Harold M. Barr Jr.
Funeral services for Harold M. Barr Jr., 54, a native of Odessa, Texas , resident of Kilgore, Texas , also a former resident of Patterson, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Luke United Methodist Church in Kilgore, Texas .
Burial will follow in the Danville Cemetery in Kilgore, Texas , under the direction of Rader Funeral Home.
Barr died Sunday at Hospice Homeplace in Tyler, Texas .
A graduate of University of Southwestern Louisiana in Lafayette, he had been a civil engineer in the East Texas area.
Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Sharon Barr of Kilgore, Texas ; a daughter, Mrs. Adam (Jennifer) Dowell of Kilgore, Texas ; his mother, Rebecca Barr of Patterson; three sisters, Harolyn Boyles, Mrs. Johnny (Peggy) Darce and Mrs. Danny (Linda) Felterman, all of Patterson; two brothers, Roy Barr and Kenneth Barr, both of Patterson; several nieces, nephews and other loving family members.
He was preceded in death by his father and a son.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home tonight from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke’s Methodist Church, 401 East Main, Kilgore, TX 75662.

Clifton “Cliff” Sidney Aucoin, born April 5, 1923, in Labadieville and a lifelong resident of Stephensville, succumbed to Alzheimer’s at Patterson Healthcare Center on Nov. 9, 2004 at the age of 81.
Cliff was the owner and operator of Motor Service Garage in Wyandotte for more than 50 years. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II, having served in the Pacific Theater. He was a member of the Marine Corps League. Cliff loved the outdoors and he was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was the past president of the Atchafalaya Sportsman’s Club. He was a talented gardener and took great pride in his delicious tomatoes and cucumbers. He was a member of the St. Mary Chapter of the AARP. He loved his family and selflessly gave of himself to the ones he loved.
He was preceded in death by his father, Sidney Aucoin; his mother, Zulma Gros Aucoin; his brothers, Roy, Thomas, Eddie, Alden and Oscar Aucoin; and his sister, Velma Aucoin Cook.
Cliff is survived by his wife of 38½ years and caretaker, Evelyn Daigle Aucoin; his loving children, Ronnie Aucoin and wife Wanda, Rickey Aucoin and wife Brenda, Vernon Aucoin and companion Jackie, Lois Aucoin Sons and husband Kerry, Jackie David Marcotte and husband Blake, Mollie Aucoin Falcon, Liesa Aucoin Giroir and fiancé Chris Peltier, Shelia David, and Kevin Aucoin; 21 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; his brothers, Sidney, Willie and Lester Aucoin; his sister, Mathilde Aucoin Verrett; and his ever-faithful canines, T-Bone and Bear.
A time of remembrance and reflection will be observed today from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City.
Religious services will be Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. interment will follow in the Morgan City Mausoleum. Pallbearers will be John Aucoin, Rickey Aucoin Jr., Shawn Falcon, Roy David LeBlanc Jr., Warren Daigle Jr. and Curtis Aucoin.
The East St. Mary Funeral Squad will conduct graveside military services, present the American flag to his loving family and honor him with a 21-gun salute for their comrade who courageously gave of himself in defense of our great nation.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Clifton’s memory to the American Alzheimer’s Association, 225 North Michigan Ave., Ste. 1700, Chicago, Ill., 60601-7633.
Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City is in charge of arrangements.

John P. Clark, 94, a native of Fairview and resident of Berwick, died Friday at 9:27 p.m. at Patterson Healthcare Center.
Visitation will be Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. John Baptist Church in Berwick.
Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in the Berwick Cemetery.
He is survived by five sons, John M. Clark, George L. Clark and Lawrence Clark, all of Berwick, Clarence Donald Clark of Amelia and James L. Clark of Houma; five daughters, Vera C. Black, Carol C. Williams, Florance C. Harris and Virginia C. Johnson , all of Berwick, and Glenda C. Stackhouse of Patterson; one sister, Ruth Griffin of Tucson, Ariz.; 31 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one son, two daughters, two brothers, one sister and two grandchildren.
Otis Mortuary in Franklin is in charge of arrangements.

Juanita Hazeltine, 85, a long-time resident of Morgan City, was born in New Orleans on Sept. 4, 1919, to the late Charley and Carrie Lanata. She Passed away Nov. 9, 2004, in Morgan City.
Juanita loved life and lived it with abundant passion. She was a faithful member of Pharr Chapel United Methodist Church.
Her chosen career was that of bookkeeper for Cy’s MC Appliances in Morgan City. She was a long-time member and past Worthy Matron of Alice Chapter 5 of the Eastern Star. Juanita was active in the Rainbow Girls where she influenced the lives of many young ladies so that they would one day make a positive difference in this world.
Juanita was a lady of many talents. In her hands, some of the most finely crafted porcelain dolls were made. These dolls will bring immense pleasure to many in the years to come.
Juanita was a marvelous baker. Her cookies and their recipes brought a truly wonderful taste to many holiday tables.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Christine Hazeltine of Destrehan; three grandsons, Edwin Hazeltine II and Keith Hazeltine Jr., both of Destrehan, and Burt Hazeltine and his wife, Mandy, of Boutte; one great-grandson, Blake Hazeltine; and one great-granddaughter, Sara Hazeltine.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin N. Hazeltine; daughter, Carolyn Hazeltine; sister, Olivia Hosch; and brother, Frank Lanata.
A time of remembrance and reflection will be observed today, Nov. 11, 2004, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., resuming Friday, Nov. 12, 2004, from 8:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Pharr Chapel United Methodist Church in Morgan City.
Services by the Rev. Becky Conner will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at the church.
Juanita will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City is in charge of arrangements.

Herman William “Bill” Bierhorst, 84, a native of New Orleans and resident of Baton Rouge, formerly of Franklin and Patterson, died Saturday at 10 p.m. at his residence.
The family requests visiting hours be observed Saturday at Rabenhorst Funeral Home in Baton Rouge from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. when a memorial service will be held.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Henrietta Ibert Bierhorst of Baton Rouge; one son, Stephen Bierhorst and his wife, Josie, of Patterson; two daughters, Susan B. Poydock and her husband, David, of Baton Rouge and Anita B. Carbon and her husband, Robert, of Thibodaux; five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the charity of your choice.
Arrangements have been handled by Rabenhorst Funeral Home in Baton Rouge.

Walter Butler, 79, a native of Berwick and resident of Patterson, died Monday, Nov. 8, 2004, at 2:10 p.m. at Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City.
Visitation will be observed Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Little Zion Baptist Church in Berwick.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Little Zion with burial in the Patterson Memorial Cemetery.
He is survived by his former wife, Shirley Moton Williams of Patterson.
They were blessed with one daughter, Regina B. James of Patterson; a stepson, Reginald Augman of Patterson; a stepdaughter, Renita Garrison of Patterson; a sister, Dorothy Butler McGuire of Patterson; a brother, Leroy Butler of Patterson; two grandchildren, Derace L. James of Lafayette and Kentrell J. Butler of Patterson; one great-grandson, Deaton G. Maze of Lafayette; one step-grandson, Alfred Garrison Jr. of Monroe; one niece, Rose Gant of Patterson; two sisters-in-law, Ella Mahannah of Berwick and Betty Carter of Chicago and a goddaughter, Edwina Johnson of Berwick and a host of other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Otis Mortuary in Franklin is in charge of arrangements.

Kathleen Doran Dykes, 57, a native of Donaldsonville and resident of Gonzales, Passed away at 12:25 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2004, in Baton Rouge.
Visitation will take place at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Donaldsonville on Saturday, Nov. 13, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial, conducted by the Rev. Michael Galea, will follow at 11 a.m. Internment will be at the church mausoleum.
Dykes was a reading facilitator for the Ascension Parish School Board. She retired after 32½ years of service. She was a member of the Association of Professional Educators of Louisiana .
She is survived by her husband, Jimmy “Coach” Dykes of Gonzales; her mother, Shirley “Billie” Berniard Doran of Donaldsonville; her daughter Kristy Lynn Dykes of Gonzales; two sons, Jay Dykes and his wife, Trish, of Gonzales, and David Dykes of Greenwell Springs; five sisters, Gerry Henry and her husband, Robert, of Gonzales, Shirley Fangue and her husband, Butch, of Thibodaux, Susan Guidry and her husband, Norman, of Cut Off, Cindy Marino and her husband, Joe, and Debra LeBlanc and her husband, Daryl, all of Berwick; one brother, Hugh “Tommy” Doran Jr. and his wife, Pam, of Baton Rouge; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Hugh Thomas Doran Sr.; and her niece, Erin Guidry.
Pallbearers will include Jay and David Dykes, Ben Castagnos, Hunter Guidry, Tommy Doran Jr. and Cody Meche.
The family extends special thanks to Dr. Michael Hirsch and Dr. Jon Savoie for the care they gave to Kathleen during her illness.
Ourso Funeral Home in Donaldsonville has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.

Gladys Jack Hall, 85, a native of Charenton and resident of Baldwin, died Nov. 6 at 5:25 p.m. at Terrebonne General Medical Center in Houma.
Visitation will be Saturday at Trinity United Methodist Church in Baldwin from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the church with burial in the Godman Cemetery in Charenton.
She is survived by a son, Edward Henry of Baldwin; a daughter, Albertha Roberts of Houma; three sisters, Mary J. Jacquet and Lena M.J. Boudreaux, both of Port Arthur, Texas ; and Gertrude Matthews of Patterson; and 13 grandchildren.

James P. “Jimmy” Harvey Sr.
July 14, 1925 - November 12, 2004
James Perkins “Jimmy” Harvey Sr., 79, a lifelong resident of Morgan City, died Friday, Nov. 12, 2004, at Patterson Healthcare in Patterson.
He was a Christian by Faith.
He was a member of American Legion and served his country proudly in the United States Army during World War II in Okinawa, Japan.
Jimmy was a simple man who worked very hard for his family. He was a good provider for his family, trying hard to give them all he could. He loved to learn new things and his vast knowledge and ability to communicate with people was a testament to the kind of man he was.
Jimmy could repair anything that was electrical and had a vast knowledge of the intricacies of electronics. He was proudly known as “Morgan City’s first television repairman.” He never met a stranger and was quick to offer a handshake and talk about just about anything. He loved to meet new people and carry on a constructive conversation.
He was a giver of his time and energy, always being just a phone call away from anyone who needed him.
He enjoyed reading and loved to sit and listen to music.
Jimmy loved life and lived it with all his might. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him, and each life that he touched in his own special way.
He was the son of the late George Harvey and the late Louise (Wise) Harvey.
He is survived by his loving wife of over 57 years, Dorothy Harvey of Morgan City; three daughters, Sally Tullier of Morgan City, Susan Pecorino and her husband, Victor, of Nederland, Texas , and Mary Ellen Brown and her husband, Floyd, of Morgan City; two sons, James P. Harvey Jr. of Dallas and Dr. Samuel J. Harvey and his wife, Christina, of Duncanville, Texas ; 12 grandchildren, Kyley Harvey, Ryan Harvey, Justin Harvey, Donovan Tullier Sr., Amber Tullier, Derrin Tullier, Sheri Pecorino, Frank Pecorino, Charles Brown, Benjamin Brown and Matthew Brown; and two great-grandchildren, Sydni Tullier and Donovan Tullier Jr.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Edwin Harvey and Thomas Harvey; three sisters, Helen Delaune, Louise Terrebonne and Lillian Harvey; one son-in-law, Donald Tullier; and one daughter-in-law, Gertrude Harvey.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 14, at Twin City Funeral Home in Morgan City. Funeral services will be at Twin City Funeral Home at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 14, with the Rev. David Willoughby officiating.
Twin City Funeral Home in Morgan City has been entrusted with the arrangements.
