Ulyssee James Trahan
Memorial services will be held at a later date for Ulyssee James Trahan, 65 of Rayne, who died at 1:20 a.m. Wednesday, May 10, 2006, in Rayne.
He is survived by one son, David James Trahan, Mire; four daughters, Anna Trahan Domingue, Lafayette, Vickey Trahan Evans, Duson, Julaine Trahan McLemore, Ridge, and Cassey Touchet, Baton Rouge; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and four adopted grandchildren; three stepsons, Jason Menard, Ridge, Chris Menard, Snow Mass, Colo., and Jude Menard, Anchorage, Alka.; five step-grandchildren; and his parents, Theozia and Edwin Trahan, Carencro.
Mr. Trahan ws preceded in death by two brothers, John Trahan and Joseph Trahan; one adopted daughter, Barbara Vizent Plaunty; and one great-grandson, Hunter Plaunty.
Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Azie Harmon
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 27, 2006, in Cunningham C.M.E. Methodist Church, with Rev. W.K. Rucker officiating, for Azie Harmon, 84, of Rayne, who died May 20, 2006.
interment will be in the Branch Cemetery in Branch, under the direction of Syrie Funeral Home of Lafayette.
Azie leaves to cherish his stepson, James Robertson, Rayne; one grandson, Cedric Robertson, Florida; one brother, Arthur Jackson (Evelyn) of Ames, Texas ; tree sisters, Joyce Richard, Gloria Granger and Geneive Julian, all of Rayne; and a very special aunt, Rosa Jackson Munks, Houston, Texas .
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lacy Harmon Sr. and Lillie Davis Jackson ; his wife, Dorothy Robertson Harmon; five sisters; and ten brother, along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Clifton Granger, Sammie Harmon, Joseph Guidry, Jason Richard, Izeal Harmon and Morris Richard, Jr.

Herbert Dugas
Funeral services were held Friday, May 12, 2006, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church for Herbert Dugas, 19, who died May 4, 2006 at American Legion Hospital.
interment was in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his mother, Michelle Dugas Barres; his stepfathers, Michael Barres and Dewight Living; three brothers, Joshua, Davon and Christopher Dugas, all of Rayne; his grandparents, Patricia Dugas and Darrel Roberts and Lawrence and Betty Arceneaux; and a host of aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his father, Herbert Arceneaux; three great-aunts, his grandfather and grandmother and two great-grandmothers.
Visitation was observed Friday, May 12, 2006, at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church beginning at 8 a.m. until time of services.
Syrie Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.

James (Pon) Leger
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday, May 12, 2006, in Our Lady of Sacred Heart Church in Church Point, with Father Blair officating, for James (Pon) Leger, 65, of Church Point, who died at 2:15 p.m. Wednesday, May 10, 2006, in Church Point’s Acadia-St. Landry Hospital.
Visitation was held Thursday until time of services on Friday.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel.
He is survived by two daughters, Cindy Charlotte and Pam Duplechin, both of Church Point; six sons, Mryon Leger and Michael Leger, both of Rayne, and Tony Leger, Bryan Leger, Harris Leger and Kevin Leger, all of Church Point; his mother, Genevie T. Venable Church Point; two brothers, Patrick Leger, Mire, and Malcoln Leger, Crowley; a very dear friend, Mary L. Richard; 21 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren..
Mr. Leger ws preceded in death by his father, Easton Leger; his wife, Delphina Leger; one grandson, Rusty James Leger; and two infant sisters.
Duhon Funeral Home of Church Point was in charge of arrangements.

Lane Joseph Hernandez
Lane Joseph Hernandez, 64, of Rayne died at 11:45 a.m. Friday, May 12, 2006, at a friend’s home in Rayne.
There will be no funeral service or visitation for him at this time.
He is survived by three godchildren, Bart Hebert, Rayne, Stepahnie Douget, Crowley, and Sandy Hobson, Broussard, a special friend and caregiver, George Prather of Rayne, and numerous cousins.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Era. He wa a draftsman for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nedia Mier and Frank Hernandez.
Donations may be made to Hospice of Acadiana, 2600 Johnston St., Suite 200, Lafayette, La. 70503 in Mr. Hernandez’s name.

Lillian B. Legnion
Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, 2006, in Northside Assembly Church of God in Crowley, with Brother Lloyd Singley officiating, for Lillian B. Legnion, 72, of Rayne, who died Monday, May 15, 2006, at 4 a.m. in Crowley’s American Legion Hospital.
Burial was in the St. John the Baptist Church in Lyons Point.
Visitation was observed from 10 a.m. on Tuesday until time of services.
She is survived by her husband, Bradley Legnion, Rayne; three sons, Mitch Legnion, Crowley, Mike Legnion, Crowley, and Wendell Legnion, Seguin, Texas ; one daughter, Deborah Wells, Arkansas; two brothers, Norris Bonin, Cowley, and Willie Bonin, Jennings; and ten grandchildren.
Mrs. Legnion was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Bell Perry Bonin; and one brother, L.J. Bonin.
Duhon Funeral Home of Crowley was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Mary Ann Wilridge
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 20, 2006, at 10 a.m. at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church for Mary Ann Wilridge, 57, who Passed away Thursday, May 10, 2006, at University Medical Center.
Visitation will be held Saturday, May 20, 2006, at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church from 8 a.m. until time of services.
Syrie Funeral Home, Inc. is in charge of arrangements.

Gladys Josephine Trahan Johnson
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 5, 2006, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church for Gladys Josephine Trahan Johnson , 87, who died May 2, 2006, at the American Legion Hospital in Crowley.
Father Matthew Higgin-botham officiated for the services.
Visiting hours were observed Thursday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. until the time of services.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Thursday at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home in Crowley.
interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Ted E. Johnson , Sr. of Crowley; one daughter, Charlotte Johnson Boyd of Port Orange, Fl; two sons, Ted E. Johnson , Jr. of Atlanta, Ga. and Glenn M. Johnson of Crowley; one sister, Mary Beatrice Trahan Sureta of Crowley; one brother, Andrew “Tibby” Trahan of Crowley; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Birdie Stutes Trahan; brothers, Harry Trahan, and Paul Trahan, and one sister, Agnes Trahan Duhon.
Born Josephine Gladys Trahan near Rayne on November 19, 1918, She was nearly a lifelong resident of Acadia Parish. Gladys is a descendent of Cesaire and Clementine Leblanc Trahan and Nathan and Marie Breaux Stutes whose families were some of the first residents and pioneers of the Crowley area.
Arrangements were entrusted to Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home of Crowley.

Jonel Marie Comeaux Sarver
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 7, 2006, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church for Jonel Marie Comeaux Sarver, 65, who died May 2, 2006, at American Legion Hospital in Crowley.
Father Matthew Higgin-botham officiated for the services.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Visiting hours were observed Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 8 a.m. until the time of service.
interment was in Ebenezer Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband Lonnie Mims Sarver of Crowley; one daughter, Vickie Sarver Miller of Crowley; three sons, Lonnie Dale Sarver of Crowley, Marlon Sarver and his wife Susan of Crowley, and Troy Sarver and his wife Tracy of Crowley; her mother, Mrs. Ivy Comeaux of Rayne; one sister, Betty Perrodin of Rayne; and one brother Clyde Comeaux of Rayne; and eight grandchildren, Amanda, Jacob, Robert, Logan, Austin, and Taylor Sarver, Cassie Miller, and Amy Beglis.
Mrs. Sarver was preceded in death by one son, Kirk Sarver; and her father Ivy Comeaux.
She was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, and sister, who always put her family first. Jonel was a devoterd Catholic who was an active member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and St. Michael’s Catholic Church. Her sassy personality made us all laugh, and even when she was feeling her worst, she always found a smile. She will always be in our hearts and memories.
The family would like to thank Dr. Saini, Dr. Mammon, and Dr. Bergeaux and their staffs for the care and concern. They would also like to thank the staff of Southwind Nursing Home and the staff of American Legion Hospital.
Arrangements were entrusted to Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home of Crowley.
