Willie Joseph Daigle Jr., 56, also known as "Noisemaker," his C.B. radio handle, died Tuesday at Baptist Hospital in New Orleans. He was a native and resident of Morgan City.
A retired sandblaster and painter from Noble’s Construction Co., and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Morgan City.
Visitation today will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and will resume Thursday at 8 a.m. at Twin City Funeral Home in Morgan City.
Funeral services Thursday at the church will begin at 11 a.m. Burial will be in the Morgan City Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Daigle of Morgan City; two sons, Keith Joseph Daigle and Russell Joseph Daigle, both of Morgan City; three daughters, Tammy Delahoussaye, Melissa Musco and Sondra Lynn Daigle, all of Morgan City; one brother, Charles Daigle of Morgan City; four grandsons; and one granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
Twin City Funeral Home in Morgan City is in charge of arrangements.

Burnell Powell, 64, a native and resident of Patterson, died Saturday at 9:56 a.m. at Medical Center of Southwest Louisiana in Lafayette.
Visitation Friday will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at St. Luke Baptist Church in Patterson.
Funeral services Friday will begin at 3 p.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in the Willing Workers Cemetery in Patterson.
He is survived by one son, Rory Donnell Powell of Patterson; a daughter, Velvet L. Powell of Lafayette; two brothers, the Rev. Frederick Powell of Morgan City and Joseph Powell of Chicago; two sisters, Lillie Mae Howard of Houston and Theresa Powell of Los Angeles; two stepsisters, Valerie Perry and Jacqueline McKnight of Patterson; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a sister and four brothers.
Otis Mortuary in Franklin is in charge of arrangements.

David Wayne Johnson , 46, a native of Memphis and resident of Patterson, died Wednesday at Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City.
He was an employee of SECO Industries as an electrician and he was of the Baptist faith.
Johnson ’s remains will be cremated. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
He is survived by his wife, Angela Lynn Lombas Johnson of Patterson; his mother, Dorothy M. Johnson of Florida; one son, David Johnson Jr. of Patterson; one daughter, Sherrica Mayon of Patterson; a brother, Steven Johnson of the State of Washington ; two sisters, Linda Grass of New Jersey and Tonya Hebert of Ohio; and one grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a son and his father.
Twin City Funeral Home in Morgan City is in charge of arrangements.

Beatrice Roger LaJaunie Peltier, 91, a native of Thibodaux, a former resident of Centerville and Franklin, and a resident of Baldwin for the past two years, died Saturday at 9:15 a.m. in Baldwin.
She was a member of the Catholic Daughters, the Ladies Altar Society and the Golden Age Club, of which she was a former queen.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. today. Burial was in the St. Joseph Cemetery Mausoleum in Thibodaux.
She is survived by two sons, Robert J. "Boo" LaJaunie of Baldwin and Craig LaJaunie of Centerville; three daughters, Anna Lee Belaire of Morgan City, Patricia Arboneaux Leger and Gail Bergeron, both of Lafayette; three brothers, Noland Roger, Peter Roger and Wallace Roger, all of Thibodaux; two sisters, Flore Guillot and Una Borne, both of Thibodaux; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two husbands, one son, one daughter, two brothers, three sisters and one grandson.
Ibert’s Mortuary in Franklin was in charge of arrangements.

Angel Kerie Guillory, six days old, died Sunday in New Orleans.
Graveside services for the infant, a native and resident of Morgan City, were held at 10 a.m. today at the Morgan City Cemetery.
She is survived by her mother, Latasha Guillory of Morgan City; her father, Derrick Robertson of Morgan City; and her maternal grandparents, Albert and Debra Guillory of Morgan City.
Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City was in charge of arrangements.

Emma Shaw, 69, a native of New Iberia and resident of Berwick, died Tuesday at 1 a.m. at University Medical Center in Lafayette.
Visitation Sunday will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at New Beginnings Christian Fellowship in Morgan City.
Funeral services will begin at 8 p.m. Sunday at the church. Dismissal will be Monday at 10 a.m. at the church, with burial in the Berwick Cemetery.
She is survived by one son, the Rev. Billy Reaux of Patterson; five daughters, Cynthia Dartest of Lafayette, Arnette Rochelle of Berwick, Marlene Reaux of New Iberia, Darlene Cox of Baton Rouge and Luria Stubblefield of Zachary; three brothers, Hilson Barideaux, Hilton Barideaux and Orien Barideaux, all of New Iberia; two sisters, Eunice Simmons of Lafayette and Aline Reaux of Morgan City; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four sisters and one brother.
Jones Funeral Home in Morgan City is in charge of arrangements.

Betty Wells McElveen was born in DeRidder on Jan. 24, 1941, and went home to be with the Lord on May 7, 2002.
She was preceded in death by her father, the Rev. C.G. Wells.
Betty is survived by her mother, Cordia Wells; her sister, Glenda Wells of Dallas; and a foster brother, Wade Scully of Jackson , Miss.
Betty’s growing up years were in Louisiana and Mississippi. She graduated from Louisiana College in Pineville, with a BA in Elementary Education. While teaching second grade, she worked toward her MA at Louisiana State University.
She moved to Dallas in 1969, where she was an active member of First Baptist Church in Dallas. She was a member of the choir and active in volunteer work. She became part of the staff of the Women’s Missionary Union where she helped with GAs and Acteens. After a couple of years, she worked full time as an assistant in the preschool division of the church. She has inspired and loved hundreds of little children and their parents, who loved and admired her back.
On March 30, 2002, she retired from the church staff.
Betty fought a long battle with cancer for more than 20 years.
A memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church, Embree Hall, on Friday, May 10, at 10:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society, the Alzheimer’s Association or the Preschool Ministry of First Baptist Church in Dallas.

Clarence "Tippy" Higgins Sr., 73, a native of Jeanerette and resident of Patterson, died Wednesday at 11:40 p.m. at River West Medical Center in Plaquemine.
Funeral services were held today at 2 p.m. at Ibert’s Mortuary in Franklin. Burial was in the Franklin Cemetery.
He is survived by four sons, Clarence Higgins Jr. of Franklin, Steven Ray Higgins and Larry Michael Higgins, both of Amelia, and Bobby Higgins of Houma; two daughters, Judy Mae Orgeron of Amelia and Alice Callahan of Houma; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and his close companion, Mary Blankenship.
He was preceded in death by his wife and his parents.
Ibert’s Mortuary in Franklin was in charge of arrangements.

Frances S. Dupuy, 68, a resident of Patterson for 53 years, died Thursday, May 30, 2002, at 2:20 a.m. at Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City.
Visitation today was from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Patterson.
Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. at the church. Burial was in Ibert’s Memorial Park Cemetery in Patterson.
She is survived by her husband, William H. Dupuy Sr. of Patterson; two sons, William H. Dupuy Jr. of Berwick and Gordon "Boo" Charles Dupuy of Patterson; six daughters, Brenda Landry, Sherry LaCoste and Madeline Pisani, all of Patterson, Patty Arnold of Houston, Frances Adcock of Kaplan and Tabitha Fontenot of Kenner; three brothers, Charles Gordon Sanders, Harold Sanders and David "Sonny" Sanders, all of New Iberia; three sisters, Agatha Sanders of Hobbs, N.M., Jessie Robicheaux of Franklin and Patsy LeBlanc of New Iberia; 19 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Gordon Charles Sanders; her mother, Lavada Roberts Sanders; one sister, Elizabeth Sanders; one grandson, William "Willie" Dupuy III; and one great-grandson, Joseph Anthony Ganaway.
Ibert’s Mortuary in Patterson is in charge of arrangements.

Mark E. Von Buelow, 54, a native of Macon, Ga., and resident of St. Mary Parish for 23 years, died this morning at his residence in Bayou Vista.
A U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam era, he was a welder with Power Panels and a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Bayou Vista.
He is survived by his wife, Vina Aucoin Von Buelow of Bayou Vista; his mother, Virginia Von Buelow of Pensacola, Fla.; two sons, Bart Von Buelow of Bayou Vista and Michael Lee of Arizona; two brothers, Robert Von Buelow of Vero Beach, Fla., and Duer Burnett of Pensacola, Fla.; one sister, Marjorie Terry of Pensacola, Fla.; and four grandchildren, Robert Caleb Von Buelow, Chett Von Buelow, Sage Von Buelow and Katilyn Von Buelow.
He was preceded in death by his father, Elgin Clement Von Buelow; a son, Robert Von Buelow; and a daughter, Cheryl Weiss.
Visitation will be Saturday, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., and continue Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Twin City Funeral Home in Morgan City.
Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Von Buelow’s remains will be cremated.
