Samuel "Sam" Elmore, 70, a resident of Morgan City, died Wednesday in Houma. He was employed by Bollinger Marine Fabrication for six years and by McDermott for 23 years. He retired from the U.S. Navy after 24 years of service. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at Lewis Funeral Home in Magnolia, Ark. Burial will be in the Philadelphia Cemetery in Magnolia, Ark. He is survived by his wife, Kay Elmore; one son, Dale Dunham; two daughters, Pam Hyatte and Allison Whittington; two brothers, Britton Elmore and Barge Elmore; and one sister, Belvern "Jack" James. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and five sisters. Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City is in charge of local arrangements.

Martha Lecamu, 86, a native of Monroe and resident of Morgan City, died Saturday, Aug. 2, 2002. Visitation will be today from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and will resume Tuesday at 8 a.m. at Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City. Funeral services, the Rev. Paul Wilson officiating, will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Morgan City Mausoleum. She is survived by two brothers-in-law, Lloyd Lecamu and Luzin Lecamu and his wife, Annie Lecamu, all of Bayou Vista. She was preceded in death by her husband, Levice Lecamu; her parents; two brothers; and one sister. Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City is in charge of arrangements.

Beatrice Mary Liner, 77, born Dec. 14, 1926, a native of Liner’s Canal and resident of Morgan City, Passed away Feb. 1, 2004, at Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City.
Visitation will be observed today from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City with a rosary at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume Tuesday at 8 a.m. Funeral services Tuesday will begin at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Morgan City. interment will follow in the Morgan City Cemetery. Mrs. Liner was a longtime housekeeper at Lakewood Medical Center, a member of the AARP St. Mary Chapter and she was a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea. She is survived by one son, Frank McGonagill and his wife, Sheli, of Berwick; five sisters, Gladys Henry of Morgan City, Anne Lott of Lafayette, Beverly Valdes of New Orleans, Eileen Liner of Avondale and Wilda Moreau of Bayou Vista; five brothers, Andrew Liner of Franklin, Jimmy Liner of Patterson, Roy Liner of New Orleans, Karl Liner of Bayou Vista and Raymond Liner of Franklin. She also is survived by three grandchildren, Shannon McGonagill, Maddi McGonagill and Tristan McGonagill; 63 nieces and nephews and her very close family friend, Debbie Leonard of Bayou Vista. She was preceded in death by her parents, Aurthur and Liza Liner; her husband, Joseph Vidrine; and four brothers, J.C. Liner, Collins Liner, Golden Liner and James Liner. Hargrave Funeral Home in MorganCity has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Louise Della "Taunt Dod" Gaspard, 86, a native and resident of Belle River, died Tuesday, April 6, 2004, at Jackson Manor in Jonesboro. She was a member of Church of God of Prophecy in Belle River. She was the daughter of the late Frank Gaspard and the late Louisiana Leonard Gaspard. She is survived by four nephews, Randall Gaspar of Texas , Honory Gaspard of Belle River, Curtis Gaspard of Pierre Part and Carl Gaspard of Belle River; nine nieces, Mildred Raggio of Baton Rouge, Gaydell Simmons of Morgan City, Susie Sanford of Morgan City, Frankie Groves of Mississippi, Ebe Lambert of Belle River, Ezelle Grissom of Mississippi, Leola Lofton of Chatham, Sue Gaspard of Morgan City and Letetia Blanchard of Belle River. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, and six brothers, Philip Gaspard, Pierre Gaspard, Frank Gaspard Jr., Paul Gaspard, Ellis Gaspard and John Gaspard; and two sisters, Anna Himel and E. Frozien. The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. today, April 7, 2004, at Church of God of Prophecy in Belle River. Visitation will resume at 9 a.m. Thursday and continue until service time at the church. Funeral services will begin at 4 p.m. Thursday, April 8, 2004, at Church of God of Prophecy, with the Rev. Tony Pittman officiating. interment will be at Church of God of Prophecy Cemetery in Belle River. Twin City Funeral Home in Morgan City has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Dorothy "Dot" Carver Roberts, 71, a native of Gadsden, Ala., and resident of Morgan City, died Saturday, June 19, 2004, at her residence in Morgan City. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Morgan City since the late ‘60s. She was a past member of the Eastern Star and past member of the Krewe of Galatea. She enjoyed arts and crafts and cooking. She loved to travel and would take trips to Hawaii several times a year. She loved children, which was evident by the countless hours of volunteer work she gave to Immanuel Christian School in Morgan City. She loved life and lived it to the fullest, pouring her energies into that which she loved most, her family. Her passion was raising her grandson and spending time with the love of her life and soulmate for over 44 years, her husband, James "Slick" Roberts. James and Dot founded and own Master Electric Service Co. in Morgan City. She was the daughter of the late Leroy Carver and Alberta Harris Carver of Morgan City. She is survived by her husband of over 44 years, James O. "Slick" Roberts of Morgan City; two daughters, Leisha Abrams of Cumming, Ga., and Julie Bridge and her companion, Terrance Holcombe of Morgan City; one son, Patrick Glen Roberts of Morgan City; a sister, Patricia Banicky of Morgan City; two brothers, Leroy Carver and his wife, Sue, of Pascagoula, Miss., and Leland Carver and his wife, Gladyce of Longview, Texas ; three grandchildren, Christopher Bridge, Melissa Abrams and Michael Abrams. She was preceded in death by her father, Leroy Carver. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. today at Twin City Funeral Home in Morgan City. Funeral services will be at Twin City at 5 p.m. today with Dr. Roderick Theiring officiating. Mrs. Roberts’ wishes were that she be cremated. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be directed to the American Cancer Society in her honor. Twin City Funeral Home in Morgan City has been entrusted with the arrangements.

John Brisco, 42, a native of Lafayette and resident of Morgan City, died Monday at 4:13 p.m. at Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City. Visitation will be Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Church of Christ in Franklin. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Franklin Cemetery. He is survived by his father, Essix Brisco of Baldwin; two brothers, Michael Brisco of Baldwin and Richard Brisco of Morgan City; and three sisters, Neoami Brisco of Dallas, Essie Mae Brisco Wells of New Iberia and Donna Marie B. Short of Franklin. Jones Funeral Home in Morgan City is in charge of arrangements.

Annie Mae T. Campbell, 83, a resident of Kaplan, died Wednesday at Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City. Funeral services were held today at 2 p.m. at Vincent Funeral Home in Kaplan. Burial was in the Kaplan Cemetery. She is survived by two sons, Vernice Campbell of Abbeville and Charles Campbell of Patterson; two brothers, Willis Trahan of Abbeville and Leo Trahan of Port Neches, Texas ; one sister, Bernice Simon of Sulphur; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband. Vincent Funeral Home in Kaplan was in charge of arrangements.

Jeffrey Albert Aucoin, 19, a native of Houma and resident of Bogalusa, died Saturday, Aug. 2, in Bogalusa. Visitation will be Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City. Funeral services will begin at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the St. Andrew Cemetery in Amelia. He is survived by his father, Lucien James Aucoin of Morgan City; one sister, Christina Aucoin of Bayou L’Ourse; two brothers, James Casey Aucoin and Bret James Legnon, both of Bayou L’Ourse; and his paternal grandmother, Doris Aucoin. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Victor Aucoin; and a first cousin, Victor Joseph Aucoin. Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City is in charge of arrangements.

Emily Robicheaux Guidry, 81, a native and resident of Centerville, died Sunday at Our Lady of Lourdes in Lafayette. Visitation will be observed from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at Ibert’s Mortuary in Franklin, and resume at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Centerville, the Rev. Kenneth Mayne officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Guidry is survived by one son, Roy "Buck" Guidry of Centerville; one daughter, Gail Guidry of Centerville; one brother, Joe Robicheaux Jr. of Centerville; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers and one grandson. Arrangements were entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary in Franklin.

H.J. "Jim" Lee Jr., 69, Passed away Nov. 29, 2003, at his home in Bayou Vista, following a courageous battle with cancer. Public visitation was held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City. Visitation resumed this morning before dismissal at 10:30 a.m. A memorial tribute was held Dec. 1, 2003, prior to Masonic services at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Patterson, conducted by Monsignor Richard Green at 11 a.m. on Dec. 2. Trusted friends and fellow Masons of Lafayette Lodge 87 were pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Jim’s lifelong loving friends, Tom Dontay, Sidney Raymond and John Harrison II. Entombment was in the Morgan City Mausoleum. Jim is survived by his devoted wife of 42 years, Elinor L. Lee. He is the blessed father of four sons and daughters-in-law: James A. Lee (spouse, Cathy Premeaux) of West Palm Beach, Fla., Kenneth P. Lee (spouse, Donna Thibodaux) of Lafayette, Robert F. Lee (spouse, Shawn Brizzard) of West Palm Beach, Fla., Earl B. Lee (spouse, Lisa Derrick) of Baton Rouge; and one daughter and son-in-law, Mary Catherine Lee Stephens (spouse, Dan Stephens) of Bayou Vista. Jim is an Air Force veteran of the Korean War Conflict. He was a loyal Mason and current master of Lafayette Lodge 87 in Patterson where he devoted much time and efforts to the lodge’s Dyslexic Clinic for children in St. Mary Parish. Jim is also a 32nd degree Mason through the Baton Rouge Consistory and a member of the Jerusalem Temple which supports the Shriner’s Hospital for crippled and burned children in Louisiana . Jim spent many years as a salesman in the oil field industry in south Louisiana . Jim is the proud grandfather of 13 grandchildren and three great-grandsons. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Simon Lee-Briehn of Morgan City; his father, Herman J. Lee Sr. of St. Petersburg, Fla.; his brother, Weldon Briehn of Milton, Fla.; and his father- and mother-in-law, Paul and Catherine Lee of Bayou L’Ourse. The East St. Mary Funeral Squad honored him with military graveside services in which their comrade courageously gave of himself in defense of our great nation, with presentation of the American flag and a 21-gun salute. In lieu of flowers, Jim and his family strongly request memorial donations be made to either of the following: Lafayette Lodge 87 F&AM, P.O. Box 765, Patterson, LA 70392 for benefit of dyslexic clinic, or, Bayou Region Hospice, 1340 West Tunnel Blvd., Suite 310, Houma, LA 70360-2827. Nathan Williams, 60, a native of Lafayette and a resident of Franklin, died Saturday at 8:43 a.m. at Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City.
He was a veteran of the United States Army. Visitation will be held Saturday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Baptist Church in Franklin. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the church with burial following in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Eulie W. Williams of Franklin; two sons, Christopher Williams of Charenton and William Davis Jr. of Franklin; three daughters, Karen Williams of Charenton and Patricia Davis and Cheryl Davis, both of Franklin; two sisters, Idell Stokes of Franklin and Lillie L. Lee of New Orleans; one Godchild; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother. Jones Funeral Home in Franklin is in charge of arrangements.

Lilly Mary Adams, 47, a native of Berwick and resident of Morgan City, died Monday, March 29, 2004, at Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City.
She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Morgan City. She was the daughter of the late Maurice Adams and the late Henrietta Carpenter Adams.
She is survived by seven sisters, Fay Adam of Pearland, Texas , and her children, Meagan, Scott and Will; Emily Austin and her late husband, Harold, of Matthews, N.C., and their children, Kathy, Joanie and Dennis; Joe Etta Willeford of Houston, Texas , and her children, B.J. and Jason; Dee Miller of Reno, Nev., and her daughter, Dawn; Susie Motichek and her husband, John, of Madisonville, La., and their daughter, Jamie Lynn; Janet Ballard and her husband, Lloyd, of Odessa, Texas , and her children, Shawn and Tommy; and Molly Womack of Carencro and her children, Natalie and Troy. She also is survived by two brothers, Warren Adams and his wife, Lillian, of New Iberia and their children, Julie, Joshua and Donna; and Morris Adams and his wife, Janice, of Franklin, La. She was preceded in death by her parents, Maurice and Henrietta Adams; and twin brothers, Alcee and Atlas Adams.
A memorial service was held at Twin City Funeral Home in Morgan City on Monday, April 5, with the Rev. Jay Baker officiating.

Norman Russell Willis Jr., 43, a native of Morgan City, former resident of Franklin and a resident of Sulphur since 2000, died Tuesday in Sulphur.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Fowler Willis, of Sulphur; three daughters, Christy Angeron of Bayou Vista, Cheri Moncada of Tennessee and Brandi Willis of Franklin; his father, Norman Russell Willis Sr. of Franklin; his mother, Melba Lombas Willis of Franklin; two sisters Linda Willis of Sherman, Texas , and Sherry Willis of New Iberia; two step-sons, Barry Bonin Jr. of Sulphur and Fred Bonin of New Iberia; and six grandchildren. Funeral services were held this afternoon at Ibert’s Mortuary in Patterson, the Rev. Randy Plessala of Riverlife Revival Center officiating. interment followed in the Berwick Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary of Patterson.
