Dustin James Richard
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 3, 2006, in the funeral home chapel for Dustin James Richard, 21, of Rayne, who died Thursday, June 1, 2006, at his residence.
Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery No. 2.
Visitation was observed on Saturday, from 10 a.m. until time of services.
He is survived by two sons, Dayton Richard and Kaiden Richard, both of Rayne; his mother, Nan Richard, Rayne; father, Ricky Richard, Abbeville; one brother, Chad Richard, Rayne; one sister, Keesha, and her husband Coleman Campbell, Lafayette; one half-brother, Travis Richard, Carencro; two nieces, Alexis and Bailey Campbell; and maternal grandparents, Ray and Nan Arceneaux, Rayne.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Irvin and Estell Richard; and maternal grandfather, James Hodges.
He graduated from Rayne High School. When he was in eighth grade, he was inducted into “Who’s Who in America.”
Pallbearers were Coleman Campbell, Jay Comeaux, Chris LaCroix, Chad Richard, David Hodges, and Mike Prejean.
Honorary pallbearers were Ricky Richard and Travis Richard.
Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Gladys Adams Hawks
Gladys Adams Hawks, 89, died on Saturday, May 20, 2006, in Lynchburg, Va.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, May 23, 2006, at Whitten Timberlane Chapel in Lynchburg.
interment was at Fort Hill Memorial Park in Lynchburg, Va.
Survivors include one son, Douglas Hawks, Atlanta, Ga.; three daughters, Loretta Ragland, Diane Brown and Linda Lee, all of Lynchburg; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and five sisters, Carrie Richard, Portsmouth, Va., Nettie A. Parriers, Mt. Airy, N.C., Winnie A. Payne, Suffolk, Va, Monene A. Marshall, Miami, Fla., and Rita A. Melancon, Rayne, La.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. C.W. Hawks, one grandson, two brothers, four sisters, and her parents, Rev. and Mrs. R.M.Adams.
Whitten Funeral Home of Lynchburg, Va., was in charge of arrangements.

Hilda Thibodeaux Prejean
CHURCH POINT –– Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 1, 2006, at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point for HIlda Thibodeaux, 70, a resident of Church Point who Passed away at 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2006, at Lafayette General Medical Center.
interment was in the Msgr. C.A. Bienvenu Cemetery in Church Point.
Mrs. Prejean is survived by two sons, Barney Prejean of Marksville and Terry Prejean of Branch; one brother, Joachin Thibodeaux of Patterson; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Inez Leger Thibodeaux; an infant daughter, Thelma Faye Prejean; and two sisters, Melvina Bellard and Hazel Lyons.
Visiting hours were 3 to 10 p.m. Wednesday and from 8 a.m. until time of service on Thursday.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Guidry Funeral Home, Inc., of Church Point was in charge of all arrangements.

Brad Young
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 27, 2006, at 1 p.m at the Church of Assumption in Mire, for Brad J. Young, 30, who died Friday, May 26, 2006.
Survivors include two sons, Logan Bradley Young and Trevor James Young, both of Rayne; his parents, Cledus and Glenda Mire Young, of Rayne; one sister, Romona Faye Young, of Carencro; maternal grandmother, Nellie Jane Guidry, of Rayne; and maternal grandfather, Murphy J. Mire, of Carencro.
Burial was in the Arceneaux Cemetery under the direction of Gossen Funeral Home of Rayne.

Anna Rosalie Bollich Olinger
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Anna Rosalie Bollich Olinger at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 8, 2006, at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Roberts Cove.
Mrs. Olinger, 92, died on Saturday, June 3, 2006, at Southwind Nursing Facility.
interment will be at Roberts Cove Cemetery immediately following the Mass. Father Gary Schexnayder will officiate at the service. Concelebrating will be Father Avelino Vale, Father Francis Bourgeois, and Father Aaron Melancon. Assisting will be Deacon Rodless LeLeux.
Mrs. Olinger was a long time resident of the Mowata Community until her marriage to Joseph A. Olinger. After her marriage, she became a homemaker and lived the next 48 years in Roberts Cove where she was an active member of St. Leo’s Altar Society and the St. Leo’s Catholic Daughters of America. Among her many interests was the making of Rosaries, which she gave to her children, her grandchildren and her great grandchildren.
At age 80 she became a resident of Crowley, living at Landmark Retirement Center and then Southwind Nursing Facility for the past three years.
She is survived by two sons: Wayne J. Olinger and his wife Connie of Clinton, Mississippi, and Charles W. Olinger and his wife Jackie of Lafayette; five daughters: Karen O. Boyd of Abbeville; Janet O. Landes and her husband Joseph of Pearland, Texas ; Beverly O. Maloz and her husband Louis of Crowley; Charlotte O. LeBlanc and her husband Ken of Orange, Texas , and Mary O. Landry and her husband Phil of Lafayette; nine granddaughters and ten grandsons; 17 great-granddaughters and seven great-grandsons; one sister, Hilda Robichaux, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph A. Olinger; her parents, William Bollich, Sr. and Regina Hensgens Bollich; five sisters: Regina Bollich, Marie B. Zaunbrecher, Helen B. Robichaux, Leona B. Zaunbrecher, and Rose B. Leonards; four brothers: William Bollich, Jr., Pete Bollich, Joseph Bollich and Nicholas Bollich; ten nephews: Father Ronald Bollich of the Diocese of Beaumont, Stanley Bollich, Robert Dischler, Edmond Leonards, Ferdinand Leonards, Joseph Leonards, Leo Leonards, Rheinoldt Leonards, Joseph Olinger and Glenn Zaunbrecher; six nieces: Flavia Gossen, Henrietta Leonards Gayle, Sr. Bernadine Leonards, Norma Zaunbrecher Prevost, Winnie Rose Bollich Price and Barbara Dischler Reed.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Ellis “Joey” Boyd, Ryan Broussard, Scott Hutslar, Joey Maloz, Jason Olinger and Nicholas Olinger.
Honorary pallbearers are Kent Collins, Brad Maloz, Bryan Olinger and Jerrold Olinger.
Altar servers will include Allison Broussard and Victoria Vice.
Laurie B. Moreaux and Michelle H. Bruce will proclaim Scripture Readings. The Reader of the Prayers of the Faithful will be Jessica O. Bradshaw. Gift bearers are Michael Hutslar, Faith Hutslar, Ashlie Hutslar, Mylaina Brooks, Kynnedie Maloz and Megan Maloz.
Hours of Visitation were from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 7, and again will be from 7 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 8.
A rosary was prayed at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 7.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home of Crowley.

Ina Monceaux Kibodeaux
Rayne - Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 10, 2006, at a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Catholic Church for Ina Monceaux Kibodeaux, 92, who died Tuesday, March 7, 2006, at 5:00 p.m. in Crowley American Legion Hospital.
interment was in St. Joseph Cemetery #2.
Survivors include two daughters, Ina Marie K. Mouton and husband Harry, of New Iberia, Jo Ann Constantin and husband Calice, of Rayne; two sons, L.J. Kibodeaux, Sr. and wife Penny, of Bogalusa, La., John Allen Kibodeaux and wife Janelle, of Rayne; twenty-two grandchildren, thirty-one great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Jimmy Monceaux and wife Elvina.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Kibodeaux; two sons, Dudley Kibodeaux, and Glen Kibodeaux; parents, Clomar and Honora Meaux Monceaux; two brothers, Otto Monceaux, and J.C. Monceaux; and one sister, Agnes Miracle.
“Mother”, as she was affectionatily known by everyone who knew and loved her, had Joie de Vivre. Her favorite past time was cooking and entertaining all of her large family as well as numerous friends every Sunday, until her declining health failed to let her do so. She also enjoyed baby sitting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a woman of great faith. She was an excellent seamstress.
A rosary was recited at 7:00 p.m. Thursday.
The family requested that the visiting hours be observed Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. and Friday from 10:00 a.m. until services time Friday.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Gossen Funeral Home Inc. of Rayne.

Ginger Claire Gas Comeaux
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Lloyd Chaddick officiating, for Ginger Claire Gas Comeaux, 48, of Crowley, who died at 4 a.m. Friday, March 19, 2006, in her home.
Visitation was observed from 3 to 10 p.m. Sunday and from 8 a.m. until time of services Monday.
She is survived by three sons and their spouses, Marcus and Susan Hoffpauir, Eunice, Jacob Comeaux, Crowley, and Joshua and Crystal Comeaux, Rayne; two daughters, Tonya and Edward Lejeune, Rayne, and Danielle and Caleb Bertrand, Crowley; three brothers, Steven Gas and David Gas, both of Denton, Texas , and Daniel Gas of Kurm, Texas ; two sisters, Karen Gas of Roberts Cove, and Revecca Gas, Baton Rouge; and six grandchildren, Sommer, Nichole, and Dillon Lejeune, Skylar and C.J. Hoffpauir, and Landon Comeaux.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sadie Gas and Raymond Jay Gas; and one brother, Brady Gas.
Duhon Funeral Home of Crowley was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Gertrude Hoffman
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 13, 2006, in St. Michael Catholic Church in Crowley, with Father Val officiating, for Gertrude Hoffman, 73, of Crowley, who died Sautrday, March 11, 2006, in her home.
A rosary was recited Sunday in the funeral home chapel.
Burial was in the Acadia Resthaven Cemetery in Crowley.
Visitation was observed from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. Sunday and from 8 a.m. until time of services Monday.
She is survived by two sons, Mike Hoffman, Crowley, and Randy Hoffman, Margarette; three daughters, Elizabeth and Randy Trahan, Sharon and Mark Hoffpauir and Becky and Gary Andrepont, all of Crowley; one brother, R.J. Thibodeaux, California, 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George “Boonie” Hoffman, and her parents, Leona Schexnayder and Weba Thibodeaux.
She was a telephone operator who retired after 26 years with Bell South.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Eugene Brierre, Dr. Stephen Cannon, Dorl Richard Fei, and Dr. Scott Neusetzer. Also a thank you to Hospice Louisiana Pallative Care for caring so much about her.
Pallbearers were Josh Hoffpauir, Chance Andrepont, Trey Simar, Anthony Bruno, David Swacher, Jr., and Bubba Patin. Honorary pallbearers were Tyler Andrepont and Jacob Hoffman.

Elaine Babineaux
Rayne - Funeral services were held Saturday, March 11, 2006, at 10:30 a.m, at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church for Eileen Babineaux Ernest, 87, who Passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2006, at her residence.
interment was in the church cemetery.
Visitation was held Saturday, March 11, 2006, at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church from 8 a.m. until time of services.
Syrie Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.
