Irene Lavergne Bischoff
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, June 27, 2005, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Mowata for Irene Lavergne Bischoff, 91, who died June 23, 2005, at the American Legion Hospital in Crowley.
Fr. George Heffner officiated for the services. A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Sunday at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home in Crowley.
interment was in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
Ms Bischoff was born June 16, 1914, in Prudhome, La., and grew up in Eunice.
Her marriage to Pete Bischoff was quite successful in farming and sheep herding but ended with his untimely death.
Ms. Bischoff was a longtime member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Until her period of declining health Ms. Irene was a very active, independent woman who lived on her own until she experienced her health problems.
Ms. Bischoff was a beloved sister and aunt. Her relatives, neighbors, and friends will always remember her as being sincere, cheerful, and helpful. She had great faith and we know that she is enjoying eternal happiness now in the presence of God.
She is survived by her brother, Arthur J. Lavergne, Jr. and his wife Betty of Richardson, Texas ; her sister-in-law, Carmel Lavergne of Scotia, N.Y.; and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Bischoff was preceded in death by her husband, Pete Bischoff; her parents, Arthur and Florence Lavergne, Sr.; and her brother, Louis H. Lavergne.
Visitation was observed from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday and from 8 a.m. until the time of service.
Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home of Crowley was in charge of arrangements.
Marie Anna Cramer
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 28, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Mowata, for Ms. Marie Anna Cramer, 94, who died June 27, 2005, at 4:50 a.m. at American Legion Hospital in Crowley.
Father George Heffner officiated for the services.
The family requested visiting hours be observed Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. to service time.
Burial was in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
She is survived by two nephews, Leroy Schultz of Mowata, and John L. Schultz and his wife Cora of Branch; three great-nieces, Suzie Miller of Eunice, Carla Thevis of Mowata, and Donna McKnight of Branch; two great-nephews, Jeff Schultz of Mowata and Brian Schultz of Branch; six great great-nieces and nephews.
Ms. Cramer was preceded in death by her parents, Herman, Sr. and Odelia Thevis Cramer; two sisters, Gesina Schultz and her husband Lawrence, and Adeline Cramer; and one great-nephew, Gerald Schultz and his wife Lorraine.
Arrangements were entrusted to Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home, 301 North Avenue F, Crowley.
Cory Chey Martinez
Funeral services were held Friday, June 24, 2005, at an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Carencro for Cory Chey Martinez, age 25, who Passed away in Acadia Parish.
interment was in St. Peter Catholic Cemetery
in Carencro. The Rev. Bill Melancon, pastor of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, officiated at the services.
Musical selections were provided by Patrick Menard, accompanied by Beth Hebert on the organ. The songs were Amazing Grace, The Old Rugged Cross, You Raised Me Up, I Can Only Imagine, and How Great Thou Art.
Mr. Martinez was a native of Lafayette and a resident of Rayne.
Survivors include one son, Cameron Bailey Martinez of Scott; his parents, Ricky Lee Martinez and the former Kathleen Marie Menard of Rayne; and two brothers, Ravel M. Pirouznia and his wife, Casandra, of Washington State and Brock S. Martinez and his wife, Kelly, of Carencro.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Rita Joseph Menard and Yolande Veronie; his paternal grandfather, Macario Martinez; and his step grandparents, Clarence Bourque and Eva Mae Babineaux.
A rosary was prayed at 7:00 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 11:00 a.m. Thursday until service time on Friday.
Pallbearers were Dwight Menard, Michael Menard, Shawn Menard, Coleman Camel, Mike Thibodeaux and Lance Mata.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 2, 2005, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church for Legia Theresa Beverly, 79, who Passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2005, at her residence.
interment will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held Saturday, July 2, 2005, at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church from 8 a.m. until time of services.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 1, 2005, at a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Catholic Church for Milton "Joe" Brignac, 68, who died Wednesday, June 29, 2005, in Lafayette General Medical Center Hospital.

Survivors include his six children, Brady Brignac, Bridget Fitch and husband Kevin, Bryan Brignac, Bethany Duplechin and husband Chris, Brennan Brignac, Brittany Hains and husband Joey, all of Lafayette; six grandchildren, Blaze, Samuel, Alexander, Grant, Taylor , Micah; one brother, Carson Brignac and wife Denise, of Rayne; one sister, Bonnie Smith and husband Clyde, of Dothan, Alabama; numerous nieces and nephews; He leaves behind the mother of his children, Patricia Clayton Brignac, of Rayne.
He was preceded in death by parents, Milton and Gladys Brignac, Sr..
Joe owned Brignac Enterprises and Brignac Marketing.

Nicole “Nikki” Brown Augustus
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 2, 2005, at 11 a.m. in the First Baptist Church of Crowley, located at the corner of Tenth and Western, for Nicole “Nikki” Brown Augustus, 29, of Crowley.
Ms. Augustus died on Monday, June 27, 2005, at her residence.
She is survived by her husband, Dexter Augustus of Rayne; a brother, Shawn Brown of Crowley; and her mother, Charlene B. Brown of Crowley.
Viewing of the body will be from 7 a.m.until time of service at the church.
Nuna May Touchet Richard
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 18, 2005, at a Mass of Christian Burial in Gossen Funeral Home Chapel for Nuna May Touchet Richard, 76, who died at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, June 16, 2005, at her residence.
Entombment was in St. Joseph Cemetery
#2 in the Mausoleum.
Survivors include two daughters, Dona Fay Richard, of Baghdad, and Janet R. Parrish, of Lafayette; one half-sister, Joyce Touchet Richard, of Monroe; three grandchild-ren, and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clovis J. Richard; parents, Saul Touchet and Edith Guidry Touchet; and one brother, Robert Touchet.
A rosary was recited at 7:00 p.m. Friday.
The family requested that the visiting hours be observed on Friday from 12 noon until 10 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. until service time.

Louetta Falcon Prevost
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 20, 2005, at a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Catholic Church for Louetta Falcon Prevost, 78, who died June 16, 2005, in Lafayette General Medical Center.
Entombment was in Greenoaks Memorial Park in Baton Rouge.
Survivors include her husband, U. J. "Ducky" Prevost, of Rayne; one daughter, Mary Beth Dugas and husband Mark, of Franklin, Tennessee; David Palmer and wife Kathy, of Cincinnati, Ohio, Michael Palmer, of Garland, Texas ; one brother, Frank Falcon, Jr., New Iberia; four sisters, Julia Lacroix, of Rayne, Jeanne Dinette, of New Iberia, Pearl Trosclair, of Carencro, and Ziddy Petitjean, of Rayne; and four grandchildren, Madelyne Palmer, Aaron Dugas, Amelia Dugas, and Seth Dugas.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Stephaine Anne Palmer; her first husband, A.D. Palmer; one brother, Clyde Falcon; and two sisters, Virgina Meyer, and Ruth Cavalier.
Memorial donation can be made to St. Vincent de Paul Community Pharm-acy, P.O. Box 127, Baton Rouge, La. 70821.
A rosary was recited at 6:00 p.m. Sunday.
The family requested that the visiting hours be observed Sunday from 1 p.m until 8 p.m. and Monday from 8 a.m. until time of service.

Austin Joseph Leger
MIRE –– Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, June 20, 2005, in Assumption Church in Mire, with Msgr. Russell Harrington officiating, for Austin Joseph Leger, 68, of Mire, who died at 10:05 a.m. Saturday, June 18, 2005, in La Maison de Lafayette.
A rosary was recited at 8 p.m. Sunday, June 19, 2005, in the funeral home chapel.
Visitation was observed on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and on Monday from 8 a.m. until time of services.
Burial was in Assumption Cemetery
in Mire.
He is survived by his wife, Janelle Leger, Mire; two sons, Felix Kurt Leger, Lafayette, and Austin Kent Leger, Mire; four daughters, Kay Steen, Lafayette, Angela Billings, Vinton, Kim Daigrepont, Marksville, and Jancy Billings, Mire; two brothers, Preston Leger, Scott, and Merlin Leger, Lafayette; and 23 grandchildren.
Mr. Austin was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Joseph Olide Leger and Adelphine Thibodeaux Leger.
Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne was in charge of funeral arrangements.
