John Douglas Smith, 69, a native of Morgan City and a resident of Renton, Wash., died Wednesday, Oct. 1, at 10:26 p.m. at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Seattle.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Walmsley United Methodist Church in Morgan City.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at the church with burial following in the Morgan City Mausoleum.
He is survived by his wife, Carrie Mae Myles Smith of Renton, Wash.; four sons, John Warner Smith of Baton Rouge, Kirk Smith of Houston, Leslie Smith of Salinas, Calif., and Brian Smith of Baytown, Texas ; one adopted son, Glen Smith of Renton, Wash.; three stepsons, Glen Hebert and Terry Hebert, both of Everett, Wash., and Shawn Hebert of Renton, Wash.; three daughters, Sherry Williams of Patterson and Lesia Smith and Adrienne Smith, both of Houston; one stepdaughter, Anita Rogers of Renton, Wash.; six brothers, Fred Smith of Las Vegas, Harold Smith of Atlanta, Ralph Smith of Missouri City, Texas , Gregory Smith of Spring, Texas , and Rodney Smith and Darrel Smith, both of Baton Rouge; one sister, Doris Caliste of Biloxi, Miss.; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Otis Mortuary in Franklin is in charge of arrangements.

Virgil Howard, 32, a native and resident of Franklin, died Sunday at 4:30 p.m. at Franklin Foundation Hospital.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Jones Funeral Home in Franklin.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in the Franklin Cemetery.
He is survived by his parents, Frank Howard and Gloria Howard, both of Franklin; two sons, Dedrick Brown and Tyler Howard, both of Franklin; one daughter, Brittany Howard of Franklin; three brothers, Terry Howard of Amarillo, Texas , Victor Howard of Corpus Christi, Texas and Lane Howard of Franklin; and two sisters, Rose Howard of Patterson and Betty H. Flournoy of Dallas.
Jones Funeral Home in Morgan City is in charge of arrangements.

Joseph Etainne "Jody" Richard Jr., 51, a native of Morgan City and resident of Stephensville, died Tuesday, April 6, 2004, at Chabert Medical Center in Houma.
He was a member of Healing Streams Ministries.
"Jody" loved life and enjoyed many things, including building model homes and boats, and cooking. He loved working with his hands and could fix anything. His family will remember him as someone who wanted everybody to be happy.
He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
He was the son of the late Joseph Richard and the late Mary Lombas Richard.
He is survived by his daughter, Chantel Marie Theriot Rock and her husband, Frank, of Morgan City; four sisters, Sharon "Sue Sue" Hiles and her husband, Wayne, of Stephensville, Joe Ann Blanchard and her husband, Nilton, of Belle River, Josephine "Beachie" Aucoin and her husband, Lloyd, of Stephensville, and Brenda Comeaux and her husband, Jessie, of Gibson; four brothers, Ward Businelle and his wife, Dale, of Calumet, Gary "Butch" Businelle and his wife, Barbara, of Wyoming, Kim Richard and his wife, Melinda, of Belle River, and Eugene "Butch" Grant and his wife, Jackie, of Arkansas; one other sister-in-law, Linda Businelle; one grandchild, Austin Rock of Morgan City; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Douglas Businelle Sr., James Businelle and Sammy Richard; a sister, Lilly Mae Businelle; three nieces, Ronell Blanchard, Kathy Ann Aucoin and Lisa Ann Businelle; and one nephew, Lloyd James Vidos.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. today, April 7, 2004, at Twin City Funeral Home in Morgan City.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 8, 2004, at the funeral home with the Rev. Bert Carter officiating.
interment will be at the Morgan City Cemetery.
Twin City Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Olla Nicole Prevot, 24, a native and resident of Patterson, died June 2 at University Medical Center in Lafayette.
Visitation will be Saturday from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Jones Funeral Home in Morgan City.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Jones Funeral Home with burial in the Shields Cemetery in Patterson.
She is survived by her mother, Mary Prevot Mitchell, of Patterson; stepfathers Charles Mitchell Jr. of Jeanerette and Keith Mitchell of Patterson; four brothers, Sebastian Prevot of Lafayette and Jarvis Mitchell, Matthew Mitchell and Jimmy Mitchell, all of Patterson; a stepbrother, Charles Mitchell III, of Verdunville; a stepsister, Mrs. Russell (Chawanna) Gunner of Patterson; and a host of aunts, uncles, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, her father, two brothers and a son.

James Ronald Adkins, 57, a native of Shelbyville, Tenn., born Sept. 13, 1946, and a resident of Berwick, Passed away June 16, 2004, at his residence.
Visitation will be observed today from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City. Visitation will resume Saturday at the funeral home from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. with a dismissal to St. Stephen Catholic Church in Berwick.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. and will be officiated by the Rev. Paul Bienvenu. interment will follow in the Berwick Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Glen Kern, Wayne Eastling, Ken Keton, Leroy Gonzales, Ronnie Estay and Gus Arnould. Honorary pallbearers will be George "Cowboy" Rosson, C.P. Ortis, Dave Broussard, Hal Bruni, Darryl Chauvin and Larry Moon.
Mr. James Adkins is survived by his loving wife, Connie Dragna Adkins; his loving step-parents, O.B. and Rena Watson; his son, Scott Adkins, and his three children from Atlanta; his daughter, Connie A. Grizzaffi, and her two children and their father, Leo Grizzaffi, of Stephensville; his daughter, Sherry Dinger, of Baton Rouge; his daughter, Jamie, and her husband, Mike Swords, and their three children of Berwick; his sisters, Derinda Cantrell of Tennessee, Charleen Tholen of Berwick, and Darlene Hughes of Morgan City; his brothers, Frank Maddix of Morgan City, Billy Boswell of San Antonio, and Walter Boswell of Morgan City.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Irene Smith and Robert Adkins; his son, Russell Adkins; and his brother, Ricky Watson.
Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Rita Mae Stansbury, 81, a native and resident of Morgan City, died Sunday in Morgan City.
Funeral services were held Monday at 11 a.m. at Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City. Burial was in the Morgan City Cemetery.
She is survived by her sisters, Ella Ruth Mensman and Rose Ann Williams, both of Morgan City, Rebecca Emeline Aucoin of Port Allen, Wanzie Cousin of Marrero and Carolyn Jean Darce of Baton Rouge; and her brothers, Owen Oneill Stansbury, Dirk Danial Stansbury and Jack Andrew Stansbury, all of Morgan City.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.
Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City was in charge of arrangements.

Sam Russo, 87, a resident and native of Berwick, died Saturday, Aug. 2, 2003.
Visitation was held today from noon until 2 p.m. at Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel with burial in the Morgan City Cemetery.
He is survived by two daughters, Marcia Wilkes of Morgan City and Mrs. Gary (Mary) Driskill of Slidell; two sisters, Catherine Russo of Berwick and Lucille Lasseigne of Berwick; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was retired from Union Oil where he was a crane operator.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rita B. Russo, his parents, three brothers and three sisters.

Odette Simoneaux Naquin, 87, a native and lifelong resident of Franklin, died Monday at 4:45 p.m. at Franklin Foundation Hospital.
Visitation will be held Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Church of the Assumption in Franklin. A rosary will be said at 12:30 p.m. Friday at the church.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Perpetual Park Cemetery in Franklin.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Clarence Joseph Naquin of Franklin; two sons, Lionel Joseph Naquin of Belle Rose and Gary Paul Naquin of Arnaudville; three daughters, Linda Rae Naquin Duke of Morgan City and Jo Ann Naquin Rogers and Donna Lee Naquin Haydel, both of Franklin; one brother, Merlin Simoneaux of Franklin; one sister, Beryl B. Louviere of Franklin; 16 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, eight brothers and three sisters.
Ibert’s Mortuary in Franklin is in charge of arrangements.

George Anthony Rebardie Sr., 92, a resident of Berwick and a native of Morgan City, born March 31, 1911, Passed away Feb. 2, 2004, at his residence in Berwick.
Visitation will be observed today from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City. Visitation will resume Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2004 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Hargrave Chapel in Morgan City. Elder Larry Daigle will officiate. Burial will follow in the Berwick Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rodney Lodrigue, Daren Lodrigue, Shane LeBlanc , Branden Leger, Chancy Clark and Hilton Rebardi Jr.
Mr. Rebardie is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years and 10 months, Annie Marie Blanchard Rebardie; three sons and daughters-in-law, George A. Rebardie Jr. and Enora of Morgan City, Larry "Rumbo" Rebardie and Virginia of Missouri and Harry "Putt" Rebardie and Lillian of Amelia; two daughters and one son-in-law, Joyce Ann Rebardie of Berwick and Anna Mae "Tee Dee" Lodrigue and Rodney of Bayou Vista.
He also is survived by two sisters, Telria "Toe Toe" Lodrigue of Berwick and Della "Da Da" Driskill of Berwick; and one brother, Ignace "Enis" Rebardie of Morgan City; 18 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, three sisters, two brothers and his parents.

Kevin Gerard Jones, 43, a native and resident of Morgan City, died Saturday at 10:15 p.m. at his residence.
Visitation will be observed Thursday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Mt. Era Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the church with burial in the Morgan City Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Cora Lee Jones of Franklin; his mother, Vera W. Jones of Morgan City; four daughters, Theresa Wallace of Franklin and Demetra Wallace, Ora Wallace and Ceola Wallace, all of Morgan City; four sisters, Mrs. James (Carolyne) Gash Sr. of Morgan City, Mrs. Ronald (Veronica) Johnson of Patterson and Mrs. Michael (Dannette) Hawkins and Mrs. Stanley (Joell) Bobb, both of Morgan City; four brothers, Troy Jones of Newport, R.I., Dwight Jones of Houston and Mark Jones Sr. and Isaac D. Jones, both of Morgan City; and three grandchildren.
Jones Funeral Home of Morgan City is in charge of arrangements.

James E. "Peanut" Sennette
Former Patterson Police Chief James E. "Peanut" Sennette, 72, a native of Verdunville and resident of Patterson, died Tuesday at 9:50 a.m. at his residence.
He was a police officer with the Patterson Police Department for 21 years and served as assistant police chief and police chief for more than eight years.
Visitation will be Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Good Hope Baptist Church in Patterson.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Good Hope with burial in the Shields Cemetery in Patterson.
The East St. Mary Veterans Funeral Squad will conduct military services in honor of their comrade.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen L. Sennette of Patterson; three daughters, Karen May and Kathleen Grogan, both of Patterson, and Kimbla Williams of Opelousas; two brothers, Bernie Sennette of Fairfield, Calif., and Milton Sennette of Berkeley, Calif.; one sister, Janice Simpson of Berkeley, Calif.; six grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.
