Cheryl Marie Harmon
Funeral services for Cheryl M. Harmon, 34, of Rayne, were held Monday, July 31, 2006, at 11 a.m. in Starlight Baptist Church.
The wake was held at the church from 8 to 11 a.m.
The Rev. Craig Gregory conducted the services.
Burial was in the Mt. Calvary Baptist Cemetery in Rayne.
Ms. Harmon was born Oct. 2, 1971, and died on July 24, 2006.
She is survived by her husband, Dannie Harmon, Sr., of Rayne; two sons, Dannie Harmon, Jr. and Darien R. Harmon, both of Rayne; sisters, Rita Guidry, Barbara Rochon, Lee Audrey Zeno and Harriet Rogers, Kimberly Yokum and Dorothy Randall, Nakeysha Simegal and Angela Sinegal, all of Rayne; and her mother-in-law, Sadie Harmon, Rayne.
Owens-Thomas Funeral Home of Crowley was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Cody Michael Viator
Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 3, 2006, at a 1:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milton, LA for Cody Michael Viator, age 20, who Passed away Monday, July 31, 2006, at 5:45 a.m. in Rayne, LA.
interment will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Milton, LA. The Rev. Bill Gearheard, pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milton, will officiate at the services.
Cody was a native of Broussard and a resident of Mire. He was a 2005 graduate of Rayne High School and was attending South Louisiana Community College. He was a member of the 2004 Rayne High School National Champion Power Lifting Team and was also a member of the football team. He was employed at Cajun Fitness in Rayne.
Survivors include his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Daniel Viator, mother the former Pamela Auster, of Mire; one sister, Jennifer Lynn Viator of Lafayette; his maternal grandmother, the former Frances Miller Auster of Mire; his paternal grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Albert Viator, grandmother the former Melba Rodriguez Viator, of Maurice; his maternal great grandfather, Ernest Miller of Mire; his maternal great grandmother, the former Diana Hollier Auster of Lafayette; his godmother, Dawn Marie Irwin and her husband, James, of Baton Rouge; and his godfather, John A Breaux, Jr. and his wife, Yvonne, of Maurice.
A rosary was prayed at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. Wednesday and continue from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Thursday.

Steven J.Girard
Rayne - Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 3, 2006, at a Mass of Christian Burial in Gossen Funeral Home Chapel for Steven Joseph(Brother-in-law) Girard, 39, who died at his residence in Carencro.
interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Lafayette.
Survivors include one daughter, Brandy Girard, of Okemah, OK; one son, Dusty Quillin, of Carencro; close companion, Phyllis Lewis, of Carencro; and two sisters, Patsy Clark, of Duson, and Birdie Girard, of Gueydan.
He was preceded in death his parents, Charles Joseph Girard, Sr. and Theresa Cloteaux Girard; and one brother, Charles Joseph Girard, Jr.
A rosary was recited at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday.
The family requested that the visiting hours be observed Wednesday from 12:00 noon until 10:00 p.m. and Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until services.
Arrangements were entrusted to Gossen Funeral Home of Rayne.

Bella M. Trahan
Funeral services were held Friday, July 21, 2006, at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Bella Miller Trahan, 94, who died Wednesday, July 19, 2006, at the American Legion Hospital in Crowley.
Survivors include one daughter, Nettie and her husband Marvin Constan-tin of Rayne; three grandchildren, Monte and his wife Missy Winchester, Barry Constantin, and Denise Constantin; four great-grandchildren Kasey and Remi Winchester, and Kassie and Kaenon Constantin; and one brother Ernest Miller.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Laurent Trahan; her parents, Temar and Francis Martin Miller; three sisters, Mrs. Roy (Lula) Gilbert, Mrs. Blue (Louise) Leger, and Mrs. Aneche (Helen) Meche; one brother, Early Miller; and one stepson, Leroy Trahan.
Visitation was observed Thursday from 11:30 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. and Friday from 8:00 a.m until services.
Burial was in the old St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of Gossen Funeral Home of Rayne.

Irene Broussard Doty
Funeral services were held Monday, July 24,2006, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Irene Broussard Doty, 86, who died Friday, July 21, 2006, at South Wind Senior Living Center in Crowley.
Survivors include one son, Albert and his wife Barbara Doty of Crowley; one daughter, Patricia Doty of Rayne; four grandchildren; one step-grandchild; six great-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Fedora Broussard.
She was a member of the St. Joseph Ladies Altar Society and the American Legion Auxiliary. She retired from the State of Louisiana with the Department of Agriculture and Forestry, and was a former employee of the Rayne Independent.
The family wishes to thank Acadian Home Care, Crowley Rehab Hospital, South Wind Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care, Murlin Arceneaux, Shawn Hornsby, and Elizabeth Deaville.
Visitation was observed Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. and Monday from 8:00 a.m. until services.
Burial was in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2 under the direction of Gossen Funeral Home of Rayne.

Hilda ‘Dot’ Touchet
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 25, 2006, at Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne for Hilda “Dot” Touchet, 84, who Passed away peacefully Sunday, July 23, 2006, at her home.
Although never having children of her own, the many children she raised call her Mother and Grandmother.
Survivors include three brothers: Wilson, Andrus, and Walter Thibodeaux; one sister, Anita Lebouf; her children, Jose Roberto Diaz and his wife Rose of Indian Bayou, Carla Leger Cormier and her husband Gerald of Rayne, Alpha Dale Scriber of Carencro, Joshene “Chopper” Leger of Atlanta, Ga., Loretta “LaLa” Leger of Duson, Rebecca Leger Myers and her husband Jimmy of Rayne and Daniel Maynard and his wife Jean of Estherwood; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Alcee “Ben” Touchet; her parents, Andale and Mary Pepper Thibodeaux; her five brothers, Alcee, Wallace, Sydney, Whitney and Clovis Thibodeaux; and two sisters, Agnes and Elmea Thibodeaux.
Pallbearers included Stephen Hines, Jimmy Myers, Gerald Cormier, Charles Meaux, Jose’ “Boo” Diaz and Daniel Maynard.
Officiating the services was the Reverend Melvin Finley of Abundant Life Assembly of God in Rayne.
Music selections were sung by Gloria Wilson, and The Rosary was recited by Bonnie Labit.
Funeral arrangements were provided by Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne.
Hilda “Dot” Touchet will be greatly missed and will forever remain in the hearts of all the lives she touched with her love, wisdom, generosity and devotion.

Mentor P. Doucet
Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 26,2006, at 10:00 a.m. at Assumption Catholic Church in Mire for Mentor P. Doucet, 74, who died Sunday, July 23, 2006, at Lafayette General Medical Center.
Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Debra and Jeff Leonards of Branch, and Brenda and Dale Melancon of Rayne; four grandchildren, Ryan and Alison Leonards, and Scott and his wife Jill Melancon, and Shea Melancon; two brothers, Alvin and his wife Emma Doucet of Abbeville, and Eby Doucet of Rayne; one sister, Ula Mae Leger of Rayne; his companion, Lovenia Daigle and her children, Calvin Abshire and his wife Donna, “Junior” and his wife Robin Prejean, Ronnie and his wife Melody Daigle, and Debbie Daigle.
Mr. Doucet was preceded in death by his wife, Louella Doucet; one son, Macknalen Doucet; his parents, Armelion and Honora Boudreaux Doucet; four sisters, Edmae Faul, Edez Thibodeaux, Ann Domingue, Thelma Miller; and one brother, Emick Doucet.
Visitation was observed Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
Burial was in the Assumption Cemetery under the direction of Gossen Funeral Home of Rayne.

Corine Minix Mouton
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 29, 2006, at 10 a.m. at Starlight Missionary Baptist Church, 206 Webb St., Rayne, for Mrs. Corine Minix Mouton, 92, who made her glorious transition Wednesday, July 19, 2006, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center. Rev. Cozy Gage will conduct the services. interment will be at Rayne Protestant Cemetery.
A native and longtime resident of Rayne, Mrs. Mouton worked at various housekeeping jobs and retired after 20 years with the Rayne-Branch Hospital as a nurse’s aide.
She is survived by six sons, Aros (Lula) Mouton of Las Vegas, Nevada, Freddie Mouton of Houston, Texas , Jackie (Linda) Mouton of Port Allen, Michael and Wendell Mouton of Lafayette; three daughters, Gayle Mouton of Houston, Texas , Sylvia Mouton of Rayne, and Mary Jo Mouton of Beaumont, Texas . She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, one great-great-great-grand along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Aros Mouton, Sr.; two daughters, Elsie Mouton Johnson and Judy Kaye Mouton; her parents, Joseph and Mary Edwards Minix; fours sisters and nine brothers. She is the last of her immediate family to pass.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Clinton Young and his staff and to Dr. Edmumd Barker of Cardiovascular Institute of the South.

Helen Brown
Memorial services will be held Saturday, July 29, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Helen Brown, 83, who died Monday, July 24, 2006, at the Crowley American Legion Hospital.
Survivors include one son Corbett Conner of Rayne; four brothers, Ed Richard of Lafayette, Lucien Richard Jr. of Eunice, Dudley Richard of Milton, and Donald Richard of Rayne; two sisters, Hazel Patin of Rayne, and Yvonne Istre of Dequincy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lucien and Alicia Leger Richard; two brothers, Wilton “Coon” Richard, and Eldrige Richard; one sister, Theresa Thibodeaux; and her husbands, Thomas Conner, Herman Brown, and Tony Giles.
Gossen Funeral Home of Rayne is in charge of funeral arrangements.
