CROWLEY 末 Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2005, in the funeral home chapel, with Father Matthew Higginbotham officiating, for Evia Lafosse Vincent, 91, of Crowley, who died Sunday, Sept. 25, 2005, at Earl K. Long Hospital in Baton Rouge.
Burial will be in Hanks Cemetery in Morse.
A rosary was recited at 6 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
Visitation was observed on Tuesday from 2 to 10 a.m. and on Wednesday from 8 a.m. until time of services.
She is survived by one daughter, Russa Mae Murphy, Crowley; four sons, Robert Breaux and Bufford Breaux, both of Crowley, Leeferd Breaux, Sulphur and Stutes LeBlanc , Morse; 21 grandchildren; 62 great-grandchildren; 31 great-great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-great-grandchildren.
Ms. Vincent was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Breaux; two grandson, Burton LeBlanc and Terrin James Breaux; one great-grandson, Jeffery Allen Breaux; one great-great-granddaughter, Amber Lynn Hebert; one brother, Cora Lafosse; and three sisters, Marie Chapman, Amelia Meaux and Elmena Labove.
Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Odile Navarre Zaunbrecher
Funeral services will be held Thursday Sept. 29, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Odile Guillot Navarre Zaunbrecher, 95 who died Saturday, September 24, 2005, at the Rayne Guest Home.
Survivors include one son, Wade and his wife Codrey Navarre of Lafayette; one daughter-in-law, Gene Navarre Richard; her step-daughter, Joyce Faulk of Rayne; one sister-in-law, Hazel and her husband Curtis Stutes of Jennings; eleven grandchildren, Keith Navarre, Emile and his wife Polly Navarre, Tony Navarre, Wade and his wife Joan Navarre, Tommy Navarre, Tammy Navarre, Brady and his wife Shannon Navarre, Bruce and his wife Patty Navarre, Bennett Navarre, Lucy Weber and her husband Billy, and Marcie and her husband Lonnie Haynes; 23 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Euphimie Breaux Guillot; her first husband, Romain Navarre; her second husband, Alton Zaunbrecher; one son, Maxie Navarre; and two grandsons, Steve and Paul Navarre.
Mrs. Odile was a member of the Catholic Daughters and Ladies Homemakers.
Visitation was Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. and Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until time of services
Burial will be in the Rayne Cemetery under the direction of Gossen Funeral Home of Rayne

Ivy J. Doucet
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 30, 2005, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Father Bill Ruskoski officiating, for Ivy J. Doucet, 74, of Rayne, who died at 3:41 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25, 2005, in Rehoboth McKinley Hospital in New Mexico.
Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Ville Platte.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel.
Visitation will be observed Thursday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and on Friday from 8 a.m. until time of service.
He is survived by one son, Kerry Doucet of Duson; one daughter, Judy Doucet Iqbal, Fletcher, N.C.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Mr. Doucet was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Oville Doucet and Mrs. Iris Richard Doucet; one grandson, Cole Rimmer; and one brother, Lesley Doucet.
Mr. Doucet retired after 17 years with Halliburton out of the New Orleans area.

Bernice Schexnider
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 24, 2003, at a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Catholic Church for Bernice Schexnider, 88, who died April 22, 2003, at her residence.
interment was in St. Joseph Cemetery #2.
The Rev. Thomas Vu, associate pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church, was the celebrant for the funeral Mass and conducted the services.
Survivors include four daughters, Margie Bujol, of Rayne, Yvonne Price, of Rayne, Faye Pleasant and husband Mark, of Lafayette, Della Richardson, of Mobile, Ala.; one son, Harvey Dale Schexnider and wife Catherine, of Lafayette; one daughter-in-law, Margaret Comeaux, of Rayne; two sisters, Eula Mae Ortego, of Evangline, Ruby Lavergne, of Orange, Texas ; two brothers, Hurbert Beard, of Grosse Tete, Curley Beard, of Evangline; eighteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Schexnider; one son, James Comeaux; parents, Willie Beard and Amantha Fontenot; four son-in-laws, James Price, Michael Richardson, Sr., Chubby Bujol, Alvin Fontenot; two brothers; and one sister.
A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Gossen Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Billy Price, Gwain Comeaux, Joshua Schexnider, Cason Pleasant, Briton Pleasant, James Price.
Honorary pallbearers wereRobert Bujol, and Michael Richardson, Jr.
Arrangements were entrusted to Gossen Funeral Home, Inc. of Rayne.

Varice Bourgeois
CROWLEY 末 Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Sunday, April 27, 2003, in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Mr. Rodless Leleux officiating, for Varice Bourgeois, 85, of Crowley, who died at 2:50 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2003, at his home in Crowley.
A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m.Saturday in the chapel.
Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery in Crowley.
He is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Mary B. and John Dupuis, Shirley and james LeJeune, Jennings, and Charlotte Sue and B. Ritchie, Lake Charles; a son-in-law, Darby Thibodeaux, Rayne; seven grandchildren, J.D. Thibodeaux and Tina Clement, both of Rayne, Mark Clement, Carencro, Charissa Guidry, Jennings, Derek LeJeune, New Orleans, Monica LeJeune, Monroe, and Melissa Hammond, Lafayette; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Elvie Vorrhies, Beaumont, Texas , Nelma O達anion, Orange, Texas , Mary Gongaware, Pasandena, Texas , and Ramona Leverett, Vidor, Texas ; numerous nieces and nephews; a former wife, Clarice Barousse, Jennings; and two loving caregivers, Christine Mire and James Thibodeaux, both of Crowley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Elvie Bourgeois; his brothers, Leo Bourgeois, J.r, and Albert Bourgeois; his siters, Frankie Rue, Armant Robinson, Eva Richard, Pearl Besse, Ora LeJeune, and Leontine Kirtley; his daughter, Laura Thibodeaux; and his granddaughter, Patty Marie Guidry.
A native of Carencro, he had lived in Crowley for the last 60 years. He had worked as a farm laborer, deliveryman, roustabout and offshore cook.

Emise Leger
CHURCH POINT 末 Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 28, 2003, in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, with Msgr. Fred Swenson officiating, for Emise Leger, 95, of Eunice.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel Sunday.
Burial was in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church Cemetery on Highway 35.
She is survived by one daughter, Joyce Comeaux of Church Point; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and over 13 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Aluce Leger; three son, Kermit, Eldon and Bert Leger; one grandson, Michael Leger; her parents, Euma and Isreal Daigle, Sr.; one brother, Isreal Daigle, Jr.; and two sisters, Julie Daigle and Lelia Bihm.
Duhon Funeral Home of Church Point was in charge of funeral arrangements.

David D. Thibodeaux
CROWLEY 末 Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2003, at 3 p.m. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Lloyd Singley officiating, for David D. Thibodeaux, 68, of Crowley, who died Sunday, April 27, 2003, at 11:57 p.m. in the American Legion Hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Laura Thibodeaux, Crowley; three sons and their spouses, Otis James and Emily Thibodeaux, Crowley, Kenneth and Sue Thibodeaux, Crowley, and Timothy and Theresa Thibodeaux, Midland; three daughters, Brenda Trahan, Lake Charles, Deniose and Dennis McClure, Crowley, and Michelle and Tommy Thibodeaux, Rayne; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and animal daughter, Patches D. Thibodeaux.
He served during The Korean Conflict in the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Amanda Louvierre Thibodeaux; and three brothers, Philip and Mike Dunphy, and Otis Thibodeaux.
Duhon Funeral Home of Crowley was in charge of funeral arrangements.
Services set Thursday for LaCroix
Funeral arrangements are incomplete as of press time for Timothy Jude LaCroix who died April 29, 2003, at his home.
A memorial service will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church here at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, May 1, 2003.
A complete obituary will be published in the Tribune痴 Sunday edition, May 4.

Dr. Joseph A. George
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 19, 2003, at a service of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Catholic Church for Dr. Joseph A. George, 78, who died at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2003, at his residence.
Entombment was in St. Joseph #2 Masoleum.
The Rev. Bill Roskoski, pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church, was the celebrant of the funeral Mass and conducted the services. Joni Hamilton, organist, sang for the services "Ave Marie", "On Eagles Wings", "Psalm 23", and 釘e Not Afraid".
Survivors include his wife, the former Janice Scheree Billiot, of Rayne; two daughters, Leisa Jo George, of Rayne, Kathi G. Ledet, of Lafayette; two sons, Jeremy Joseph George, of Rayne, and Joseph Thomas George, of Rayne; five grandchildren, Jamie Kartsimas and his wife Denise, Leisa Kartsimas, Kay Ledet, Joseph Ledet, all of Lafayette, and David Michael George, of Rayne; one great granddaughter, Jade Eleni Arceneaux, of Lafayette; two brothers and four sisters.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom George and Dora Khoury, grandmother, Mathilda George, one son Joseph Antoine George, Jr., and two brothers.
Joseph A. George, M.D., a native of Crowley, was the son of Tom George and Dora Khoury. He graduated from St. Michael's High School in 1941 and went on to obtain a degree of medicine from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge in 1952. He practiced medicine in Lake Arthur, Kaplan, Lake Charles, and Rayne for a total of 51 years.
He was in the Army Air Corps from 1943-1945 and a veteran of World War II and the Korean War having been awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Presidential Unit Citation and the Air Medal with four oak clusters. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army Medical Corps with the rank of Captain in 1954. He also served in the Louisiana National Guard and the United States Army Reserve.
He was a member of the Louisana State Medical Society, the Acadia Parish Medical Society, the Louisiana Academy of Family Physicians and a Life Member of the American Academy of Family Practice Physicians. He served on the board of directors of the Kaplan State Bank and Rayne State Bank. He was on the board of directors of the Syrian, Lebanese, American Club of Louisiana , the Cedars Club of Lafayette and a founder of the Phoenician Club of Acadia Parish.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed on Friday from 1 til 10 p.m. with a rosary at 7 pm. Visitation continue dSaturday at 8 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m.
Pallbearers were Jamie Kartsimas, Jeremy George, Joey Ledet, Ken Bell, Willis Arceneaux and Darryl R. Billiot.
Arrangement were entrusted to Gossen Funeral Home Inc. of Rayne.
