Carl Adam Morgan, Jr.
Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 26, 2006, in Centenary United Methodist Church for Carl Adam Morgan, Jr., 43, who died Sunday, September 24, 2006, at his residence.
interment was in Indian Bayou Methodist Cemetery.
Survivors include three sons, Tanner Conques, of Rayne, Kaenon Morgan, of Judice, and Ian Morgan, of Judice; one daughter, Sydnie Morgan, of Judice; parents, Carl and Aloma LaVergne Morgan, Sr., of Rayne; one sister, Angie Allen and husband Mike, of Rayne; two brothers, Kreg Morgan, of Rayne, and Greg Morgan and wife Jill, of Rayne; one aunt, Flo Breaux and husband Melvin, of Rayne; three uncles, Richard LaVergne, of Garlan, Texas , Al LaVergne, of Conroe, Texas , and John Morgan, of Lake Charles.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ersin and Rita LaVergne, and Allen and Laura Morgan.
The family requested that the visiting hours be observed Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. until services time.
Arrangements were entrusted to Gossen Funeral Home Inc. of Rayne.
Robynne Authement
LAKE CHARLES - Today the Lord has called Robynne to join His "Orchestra of Angels" in the sky! Robynne, 43, Passed away September 16, 2006 at her residence in Rayne.
She was born on May 16, 1963 in Houma to Weldon P. Authement, Sr. and Marie DesRoches Authement. She grew up and went to school in Cameron. She graduated from McNeese State University with a B.S. Degree in Music.
She then went on to be a band director at Oberlin High School, Lavonia High School and Rayne High School. She will be remembered for her dedication in teaching music and the love for her students. To her family and friends, she was known as Robynne, but to her students she was always known as "Miss A". She was a member of Sigma Alpha Iota Sorority and also, a member of the Eunice Community Band.
Survivors include two sisters, Vanessa Davidson and husband Daniel of Grand Lake, and Kathy Stoute and husband Louie, Jr. of Lake Charles; one brother, Ted Authement of Sulphur and numerous nephews and nieces and a very dear friend, Nancy Martin of Maringouin.
She was preceded in death by her parents Weldon and Marie Authement, a brother Weldon Authement, Jr.; her grandparents Norris and Blanche Authement and Theodore and Helen DesRoches and a nephew, Louie Otha Stoute.
Her funeral was at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 20, in Hixson Funeral Home. Visitation was from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. Monday at Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne, and at Hixson Funeral Home in Lake Charles from 2 p.m. on Tuesday until service time on Wednesday.
interment was in Our Lady Star Of The Sea Cemetery

Clyde Joseph Spell
ALVIN, TEXAS –– Clyde Joseph Spell, age 84, of Alvin, Texas , Passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2006, in Webster.
Clyde was born on January 14, 1922, in Rayne, to parents Isaac and Agnes Menard Spell.
He was a member of the Army of the United States and served in World War II obtaining the rank of Sergeant.
He married Hilda Richard on July 18, 1945, in Rayne. They moved to the Alvin area in 1981 having moved from Houston. He was a member of First United Methodist Church.
He retired from Affiliated Rice, Incorporated. He enjoyed baseball, working with his hands, working on cars and supervising others as they worked on cars.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Leroy Spell.
Clyde is survived by his wife, Hilda Spell of Alvin; children, Carolyn and James Walker of Alvin, Rodney and Kathy Spell of Alvin and Cathy Ater of Houston; sisters, Agnes Morgan of Crowley, Hazel and David Leon of El Paso, Texas , and Gloria Lahausee of Erath; grandchildren, Carl and Beverly Spell of Alvin, Christine and Travis Bridges of Houston, Carol and Tom Buchanan of Katy, Alison and Jerry Newcomb of Cleveland and Robert W. Joyner of Alvin; great grandchildren: Ashly Spell, Matthew Spell, Brett Bridges, Joshua Bridges, Taylor Bridges, Kyle Buchanan, Nathan Buchanan, Bobby Johnson and Cheyanne Johnson .
Visitation was held on Tuesday September 19, 2006, at 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Froberg Chapel.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday September 20, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. at Froberg Chapel with Rev. J.R. Shuff officiating.
interment followed at Houston National Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Carl Spell, Travis Bridges, Tom Buchanan, Jerry Newcomb, Larry Spell and Bubba Morgan.
Arrangements were made under the direction of Froberg Funeral Home 115 N. Hill Alvin, Texas 77511.
Leo James Menard
Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 11, 2006, at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Father Brian Taylor officiating, for Leo James Menard, 67, of Carencro, who died at 4:18 a.m. Friday, Sept. 8, 2006, in Our of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.
Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery
No. 2 in Rayne.
Visitation was observed Monday from 8 a.m. until time of services that afternoon.
He is survived by two daughters, Lisa M. and her husband, Blane Sonnier, Carencro, and Rachelle Guidry, Trinity, Texas ; a grandchild, Dustin Sonnier, Carencro; two stepsisters, Toni N. Fontenot and Anna Mae Alleman, both of Rayne; four stepbrothers, Linton Daigle, Leroy Daigle, Elvis Daigle and Vernal Daigle, all of Rayne; and two nieces, Monique D. Moreland, Abbeville, and Wendy Domingue, Lafayette.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louvine Menard and Beulah Daigle; stepfather, Henry Daigle; three stepbrothers, John Daigle, Curtis Daigle and Willis Miller; one stepsister, Gertha Daigle; and one sister, Dorothy M. Domingue.

Mitchell Wayne "Pork Chop" Romero, Sr.
Funeral services were held Saturday, September 16, 2006, at 3:30 p.m. in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Mitchell Wayne Romero, Sr., age 50, who Passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2006, at 4:00 a.m. at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport.
Pastor Mark Rumfello of Grace Believers Bible Church in Baton Rouge officiated at the services.
Mr. Romero was a native of Rayne and had been a lifelong resident of Scott. He was a former member of the Scott Volunteer Fire Department.
Survivors include one son, Mitchell W. Romero, Jr. of Duson; one daughter, Melissa Beth Romero of Lafayette; parents, Nelson Romero, Sr. and the former Alma Mary Domingue; one grandchild, Daniel Jordon LeBlanc ; two very special godchildren, Rachael Romero LeBlanc and Troy Lavergne; one brother, Nelson Romero, Jr. of Lafayette; two sisters, Barbara Romero Couvillion of Duson and Monique Yvette Romero of Lafayette; godmother, Bertha Royer of Rayne; his former wife, Romona Michaud Romero; two nieces, Michelle Couvillion Lavergne and Meagan Jeanmard; one nephew, Darrin Romero; four great-nephews, Joshua, Blake, Brandon, and Troy, Jr.; one great-niece, Kayla; and a host of cousins, many of whom he was very close to.
He was preceded in death by a baby sister, Marjorie Ann Romero; and his godfather, Nolan Boudreaux.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to help defray funeral expenses.
The family wished to extend special thanks to the Doctors and Staff of LSU Health Sciences Center in Lafayette and Shreveport.

Funeral services wer eheld at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 6, 2006, in Gossen Funeral Home chapel for (Catfish) Donald James Bourque, 50, who died Sunday, September 3, 2006, in Crowley’s American Legion Hospital.
Survivors include wife, Shannon Romero Bourque, Rayne; two sons, Neil Bourque of Florida, and Eric Dogua of Rayne; three daughters, Shenna Lynn Carran of Eunice, and Brandy and Joleena Romero, both of Rayne; 11 grandchildren, Daniel and Major Forrdstiver, Jarrett LeJeune, Joseph, Jason, Jessica, Chase, Logan, Blaine, Carran, and B;amoe Carram and Carly Rayne Bourque.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wedest Bourque and Gladys Leger Bourque; four brothers, Willie Pete, Raywood, Barry and Bradley Bourque; three sisters, Levey Neivi, Mona Daigle and Deanna Brignac.
The family requested that the visitation be observed Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until service time.

Laura Monceaux Adams
Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 11, 2006, at 10 a.m. in Duhon Funeral Home’s Chapel in Crowley, with Father Val officiating, for Laura Monceaux Adams, 78, of Crowley, who died at 7:05 a.m. Friday, Sept. 8, 2006, at her residence.
Burial was in Gueydan Cemetery
in Gueydan.
Visitation was observed from 11 a.m. Sunday until 10 p.m. and from 8 a.m. on Monday until time of services.
She is survived by nine sons, Eugene Adams, Niceville, Ark., Edwards Adams of Birmingham, Ala., Shelton Adams and Rodney Adams, both of Folsom, Paul Adams, California, Russell Adams and Michael Adams, both of Crowley, and Robert Adams, Rayne; four daughters, Lou Ella Adams, and Madeline Prejean, both of Crowley, and Joyce Lavergne, Lafayette, and Annie Belle Glover, Covington; 35 grandchildren; and 24 great-children.
Ms. Adams was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Paul Adams; three daughters, Betty Lou Adams, Ruby Duhon and Marjorie Ann Adams; an infant son; her parents, siblings and one granddaughter, Amanda Adams.

Joyce Faul
Funeral services were held on Saturday, Sept. 9,2006, at 2:30 p.m. in the Duhon Funeral Home chapel, with Father Brian Taylor officiating, for Joyce Faul, 72, of Crowley, who died Thursday, Sept. 7, 2006, at 9:30 p.m. in her home.
Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery
in Rayne.
The Rosary was prayed Friday at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
She is survived by her husband, Albert Faul, Crowley; her mother, Loramda Navarre, Crowley; a sister, Ethel N. Dogay, Roberts Cove; one brother, Joseph Navarre, Rayne; and special friends who were like her children, Charles and Jessica Domingue and Lester Racca.
Mrs. Faul was preceded in death by her father, Andrew Navarre.
She was a co-owner of the Green Frog Lounge in Crowley for several years.
Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne was in charge of all funeral arrangements.
