Pauline Dischler Roy
LAKE CHARLES – Pauline Dischler Roy, 76, died Sunday,Jan. 22, 2006, in a local care center.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Cathedral. She was a descendant of the first German families to settle in Roberts Cove. She worked for Louis Florist in Lake Charles. She was in the La.Engineering Social Auxiliary. She was a graduate of St. Joseph Catholic High in Rayne.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Monica Roy of Wesley Chapel, one brother, Martin Dischler, Rayne; and three sisters, Antonia Leger, of Branch, Mona Gossen, Lafayette, and Helen Robles of Diamond Head, Miss.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis C. Roy; and two sons, Dr. Michael Anthony Roy and Richard Regan Roy.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, in Immaculate Conception Cathedral. The Rev. Karl Fuslier will officiate
Burial will be in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles.
Pallbearers will be Roy Scobee, Bob Bartell, Walter Jesson, Jr., Keith Leger and Tim Mitchell.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Memorial service set
A memorial service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, 2006, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Carencro for Mrs. Barbara Matthews Mire, 67, of Scott, who died Friday, Dec. 23, 2005 at University Medical Center in Lafayette.
Father Bill Melancon will conduct the memorial service.
Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne will be in charge of funeral arrangements.

Anne Marie Gohn Brown
Rayne - Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 26, 2006, in Gossen Funeral Home Chapel for Anne Marie Gohn Brown, 66, who died Monday, January 23, 2006, at 10:42 p.m. in Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette.
interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery #2 Mausoleum.
Survivors include four daughters, Donna Melancon and husband Darrell, of Rayne, Inger Meche and husband Glen, of Rayne; two stepdaughters Catherine Brown, of Destreham, and Mary Irene White and husband Bruce, of Metaire; three sons, Steve Arceneaux and wife Claire, of Baton Rouge, Eric Arceneaux and wife Michelle, of Sioux City, Iowa; one stepson, Alan Brown and wife Dianne, of Baton Rouge; one brother, Olaf Gohn and wife Karin, of Bekkestua, Norway; and seventeen grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Murray Brown; two grandsons, David Melancon and Logan Meche; parents, Alf Eberhardt Gohn and Else Kvernstuen Gohn, and stepson Murray Robert Brown.
A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday.
The family requested that the visiting hours be observed Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. and Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until time of service.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Gossen Funeral Home Inc. of Rayne.

Patrick “Pat” DeRouen
Funeral services were held Saturday, January 14, 2006, in the Gossen Funeral Home Chapel for Patrick “Pat” DeRouen, 70, who died Thursday, January 12, 2006, in Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.
Monsignor Russell Harrington conducted the services.
Survivors include his treasured wife of 52 years, Dolores H. DeRouen, of Rayne; two sons, Steve DeRouen, of Rayne, and Pat DeRouen, Jr. and wife Jackie, of Fordoche; two daughters, Judi DeRouen, of Tucson, Ariz., and Michelle D. Muir, of Houston; nine grandchildren, Telly Daigle and wife , Amanda, of Tucuson, Ariz., Cy Daigle and wife Monica, of Tucson, Ariz., Kristan and Brennan, of Fordoche, Angelle Mouton, of Scott, Daniel Mouton, of Houston, Sara Muir, of Houston, Ashley and Jeffery DeRouen, of Rayne; one great-granddaughter, Layla Nicole Daigle, of Tucson, Ariz.; two brothers, Donnie DeRouen and wife Bea, of Scott, and Siggie DeRouen and wife, Sandra, of Duson.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Peggy DeRouen; parents, Percy and Clementine Trahan DeRouen; and two grandsons, Devin and Chad DeRouen.
DeRouen was founder of Elco Electric, Inc. in 1958, which consists of building footballs fields street lighting statewide. He began underground irrigation in the 70’s and was instrumental in bringing PVC fabrication into that field as President/Owner of Plastics Inc. of Rayne, Eagle Pass, Texas , and Piedras Negras, Mexico, from 1972 to 2001. He re-entered the business world as President/Owner of DeRouen Plastic Inc. in 2003 to this day.
Mr. Pat enjoyed traveling, exotic game hunting, raising farm animals and roses.
Memorial donations can be made in his name to St. Jude Hospital in Memphis, Tenn., and Hospice of Acadiana in Lafayette.
Visitation was observed Friday from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. until service time.
A rosary was prayed at 6 p.m. Friday.
Arrangements were entrusted to Gossen Funeral Home Inc. of Rayne.

Stephen E. Falcon
Duson - Funeral services were held Saturday, January 14, 2006, at a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Theresa Catholic Church for Stephen E. Falcon, 89, who died Wednesday, January 11, 2006, in Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.
interment was in St. Theresa Cemetery in Duson.
Survivors include his son, R. Steve Falcon, of Crowley; one granddaughter, Rene Andrew, of Hoffman, Texas ; one greatgrandson, Robert L. Andrew, of Hoffman, Texas ; one great-great-grandson, DaKoda Andrew, of Hoffman, Texas ; a long-time friend, Amedia Bower, of Scott-Duson area; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Hazel M. Falcon; second wife, Yvonne D. Falcon; parents, Andrew Falcon and Felicia Moore Falcon; three sisters, Anita Arceneaux, Alfreda Arsement, and Ovelia Myers; and three brothers, Wilfred Falcon, Roy Falcon, and Alton Falcon.
Mr. Falcon was born between Rayne and Duson, lived in Houston for several years before he and his first wife moved back to Louisiana . He and his second wife owned the Burger Chef in New Iberia.
A rosary was recited at 7:00 p.m. Friday in St. Theresa Church Hall in Duson.
The family requested that the visiting be at St. Theresa Church Hall in Duson Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until time of service.
Arrangements were entrusted to Gossen Funeral Home Inc. of Rayne.

Lynn Joseph Richard
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, 2006, in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Mr. Mike Clark officiating, for Lynn Joseph Richard, 77, of Slaughter, La., who died at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, 2006, in the Zachary Manor Nursing Home in Zachary.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery No. 2.
Visitation was observed on Friday from 3 to 10 p.m. and on Saturday from 8 a.m. until time of services.
He is survived by three daughters, Lisa Brown, Colorado Springs, Colo., Sherlyn Sullivan, Slaughter, and Charlotte Hall, Ethel; one brother, John Richard, Lake Charles; and five grandchildren.
Mr. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Horona Richard and Mrs. Inia Broussard Richard; two brothers, Joe and Oville Richard; and two sisters, Zena Bahr and Elemao Thibodeaux.
Mr. Richard served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Murley Hernandez LeBlanc
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 16, 2006, at a Mass of Christian in Gossen Funeral Home Chapel for Murley Hernandez LeBlanc , 78, who died Saturday, January 14, 2006, at Medical Center of Southwest Louisiana in Lafayette.
interment was in St. Joseph Cemetery #2.
Survivors include her husband, Don Louis LeBlanc , of Rayne; daughter, Susie LeBlanc Helo and husband Henry “Hank”, of Rayne; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Blake and husband Ryan, of Rayne, Henry Helo III and wife Summer, of Crowley, and Amy Richard and husband Chris, of Rayne; two great-grandchildren, Julia Blake and James Blake, of Rayne; two brothers, Turney Hernandez, New York, Delaware, and Dr. Tim Hernandez, of Baton Rouge; and one sister, Lilly Peterson, of Lafayette.
She was preceded in death by one son, Donnie J. LeBlanc ; parents, Saul Hernandez and Bertha Lagneaux Hernandez; three brothers, Dr. Thomas Hernandez, Dr. Travis Hernandez, and Theo Hernandez.
A rosary was recited at 7:00 p.m. Sunday.
The family requested that the visiting hours be observed Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. and Monday from 8:00 a.m. until service time.
Arrangements were entrusted to Gossen Funeral Home Inc. of Rayne.

Robert Lee Guidry
Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 7, 2006, at 1 p.m. in St. Michael Catholic Church, with Father Avelino Vale officiating, for Robert Guidry Guidry, 60, of Crowley, who died at his residence at 4 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, 2006.
Visitation began at 10 a.m. Saturday until time of services.
Burial was in the Arceneaux Cemetery in Mire.
He is survived by two daughters, Chrystal Cormier, and Alicia Guidry, both of Rayne; five sisters, Alice Guidry, Tennessee, Shirley Guidry, Alexandria, Lois Bergeron, Sulphur; and Gloria Guidry and Georgia Guidry, both of California; nine brothers, Darrell and Daniel Guidry, both of Church Point; Donald Guidry, Indian Bayou; Danny Guidry, Lafayette, Lloyd Guidry, Crowley; Patrick and Michael Guidry, Tennessee; John Guidry, Welch and Claude Guidry, Sulphur; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Guidry was preceded in death by his parents, Romaine and Mary Doucet Guidry; and two sisters, Melba G. Blanchard and Betty Guidry.
Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne was put in charge of the funeral arrangement.

Mary Mabel Vidal
Rayne - Funeral services were held Monday, January 9, 2005 at 10:30 am at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church for Mary Mable Vidal, 79, who Passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2005 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.
interment were at the church cemetery. Visitation was held Monday, January 9, 2005, at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church from 8 a.m. until time of services.
Syrie Funeral Home, Inc. is in charge of arrangements.

Milton Thibodeaux
Funeral services were held on January 2, 2006, at St. Edmond Catholic Church in Lafayette for Milton Thibodeaux, 83, who Passed away on December 29, 2005.
Entombment was in Fountain Memorial Cemetery in Lafayette.
A native of Acadia Parish, Mr. Thibodeaux was employed for 31 years by Texas Gas. During World War II as a member of the U. S. Navy, a torpedo attack sank his ship the USS Block Island CVE21. He was rescued hours later from the waters of the Pacific by a U.S. escort ship. Many of his shipmates perished during the attack.
Mr. Thibodeaux was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, was a Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus and was a member of CFMA (Cajun French Music Association).
Survivors include his wife, Bertha Mae Myers Thibodeaux of Lafayette: one daughter, Pam Clark and her spouse, Hollis of Scott: two sons, Terry Thibodeaux and his spouse Janice of Independence, and Keith Thibodeaux and his spouse, Kathy of Scott. He is also survived by two sisters, Verna Lou Miller and her spouse Freddie of Rayne and Anna Mae Leger and her spouse Allen of Iota, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oura and Philip Thibodeaux; and two sisters, Sybil T. Miller and Eva Ruth “Tipsy” T. Kisinger.
Mr. Thibodeaux will be remembered for his sense of humor and his love of dancing.
