Harold Falcon
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 1, 2006, in the funeral home chapel, with Father Martin Leonards officiating, for Harold Falcon, 74, of Rayne, who died at 5:49 a.m. Saturday, April 29, 2006, at his home in Rayne.
Visitation was observed Sunday from 12 noon until 10 p.m. and Monday from 8 a.m. until time of the services.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home chapel.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Peggy Falcon, Rayne; two sons, Jeremy and Tiffany Falcon, Lafayette, and Reece Falcon, Rayne; three daughters, Miranda Mire and Lisa and Lucas Mire, all of Rayne, and Roxanne Falcon, Church Point; two brothers, Alvin and Barbara Falcon, Rayne and Jim and Betty Falcon, Duson; two sisters, Audrey and Ceasar Alleman, Lafayette, and Martha and L.J. Richard, Rayne; and six grandchildren, Jude Mire, John Mire, Jr., Lydia Mire, Gary Mire, Jr., Baileigh Falcon and Spencer Mire.
Mr. Falcon was preceded in death by his parents, Lelia Credeur and Sosthene Falcon; one brother, Joseph Mabry Falcon; and one sister, Lou Ella Falcon.
He was a 50-plus member of American Legion Post #77 of Rayne. He served during the Korean Conflict in the United States Army.
He was a devoted husband for 29 years, and a loving father, brother, grandfather and friend.
He worked for over 50 years at the Ashton Petitjean Farm.
Pallbearers were members of Arceneaux Post No. 77 of the American Legion
Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Dr. Thomas D. Petitjean Jr.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 8, 2006, at a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Catholic Church for Dr. Thomas D. Petitjean Jr., 49, who died Friday, May 5, 2006, at his residence in Natchitoches, La.
interment was in St. Joseph Cemetery No. 2 Mausoleum.
Survivors include his parents, Thomas D. and Evelyn S. Petitjean, of Rayne; one sister, Andree' Wingate and husband, Marvin, of Rayne; two brothers, Mayor Jim Petitjean and wife, Lyn , of Rayne, and Joe Petitjean, of Rayne; five nieces, Alexis Wingate, Alanna Wingate, Elise Petitjean, Mariette Petitjean, Ann Petitjean, all of Rayne; and one nephew, Nicholas "Pete" Petitjean, of Rayne.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph A. Sonnier Sr. and his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Dave Petitjean Sr.
An LSU graduate, Dr. Petitjean obtained his Masters and Doctorate degrees from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Dr. Petitjean was an Assistant Professor of English at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, La. and had served in that capacity for the past seven years. He also was a member of Phi Delta Kappa Education Honor Fraternity, Phi Kappa Phi Scholastic Honor Fraternity, and the Association of Teachers of Technical Writing. Dr. Petitjean was a published author, having written three books and numerous technical writing publications.
During the ten years that Dr. Petitjean lived in New York, he held various positions including promotion director for New York Magazine, as well as being a script writer for "Another World" and "As The World Turns". Dr. Petitjean taught at Rayne High School for five years and was selected Teacher of the Year in 1995. As a teenager, he attained the rank of Eagle Scout.
“Doc” as his students referred to him, touched everyone that he came in contact with and forever changed the lives of those whom he taught. He also cherished time spent with his nieces and nephew. He will be deeply missed by family and friends.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Sunday.
The family requested visiting hours be observed from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. Sunday and continue from 8 a.m. Monday until service time.
Arrangements were entrusted to Gossen Funeral Home, Inc. of Rayne.

Edia Thibodeaux
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 6, 2006, in the funeral home chapel for Edia Thibodeaux, 86, of Sunset, who died at 7:15 a.m. Thursday, May 4, 2006, in St. Agnes Nursing Home in Breaux Bridge.
Visitation was observed Friday from 3 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. until time of services.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
Burial was in the Assumption Cemetery in Mire.
She is survived by one son, Elvin Thibodeaux, Sunset; three grandchildren, Estelle and Kim Andrus, Abu Dhabi, UAE Mideast, Joey and Rhonda Thibodeaux, Lafayette, and Kenneth and Kim Thibodeaux, Casper, Wyo.; six great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Leo Matte, R.S. Cormier, and Fernand Thibodeaux, all of Church Point.
Mrs. Thibodeaux was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Thibodeaux; her parents, Henry and Cecile Martinez; and one sister, Etia Lavergne.
Duhon Funeral Home of Church Point was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Patsy D. Faulk
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 11, 2006, at 1 p.m. at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, La., for Patsy D.Faulk, 73, of Church Point, who died at Opelousas General Hospital in Opelousas at 1:40 p.m. on Tuesday, May 9, 2006.
interment will be in the Monsignor Bienvenu Cemetery in Church Point.
Father Sonny Brown will conduct the services.
Survivors include five sons, Robert Meche and his wife, Debbie of Sunset, La., Terry Meche of Church Point, Dale Meche of Church Point, Jim Meche and his wife, Bridgette of Church Point, Ike Richard and his wife Pam of Church Point; one daughter, Josette Quebodeaux and her husband Bryan of Church Point; one brother, Donald Faulk of Rayne, La.; one sister, Diana Cary of Branch, La.; 17 grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernie Faulk and Berthile LeBlanc Faulk; a son, Christopher Richard; and a brother, Daniel Faulk.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed from11 a.m. Wednesday, May 10, 2006, until 10 p.m. and continue Thursday, May 11, 2006, from 8 a.m. until services.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Pallbearers will be Robert Meche, Terry Meche, Dale Meche, Jim Meche, Ike Richard and Bryan Quebodeaux.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Guidry Funeral Home of Church Point.

Bennie McGee Mader
Funeral services were held for Bennie McGee Mader, 86, at Saint Michael the Archangel Catholic Church at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, 2006. Mrs. Mader died after a brief hospitalization on Sunday, May 7, 2006, at 10:04 a.m. in Crowley.
Father Gary Schexnay-der, pastor of Saint Michael’s, celebrated the Mass of Christian Burial and the entombment at Woodlawn Mausoleum. The Rosary was prayed at 6:30 p.m. Monday led by Sister Justina Baker.
Mrs. Mader was married to the late Burton C. Mader; she was born in Iota, and lived with Burton in Crowley since 1950. She was a member of Saint Michael’s Catholic Church, a CCD teacher for many years and enjoyed volunteering at Crowley Christian Care and other organizations.
She is survived by one daughter, Kathleen M. Hilliard and her husband, Finley of Westlake, four sons, Winston Mader and his wife, Bonita of Moss Bluff, Tim Mader and his wife, Suzette of Lafayette, Burton E. Mader and his wife, Bettie Rae of Bentonville, Ark., and Mark Mader and his wife, Donna of New Iberia; one sister, Anna Mae Broussard of Port Arthur, Texas ; 16 grandchildren and 15 greatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Louisa Matte McGee; her husband; one infant daughter, Katherine Mader; and five sisters.
Visitation was observed on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.

Beulah Mae Istre
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 28, 2006, in Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Crowley, with Father Matthew Higginbotham officiating, for Beulah Mae Istre, 62, of Crowley, who died at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 26, 2006, in the Crowley Guest Home.
Visitation was held on Thursday from 2 to 10 p.m. and on Friday from 8 a.m. until time of services.
A rosary was recited Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
Burial was in the Quebodeaux Cemetery in Midland.
She is survived by three sons, Frank Lavergne and Russell Lavergne, both of Jennings, and Rusty Istre, Rayne; five daughters, Brenda Istre, Jennings, Linda Istre, Cow Island, Lara Istre, Kinder, and Mary Margaret Istre and Kimberly Alleman, both of Rayne; six sisters, Betty Istre, Priscella Istre, Chrstine Istre and Joan Clement, all of Morse, Carolyn Viator, Crowley, and Jeanette Istre, Estherwood; four brothers, August Istre, Egan, John Istre, Morse, Allen Ray Istre, Jr. Estherwood, and Deluce Istre, Morse; and 15 grandchildren.
Ms. Istre was preceded in death by her first husband, George Istre; her second husbnad, Joe Joe Hanks; one son, Albert Istre; and her parents, Collins and Gladys Romero Istre.
Duhon Funeral Home of Crowley was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Matthew LeBlanc
Funeral services were held Friday, November 25, 2005, at 1 p.m. at Cunningham C.M.E. Church for Matthew LeBlanc , 66, who Passed away Thursday, November 17, 2005, at Heart Hospital of Lafayette.
Rev. W.K.Rucker officiated the services. interment was in Rayne Protestant Cemetery.
He leaves to cherish his memories; his loving and devoted wife, Leona LeBlanc ; a loving mother, Selestine LeBlanc and a loving mother-in-law Ruby Chevis both of Rayne; one son, Nathaniel (Sandra) LeBlanc of Lafayette; two brothers, Classie LeBlanc and Phillip (Joyce) LeBlanc of Rayne,; one sister, Shirley (Henry) LeBlanc Emanuel of Lafayette; one sister-in-law, Gracie Jolivette of Rayne; three step-children, Germaine (Brent) Lewis and Shawn Babineaux both of Rayne, Denver (Brandy) Babineaux, Jr. of Eunice; two granddaughters, Natalee and Aliya LeBlanc ; five step-grandchildren, Jwan Sims, Brentashia, Tajan Lewis, Brandon and Denteria Babineaux and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Privat LeBlanc ; one brother, Oran LeBlanc ; one sister, Henrietta LeBlanc and a father-in-law, Cornelius Chevis.
Visitation was held Friday, November 25, 2005, at Cunningham C.M.E. Church from 8 am until time of services.
Syrie Funeral Home, Inc. of Lafayette was in charge of arrangements.
