Jason Kyle Stutes
CROWLEY –– A Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday, July 12, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church for Jason Kyle Stutes, 18, who died Sunday, July 9, 2006, at 8:20 p. m. at American Legion Hospital in Crowley following an accident in Crowley.
Father Matthew Higgin-botham, pastor of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, officiated for the services.
Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery.
The family requested visiting hours be observed Tuesday from 4:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. to service time.
A rosary was recited at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Survivors include his parents Donnie and Sabrina John Stutes of Crowley; two sisters, Hannah Elizabeth Stutes and Natalie Ann Stutes both of Crowley; his maternal grandparents, Jo Ann and Donald “Boo” John of Crowley; his paternal grandmother, Mona Arceneaux Stutes of Rayne; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Donald R. Stutes, Sr.
Jason was born October 6, 1987 to Sabrina John Stutes and Donald R. Stutes, Jr. He attended Redemptorist Catholic and Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish.
He loved children and was best buddy to his younger cousins. Jason was kind, loving and generous. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, gardening, and riding his four-wheeler. Jason will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Pallbearers were be Brandon Thibodeaux, Jonathon Semmes, Ryan Semmes, Blake John, Joseph Petitjean, Brennan Stutes and Carl Stutes, II.
The family request memorial contribution be made to Redemptorist Catholic School, 606 South Ave. N, Crowley, LA 70526.
Arrangements were entrusted to Geesey-Ferguson Funeral, 301 N. Ave. F, Crowley.

Norma Thibodeaux Leger
Rayne - Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 13, 2006, at a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Catholic Church for Norma Thibodeaux Leger, 84, died Monday, July 10, 2006, at 8:20 a.m. at her residence.
interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery #2.
Readers for the service will be her granddaughters Dawn Barton and Kim Goodson. Giftbearers will be granddaughters Dawn Barton and Kim Goodson and great grand-daughter Makenzie Patton.
Survivors include two daughters, Marlene L. Goodson and husband Michael, of Tulsa, OK, Brenella L. Domingue and husband Michael, of Rayne; one son, Darryl Leger, of Crestview, FL; one sister, Athalie T. Rourk and husband Vernon, of Scott; three grandchildren, Dawn Barton and husband Craig, of Gulf Breeze, FL, Kim Goodson, of Tulsa, OK, Scott Leger, of Niceville, FL; and one great grandchild, Makenzie Patton, of Gulf Breeze, FL.
She was preceded in death by husband, Luke Leger, Jr.; one great grandchild, Madison Patton; parents, Cleobule Thibodeaux and Victoria Breaux Thibodeaux; and three brothers, Aymond, Alex and Joseph Thibodeaux.
A rosary was recited at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday.
The family requested that the visiting hours be observed Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until services.
Pallbearers will be Darryl Leger, Scott Leger, Michael Goodson, Michael Domingue, Craig Barton and Charlie Lastovica. Honorary pallbearers will be Vernon Rourk and Daniel Menard.
The family would like to thank Dr. Neil Duhon and his staff, Dr. Jeffery Chen and his staff, Dr. Masoud Yazdi and his staff at the Kidney Care of Acadiana and Acadia St. Landry Home Health. A special Thanks to her care givers Bonnie Faul, Kathleen Breaux and Judy LaCroix.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Gossen Funeral Home Inc. of Rayne.

Lloyd L. Hoffpauir
Funeral services were held Friday, July 7, 2006, at 4:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Lloyd L. Hoffpauir, 80, who died Wednesday, July 5, 2006, at Lafayette General Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Antonia Thevis Hoffpauir of Rayne; nine children, Sepha H. Guidry and her husband Charles of Roberts Cove, Ignatius “Bubba” Hoffpauir and his wife Debbie of Rayne, Hubert Hoffpauir and his wife Teri of Rayne, Greg Hoffpauir and his wife Carolyn of LeBleu, Joline H. Leger and her husband Bart of China Texas , Mark of Huntsville Alabama, John Hoffpauir and his Fiancé Jordana Richard of Rayne, Lloyd Hoffpauir Jr. and his wife Toni of Rayne, Josette H. Habetz and her husband Brian of Roberts Cove; 21 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; one sister, Shirley H. Crawford of Houston Texas ; several nieces and nephews as well as many special friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John E. and Ina O. Hoffpauir; one sister, Eleanor Hoffpauir; two brothers, George and Don Hoffpauir; two nieces and two nephews.
Mr. Hoffpauir was a veteran of WWII stationed in Okinawa, Japan, as an M.P. He began farming on his return home from the military in 1946 and retired in 1989 and remained active on the farm with four of his sons who also farm. He was a talented craftsman, woodworker and welder.
Visitation was Thursday July 6, 2006, from 3:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. and Friday from 8:00 a.m. until services.
Burial was in the St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of Gossen Funeral Home of Rayne.

Edia Gary Duhon
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 6, 2006, in St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Scott, with Father Mark officiating, for Edia Gary Duhon, 86, of Carencro, who died at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, July 4, 2006, in Magnolia Nursing Home in Lafayette.
A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 5, in the funeral home chapel in Rayne.
Visitation was observed on Wednesday from 3 to 10 p.m. and on Thursday from 8 until time of services.
Burial was in the St. Peter and Paul Cemetery Mausoleum in Scott.
She is survived by two brothers, Woodly Gary of Duson and Willie Gary of Lafayettte; one sister, Ozite Leger, Scott; two grandchildren, Danelle Dupuis and Derrell Duhon; five great-grandchildren, Garson Cromier, Kyle Cormier, Joshua Duhon, Tiffany Duhon, and Alexis Duhon; and one great-great-grandchild, Calton Daigle.
Ms. Duhon was preceded in death by her husband, Elix Duhon; one son, Robert Lee Duhon; one grandson, Darvin Duhon; parents, Mrs. Ourelie Gary and Edith Boutte; and five sisters, Stelle Boutte, Rosetta Gary, Sadia Duhon, Mazie Roy and Elrita Benoit.
Pallbearers were Garson Cormier, Kyle Cormier, Joshua Duhon, Derrell Duhon and Joey Daigle..
Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Louella T. Schexnyder
Funeral services were held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, July 6, 2006, in St. John The Baptist Catholic Church in Lyons Point, with Father Donald Pousson officiating, for Louella T. Schexnyder, 73, of Kaplan, who died at 5:50 a.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2006, in Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m.Wednesday in the funeral home chapel.
Burial was in Abshire Cemetery in rural Kaplan.
Visitation was held from 5 to 10 p.m. Wednesday, and from 8 a..m. Thursday to time of services.
She is survived by her husband, Fernest Schexnyder, Kaplan; two daughters, Shelley and husband Bryan Istre and Byrlia and husband, Tony Persilver, all of Kaplan; two sons, Steven and wife Maria Schexnaider, Kaplan, and Ben and wife Ruth Schexnyder, Duson; one brother, Leonce Trahan, Jr., Kaplan; nine grandchildren; Paula Kass, Leah Schexnaider, Joshua Schexnyder; Victor Persilver, Bryayna Persilver, Brooke Schexnyder, Stacy Schexnyder, Kate Istre; and Britt Istre; and three great-children.
Mrs. Schnexnyder was preceded in death by one infant daughter, Ramona Schexnyder; her parents, Leonce and Olamp Vincent Trahan, Sr.; one brother, Vernice Trahan; and two sisters, Mavis Trahan and Nella Parker.
Duhon Funeral Home of Crowley was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Sybil Spell
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 8, 2006, in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley for Sybll Spell, 75, of Marshalltown, Iowa.
Visitation was observed from 1 p.m. with viewing until time of services at 3 p.m.
Duhon Funeral Home of Crowley was in charge of arrangement.s

Joseph Arceneaux
Rayne - Memorial services will be held at a later day for Joseph Arceneaux, 44, who died Monday, July 3, 2006, in Crowley American Legion Hospital.
interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery #2 in Rayne.
Survivors include one daughter, Shea Arceneaux, of Rayne; parents, Charlie Arceneaux and JoAnn Guidry Arceneaux, of Rayne; one sister, Johnna Stutes, of Crowley; and one brother, Dwayne Arceneaux, of Rayne.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Scotty Arceneaux; maternal grandparents and paternal grandparents.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Gossen Funeral Home Inc. of Rayne.

Dayna Tanner Banks
LAKE ARTHUR –– A celebration of the life of Dayna Tanner Banks was held at the First Baptist Church in Lake Arthur at 10 a.m., Monday, June 21, 2005. Visitation was held at the church from 8 a.m. till the time of service.
Officiating ministers were Dr. David Savage and Rev. Ernest Walker. Frances LaRocque of Lake Charles was the soloist.
Dayna has taught sixth grade science for several years at Neddleton Intermediate Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
During these years she has been Space Camp Coordinator for the entire school; for seven consecutive years she has taken 30-40 children to Space Camp at Huntsville, Alabama; Dayna has won one Space School grant. She won two Neddleton Education Foundation grants; she was technology coordinator for the teachers in the school. The Stuart Foundation grant of $6,000.00 was awarded to Dayna for high tech equipment for her classroom. She led students of Neddleton in landscaping the school property as part of a curriculum. This past year Dayna was chosen as one of the eight teachers across the nation to make up a committee that was sent to Washington to screen test questions for teachers to become certified.
Dayna is the daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Jack Tanner, who are now retired from the Baptist pastorate and living in Lake Arthur.
She is also survived by her son, Patrick Michael Banks, who is in the U.S. Navy, serving at Andrews Base in Maryland; a brother and his wife, David and Donna Tanner of Westlake, and a nephew and his wife, V. J. and Stephanie Tanner of Sulphur. She is also survived by several step-nieces and nephews.
Someone at Neddleton School called and said, "Miss Dayna was the spirit of our school." Memorial services were held at Neddleton school and counselors and pastors did counseling.
Funeral arrangements were made by Miguez Funeral Home of Lake Arthur.

Danice Breaux
Funeral services were held Thursday, June 23, 2005, in Gossen Funeral Home Chapel for Danice Breaux, 76, who died Sunday, June 19, 2005, at a Lafayette Hospital.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Gladys Touchet Breaux of Mire; three sons and their wives, Daniel and Sue Breaux of Lafaytte, Kenneth and Karen Breaux of Opelousas, and Curtis and Brenda Breaux of Mire; one daughter and her husband, Flo and Butch Sizemore of Mire; his grandchildren, Erica Breaux, Daniel Breaux, Jr., Shelley Sonnier, Kenneth Breaux, Jr., Mark Breaux, Bryan and Markus Babineaux, Justin and Jimmy Sizemore, Chase and Chad Ashford, and Joey Ewing; great-grandchildren, Kristin, Logan, and Cameron Sonnier, Dymind and Owen Breaux; and two sisters, Lucille Atkinson of Sulphur, and Nell Guidry of Rayne.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Adelicia Breaux; two brothers, Raymond Breaux, and Howard Breaux; three sisters, Agnes Breaux, Euella (La-La) Terro, and Emily Abshire.
Pallbearers were Curtis Breaux, Kenneth Breaux Sr., Butch Sizemore, Kenneth Breaux Jr., Daniel Breaux Jr., and Markus Babineaux.
Honorary pallbearers were Daniel Breaux Sr., Mark Breaux Jr., Richard Barbier Jr., Michael Breaux, Lucus Bourque, Jerry Breaux, and Bryan Babineaux who is serving in Iraq.
Burial was in the St. Joseph cemetery under the direction of Gossen Funeral Home of Rayne.
