Della Authement Blanchard, 81, a native of Lafourche Parish and resident of Bayou Blue, died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 1999.
Visitation will be from 3 to 10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Friday at Samart Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Bayou Blue United Methodist Church, with burial in Rogers Cemetery.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Carl (Sandy Kay) Chauvin of Bayou Blue, and Rachel B. Pflug of Fort Worth, Texas ; three sons, Lance A. Blanchard of Mathews, Larry P. Blanchard of Missouri, and Lynn D. Blanchard of Bayou Blue; one brother, Norris Authement; 15 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Morris J. Blanchard; her parents, Wilfred and Annie Ovelia Savoie Authement; one brother, Clifford Authement; and one granddaughter, not named.
She was a member of Bayou Blue Methodist Church.
Ernest Joseph Daigle
Ernest Joseph Daigle, 86, a native of Gray and resident of Houma, died at 7:35 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6, 1999.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to funeral time Friday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with interment in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery.
He is survived by one son, Ernest P. Daigle of Houma; two daughters, Mrs. Gerald (Catherine) Giroir and Mrs. Roy (Patricia) Aucoin, both of Houma; one sister, Hazel D. Rathburn of Houma; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ivy Boudreaux Daigle; his parents, Albert and Lelia Montina Daigle; three brothers, Louis, Herbert and Randolph Daigle; six sisters, Agnes Doiron, Maggie Simoneaux, Jessie Dansereaux, Stella Montz, Daisy Hotard and Annie Petrie; and one granddaughter, Cindy Giroir.
He was a retired farmer and a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral.
Rose Aucoin Hebert
Rose Aucoin Hebert, 86, a native of New Iberia and resident of Thibodaux, died at 8:45 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6, 1999.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Friday at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church in Thibodaux. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.
She is survived by two sons, Ronald and Michael Hebert; two sisters, Esmae Hebert and Laurabel Bouton; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph L. Hebert; her parents, Joseph and Ednionia Broussard Aucoin; two brothers, not named; and two sisters, not named.
Horace Herrin
Horace Herrin, 91, a native of Russellville, Ala., and resident of Golden Meadow, died at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6, 1999.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to funeral time Friday at United Methodist Church in Golden Meadow. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the church, with burial in Cheramie Cemetery
in Galliano.
He is survived by one son, Harwell Herrin; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lady Ruth Herrin; and his parents, Bess Blair Herrin and Horace Herrin Sr.
He was an insurance agent for over 60 years, a member of the Masons and a member of United Methodist Church.
James Small
James Small, 50, a native and resident of Houma, died Friday, Oct. 1, 1999.
Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. to funeral time Friday at Community Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with burial in Union Benevolent Cemetery.
He is survived by his companion, Loria Little; one son, James Small Jr. of Houma; one daughter, Mrs. Damon (Stephanie) Skipper of Houma; one brother, Samuel Small Jr.; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ethel and Samuel Small Sr.
He was a truck driver for Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government.
Willie Joseph Trahan Sr.
Willie Joseph Trahan Sr., 74, a native of Terrebonne Parish and resident of Houma, died at 5:45 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6, 1999.
Visitation will be from 1 to 10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Friday at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Chauvin.
Mass will be at 1 p.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with interment in St. Joseph Mausoleum.
He is survived by two sons, Roy and Willie Trahan Jr.; one daughter, Patricia Ann Dupre; two brothers, Horace and Wilton Trahan; four sisters, Wilma Domangue, Rose Martin, Wilda Farkas and Viola Carrere; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorita Eva Voison Trahan; his parents, Alex J. and Louise Gautreaux Trahan; one daughter, Monica McKeon; two brothers, Louis and Alex J. Trahan Jr.; and three grandchildren, not named.
He was a retired fisherman and a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Donald John Usey, 56, a native and resident of Thibodaux, died at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 5, 1999.
Visitation was scheduled from 9 a.m. to funeral time today at Thibodaux Funeral Home. Funeral services were scheduled for 10 a.m. today at the funeral home, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.
He is survived by one son, Rory Usey; four brothers, Abel, Arlen, Chester and Ivy Usey; three sisters, Shirley Blanchard, Sherry Waguespack and Patricia Thibodeaux; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nelson and Ausloite Thibodeaux Usey; and one brother, Raymond Usey.
Rosa Lee Williams King Washington
Rosa Lee Williams King Washington , 73, a native of Terrebonne Parish and lifelong resident of Houma, died at 2 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, 1999, at Terrebonne General Medical Center.
Visitation will be from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Friday at Community Funeral Home and from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at New Rising Sun Baptist Church. Wake services will be at 8 p.m. Friday at the church. Dismissal services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.
She is survived by two daughters, Anne C. King and Dian E. Williams; one grandson, Casidy J.E. Williams; three brothers, Lawyer Williams Sr. and Lloyd Williams of Houma, and Paul Williams of Los Angeles, Calif.; five sisters, Daisy W. LeBlanc , Creacy W. Marshall, Elizabeth W. Perio and Dorothy Ann W. Coleman, all of Houma, and Eva W. Williams of Chicago, Ill.; one uncle, Joseph Price Sr.; two aunts, Martha W. Smith and Hester H. Brown of Houma; seven brothers-in-law; nine sisters-in-law; numerous nieces and nephews; and numerous cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie and Alice W. Williams; her first husband, Norman J. "Billy" King; her second husband, Jeff Washington Jr.; two brothers, Clarence Sam Williams Sr. and James "Jimmy" Williams Sr.; and three sisters, Gertrude W. Harding, Eddie Mae Williams and Zenobia Williams.
Mrs. Washington was a retired educator who taught in the Terrebonne Parish school system for 30 years, retiring in June 1981. She was a graduate of McDonough 35 of New Orleans and Leland College of Baker.
She was a member of J.J. Clement Chapter No. 15 Order of the Eastern Star, a member of AARP, a charter member of the Terrebonne Bayou Lions Club, a charter member of the Terrebonne Inner City Lions Club, a member of NAACP of Terrebonne Parish, a member of the Terrebonne Community Council and a member of the Union Citizens Club.
She was a founder and board member of Community Funeral Home in Houma, a member of the Junior Usher Board, a member of the Deaconess Board, a member of the Pastor Aide Club, a member of the Educational Committee and a member of New Rising Sun Baptist Church for more than 61 years.
She was also a member of the Retired Teachers Education Association, a member of Louisiana Retired Teachers Association and a member of the National Retired Teachers Association.
Community Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to funeral time Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Cottonport. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.
She is survived by one son, Darwin Armand of Houma; three brothers, James Rabalais of Corpus Christi, Texas , Herman Rabalais of Cottonport, and Allen Rabalais of Lafayette; two sisters, Nellie Farber of Eunice, and Sybil Sampsell of Corry, Pa.; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vance Joseph Armand; her parents, Oscar and Eunice Rabalais ; two sons, Larry Joseph and Paul Armand; two brothers, Armas and Dewey Armand; and two sisters, Emma Bordelon and Mittie Tassin.
She was a teacher at St. Mary's School in Cottonport for 35 years and a parishioner of St. Anthony's Catholic Church.
Edward "Mannie" Celestin
Edward "Mannie" Celestin, 87, a native of Terrebonne Parish and resident of Houma, died Sunday, Oct. 3, 1999.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Thursday at First Corinthian Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, with burial in Deweyville Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Jeff Celestin of Houma; one son, John "Hallet" Celestin; one sister, Carrie Victor of Houma; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Amelia Celestin; four brothers, George, Harrison, Daniel and Willie Celestin; and five sisters, Rosetta C. Wallace, Laura C. Morgan, Olivia C. LeBlanc , Louise C. Verrett and Clara C. Daniels.
He was a retired employee of Bellsouth and the Houma Bargain Store, a U.S. Army veteran, a choir member, a member of the Deacon Board and a member of First Corinthian Baptist Church.
