Adam Gaston Verdun, 83, a native of Verdunville and long-time resident of Patterson, died Wednesday, July 28, 2004, at 6:35 a.m., at Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City.
Mr. Verdun was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in the Philippines during World War II.
The family requests that visi-tation be observed Saturday, July 31, from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Patterson. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 9 a.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church, with Msgr. Richard Greene officiating. interment will follow in the church ceme-tery with military honors being conducted by the East St. Mary Veterans Funeral Squad.
Mr. Verdun is survived by his wife, Berdine Gobert Verdun of Patterson; one son, Eric A. Ver-dun Sr. and his wife, Mary, of Patterson; two daughters, Eliza-beth Verdun Prevot and Belinda Verdun, both of Patterson; one sister, Odette Verdun Williams of Verdunville; and three grand-children, Errol Prevot, Chelsea Prevot and Eric A. Verdun II, all of Patterson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Adolph and Elonora Verdun; a sister, Rose Verdun; and a son-in-law, Ludger C. Prevot.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary Inc. of Patterson (985) 395-7873.

Maurine F. Wilson
Dec. 22, 1948 — July 22, 2004
Hotchkiss resident Maurine Wilson Passed away at her parents’ home in Delta, Colo., Thursday, July 22, 2004. She was 55.
A Communion Service was held Monday, July 26, at 10 a.m. at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Delta, Colo. The Rev. John Muller Jr. presided. Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 26, at the Delta City Cemetery.
Maurine Frances Wilson was born on Dec. 22, 1948, to David and Marguerite (Ayo) Wilson in Houma. She spent her childhood in Morgan City and graduated from Morgan City High School in 1966. Maurine has been a resident of Morgan City, Lakewood, Colo., Hotchkiss, Colo., and Delta County, Colo.
Maurine was a housekeeper, a vet assistant, and loved photography. She enjoyed ceramics, mountain climbing, taking care of animals, horseback riding and taking pictures of wildlife. She loved Colorado. Maurine was a member of the St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Delta and a member of the North Fork Shutterbug Camera Club.
Those grateful to have shared in Maurine’s life are her parents, David and Marguerite Wilson of Delta, Colo.; two brothers, Dale Wilson of Delta, Colo., and Glenn David Wilson and wife, Gail, of Austin, Colo. Maurine is further survived by her niece, April Gail Wilson; and her friend, William Faulkner.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 145 West Fifth St., Delta, CO 81416, or to the Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Colorado, P.O. Box 24, Delta, CO 81416.
Arrangements were under the care and direction of Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory.

Agnolia LaCoste, 76, born in Bayou Shaffer in Terrebonne Parish and a longtime resident of Morgan City, died Sunday, Aug. 1, 2004, in her home, surrounded by her family.
Visitation will be today from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City, and will resume Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Immanuel Baptist Church in Morgan City.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the church with the Rev. Bill Parsons officiating. interment will be in the Morgan City Cemetery.
Mrs. LaCoste is survived by her nine loving children — three sons, six daughters and one stepdaughter — Jerry Allen LaCoste and wife, Deborah, of Slidell, Paul LaCoste Jr. of Morgan City, Gibson “Gippy” LaCoste and wife, Geraldine “Dena,” of Morgan City, Maria LaCoste Sheehan and husband, Charles, of Berwick, Marilyn LaCoste Pye and husband, Douglas, of Morgan City, Judy LaCoste Crochet of Berwick, Yvette LaCoste Manley and husband, Kevin, of Mobile, Ala., Yvonne LaCoste Parsons and husband, Bill, of Baton Rouge, Mona LaCoste of Morgan City and Juanita LaCoste of Houma; 17 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; four brothers and one sister, Delma LaCoste and wife, Liz, of Patterson, Sterling LaCoste Sr. and wife, Patricia, of Berwick, Kenneth LaCoste and wife, Linda, of Berwick and Shirline LaCoste Amador and husband, Charles, of Berwick; her close friends, Cinda and Arthur Yonge of Houston; and her wonderful caregivers during her time of illness, Earline Liner and Cathy Wiese.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul LaCoste Sr. of Morgan City, and was the daughter of the late Jack and Lillian LaCoste. She also was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Cathy Scully Prado LaCoste, and son-in-law, Gerald “Jerry” Crochet Jr.
Her religious and civic activities include being a longtime member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Morgan City, president of the Morgan City Golden Age 49ers from 1988 to 2004 and a member of the Morgan City Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
Mrs. LaCoste’s pallbearers will be Paul LaCoste Jr., Gibson LaCoste, Jerry LaCoste Jr., Jason Pye, Gerald Crochet III and William Parsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry LaCoste Sr., Tommy LaCoste, Micah LaCoste, Paul LaCoste III, Michael Pye, Brian Parsons, Randy Prado Jr., Gordon Ganaway and Scott Ganaway.
Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Elleanor Arceneaux, 53, a native of Baldwin and resident of Houston, died Friday at Memorial Hermann Center in Houston.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church in Ashton.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Sorrell Community Cemetery.
She is survived by her mother, Hester Perston Arceneaux of Ashton; three sons, Jamie Laday of Ashton and Charles Laday and Jeremy Laday, both of Houston; two daughters, Charlene Lawand Hill of Kingston, N.Y., and Tamara Arceneaux of Ashton; two brothers, Cleveland Arceneaux Jr. of Gettsburg, Texas , and Charles Arceneaux of New Iberia; four sisters, Dora Jackson , Cathy Notto and Mana Arceneaux, all of Ashton, and Dianne Arceneaux of Houston; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Jones Funeral Home in Franklin is in charge of arrangements.

Ury Sylvester Arcemont, a loving husband and father, went to be with the Lord at age 82 on July 30, 2004.
Ury was born in Morgan City on Jan. 26, 1922, and was the son of Edward Arcemont and Daisy Blanco Arcemont. A resident of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., since 1997, Ury is survived by his wife of 58 years, Elanor “Sis” Templet Arcemont; their children, Debra Margaret Guidroz of New Orleans, Dianne Bernice “Bunny” Blanchard of Austele, Ga., and Edward Leo Arcemont and Joseph William Arcemont, both of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Ury is the youngest brother of Rita Ghirardi of Hammond, Winnie Davidson of Berwick, Murphy Arcemont of Morgan City and Joe Arcemont of Laguna Niguel, Calif. He also is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Ury served in the U.S. Army during World War II and retired from Texaco Inc. after 30 years of service.
A funeral Mass will be held today at 7 p.m. at St. Peters Catholic Church in Mary Esther, Fla., with Rev. Joseph P. Callipare officiating. A reception will follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association.
Emerald Coast Funeral Home in Fort Walton Beach, Fla., is in charge of arrangements.

Alberta W. Tate, 93, a native and resident of Patterson, died Thursday at 9:50 a.m. at Patterson Healthcare Center.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home in Morgan City.
Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Shield Cemetery in Patterson.
She is survived by her Godchild and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother, two sisters and two nieces.
Jones Funeral Home in Morgan City is in charge of arrangements.

Francis Dirk LeBlanc , 21, a lifelong resident of Morgan City born May 15, 1983, sadly Passed away Aug. 30, 2004, in Morgan City.
Francis was a graduate of Morgan City High School, Class of 2001. He was a gifted artist and avid reader. Francis was a skateboard enthusiast who was accomplished in many intricate skateboarding tricks.
He was also very talented in repairing electronics. Francis loved his family and poured his energy into that which he loved. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Francis was the child of Patrick and Penny LeBlanc of Morgan City.
He is survived by his mother, Carla Wilkinson of Pennsylvania ; his sister, Deanna LeBlanc of Morgan City; his brother, Patrick LeBlanc II of Morgan City; his stepbrother, Johnathon Wilkinson of Morgan City; his half-brother, Jeffery Wilkinson of Pennsylvania ; and his stepbrother, Chris Wilkinson of Pennsylvania .
He also is survived by his paternal grandparents, William and Jimmie Etta LeBlanc of Morgan City; and by his maternal grandparents, Edward “Smokey” and Margaret Floyd of Bayou Vista.
Visitation will be observed Friday, Sept. 3, 2004, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. at Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City.
Visitation will resume Saturday, Sept. 4, 2004, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Hargrave Funeral Home.
Religious services will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. Saturday, conducted by Father Robert Roger.
Francis will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.

Marilyn Louise Nickolaus Justice
Graveside services will be held in Grayville, Ill., for Marilyn Louise Nickolaus Justice, 72, who died Sunday, Sept. 5, 2004, at 11:10 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.
The date and time of the services are pending. interment will be in Grayville, Ill.
Survivors include three daughters, Janet Loflin and her husband, John, of Ocean Springs, Miss., Susan Nosworthy and her husband, Durell, of Youngsville and Mary McGlynn and her husband, Brien, of Baton Rouge; two sons, Scott Justice and his wife, Crystal, of Morgan City and Chief Petty Officer Tom Justice and his wife, Dina, of Pensacola, Fla.; 11 grandchildren, Cameron Loflin, Jacob Nosworthy, Brett Nosworthy, Robert McGlynn, Jennifer McGlynn, Emily McGlynn, Logan McGlynn, Cacie Justice, Jonathan Justice, Earl Justice and Emily Justice; and one sister, Charlene Henderson of Odon, Ind.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Justice; and her parents, Charles and Flossie Robinson Nickolaus.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a registered nurse.
She was a Presbyterian and a member of the First Christian Church of Grayville, Ill.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Martin & Castille Funeral Home in Lafayette.

Claude Wyatt “Tobe” Sellers, 80, a native of Orangefield, Texas , and a resident of Morgan City, died Monday, Sept. 6, 2004, at his residence in Morgan City.
He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Morgan City. He was also a member of the St. Mary Parish AARP and the Bass Masters.
Claude loved life and lived it to the fullest. He loved the outdoors and all it had to offer, especially hunting and fishing. He will be remembered as a kind and gentle man that had a lot of friends and loved his family dearly.
He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was the son of the late John Sellers and the late Katie Harris Sellers.
He is survived by his loving wife of over 61 years, Alice Sellers of Morgan City; two daughters, Alice Lynell Guarisco and her husband, John J. Jr., and Karen Sue Guillot and her husband, Lloyd Jr., all of Morgan City; one son, Kenneth W. Sellers and his wife, Kathleen, of New Orleans; one sister, Minnie Mae Eubanks and her husband, Elmo, of Austin, Texas ; six grandchildren, Katie, Stephen, Kevin, Mark, Kristine and Kristi; and 10 great-grandchildren, Jack, David, Peter, Kasie, Cassie, Brynn, Savanna, Ty, Keallie and Tre’.
Pallbearers to serve will be John J. Guarisco Jr., Kevin Guillot, Mark Guarisco, Stephen Guarisco, Donald Holland and Lloyd Guillot Jr.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, John Sellers, Roy Sellers and James Harvey Sellers; and one grandson, Kelin Ray Guillot.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2004, at Twin City Funeral Home in Morgan City. Funeral service will be at Twin City Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2004, with Bro. James Kyle officiating. interment will be in the Morgan City Cemetery.
