Irene Victorine Glynn Settoon, 86, a resident of Bayou L’Ourse, born in Amelia to the late Alcide and Melevina Fryou on Sept. 12, 1918, Passed away Sept. 10, 2004, in Bayou L’Ourse.
Mrs. Irene was a member of Word of Life Family Church. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.
Mrs. Irene will be remembered as one that never met a stranger. She was gifted in the art of conversation. She loved her family and poured her energies into that which she loved.
Mrs. Irene leaves behind four sons and one daughter; Al and daughter-in-law Della Glynn of Schriever, Alcide Thomas Glynn of Pierre Part, Stanley P. Glynn Jr. and daughter-in-law Virgie Glynn of Chackbay, Travis Paul Glynn and Shirley Glynn and son-in-law Ronald Verdin Sr. of Bayou L’Ourse; 18 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, one son and three sisters.
Visitation was observed Sunday, Sept. 12, 2004, from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. at Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City. Visitation resumed today, Sept. 13, 2004, from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Religious services were at Hargrave Funeral Home at 2 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Lee Lamury.
Mrs. Irene was laid to rest in the St. Andrew Cemetery in Amelia.
Hargrave Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.

Cassie Mae Cooper, 74, a native and resident of Morgan City, died Wednesday at 2:30 a.m. at her residence.
She was a member of the West Order of the Eastern Star #50.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Mt. Era Baptist Church in Morgan City.
Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in the Morgan City Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Edward Cooper of Morgan City; two sons, Raymond Ruffin and Alton Brashear, both of Morgan City; three daughters, Barbara Ruffin Hall, Gwendolyn Brown and Ora L. Garner, all of Morgan City; six brothers, Fred Ruffin Jr., Carl Ruffin and Marvin Ruffin, all of Morgan City, Morris Ruffin of Patterson, Ervin Ruffin Sr. of Lafayette and Dale Watson of Charleston, W. Va.; four sisters, Mary Grace Dural and Berita Ann Ruffin, both of Morgan City, Vergie Seymore of Carson, Calif., and Linda Coleman of Los Angeles; 13 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.
Jones Funeral Home in Morgan City is in charge of arrangements.

Louis Glen Hensler, 72, a native of Hamilton, Ohio, and a resident of Dickson, Tenn., died Monday at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn.
A former resident of the Tri-City area, he was a former member of the St. Mary Parish Tourist Commission.
A funeral Mass will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Christopher’s Catholic Church. He will be cremated.
He is survived by two sons, Derrick Hensler of Pensacola, Fla., and John Patrick Hensler of Lyles, Tenn.; one daughter, Deborah “Dee” Hymel of Morgan City; his mother, Hilda Hensler of Hamilton, Ohio; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife and father.
Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson, Tenn., is in charge of arrangements.

Peggy Duhon, 47, a native and resident of Amelia, died Monday at Thibodaux Regional Medical Center.
Visitation will be Friday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m.
Visitation will resume Saturday, 8:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
Funeral services, officiated by the Rev. Greg Fratt, will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Amelia with burial in the church cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Terry Duhon of Bayou L’Ourse; four daughters, Brandy Bailey of Morgan City and Terri Thibodeaux, Brittany Duhon and Tabatha Duhon, all of Bayou L’Ourse; a son, Brian Blankenship of Berwick; her mother, Lucille Kidder of Bayou L’Ourse; two sisters, Nancy Rollins and Paula Benoit, both of Bayou L’Ourse; one brother, Tommy Kidder of Bayou L’Ourse; one grandchild, Holden Thibodeaux; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Twin City Funeral Home in Morgan City has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Agatha Accardo, 84, a native and lifelong resident of Patterson, died Thursday, Sept. 9, 2004, at 9:20 p.m. at Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City.
Visitation was observed Saturday, Sept. 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Patterson.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Father Joshua Rodrigue of Holy Cross officiated the Mass. interment followed in the St. Joseph Cemetery.
Miss Accardo is survived by three brothers, Joseph Accardo of Youngsville, Jack Accardo of Bayou Vista and Francis “Pat” Accardo of Franklin; two sisters, Leona Accardo and Lena A. Hamilton, both of Morgan City; and by 10 nephews and two nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Angelo and Mary DePrima Accardo; and by two brothers, Nick I. Accardo and Angelo R. Accardo.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary Inc. of Patterson.

Mrs. Elaine Theresa Hoffman, 75, was born to the late Aristile Landry and Orileen Pennison Landry Sept. 9, 1928, in Bayou L’Ourse. She was a resident of Bayou L’Ourse and sadly Passed away Sept. 15, 2004, at Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City.
Elaine Hoffman was a retired LPN for Lakewood Medical Center where she spent many years, after which she became a private duty nurse. She was a faithful parishioner of St. Andrew Catholic Church in Amelia.
She is survived by her four sons, Herman Hoffman Jr. and his wife, Barbara, of Marrero, Reginald Hoffman and his wife, Monica, and Hugh Hoffman, all of Bayou L’Ourse, and Kevin Hoffman and his wife, Swaantje, of Gonzales; her two daughters, Lisa Landry of Meridian, Miss., and Rebecca Tisdale of Bayou L’Ourse. She also is survived by her 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, seven brothers and three sisters.
Visitation will be Friday, Sept. 17, 2004, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume Saturday, Sept. 18, 2004, from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will commence at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Amelia at 2 p.m. Saturday with Father Greg Fratt officiating.
Mrs. Elaine Hoffman will be laid to rest in the St. Andrew Cemetery.
Hargrave Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Darren John Boudreaux, 33, a resident of Morgan City, died Wednesday, Sept. 15, from complications stemming from a spinal cord injury sustained in an accident two years ago.
As a quadriplegic, Darren was paralyzed from the chest down. He did not have the use of his hands, yet with a little bit of ingenuity and an inexhaustible supply of Velcro* supplied by his aunt, Charlene Gaddis, he was able to use power tools to build lovely chests and jewelry boxes.
Prior to his accident, Darren was an avid sportsman. He loved hunting and fishing. He never shied away from adventure and he took it to the edge.
Generous to a fault, loving of children and with a special empathy for the elderly, he will be missed by many.
His survivors include his beloved daughter, Britne; his father, Roy Boudreaux Jr. of Morgan City; his mother, Karen Gordon and stepfather, Jeff Gordon of Houston; his sister, Tracie Boudreaux and her son, Michael, of Houston; his paternal grandmother, maternal grandparents and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Roy Boudreaux Sr.
The family gratefully acknowledges the loving care provided by Lisa Jones and Aileen Romero.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. services Saturday at Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City. Internment will be in the Morgan City Cemetery.

Natalie Maude “Connie” Chaisson Durocher, 78, a native and resident of Morgan City, died Tuesday, July 20, 2004, at her residence in Morgan City. She was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Morgan City.
Connie’s life was one that exemplified the saying “service above self,” showing each person she came in contact with that they were important to her. She had a giving spirit and was willing to help anyone that needed her. She loved to go shopping and loved life and lived it to the fullest, pouring all she had into that which she loved the most, her family. She was a beloved great-great-grandmother, great-grandmother, grandmother, mother and wife, and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her and each life that she touched in her own special way.
She was the daughter of the late Dennis Chaisson and the late Mary Albert Chaisson.
She is survived by her six daughters, Julie Simoneaux and her husband, Lennis, of Morgan City, Mary Sons of Patterson, Wanda Sons of Houston, Diana Ackman and her husband, Herbert, of Calumet, Gloria Marino and her husband, Benny, of Morgan City, and Dolly Chapman of Patterson; three sons, Harvey Durocher and Herbert Durocher, both of Morgan City, and Gary Durocher and his wife, Angela, of Bayou Vista; three sisters, Margaret Bourgeois of Abita Springs, and Jessie Hebert and Rosella Bertrand, both of Morgan City; two brothers, Jim Chaisson and his wife, Donna, of Houston, and Lamar Chaisson and his wife, Dot, of Morgan City; 34 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father; mother; her first husband of two years, Allen Woodward; and her second husband of over 57 years, Herbert Durocher; three sisters, Hilda Neal, Emily Bertrand and Gladys Chaisson; eight brothers, Roy Chaisson, William Chaisson, Randolf Chaisson, Raymond Chaisson, Albert Chaisson and four infant children; and one grandson, Vernon Sheek.
The family would like to offer a special thank-you to Hospice for the great work that you do, the staff of the sixth floor at Teche Regional Medical Center, and to Dr. Francis “Chuck’ Metz III.
The family will receive friends today from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Thursday, July 22, 2004, at Twin City Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at Twin City Funeral Home at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 22, 2004, with Bro. Bart Boone officiating.
Cremation will follow as per Connie’s wishes.

Irene Couvillier Aucoin, 70, a native of Big Pigeon and a resident of Morgan City, died Monday, March 18, 2002, at 11:20 a.m. in Morgan City.
Private funeral services were conducted this afternoon for the family at Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City.
Others who wish to attend visitation may do so today from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m., and again Thursday beginning at 9 a.m. at the funeral home.
Passage of the body will be at Pharr Chapel United Methodist Church in Morgan City at 2 p.m. Thursday, with burial in the Morgan City Cemetery, next to her husband.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Newton Joseph Aucoin; five brothers, Clifton Couvillier, Arthur Couvillier, Albert Couvillier, Lester Couvillier Jr. and Sidney Couvillier Jr.; and one sister, Violet Nicks.
She is survived by four daughters, Mary Lee Aucoin Miller, Wanda Lee Aucoin, Janiece Aucoin Gros and Pamsy Aucoin; a son, Ray Aucoin; two brothers, Floyd Couvillier and Jessie Couvillier; a stepbrother, Sidney Couvillier; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Alfreda Guidry; and a brother-in-law, Floyd Aucoin.
Other survivors include 10 grandchildren, Karla Miller, Marlene Miller, Anita Dinger, Michael Miller and Christopher Miller, all children of Mary Lee and Richard Miller; James Turner, son of Wanda Lee Aucoin; Brandi Gros, daughter of Janiece and Wilbert Gros Jr.; Jeremiah Aucoin, son of Pamsy Aucoin; Tony Aucoin, son of Ray Aucoin; and Ashly Aucoin, daughter of Ray Aucoin.
She is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren, Kayla Paul, Jennifer Paul and Brianna Paul, children of Karla Miller and partner Larry Paul III and grandchildren of Richard and Mary Lee Miller; Ricky Miller, son of Marlene Miller and partner Bruce McCann and grandson of Richard and Mary Lee Miller; Devin Dinger, son of Anita and Corbert Dinger and grandson of Richard and Mary Lee Miller; Savanna Hebert, Katelyn Miller and Drake Miller, children of Christopher and Tessie Hebert Miller and grandchildren of Richard and Mary Lee Miller; Savannah Turner and Blake Turner, children James and Alma Turner and grandchildren of Wanda Lee Aucoin; Ashly Gros and Tony Gros, children of Brandi Gros and grandchildren of Wilbert Jr. and Janiece Gros; and Ashley Aucoin and Tony Aucoin, children of Ray Aucoin and grandchildren of Irene and Newton Aucoin.
Pallbearers will be Ray Aucoin, son of Irene and Newton Aucoin; Richard Miller, husband of Mary Lee; Michael Miller, son of Richard Miller and Mary Lee; Christopher Miller, son of Richard Miller and Mary Miller; James Turner, son of Wanda Lee Aucoin; Wilbur Gros Jr., husband of Janiece Aucoin; Pamsy Aucoin, daughter of Irene and Newton Aucoin and Jeremiah Aucoin, son of Pamsy Aucoin.
