Hawkins
Linda Hawkins, 55
Funeral services for Linda Collinsworth Hawkins, 55, were held April 7 at the Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Frank Shields officiating. Burial followed in the Pine Ridge Cemetery in Goldonna.

Mrs. Hawkins died April 5 in Saline.

Born Feb. 28, 1949 in Jonesboro, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by daughter, Laurie Ann Durbin and husband Brian of Saline; sons, Michael Shane Hawkins and wife Kathie of Saline, Joshua Wesley Hawkins and wife Jennifer of Saline and Nicolas Lee Hawkins of Saline; mother and step-father, Mrs. Billie Southern and Ray Southern of Castor; sisters, Debbie Keiffer and husband Harvey of Goldonna and Sandy Keiffer; and husband Clifton of Goldonna; brothers, Barry Collinsworth of Castor and Mike Collinsworth of Goldonna; and grandchildren, Jordan, Ben, Brandon and Noah.

Pallbearers were Todd Weaver, Brad Weaver, Kenneth Morgan, Jason Keiffer, Justin Keiffer and Morgan Keiffer.

Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Oakes
Onie Oakes, 96
Funeral services for Onie White Brand Oakes, 96, of Winnfield were held April 5 at the Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Tarver officiating. Burial followed in the Sikes Cemetery.

Mrs. Oakes died April 3 at Winn Medical Center.

Born Sept. 13, 1907 in Sikes, she was a housewife.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Betty Lou Creel; husbands, Louie Brand and James R. Oakes; and by brothers, Oscar White , Ira White , Arthur White and Horace White .

She is survived by daughters, Peggy Bozeman and husband Estes of Winnfield and Jimmie Jean Corry and husband Glynn of Ruston; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were John D. Creel, Randy Creel, Matt Creel, Charles Abrahm, Michael Long and Stephen Long.

Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Terrell
Toney Terrell, 77
Funeral services for Toney E. Terrell, 77, of Arcadia were held March 30 at the Southern Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Wilson officiating. Burial followed in the Olla Cemetery.

Mr. Terrell died March 27 at Lincoln General Hospital in Ruston following a lengthy illness.

Mr. Terrell is survived by his wife, Geneva Terrell of Arcadia; six sons, Bernard Eldridge Terrell of Tullos, Clyde Washington Terrell of Bryceland, Louis Ester Terrell and wife Cathy of Olla, Lonnie Eugene Terrell of Branson, Mo., Paul Cornelius Terrell and wife LaFern of Arcadia and Tony Edward Terrell and wife Gina of Simsboro; aunt, Ida Hutchison of Merridian, Miss.; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services were under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

Griggs
Harold Griggs, 71
Funeral services for Lt. Col. Harold Gene Griggs (retired), 71, of West Monroe were held March 31 at the McClendon Baptist Church in West Monroe with the Revs. Rick Crandall and Herman Savoie officiating. Burial followed in the Zoar Cemetery in Chatham.

Lt. Col. Griggs died March 28 at Glenwood Regional Medical Center.

Lt. Col Griggs was a retired business manager for Surgery Associates. He was a member of McClendon Baptist Church where he served as deacon, a member of the Gideons, a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army Reserve and a member of the Retired Officers Association. He held a bachelor of science degree from Louisiana State University, and he was the former pianist for the Masters Quartet, former choir director for several Baptist churches and vice president of the Louisiana State Singing Convention.

Lt. Col. Griggs was preceded in death by his first wife of 39 years, Nelda Mae Griggs; parents, Elva and Sydney Griggs; and brother, Richard Griggs.

He is survived by his wife, Andrea Griggs of West Monroe; daughters, Kay Bishop and husband Wade of West Monroe and Kathy Griggs of West Monroe; son, Jay M. Griggs Sr. of Chatham; step-daughter, Cindy McKinney and husband Randy of Monroe; step-son, Wayne Heckford and wife Lisa of West Monroe; grandchildren, Ashley and Jason Bishop, Rachael, Jeremy and Jay M. Griggs Jr. and Crystal Carter; step-grandchildren, Brandy, Jacob and Annalee Heckford and Mallorie McKinney; brothers, William P. Griggs of West Monroe and Jesse Griggs and wife Reva of Hitchcock, Texas ; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Honorary pallbearers were deacons of McClendon Baptist Church and the men of Jim Merriweather and Ralph Owens Sunday school classes.

Pallbearers were Andy Bishop, Jerry Bishop, Gary Davis, Rick Griggs, David Massey, Buzzy May, Emerson Oaks and Melvin Whitlock.

Memorials may be made to the McClendon Baptist Church, the American Cancer Society, the Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home or the Gideons.

Services were under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe.

Liles
Estella Liles, 90
Funeral services for Estella M. Liles, 90, of Jonesboro were held March 9 at the Southern Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Joey Bignar officiating. Burial followed in the Liles Cemetery.

Mrs. Liles died March 6 at Forest Haven Nursing Center after a lengthy illness.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul J. Liles and daughter, Mona Alexander.

Mrs. Liles is survived by sons, Tracy Liles and wife Bobbie of Jonesboro and John Paul Liles and wife Wanda of Shreveport; daughter, Vera Posey of Shreveport; brothers, William Morris and Elwin Morris, both of Bossier City; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and host of other relatives and friends.

Honorary pallbearer was Charles W. Raborn.

Pallbearers were Eric Alexander, Skip Amidon, Jeff Liles, Jim Liles, Elwin Liles and A.J. Liles.

Services were under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

Powell
Coreace Powell, 84
Funeral services for Coreace J. Powell, 84, of Bienville were held March 19 at the Southern Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. A.R. Moore officiating. Burial followed in the Camp Ground Cemetery near Bienville.

Mrs. Powell died March 16 at Forest Haven following a brief illness.

Mrs. Powell was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Lee Powell.

She is survived by several nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Services were under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

Tilley
William Tilley, 56
Funeral services for William Ray Tilley, 56, of Jonesboro were held March 27 at the Gayla Traina Cemetery. Mr. Tilley died March 25.Born July 3, 1947 in Minden, he was a truck driver.

Mr. Tilley was preceded in death by his parents, Eva and J.W. Tilley and one sister, Mary Helen Tilley.

He is survived by his wife, Lois Tilley of Jonesboro; daughter, Judy Wilkerson and husband Terry of Jonesboro; sons, Billy Tilley of Jonesboro and Bobby Tilley and wife Cherly of Winnfield; sister, JoAnn Carpenter of Crestview, Fla.; brothers, Jimmy Tilley of Quitman and Johnny Tilley of Goldonna; and five grandchildren.

Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Trulock
Thomas Trulock, 79
Funeral services for Thomas Edward Trulock, 79, of Shreveport were held March 27 at the Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Onie Hay officiating. Burial followed in the Garden of Memories.

Mr. Trulock died March 23 in Shreveport.

Born Sept. 5, 1924 in Goshen, Calif., he was a retired maintenance engineer and an Air Force veteran of World War II.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Austin Trulock.

He is survived by one daughter, Jeanette Tolar and husband George of Jonesboro; sons, Jack Trulock of Shreveport and Jim Trulock of Dallas; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were his grandsons.

Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Vail
Lillian Vail, 96
Funeral services for Lillian Lawrence Vail, 96, of Jonesboro were held March 30 at the Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. J.D. Moss officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. Olive East Cemetery.

Mrs. Moss died March 28 at Forest Haven Nursing Center.

Born Oct. 27, 1907 in Quitman, she was a housewife.

Mrs. Vail was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Emmett Vail; and daughter, Maude Helen Stadtlander.

She is survived by son, J.D. Vail of Campti; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and a niece and nephew.

Pallbearers were Ronald Crow, Douglas Vail, Steve Vail, Jimmy Nicholson, Pete Lyles, Bo Stadtlander and David Vail.

Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Walpole
Hazel Walpole, 91
Funeral services for Hazel N. Walpole, 91, of North Hodge were held March 25 at the Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dwayne M. Boudreaux officiating. Burial followed in the Fellowship Cemetery.

Mrs. Walpole died March 23 at The Terrace.

Born Dec. 1, 1912 in Tioga, she was a housewife.

She is survived by her husband, W.A. Walpole of Hodge; sons, C.E. Walpole and wife Cindy of Jonesboro, T.A. Walpole and wife Gayle of West Monroe and J.N. Walpole of New Orleans; sisters, Edith Staggs of Hodge, Johnnie Capps of Eros and Sue Anders of West Monroe; brother, Bobby Nalley and wife Florence of Quitman; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Chuck Walpole, Joe D. Dycus, Tom Walpole Jr., Stacey Walpole, Jeremy Walpole and Jody Crowell.

Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.
