Elaine R. Bourg
Services for Elaine Anna Reed Bourg, 88, were conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2005, at Greenoaks Funeral Home at 9595 Florida Boulevard, Baton Rouge.
Visiting hours were from 12 noon to 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 23, 2005.
Born in Mamou, September 21, 1917, Mrs. Bourg was a longtime resident of Baton Rouge. She died Monday, November 21, 2005, at 7:35 p.m. in Baton Rouge.
Mrs. Bourg worked as a nutritionist at Baton Rouge General Hospital and as a dental assistant for Dr. Crifasi. She introduced the Estee Lauder line of cosmetics for Goudchaux’s Department Store in Baton Rouge. For a brief time she managed Spirits Incor-porated of Baton Rouge.
Elaine Bourg was a member of St. Louis King of France Catholic Church. She will be remembered as a generous person involved and active in community with organizations such as Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. Elaine and her husband Archie loved to dance and founded the Continental Dance Club.
Elaine Bourg was a four year resident at Sunrise Assisted Living.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Archie T. Bourg, Sr.; a son, Archie T. Bourg, Jr.; her parents, Hattie Ardoin Reed and Sam J. Reed; one brother, Raymond Reed, Sr.; one sister, Marjorie Reed Corcoran; baby sister, Melba Reed; and one granddaughter, Victoria Touchberry DeIlly.
Elaine Reed Bourg is survived by a daughter, Lorna Elaine Bourg of New Iberia; a son, James Randal Bourg and wife Donna of Baton Rouge; a daughter, Jeannie Bourg Williams and husband Gene Williams of Magnolia, Texas ; one daughter-in-law, Mary Frances Touchberry of Baton Rouge; 11 grandchildren, Mitch Bourg, Daniel Reed Williams, Timothy Clark Williams, Jaim Wyatt Bourg, Senate Reed Byrnes, Michael Ann Bourg, Nicole Hayes, Joseph Broussard, Jonathan Broussard, Dean Touchberry, Leslie Touchberry; and two greatgrandchildren.
Pallbearers were Danny Williams, Tim Williams, Gene Williams, Joseph Broussard, Jonathan Broussard, and Dean Touchberry.
Honorary pallbearers were Jaim Bourg, Michael Ann Bourg, Senate Byrnes, Mitch Bourg, Shannon Roth, Leslie Touchberry and Nicole Hayes.

Velma Spell Cantrell
Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 26, 2005, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel for Velma Spell Cantrell, 94, of Lafayette, who died at 5 a.m. Friday, Nov. 25, 2005, at Lady of Oaks Retirement Center in Lafayette.
Burial was in the Indian Bayou Methodist Cemetery in Indian Bayou.
Visitation was observed Friday at 5 to 10 p.m. and on Saturday, from 8 a.m. until time of services.
She is survived by one son, Henry Cantrell, Ridge; three granddaughters, Rinda Hoffpauir, Kim Hoffpauir and Toni Hebert; one step-granddaughter, Tabitha Gary; six great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Ms. Velma was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Cantrell; two sons, Brunan C. Hoffpauir and Donald Hoffpauir; and her parents, Mr. Henry Spell and Mrs. Eva Sarver Spell.
The family sent a special thanks to the Lady of Oaks Retirement Center.
Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Dora Cormier Lanclos
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, Nov. 28, 2005, at 2 p.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Father Buddy Breaux officiating, for Dora Lanclos, 98, of Lafayette.
Internment was in St. Joseph Cemetery No. 2 in Rayne, under the direction of Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne.
Visitation was observed by the request of the family from 2 to 10 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 27, with a rosary prayed at 7 p.m. and from 8 a.m. until time of services on Monday.
She leaves to mourn one son, Russell Lanclos, of Lafayette; a grandson who took care of her, Tim and his wife, Bonnie Barbier of Youngsville; two daughters, Sybil Molbert Hall of Liberty, Texas , and Jean Lanclos Hall of Rayne; special foster children, Junior Aucoin, of Rayne, and Johnny Aucoin of Eunice; 19 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Molbert; her second husband, Leon Lanclos; one daughter, Aurelia Sonnier; two grandsons, Charles Hall and Charles Sonnier; one great-granddaughter, Susan Hendon; and her parents, Ophelia Chaisson and Eli Comier.
She was a wonderful wife, mother, foster mother and grandmother who gave so much of herself for the pleasures and comforts of her family.
Pallbearers were Tim Barbier, Rodney Hall, Junior Aucoin, Russell Lanclos, Jr., Randy Lan clos, and Ray Hall.
Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Lionel Paul Simoneaux
Funeral services were held Monday, November 28, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Leo Catholic Church in Roberts Cove for Lionel Paul Simoneaux, 82, who died Saturday November 26, 2005, in Lafayette.
Survivors include four sons, Fr. Jody Jude Simoneaux of Lafayette, James Dale “Jimmy” and his wife Deanette Simoneaux of Jennings, Jerold John “Jerry” and his wife Tina Simoneaux of Waggaman La., and Jules Andrew and his wife Gina Simoneaux of Lafayette; three grandchildren Jake, Claire, and Leslie Simoneaux; and three stepgrandchildren Ross, Marie, and Jack Ammann.
Mr Simoneaux was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa Ohlenforst Simoneaux; his parents, Lionel Paul and Leonie Pelous Simoneaux; one brother, Ulysses Simoneaux; and two sisters, Anna Mae Sorprano, and Mary Lou Sorprana.
Visitation was Monday November 28, 2005, from 9 a.m. until services and was held in the St. Leo Catholic Church in Roberts Cove.
Burial was in the St. Leo cemetery under the direction of Gossen Funeral Home of Rayne.

Lawrence W. Heinen
ROBERTS COVE – Funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2005, at 11 a.m. at St Leo's IV Catholic Church in Roberts Cove for Lawrence William Heinen, 67, who died Monday, Nov. 28, 2005, in Vinton.
Rev. Fernando Susil officiated for the services. Burial was in St. Leo Cemetery in Roberts Cove.
Visiting hours were observed Tuesday from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. A rosary was recited Tuesday at 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Heinen is survived by his wife, Louise Heinen of Vinton; his sons, William Heinen and his wife Britnee of Vinton, and Eric Heinen and his wife, Shannon of Vinton; his daughters, Rosalind Dalberg and her husband, Jon of Watson; and Laurie McNally and her husband, Matthew of Sulphur; his sisters, Hilda Heinen of Crowley; and Josie Millet and her husband, Malcolm of Crowley; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceeded in death by his parents, William and Christine Heinen; his brothers, Charles and Joseph Heinen; his sisters, Geraldine Heard, Arilda Leonards and Annie Gauthreaux.
Mr. Heinen lived in the Vinton area since 1973 after coming from the Rayne area. He was a member of the Farm Bureau, the Knights of Columbus, The Rice Growers Association and the Holy Name Society of St. Leo Catholic Church of Roberts Cove.
Arrangements were entrusted to Hixson Funeral Home Vinton.

Ava Grace Theunissen
Graveside services were held Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2005, in St. Leo Catholic Cemetery in Roberts Cove for Ava Grace Theunissen, infant daughter of Kelly Theunissen and Nabor Mendez.
Survivors include maternal grandparents Dexter and Yvonne Theunissen of Crowley and paternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Mendez of Houston.
Gossen Funeral Home of Rayne in charge of arrangements.

Yolande Mary Cormier
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 19, 2005, in Gossen Funeral Home Chapel for Yolande Mary Cormier, 75, who died November 17, 2005, in Lafayette General Medical Center.
interment was in Rayne Cemetery Inc.
Survivors include her husband, Gerites Cormier, Sr., of Rayne; two daughters, Sandra Phipps, of Ville Platte, and Peggy Dickson, of Lake Charles; six sons, Gerites Cormier, Jr., of Rayne, Daniel Cormier, of Church Point, Anthony James Cormier, of Rayne, Lawrence Cormier, of Ousson, Joseph Cormier, of Broussard, and Michael Cormier, of Rayne; 30 grandchildren; 31 great- grandchildren; and one sister, Edith Menard, of Rayne.
She was preceded in death by one son, Robert Lewis Cormier; one grandson, Joshua Broussard; one great grandchild, Justin Cormier; parents, Vorahies Menard and Leontine Broussard Menard; one daughter-in-law, Elzina Marie Cormier; two sisters; and two brothers.
The family requested that the visiting hours be observed Friday from 11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until service time.
Arrangements were entrusted to Gossen Funeral Home Inc. of Rayne.

Mrs. Irvin Smith Moceri
JEANERETTE –– Funeral service were held at 1 p.m.Thursday, Nov. 17, 2005, in the Episcopal Church of The Epiphany, with the Rev. Mark McDonald officiating for Mrs. Irvin Moceri, the former Barbara Smith, 81, of Jeanerette.
Burial followed in the Beau Pre Mausoleum in Jeanerette.
Visitation was observed at the David Funeral Home in Jeanerette on Thursday from 8:30 a.m. until time of services.
A native of Rayne, Mrs. Moceri was a resident of Jeanerette. She died Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2005, in Dauterive Hospital in New Iberia.
She retired from the Iberia Parish School Board after teaching for 25 years. She was a member of the Altar Guild of the Episcopal Church. She loved crossword puzzles.
She is survived by her husband, Irvin Moceri, Jeanerette; son, Michael Moceri, Jeanerette; daughter, Catherine Moceri Sikes of Katy, Texas ; five grandchildren, Lisa (Moceri) Barker of Granada Hill, Calif., Marc Moceri, Lafayette, Erik Sikes and Robin Sikes, both of Katy, Texas , and Jeffery Moceri Guillotte of Jeanerette; a caretaker and best friend, Gloria Johnson , Jeanerette; and adopted daughter, Mary Dean Deare LeBlanc , New Iberia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy L. Smith and Ruth Craig Smith; and sister, Betty Ann Smith Billion.
Pallbearers were Marc Moceri, Jeffery Moceri Guillotte, Gerard Eldredge, Morris Weber, Lawrence Sherville, and Erik Sikes.
Honorary pallbearers were Hartman LeJeune, Mike Robin, J.P. Lapeyrouse, Donald Muncy, Peachie Landry, Patrick Napier, Van Guillotte, Lloyd Guidry, Clarence Callahan, Lynn Chaney, Charles Stroud, David M ouret, Jimmy Mouret, John Johnson and Rene Baudry.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of David Funeral Home of Jenerette.

Dion Lee Benoit
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2005, in the funeral home chapel, with Father Leonards officiating, for Dion Lee Benoit, 45, of Rayne, who died Sunday, Nov. 20, 2005, at 5:29 p.m. at his home.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Monday in the chapel.
Burial was in St. Theresa Cemetery in Duson.
Visitation was observed Monday from 2 to 10 p.m. and Tuesday from 8 a.m. until time of services.
He is survived by one daughter, Terra Hebert, Cankton; mother, Velma Benoit, Mire; one brother, Charles Benoit, Mire; two sisters, Janet Thomas, Duson and Shirleen Ross, New Orleans; one grandchild, Alexis Hebert, Cankton; a grandmother, Francis Breaux, Mire; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Dion was preceded in death by his father, Alphonse Benoit; stepfather, Prejean Alleman; and one sister. Kathy Benoit.
Mr. Dion had a passion for hunting and fishing. He was a lifelong resident of the Mire community. He loved to live life to the fullest.
Pallbearers were Rickey Primeaux, Kirt Marks, Dustin Laviolette, Vernell Cormier, Kem Arceneaux, and Carrol Alleman.
Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne was in charge of funeral arrangements.
