Linda P. Lavergne
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, October 20, 2005, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Father Bill Ruskoski officiating, for Linda P. Lavergne, 49, of Breaux Bridge, who died at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, October 18, 2005, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.
Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery #2 in Rayne.
A rosary was prayed Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
Visitation was observed from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday and from 8 a.m. until time of services on Thursday.
She is survived by her husband, Carl Lavergne, Sr., Breaux Bridge; two sons, Carl J. Lavergne, Jr., Lafayette, and O’Neal J. Lavergne, Lake Charles; one brother, Kenneth Comeaux, Indian Bayou; one sister, Donna Pellerin, Lafayette; four grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren.
Mrs. Lavergne was preceded in death by her parents, Willis and Mary Ann Marks Pellerin. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Pallbearers are O’Neal Lavergne, Carl J. Lavergne, Jr., Kenneth Comeaux, Ryan Romero, Jason Romero, and Shannon Gaspard. Honorary pallbearer is Anthony Lavergne.
Duhon Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Elizabeth Walther "Betty" Guidry
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 13, 2005, at Centenary United Methodist Church in Rayne for Elizabeth Walther "Betty" Guidry, 79, who died October 11, 2005, at her home in Rayne.
The Rev. John Locasio and Fr. Martin Leonards will officiate at the service.
Entombment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in the Mausoleum.
Survivors include her husband, Warren L. Guidry, of Rayne; one daughter, Debra G. Bernard and husband David, of Conyers, Georgia; one son, David W. Guidry and wife Pattie, of Rayne; seven grandchildren, Ryan and wife Lee, Brent and Amanda Bernard all of Georgia, Danielle, Hunter, Chandler and David W. Guidry II of Rayne; one great grandchild, Lauren Bernard; and one sister, Elaine Dickson and her family of Stuttgart, Arkansas.
She was a Master Judge in the Louisiana Garden Club Federation and was devoted to the beauty of flower arranging and gardening. The love she had for flowers flowed through in her love for her many friends. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. At one time she served as the State Librarian of the Dames of the Court of Honor. She was an 8th generation descendant of Capt. John Ford from which she drew her lineage. The John Ford Historical Museum is the site of the John Ford Home, better known as the Ford Stockdale, located in Sandy Hook, Mississippi. The home is reminiscent of the 18th century forts built in the Mississippi Territory in the late 1700s. The home was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1971. The home remains very much as it was originally with many of the original furnishings. One of the most memorable guests was Gen. Andrew Jackson whose army camped at the stockade while marching to the defense of the city of New Orleans during the War of 1812.
She was the corporate secretary of the family businesses and in 1975 worked with her husband to found the Interco Companies, a company that grew from distribution in all 50 states and on into the international markets. The success of the business cannot be mentioned without credit to the wonderfully dedicated and loyal co-workers who contributed so much to the success of the business ...our heartfelt thanks to you all.
Further thanks to her caregivers during the last two months: Mary, Sue, Paula, Sonya, Sherlene, Marie and the nurses of Hospice of Acadiana.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence J. Walther and Maude Ford Walther and one niece, Priscilla Dickson.
The family is dedicated to education with a spiritual component and any remembrances can be made in her name to the Rayne Catholic Elementary Memorial Fund, 407 S. Polk Street, Rayne, La. 70578 or Hospice of Acadiana.
The family requested that the visiting hours be observed Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Gossen Funeral Home Inc. of Rayne.

John Edward Mouton
A beloved father, husband, brother, uncle, grandfather and friend who loved his family and was loved and admired by his family and friends alike, John Edward Mouton Passed away Monday, October 10, 2005, at 12:00 p.m. as the result of an accident.
A resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Rayne, Louisiana , he was born January 6, 1942. Visitation was at Rabenhorst East on Wednesday Oct. 12, 2005, from 5:00 p.m. till 9:00 p.m. A rosary was led by the Knights of Columbus at 7:00 p.m. Visiting resumes on Thursday Oct. 13, 2005, at St. Patrick Catholic Church from 8:00 a.m. until religious services at lO:OO a.m. conducted by the Father Gerard Martin.
interment will be in Rest Haven Gardens of Memory and Mausoleum.
John is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Virlee Mire Mouton; their two sons, Keith Mouton, and Chad and wife Melissa Mouton; a daughter, Sandra “Missy” and husband Bill Woodard; eight grandchildren, Shane and wife Tiffany Mouton, Rachelle Mouton, Meghan Woodard, Hanna Woodard, Cole Woodard, Paden Mouton, Allie Mouton and Shelby Mouton; one great-grandchild, Alexis Mouton; mother, Marie Mouton and mother-in-law Edwill Mire; four sisters, Jenny and husband Ronnie Melancon, Mary Boudreaux, Pat and husband Leonard Breaux, and Linda Mouton; one sister-in-law, Mildred and husband Ferris Hernandez; three brothers, Edwin and wife Ann Mouton, James and wife Judy Mouton, and Greg and wife Sherry Mouton; and two brother-in-laws, Ray and wife Priscilla Mire and Larry and wife Karie Mire.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leo Mouton and father-in-law, Freddie Mire.
Pallbearers are brothers, James Mouton, Edwin Mouton, and Greg Mouton, Godchild Rene’ Mire and Shannon Mouton and business partner Karl Weber. Honorary pallbearers are Phil and Jadine Brown, Ed and Kathy Rabalais, Jerry and Carolyn Broussard, Bodie and Judy Mestayer, Rowel and Rose Johnson and Judy Heath.
He was founder and part owner in PBC Industrial Supplies, Inc., Drillco, Inc., Mouton Enterprises, Inc., M & W Enterprises and Magnum Solid Carbide, L.L.C. and was retired from the U. S. Navy. He served as usher and Eucharistic Minister at St. Patrick Catholic Church, a board member of Louisiana Employees Mutual Insurance Company, a Grand Knight and State Deputy of Knights of Columbus Council 8601 and 3298.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Michael the Archangel High School, 17521 Monitor, Baton Rouge, LA 70817 or Knights of Columbus 8601 Hurricane Fund, 12424 Brogdon, Baton Rouge, LA 70816.

Anthony John Hornsby
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 12, 2005, at a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Leo Catholic Church for Anthony John Hornsby, 51, who died Sunday, October 9, 2005, at 8:45 p.m. in Crowley after a courageous battle with cancer and kidney failure.
interment was in St. Leo Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Ardoin Hornsby, of Oberlin; three daughters, Blasia Hornsby, of Oberlin, Magen Hornsby, of Oberlin, Blair Hornsby, of Oberlin; mother, Christina Berken Hornsby, of Roberts Cove; two sisters, Diana Hornsby Ronkartz and husband Greg, of Branch, Cynthia Hornsby Landry and husband Kelly, of Lafayette; five brothers, Gregory Hornsby and wife Brenda, of Lake Arthur, Larry Hornsby and wife Sandra, of Duson, Barry Hornsby and wife Tammy, of Lafayette, Jude Hornsby and wife Monica, of Lafayette, Wayne Hornsby and wife Jody, of Rayne; nine nieces, fourteen nephews, two great-nieces.
He was preceded in death by his father, Everd Simon "Bud" Hornsby.
Anthony was a graduate of Notre Dame High School and will be missed by all who knew him. His keen sense of humor, even during some of his darkest moments, was a true testament of his character and strength. Anthony enjoyed hunting and his horses.
Pallbearers were Christopher Hornsby, Matt Hornsby, Scott Ronkartz, Chad Hornsby, Timmy Hornsby, Ryan Hornsby, and Tyler Hornsby.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Trever From, Dwayne and Kelly Bergeaux, Dr. Wayne Walkins.
A rosary was recited at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday.
The family requested that the visiting hours be observed Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until service time.

Angela Morvant
RAYNE - Funeral services are pending for Angela Morvant, 93, of Rayne, who died at 3:10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2005, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette. Duhon Funeral Home in Rayne is in charge of arrangements.

Neomie Hanks Sonnier
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 14, 2005, at a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Catholic Church for Neomie Hanks Sonnier, 91, who died Tuesday, October 11, 2005 in Crowley American Legion Hopsital.
Entombment will be in St. Joseph #2 Masoluem.
Survivors include five nieces, and two nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Sonnier; parents, Ovillia Hanks and Josette Guidry Hanks; one sister, Hilda Junot; two brothers, Nolan Hanks, Enorman Hanks; one nephew, Leeward Junot.
A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Thursday.
The family requested that the visiting hours be observed Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Friday from 8:00 a.m. until service.

Josselin E. Geer
BROOKVILLE, PA. –– Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 3, 2005, in Immaculate Conception Church, with the Rev. Joseph Staszewski officiating, for Josselin E. Geer, 78, of Brookville, Pa., who died Thursday, Sept. 29, 2005, in McKinley Health Care Center.
Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Jefferson County, Pa..
Mrs. Geer was born Nov. 15, 1926, in Rayne to Lee Boudreaux and Lydia Hebert Boudreaux.
She married Ira G. Geer on July 22, 1944, in Rayne. She was widowed when her husband died on Sept. 27, 2003.
She worked as a sales representative for Act II in Brookville.
She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Brookville, the St. Matthews Missionary Society and the Altar-Rosary Society.
She is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Regan of Rayne, and Debra Menchini of Montgomery, N.Y.; two sons, Glenn Geer of Reynoldsville, Pa., and Robert Geer and his wife, Lisa Ann Geer of Knox, Pa.; two sisters, Elsie Besse and Rita Rayon, both of Rayne; one brother, Lionel Boudreaux of Crowley; 17 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two infant children.
Memorials may be made to the Altar-Rosary Society, 129 Graham Ave., Brookville, Pa. 15825 or McKinley Health Care, One Laurelbrooke Dr., Brookville, Pa. 15825.

Cecil John Meche, Jr.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, October 3, 2005, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Father Bill Ruskoski officiating, for Cecil John Meche, Jr., 49, of Rayne, who died Friday, September 30, 2005, at his Rayne residence.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m.Sunday in the funeral home chapel.
Burial was in the Indian Bayou United Methodist Cemetery in Indian Bayou.
Visitation was observed Sunday from 5 to 10 p.m. and Monday from 8 a.m. until time of service.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Meche, Higginbotham; one son, Tyler John Meche, Rayne; three daughters and their spouses, Holly and Jimmy Bell, Rayne, Lindsey and Troy Richard and Hope Meche, all of Church Point; his mother, Delta Meche, Lafayette; one sister, Kathy Meche, Pasadena, Texas ; and two grandchildren, Brysin Richard and Aiden Richard.
Mr. Meche was preceded in death by his father, Mr. Cecil John Meche, Sr.
