Warren J. Hoffpauir
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 5, 2006, at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church in Estherwood for Warren James Hoffpauir, 80, who died at 12:12 a.m. on Tuesday, October 3, 2006, in Estherwood.
The Very Reverend Monsignor Russell Harrington and The Very Reverend Monsignor Paul Metrejean will con-celebrate the Funeral Mass.
Visitation was at Geesey Ferguson Funeral Home in Crowley from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 4, 2006, and from 8:00 a.m. Thursday, October 5, 2006, until time of service.
interment followed in the Estherwood Memorial Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Dolores Broussard Hoffpauir; two daughters, Sandi Maples and her husband Bill, and Nancy Gaspard and her husband Shanon all of Estherwood; his grandchildren, Stacy Hebert of Camas, Washington , Wendy Higginbotham of Rayne, Marc Hebert of Crowley, Trace and Lillian Gaspard of Estherwood; his great-grandchildren, Adam Hebert, Margaret, Madeline and Lydia Higginbotham. Two step-grandchildren, Michelle Williams and Greg Maples of California and four step-great grandchildren; one sister, Martha Hodge of Rayne; and Godchildren, Becky B. Lamm, Greg Broussard and David Hoffpauir.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben Hoffpauir and Lillian Leger Hoffpauir of Rayne, and a brother, Rodney Joseph Hoffpauir of Lake Charles; and one nephew, Stephen Hoffpauir.
Mr. Hoffpauir was a 1944 graduate of Rayne High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II aboard the escort carrier U.S.S. Lunga Point. After his honorable discharge, he associated himself with the Broussard Rice business, in addition to the farming industry until his retirement. Mr. Hoffpauir had an unwavering love for his country and its flag. Not only during his years of service to his country, but also as a veteran. He was instrumental in gathering the shipmates of the U.S.S. Lunga Point and actively participated in the formation of yearly reunions, which created continuous friendships from all across the country. He served as a two term president of the U.S.S. Lunga Point Association, as well as an active member of the Atomic Veterans Association, Crowley American Legion Post #15, having received an award for his 60 year membership. Forty and Eight Voyageur #1558, serving faithfully for 50 years. Mr. Hoffpauir had an unwavering love for his country and its flag.
His devotion to the religious affiliations was evident in his being a charter member of the Father Fontaine Council of the Knights of Columbus #4791, serving as financial secretary for 15 years. He belonged to Monsignor George Mollo Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus. He was a member of the Family Coach Association and past member of the Crusin Cajuns and served as President of the Texas Outlaws.
Pallbearers were Marc Hebert, Adam Hebert, Boyd Higginbotham, Donnie Myers, R.J. Leger, Greg Broussard, Brian Broussard and Frank Gravot.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jeffery Morgan, David Dupuis and Tommy Richard.
The family requests that memorials in memory of Mr. Hoffpauir be made to Hospice of Acadiana, Inc., 2600 Johnston St., Ste 200, Lafayette, LA 70503-3240.

Anthony Michael Richard
Lafayette- Funeral services were held at the Fountain Memorial Funeral Home Chapel Wednesday, October 4, 2006, at 3:00 p.m. for Anthony Michael Richard, 8, who died Monday, October 2, 2006 from injuries sustained in a car accident.
interment was in the Fountain Memorial Cemetery.
Reverend Todd Menard, pastor of the Family Life Christian Fellowship, conducted the services.
Anthony was born in Lafayette, on June 11, 1998, and was a third grade student at Ridge Elementary. He was a very good student who was reading at a fifth grade level. He loved playing with his best friend Tanner and his cousins Dillion Richard and Andrew Hebert. Anthony was too special for words to describe and will be missed by everyone deeply. He was loved by all. He touched everyone he knew and wanted everyone to have salvation. Anthony was his Dad’s best friend.
Anthony was a member of the Royal Ranger at Family Life in Lafayette. He loved watching the Disney channel and playing video games. He loved fishing, collecting baseball cards and reading, especially the Bible. He especially had love of the Lord and was a faithful churchgoer.
Survivors include his parents, Anthony Richard and Mary Gaspard Richard of Lafayette; brother, Scott Montet of Lafayette; two sisters, Megan Montet of Lafayette and Slade Richard of Columbus, GA; his maternal grandmother, Mary Lou Ryan Gaspard of Lafayette; his paternal grandparents, Donald and Louella Leon Richard, Sr. of Rayne; aunts, Patricia Gaspard of Shreveport, Sandra G. LeBlanc and her husband Scott of Lumberton, Texas , Julie G. Brown of Lafayette and Monica R. Hebert and her husband Kelly of Lafayette; uncles, Paul Gaspard of Lafayette, Donny Richard of Kingwood, Texas , and Billie Richard of Rayne.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Ronnie Gaspard and an aunt, Sue Richard.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed Tuesday, October 3, 2006, from 12 noon until 9:00 p.m. and resume on Wednesday at 8:00 a.m. until the time of the services.
Fountain Memorial Funeral Home, located at the corner of Winchester (off Congress St.) and Pandora St. behind Adrien’s Supermarket was in charge of all arrangements

Brandon Joseph Bourque
A memorial service will be announced at a later date, as well as burial arrangements, for Brandon Joseph Bourque, 25, of Crowley, who died at 1:55 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 21, 2006, in American Legion Hospital in Crowley.
He is survived by his mother, Norma Jean Dyson, Crowley; father, Joseph Thomas Bourque, Mobile, Ala.; two brothers, Christopher Joseph Bourque, Crowley, and Anthony Joseph Bourque, Jennings; three sisters, Misty Lynn Dyson and Brittany Paige Bourque, both of Mobile, Ala., and Jessica Marie Fergerson, North Dakota; paternal grandmother, Emma Simon, Crowley; aunts Melline Joan Waters, of North Carolina, Gail Bourque, Crowley, Kathy Bourque, Florida, and Carrie and Roland Simon, Crowley; and seven nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Billie Joan McClain and Norman Jack Waters, Sr., and paternal grandfather, Opha “Joe” Bourque.
Duhon Funeral Home of Crowley is in charge of arrangements.

Raoul Lagneaux
Raoul Lagneaux, 94, died September 19, 2006, in Newnan Ga., where he had resided since 2001. He was born in Lafayette, La, lived the majority of his life in Mire, La., where he made his living as a cotton farmer.
He is survived by two children, Ronald Lagneaux and Margaret L. Roger, son-in-law Roland J. Roger, Jr., four grandchildren, Sonia Marsolan, Lynette Cone, Ronald Lagneaux Jr. and Dionne Guajardo and eight great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Effie Meche Lagneaux; his parents, Felix and Elena Trahan Lagneaux; three brothers, Meus, Ovey, and Eugene Lagneaux; and nine sisters, Margaret Hernandez, Bertha Hernandez, Elba Guidry, Irby Meche, Rita Romero, Ida Martin, Inez Bacque, Emily Hernandez and Elena Lagneaux.
He loved and enjoyed being with all of his family and was especially proud of his grandchildren, who all affectionately called him Poppa. All who knew him will remember that he worked as hard as any man could, believed in God our Father, loved to eat ice-cream and have a Saturday night beer. He was loved by all of his family and will be sadly missed.
A church service will be held for him at St. George Catholic Church in Newnan, Ga., and, at a later date, a gathering of family and friends will be scheduled in his honor at the family farm in Mire, La.
His family thanks his nieces and nephews for never losing contact with him and the family also expresses a special appreciation to Minnie Spratlin of Newnan, Ga., who gave him uninterrupted care and attention in his final years.

Michael "Mike" Clifford Guidry
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 25, 2006, in Gossen Funeral Home Chapel for Michael "Mike" Clifford Guidry, 53, who died Friday, September 22, 2006, at 3:00 a.m. in Rayne Guest Home.
interment was in St. Joseph Cemetery #2.
Survivors include his wife, Deanna "Dee" Guidry, of Rayne; one son, Michael Scotty Guidry, of Houston, Texas ; one daughter, Brooke Lee Guidry, of Church Point; one brother, Terry Guidry, of Texas , two half brothers, C.J. Mire, of Crowley, and Toby Guidry, of Iota; one step-brother, Frank Meche, of Mire; two step-sisters, Melissa DeBoer, of Mire, and Linda Meche Thibodeaux, of Carencro.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford Jean Guidry and Naomie Lavergne Guidry; and one brother, David Dean Guidry.
A rosary was recited at 7:00 p.m. Sunday.
The family requested that the visiting hours be observed Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. and Monday from 8:00 a.m. until services.
Arrangements were entrusted to Gossen Funeral Home Inc. of Rayne.

Melise Bearb Brasseaux
Funeral services were held at 4:00 p.m. Monday, September 25, 2006, at a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Catholic Church for Melise Brasseaux, who died at 3:10 p.m. Friday, September, 22, 2006, at Crowley American Legion Hospital.
interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery in Crowley.
Father Bill Ruskoski conducted the funeral services. Altar server was Adam Meche. Readers were Mary Brasseaux and Lorraine Meche. Giftbearers were Hilman and Verline Meche and Ervin and Mary Brasseaux. Organist was Phyllis Simar and vocalist was Ron Moreau.
Survivors include one daughter, Verline Meche and husband Hilman Meche, of Rayne; one son, Ervin Brasseaux and wife Mary Brasseaux, of Crowley; two sisters, Mrs. Odell "Agatha" Melancon, of Rayne, and Mrs. Ivy "Ludy" Lantier, of Scott; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Edesse Bearb, of Lafayette; six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Remie Brasseaux; parents, Joe and Melaize Alleman Bearb; three sisters, Mrs. Sidney "Edith" Leger, Mrs. Marcena "Elise" Smith, and Mrs. Cleveland "Eva Mae" Lavergne; and one brother, Advia Bearb.
A rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. and Monday from 8:00 a.m. until service time.
Pallbearers were Blaine Meche, Kevin Meche, Myron Meche, Jim Bearb, Stuart Gonzales and Kermit Helo.
Honorary pallbearers were Donna Helo, Lorna Gonzales, Karen Kritzer and Lorraine Meche.
Arrangements were entrusted to Gossen Funeral Home Inc. of Rayne.

Malcolm "Bubba" Anthony Zaunbrecher
Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m.Tuesday, September 26, 2006, at a Mass of Christian Burial in Gossen Funeral Home Chapel for Malcolm "Bubba" Anthony Zaunbrecher, 74, who died Saturday, September 23, 2006, at 9:25 p.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.
interment was in St. Joseph Cemetery #2.
Survivors include his wife, Mona Smith Zaunbrecher, of Rayne; one daughter, Cheryl Zaunbrecher Folds and husband Dowell, of Rayne; two sons, Malcolm "Tony" Anthony Zaunbrecher II and wife Sue Ellen, Simpson Zaunbrecher, of Rayne, and Burton "Burt" Thomas Zaunbrecher, of Lafayette; seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one grandson, Kirk Zaunbrecher; parents, Ferdinand Zaunbrecher and Eve Thelma Hines Zaunbrecher; and one brother, Reginald Louis Zaunbrecher, Sr..
A rosary was recited at 7:00 p.m. Monday.
The family requested that the visiting hours be observed Monday from 11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until service time.
Arrangements were entrusted to Gossen Funeral Home Inc. of Rayne.

Lillian Marie Daigle Morgan
Memorial services were held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 26, 2006, in Gossen Funeral Chapel for Lillian Marie Daigle Morgan, 87, who died Friday, September 22, 2006, at 11:50 a.m. at her residence in Crowley.
Survivors include two daughters, Winnie JoAnn Morgan, of Crowley, and Mary Louise Leger, of Crowley; two sons, Lawrence Morgan, of Crowley, and Lynn Morgan, of Crowley; two sisters, Lillian Daigle Melancon, of Kaplan, and Laurendia Navarre, of Crowley; eight grandchildren, Letitia Peyton, Mark Leger, Anitra Hanks, Dawn Morgan, Lawrence Morgan Jr., Myron Leger, Graison Morgan and Victoria Lonson; and 17 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Enoch Morgan; parents, Laurent Daigle and Odelia Laverne Daigle; one sister, Mary Spell; three brothers, Dermas Daigle Dominic Daigle and Gabriel Daigle; one granddaughter, Heather Rae Morgan.
A rosary was recited at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday.
The family greeted friends Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until service time at Gossen Funeral Home.
The arrangements were entrusted to Gossen Funeral Home Inc. of Rayne.

Sidney Meche
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 26, 2006, in the Chauvin Funeral Home Chapel in Houma for Sidney Meche, 78, who died Sunday, September 24, 2006, at 9:42 p.m.
A native of Rayne, he was a resident of Gray, La.
Burial was in the Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Visitation was from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, September 25, and from 8 a.m. until time of services on Tuesday, September 26.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mary Anders Meche of Gray; his mother-in-law, Pearl Anders of Houma; a son, Bud Brossette of Oklahoma ; a daughter, Sue Ford of Texas ; a brother, Anotole Meche of Mamou; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie Meche and Alma Meche; brothers, Forest, Clarence, Jessie, Masie and Harry Meche; sisters, Dovie Huth, Ellla Arceneaux, Ruby Riley, and Alice Blair.
He was a retired roughneck for Wheless Company, and he was a parishioner of Victory Christian Church.
Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. of Houma was in charge of funeral arrangements.
