Gladys Pogue, 93
Gladys Marie (Murphy) Pogue, age 93, of Winnfield, La., died Wednesday, June 9, 2004, at Parkview Nursing Hone in Winnfield, La. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Winnfield. She was also a member of the Keenagers, WMU, and the Tri L Sunday School Class.
She was the daughter of the late Edward Murphy and the late Tera (Smelley) Murphy and was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Pogue.
She is also survived by her one son, Charles Pogue of Jonesboro, La.; three grandchildren, Carla, Marla and Brandi; and three great-grandchildren, Heath, Kristi and Breyben.
Services were under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield, La. Funeral services were June 11, 2004 at First Baptist Church of Winnfield with the Rev. Lindsey Burns officiating. interment was at the Garden of Memories Cemetery
in Winnfield, La.

Casey Bond, 19
Casey Taylor Bond, 19, of Jonesboro, died June 11 at his home. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Mr. Bond is survived by his parents, Ray and Janet Bond of Jonesboro; brothers, David Bond and Ryan Bond, both of Jonesboro; sister Jennifer Mathews and husband Michael of Weston; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services are under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Jonesboro.
Walker
Jimmie Walker, 73
Funeral services for Jimmie Lee Walker, 73, of Jonesboro were held June 12 at the Southern Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Freddie Shows and Robert Tyler officiating. Burial followed in the Harmony Grove Cemetery
near Dodson.
Mr. Walker died June 10 at his home.
He was a native of Winn Parish and lived in Jackson Parish for many years. He served in the United States Air Force twice during the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Walker was preceded in death by his parents, John Boddie Walker and Lilly Mae Deese Walker and son Roy Gene Davis.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Jean Walker; four sons, Randy Walker and wife Lena of Jonesboro, Ricky Walker and wife Lori, Gary Walker and wife DeAnna, and Steve Walker and wife Jan, all of Quitman; brothers, J.B. Walker and John Walker, both of Jonesboro and Bobbie Walker of Winnfield; sisters, Nancy Myers and husband Jimmy of Shreveport, Ruby Culver and husband Raymond of Hodge, Jessie L. Watts and husband Malcomb and Glennie Harvey and husband Travis, both of Jonesboro; and many other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Chad Walker, Michael Davis, Justin Medaries, Lavelle Brown, Clyde Myers, Larry Myers and Kenny Harvey.
Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society.

Driskill
Marie Driskill, 86
Funeral services for Marie Driskill, 86, of Hodge were held June 3 at the Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dwayne M. Boudreaux officiating. Burial followed in the Zion Cemetery
in Fairview Alpha.
Mrs. Driskill died May 31 at Lincoln General Hospital.
Born Sept. 23, 1917 in Campti, she was a retired bag mill employee.
She is survived by one sister, Beulah Jo McLaren of Pineville; grandchildren, Richard Morris of Austin, Texas , Carolyn Ford of Columbus, Neb., Donna Stanford of Basile and Rita Stanford of Roanoke; six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Richard Morris, George Carney, Travis Ables, Ed Hughes, Randall Harrington and Bobby Brinson.
Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Guillory
Martha Guillory, 60
Martha Ingram Guillory, 60, of Iowa Passed away Thursday, June 3, 2004 after battling with cancer.
Mrs. Guillory was a native of Quitman, La. and lived most of her life in Lake Charles before moving to LeBleu Settlement 10 years ago. She graduated from Westlake High School in 1961. She was a 1965 graduate of McNeese State University and in 1986 attained her Masters Degree. She began teaching Special Education in Sulphur in 1966. Mrs. Guillory taught in Welsh for seven years and for the last 15 years at J.L. Watson before retiring. She was a member of Westlake Church of God.
She is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Ronald Guillory of LeBleu Settlement; one son, Thaddeus “Tad” Guillory of Lake Charles; two daughters, Amy Hannon of LeBleu Settlement and Anne Guillory or Westlake; her mother, Tennie Alexander Ingram of Jackson Parish; three brothers, Jimmy Ingram, Billy Ingram and Phil Ingram, all of Quitman; three sisters, Nancy Stevenson of Quitman, Sheila Dubroc of Homer and Kaye Fenn of Atlanta, Ga.; three grandchildren, Sydnee Guillory and Saben and Jordan Pray.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Marion Ingram Brown.
Services were under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles.

Easley
Louise Easley, 87
Funeral services for Louise Lucky Easley, 87, of Jonesboro were held May 21 at the Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robert K. Leach officiating. Burial followed in the Friendship Cemetery.
Mrs. Easley died June 26 at Jackson Manor Nursing Home.Born June 26, 1916 in Saline, she was a retired teacher.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Mrs. Lester Easley of El Paso, Texas ; nieces, Louise Easley Guirlando of Jonesboro and Patricia Easley Reed of Lake Charles; nephews, Charles Easley of Jonesboro and Nathan Easley of Great Falls, Mt.; a host of great-nieces and nephews; and one great-great-niece.
Pallbearers were Bobby Hayden, Billy Pipes, Emett Hall, Jimmy Gleason and Murphy Chestnut.
Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Debra Morgan, 50
Funeral services for Debra Carol Morgan, 50, of Quitman were held May 24 at St. Lucy Catholic Church with the Rev. Bob Leonhardt officiating. Burial followed in the St. Lucy Catholic Cemetery
in Hodge.
Mrs. Morgan died May 21.Born Sept. 9, 1953 in Lafayette, she was a member of the St. Lucy Catholic Church and served on the Cemetery
Committee. She was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority and a teacher in the Jackson Parish School District.
Mrs. Morgan was preceded in death by one daughter, Rebecca Morgan.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Morgan of Quitman; daughter, Rachel Morgan of Quitman; son, Russell Morgan of Quitman; parents, Dot and Bill Archambeau of Shreveport; and sister, Nancy Tatum and husband Mark of Benton.
Pallbearers were Dennis Wilson, J.H. Byrd, Stephen Morgan, Robert Morgan, Chris Tatum and Mark Tatum.
Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.
Thompson
Douglas Thompson Jr., 21
Funeral services for Douglas Wayne Thompson Jr., 21, of Winnfield were held May 19 at the First Baptist Church of Winnfield with the Revs. Kenny Bratton and Billy Verhoef officiating. Burial followed in the Garden of Memories in Winnfield.
Mr. Thompson died May 16 at the Winn Parish Medical Center.
Born in Jonesboro, he was a 2001 graduate of Winnfield Senior High School and a member of Dodson Assembly of God. He worked as a pipeliner and was a member of Pipeliners Local No. 798 and the International Brotherhood of Laborers in Tampa, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Tommy Thompson.
He is survived by his father and step-mother, Douglas Thompson Sr. and wife Shani of Winnfield; mother and step-father, Elizabeth Ann Thompson Davis an husband Paul of Jonesboro; sisters, Keli Thompson of Jonesboro and Billie Thompson of Winnfield; paternal grandparents, Billy and Katherine Thompson of Winnfield; maternal grandmother, Linda Temple of Owasso, Okla.; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Pallbearers were Ryan Pickett, Chase Hoffpauir, Lance Garner, Freddie King III, Derick Thompson, Gino DeLeon, Brandon Cockerham and Zach Richards.

Eunice Thompson, 97
Funeral services for Eunice H. Thompson, 97, of Jonesboro were held May 18 at the Jonesboro United Methodist Church with the Rev. Stuart Sherman officiating. Burial followed in the Garden of Memories in Winnfield.
Mrs. Thompson died May 16 at the Jackson Parish Hospital.
Born Nov. 6, 1906 in Bernice, she was a retired housemother for Louisiana State University.
She is survived by her sons, James M. “Jim” Thompson of Jonesboro and Thomas Eugene Thompson of Colorado Springs, Colo.; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Honorary pallbearers were Jesse Gourdon and Gwin Norman.
Pallbearers were John Thompson, Sean Thompson, James R. Thompson, Mitchell Thompson, Hollis Hodges and Cliff Thompson.
Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.
Weeks
S.E. Weeks
Funeral services for Mrs. S.E. Weeks of Longview, Texas , formerly of Dodson, were held May 23 at the Southern Funeral Home Chapel with Steve Shovan officiating. Burial was in the Antioch Community Cemetery
near Calvin.
Mrs. Weeks died May 20 at Longview Regional Medical Center following a lengthy illness.
She is survived by sons, Jack Ober and wife Betty of Longview; Pete Ober and wife Wendy of Denver, Colo.; daughters, Juanita Jackson Of Albuquerque, N.M., Geneva Teague and husband Nelson of Clarksville, Ark., Marie Fenton and husband J.D. of Longview; Pat Chittenden and husband Don of Las Vegas, Nevada; brother, Robert Weeks and wife Ruth of Gansville; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Services were under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Jonesboro.
