Virginia Ann "Jenny" Robin
Duson - Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 3, 2006, in Duson Baptist Church for Virginia Ann "Jenny" Robin, 65, who died Tuesday, February 28, 2006, at 6:46 p.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.
interment was in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.
Brother Bill Hudson and Brother Claude Fontenot were in charge of the services. Music was provided by Janice Doucet.
Survivors include her husband, Gerald P. Robin, of Duson; two daughters, Jodie Naylor and husband Glenn, of North Carolina, and Robin Primeaux and Fiancé Buck Shafer, of Duson; son, Drake Robin and wife, Marlene, of Duson; a sister; nine grandchildren, Heather, Jeremy, Devin, Ryan, Justin, Tyler, Joel, Reid and Abigail; one sister, Marlene Thibodeaux and husband Glen Murton, of Rayne, one half-sister Margaret Neuhauser, of Metairie.
She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Maci Anne Naylor; parents, father, Frank Bezett and mother Ella McGee LeMaire and step father Eneas LeMaire; and two brothers, Frank Bezett and Ronald Bezett.
Pallbearers were Jeremy Robin, Drake Robin, Ryan Robin, Carl Primeaux, Kevin Robin, and Buck Shafer.
Honorary Pallbearers were Glen Thibodeaux, and Frankie DesJacques.
The family would like to give a special thanks to SICU Nurses and Doctors at Our Lady of Lourdes.
The family requested that the visiting hours be observe at Duson Baptist Church in Duson Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:00 a.m until service time.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Gossen Funeral Home Inc. of Rayne.

Mary “Mollie” Istre
Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 4, 2006, at 2 p.m. in the Duhon Funeral Home chapel, with Brother Felix Sellers officiating, for Mary “Mollie” Istre, 61, of Rayne, who died at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 1, 2006, at her residence in Rayne.
Burial was in the Indian Bayou United Methodist Cemetery.
Visitation was observed on Thursday, from 4 to 10 p.m. on Friday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and on Saturday from 8 a.m. until time of services.
She is survived by her husband, Josie Istre, Rayne; three sons and their spouses, Le Roy and Connie Istre and Burl and Barbara Istre, all of Rayne, and Quinton and Heather Istre, Milton; two daughters, Karrie and her husband, Samuel Meche, and Jeanne Istre, all of Rayne; one brother, Jimmy LeBlanc , Rayne; one sister, Carrie Badon, Johnson Bayou; 17 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Istre was preceded in death by her parnets, Le Roy and Delia Meche LeBlanc .
Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Marguerite Boudreaux Mnceaux
Funeral services were held Friday, March 3, 2006, at 2:00 p.m in the Gossen Funeral Home Chapel for Marguerite Boudreaux Monceaux, 76, who died Wednesday, March 1, 2006, at Southwind Assisted Living in Crowley.
Survivors include one son, Darryl J Monceaux of Hawaii; three daughters, Angela M. and her husband Bob St. Dizier of Lafayette, Catherine Monceaux of Highland Beach Fla., and Cynthia M. and her husband Jude “Butch” Abshire of Rayne; eight grandchildren, Shelly Havlik, Sara Augillard, Monique Porter, Michael Monceaux, Neal Guidry, Justin Abshire, Ashley Abshire, and Andrew Abshire; and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Darryl Monceaux, Michael Monceaux, Neal Guidry, Butch Abshire, Justin Abshire, and Andrew Abshire.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jay D. Monceaux; one son, Terry Michael Monceaux; and her parents, Gilfert and Pearl Nelson Boudreaux.
Visitation was Thursday from 11:00 am until 10:00 p.m. with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. and Friday from 8:00 a.m. until services.
Burial was in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Gossen Funeral Home of Rayne.

Gordon E. Doré
Gordon E. Doré, Sr., 82, of Crowley, LA Passed away on Monday, May 29, 2006, after a brief illness at the American Legion Hospital.
He was born on March 1, 1924, in Crowley, LA, the youngest son of Joseph and Sibyl Doré.
Gordon graduated from Crowley High School in May 1939. He left Louisiana College during the Second World War to join the Marine Corps where he saw action in Tarawa and Saipan. He rose to the rank of Lieutenant and was recalled to active duty during the Korean Conflict. He left the Marine Corps as Captain. In 1946 he joined Supreme Rice Mill working with his father and brother. He served in various capacities for 58 years and was Chairman for the past 33 years.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, the former Margarette Amick of Summersville, West Va.
Also surviving are three sons and their spouses, Gordon, Jr. and his wife Caren of Palm Harbor, FL, William and his wife Debbie of Crowley, LA, and Lonnie and his wife Carol of Battle Creek, Michigan; six grandchildren, Noelle Doré Judice and husband Stephen of Lafayette, LA, Jacob Doré and wife Gretchen of Egan, LA, Gordon E. Doré III of Reston, VA, Sibyl Doré of Arlington, VA, Ann Doré Lamia and husband Joseph of Lansing, MI, and Christine Doré of Battle Creek, MI; and four great-grandchildren, Jacob and Michael Doré, Jackson and William Judice.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Joseph, Jr. and his sister Sibyl Lucy.
He was active in the Rice Miller’s Association and served as its President from 1962-1963. He was the Honoree of the International Rice Festival in Crowley in 1972. Gordon served in various agricultural advisory commissions to the President of the United States and Congress. He was a member of Acadia Parish School Board for 8 years. He served on the LSU Board of Supervisors for 29 years, from 1972-2001. Through his service to LSU, he assisted many students in their education. He loved LSU and the LSU Tigers.
He was passionate about his faith and family. Gordon was a life long member of the First Baptist Church of Crowley where he was baptized in 1930. His strong faith and belief in God were a witness to many people.
Visitation will be held at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home of Crowley. Family will receive friends on Thursday, June 1, from 3:00-8:00 p.m. and from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 2, followed by the funeral service at the First Baptist Church of Crowley, at 11:00 a.m.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The First Baptist Church, 228 E. 4th Street, Crowley, LA 70526 or to charities of one’s choice.

Wallace Leon Navarre
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 27, 2006, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Wallace Leon Navarre I, 71 who died Thursday, May 25, 2006, at his residence in Lafayette.
Survivors include three daughters, Sandra Navarre of Lafayette, Cynthia Burgess of Elkhart, Ind., and Angela Navarre Of Vinton; four sons, Nelson Navarre of Vinton, Fernest Navarre Sr. of Carlas La., Wallace Navarre II of Lafayette, and Mitchell Navarre Sr. of Carlas La.; two brothers, Allen Navarre of Rayne, and Emmerson Navarre of Orange, Texas ; two sisters, Gladys Freeman of Rayne, and Jamie Navarre of Rayne; 19 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and one step-great- grandchild.
Mr. Navarre was preceded in death by his parents, John and Elizabeth Schexnyder Navarre; two grandchildren; five sisters; and three brothers.
Burial was in the St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of Gossen Funeral Home of Rayne.

Nabbie Cahanin
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 31, 2006, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Nabbie Cahanin, 67, who died at her residence in Rayne on Monday, May 29, 2006.
Survivors include one daughter Vicky Comeaux of Carencro; three sons Gerald Martin of Rayne, Bryan Martin of Scott, and Chris Martin of Tennessee.; one brother, Eugene Cahanin of Duson; two sisters, Rose Mae Johnson of Rayne, and Zora Boudreaux of Rayne; eight grandchildren, Ryan Comeaux, Rachael Comeaux, Joel Martin, Jessica Martin, Johnathan Martin, Jerrica Martin, Christin Martin, and Courtney Martin; and three great-grandchildren, Morgan Comeaux, Riley Comeaux, and Gracie Comeaux.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Daulphina Thibodeaux Cahanin.
Pallbearers were Gerald, Bryan, and Chris Martin, Rayne Comeaux, Joel Martin and Kevin Cahanin.
Visitation was observed Tuesday from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. and Wednesday from 8 a.m. until services.
Burial was in the St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of Gossen Funeral Home of Rayne

Nettie Hebert Leger
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 20, 2006, at a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Catholic Church for Nettie Hebert Leger, 91, who died Wednesday, May 17, 2006, at 10 p.m. in Crowley American Legion Hospital.
Father Bill Ruskowski, pastor, conducted the funeral services.
Readings were given by Amy Dysart, great-granddaughter, and Rosalind Robertson, niece, from the Book of Wisdom and 1 Corinthians.
Offertory gift bearers were granddaughters Margaret Gilbert, Janet Reed and Christy Singleton.
The eulogy was written and delivered by Ben Leger, a grandson.
Special flowers were designed and arranged by David Faulk, a grandson.
Soloist and organist was Valerie Andrus. Hymns included I Can Only Imagine, Be Not Afraid, Amazing Grace, Let There Be Peace on Earth and Hail Mary, Gentle Woman. Father Ruskowski also sang J’rai La Voir Un Jour (I Will Go See You One Day) in French.
interment was in St. Joseph Cemetery #2.
Survivors include two daughters, Carol LaCroix and husband Leo, of Rayne, Diane Pitre and husband Wayne, of Welsh; one son, Clyde Leger, Jr. and wife Paulette, of Rayne; nine grandchildren, Leo LaCroix, Jr, Margaret Gilbert, Janet Reed, Paul LaCroix, David Faulk, Darrel Faulk, Christy Singleton, Scott Leger, Ben Leger; one sister, Thelma "Te" Moody and husband B.I., of Crowley; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Russell "Bee" Guidry, of Rayne.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Leger; parents, Valery Hebert and Nettie Plattsmier Hebert; one sister, Beverly Johnson ; and two brothers, Winfred Hebert and Leonard Hebert.
Pallbearers were her six grandsons, Leo LaCroix, Paul LaCroix, David Faulk, Darrel Faulk, Scott Leger, Ben Leger.
The Leger family prefers donations be made to Rayne Catholic Elementary Coach Everett Hildreth Gym Fund, Rayne Catholic Elementary Memorial Fund, Notre Dame Memorial Fund.
A rosary was recited at 5 p.m. Friday.
The family offered special thanks to Dr. D. Thomas Curtis, Karon Cook, Marie Richard and Elaine LeJeune.
Arrangements were entrusted to Gossen Funeral Home Inc. of Rayne.

Wanda Dies Clotiaux
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 22, 2006, in St. Edwards Catholic Church in Richard, with Father Dan Edwards officiating, for Wanda Dies Clotiaux, 48, of Richard, who died at 11:45 p.m. Thursday, May 18, 2006, at her home in Richard.
Burial followed in the St. Edwards Cemetery in Richard.
A rosary was prayed Sunday, May 21, 2006, at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel in Church Point.
Visitation was observed at the request of the family from 2 to 10 p.m. Sunday and from 8 a.m. until time of services Monday.
She is survived by her husband, Rocky Clotiaux, Lafayette; parents, Milton and Mary Dies, Richard; one brother, Richard; four sisters, Brenda Blanchard, Linda Dies and Jeanette Lejeune, all of Richard, and Pam LeBlanc , Higginbot-ham; nieces and nephews, Krystle Lejeune, Slate Lejeune, Travis Lejeune, Logan Lejeune, Gavin Lejeune, Landon LeBlanc and Brendon Matte; a great-niece Kiah Haven Richard.
She wsa preceded in death by one brother, Kevin Jude Dies and her grandparents.
Her hobbies were crafts, baking and playing with children. Wanda was a very loving and kind person always lending a helping hand to those that needed. She gave to different charities and served her church in the position of lector, religion teacher and Ladies Altar Society member.
She will always be remembered as a forgiving and loving person.
Duhon Funeral Home of Church Point was in charge of funeral arrangements.
