John Patrick Percle, 77, of Irving, Texas , Passed away on Feb 11, 2005.
He was born May 16, 1927, in Vicksburg, Miss., and raised in Morgan City.
He was the son of the late Mertile and Mary Percle and was the beloved husband of Evelyn Beadle Percle for 54 years.
After high school he enlisted in Army Air Corps in World War II where he served time in Japan.
He was employed by Mobil Oil for 35 years including working offshore and in the Geophysical Lab in Dallas. He was an active member of the Fourth Degree of the Knights of Columbus Council 5243. He was a charter member of Holy Family of Nazareth Catholic Church in Irving, Texas .
He is survived by his loving wife, Evelyn Beadle Percle; two daughters, Judy Medaris, and Pamela Schultz and her husband, James; two sons, Rick Percle and his wife, Toni, and Bryan Percle; and five grandchildren, Chad Medaris and his wife, Christine, Eric Medaris and his wife, Jennifer, Travis Schultz, Kim Percle and Matt Percle.
A rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, with the funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Family Catholic Church in Irving, Texas .
Arrangements are being coordinated by Donnelly’s Funeral Home at 1606 W. Airport Freeway, Irving, TX 75061

Charles Benton Evans Jr., 41, a native of Morgan City and lifelong resident of Berwick, died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2005, at 12:50 p.m. at his residence.
Charles’ whole life revolved around his family and friends, and he never refused to give a helping hand to anyone that was in need. He was a Tugboat Captain and worked on the water all his life, since the age of 15. Shrimping, fishing and hunting are what he enjoyed most in life.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed Thursday from 9-11 a.m. at Ibert’s Mortuary in Patterson.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the mortuary, with the Rev. Randy Plessala Sr. officiating. interment will follow in Ibert’s Memorial Park Cemetery.
He is survived by his four children, Charles Anthony Evans, Kimberly Evans, Brandy Stuchel and Michael Broxon, all of Berwick; his parents, Jessie and Charles B. Evans Sr., of Berwick; his brother, Chris Charles Evans of Berwick; his maternal grandmother, Myrl Vicknair of Bayou Vista; one nephew and many aunts and uncles.
Charles was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Kimbell and Loraine Evans; maternal grandfather, Clarence Miller; and step-grandfather, Norman G. Vicknair.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary Inc. in Patterson (985) 395-7873.

Thomas Patrick Hogan
November 22, 1934 — February 12, 2005
Thomas Patrick Hogan, 70, a native and resident of Morgan City, died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2005, at Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Morgan City and retired from Streva Distributing Co. after 28 years of service.
He was the son of the late Camille “Pat” Hogan and the late Marie Rita (Soumeillan) Hogan.
He is survived by his two sisters, Marion Bergeron and her husband, Oliver J. Bergeron, of Morgan City and Kathleen Landry of Metairie; nephews, Tim Bergeron, Blair Bergeron, Brent Bergeron, Craig Bergeron and Cliff Bergeron; nieces, Mary Alice LeBlanc and Kathleen Ann Bergeron; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; and numerous great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
The family will receive friends from 8:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2005, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Funeral services will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Morgan City beginning at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2005, with Father Sabino Rebosura II officiating. interment will be at Morgan City Cemetery in Morgan City.

Ruby Marie Jett, 77, a native of Berwick and resident of Morgan City, Passed away Feb. 15, 2005, at Ochsner Foundation in New Orleans.
She was born to the late Hugh and Lillian Taylor on Feb. 2, 1928.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 58 wonderful years, James “Jimmy” Jett; her son, Jimmy Jett III and his wife, Cathy Jett, of Abbeville; her daughter, Lisa Boudreaux and her husband, Francis Boudreaux, of Morgan City; her sister, Alice LaRocca of Morgan City; and her brother, Mickey Adams of Berwick.
She also is survived by her loving grandchildren, James “Jamey” Jett III, Stephen Boudreaux and Kristi Jett; and her two great-grandchildren, Lila Jett and Taylor Jett.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her grandparents.
A time of remembrance and reflection will be observed today, Feb. 16, 2005, at Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City from 6-10 p.m.
Visitation will resume Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005, at the funeral home from 8-9:30 a.m. with a dismissal to the church.
Funeral services will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Morgan City at 10 a.m. She will be laid to her eternal rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Tamika Marie Alexander, 26, a native and resident of Charenton, died Saturday, Feb. 12, at Franklin Foundation Hospital.
Visitation will be Saturday at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Burial rites will be read at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church on Saturday at 1 p.m. interment will be at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
Survivors include her mother and stepfather, Sandra Alexander Bourgeois and Christopher Bourgeois of Jackson ville, Fla.; Her father, Henry Cooper of Atlanta; her companion, Abdula Hurst of Franklin; her daughter, Talaya Alexander of Charenton; her brother, Eron Cooper of Jackson ville, Fla.; and her maternal grandmother, Selena Alexander of Charenton.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, both paternal grandparents and two uncles.
Jones Funeral Home in Franklin has been entrusted with funeral arrangements.

Shirley Jane Polston Thompson
March 23, 1942 — February 20, 2005
Shirley Jane Polston Thompson, 62, a native of St. Louis, Mo., and resident of Berwick, died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2005, at Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City. She was a member of Twin City Gospel Temple.
Shirley loved life and lived it to the fullest. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother, and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her and each life that she touched in her own special way.
She was the daughter of the late Virgil Polston and the late Jane Fox Polston.
She is survived by her husband of over 12 years, Todd Thompson of Berwick; one daughter, Pamela Hubler of Morgan City; one stepdaughter, Morgan Thompson of Baton Rouge; two sons, Lonnie Stratton Sr. and his wife, Amy, of Patterson, and Ernest Stratton Jr. of Berwick; one brother, Russell Polston and his wife, Patsy, of Mexico, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Cade Guidry, Jason Hubler, Nicole Hubler, Natasha Sheets, Allen Sheets, Carrie Hubler and Lonnie Stratton Jr.; one step-grandson, Gabriel Thompson; and longtime friends, Ernest Stratton Sr. and his wife, Elaine.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Kenneth Polston; and one sister, Barbara Willis.
The family will receive friends from 6-10 p.m. today, Feb. 22, 2005, at Twin City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at Twin City Funeral Home in Morgan City at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2005, with the Rev. Charles Driskill officiating. interment will be at the Morgan City Cemetery.

Perry James Tabor Sr., 47, a native of Morgan City and resident of Bayou Vista, died Saturday at his residence.
He was Baptist by faith.
He is survived by his wife, Hilda “Lollie” Tabor of Bayou Vista; two daughters, Jacelyn Daigle and Tayla Tabor, both of Bayou Vista; two sons, Bryan Lombas and Perry Tabor Jr., both of Bayou Vista; two brothers, Cornelius “C.J.” Tabor of Metairie and Thomas Tabor of Morgan City; and a stepfather, Roland Tabor of Gibson.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family will receive friends from 5-10 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Twin City Funeral Home in Morgan City.
Funeral services will be at Twin City Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Frank Pellissier officiating.
interment will be at Berwick Cemetery.

Kiilu “Mickey” Smith
Nov. 8, 1939 – Feb. 18, 2005
Kiilu Smith, known to all as “Mick,” 65, sadly passed at his residence, Friday, Feb. 18, 2005.
A native and resident of Morgan City, he was a cement finisher by trade for over 40 years.
Mick loved life and embraced all aspects with true passion. He had a green thumb when it came to his plants and gardens. Those who knew Mick enjoyed his flair for life in his cooking, his style of dress and his philosophy of life. He touched so many with his smile and views of life. He was a trendsetter with his dreadlocks and Jamaican style. When one met Mickey, they weren’t likely to forget him. He will truly be missed.
He leaves behind his girlfriend, Victoria Stevens of Morgan City; his four sons, Dwayne Smith of San Bernadino, Calif., Joel Smith and his wife, Aina, and Dameion Koski Smith, all of Compton, Calif., and Nigel Smith of Morgan City; his daughter, Keita Palmer Del-Valle’ and her husband, Anthony, of Corona, Calif.; and his two grandsons, Cambry and Caison Del-Valle’.
He also leaves his sisters, Jeanette “Sis” Palmer and her husband, Charles, and Carol Green and her husband, Charles, all of Los Angeles; and a host of nieces and nephews.
His stepchildren include two sons, Santiago and Darrin Peraza, both of Morgan City; and his stepdaughter, Cecilia Crochet and her husband, Andrew, of Berwick.
Mickey will be greeted by Jocelynn Smart and other family members that preceded him in passing, his parents, Isaiah and Hannah Smith; brothers, Charles and Patrick Smith; and sister, Sarah Smith.
The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2005, in the chapel of Jones Funeral Home in Morgan City.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Ronnie Bias delivering a Christian service. Cremation will follow.
Jones Funeral Home in Morgan City is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Aurora Marceaux Smith
Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. Aurora Marceaux Smith, 77, at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2005, at Evangeline Funeral Home chapel in New Iberia. The Rev. Michael Robicheaux, pastor of Coteau Holmes Full Gospel Church, will officiate. interment will follow in the Gueydan Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be observed today from 6-10 p.m. and resume Tuesday at 8 a.m.
A native of Morse and resident of Coteau Holmes, Mrs. Smith Passed away at 10:50 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005, at Iberia Medical Center with her family at her side.
Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and faithful member of the Coteau Holmes Full Gospel Church.
Survivors include her 12 children, Wilfred Marceaux, Clifton Smith, Albert Hanks, and Cleveland Smith and wife, Judy, all of Coteau Holmes, Rose Bagwell and husband, Sammy, of Morgan City, Johnny Smith and wife, Gayle, of Troup, Texas , Mary Housley of Cade, Allen Smith of Lake Arthur, Laura LeJeune and husband, David, of Bayou Vista, Alvin Smith of New Iberia, Clarence Smith and wife, Crystal, of Breaux Bridge and Ronnie Smith and wife, Shantell, of Franklin; 23 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and her twin sister, Laura Adams of Crowley.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lessin Smith; second husband, Jules Smith; one son, Irvin Smith; two brothers, Asa and Alvin Marceaux; and three sisters, Rose Smith, Melba Bonin and Mary Smith.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie, Alvin, Cleveland, Allen, Johnny and Clarence Smith and Albert Hanks.
Evangeline Funeral Homes, 314 East Saint Peter Street, New Iberia (337) 364-1881 is in charge of arrangements.
