Nell Cunningham
Funeral services will be held for Nell Cunningham on Thursday, April 24, 2003, at 1 p.m. in Lane Chapel of Noel United Methodist Church in Shreveport. Graveside services will be Friday. April 25, 2003, at 1 p.m. in Rayne Protestant Cemetery, Rayne. Officiating will be Reverend Regina Wren and Dr. Theresa McConnell. Visitation will be held at Forest Park Funeral Home, 1201 Louisiana Avenue, Shreveport, on Wednesday between the hours of 5 and 7 p.m.
Ms. Cunningham, who Passed away on April 19, 2003, was a very active member of Noel United Methodist Church. She was one of the founders of the Noel Neighborhood Ministries, which is a program that provides food to families in the Highland Area. She also dedicated her time to participate in the We Care Hospital Program that visits patients in local hospitals. She was also active in the Literacy Volunteers of America, Louisiana Library Association, and AARP. She was very proud of her family heritage in Rayne, and in her spare time enjoyed working in the field of genealogy.
Ms. Cunningham was preceded in death by her parents, Janie and Marvin Cunningham; a brother, Jim Cunningham; and a sister, Bess Wallace.
She is survived by nieces, Kathleen C. Kuehl of Pensacola Beach, Fla., and Janie Wallace of Shreveport. She is also survived by four nephews, James M. Cunningham, III of Rayne, William J. Wallace, Jr. of Tulsa, Okla, Charles C. Wallace of Kansas City, Mo. and Richard J. Wallace of Oneonta. N.Y. She leaves behind a special sister-in-law Frances A. Cunningham of Rayne.
Ms. Cunningham was a librarian for 39 years and enjoyed helping others whenever she could. The family would like to express their appreciation to Drs. Hunt and Massengill. A special thank you goes to Brenda and “Sammy” at Life Care. Ms. Cunningham will be greatly missed by all that had the privilege of knowing her.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donation be made to the Noel Neighbor Ministries, Literacy Volunteers of America, Louisiana Library Association or the Highland Restoration Partnerships.

Ada Marie Seaux Daigle
Rayne - Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2003, at a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Catholic Church for Ada Marie Seaux Daigle, 76, who died at 1:10 a.m. Monday, April 21, 2003, at Rayne Guest Home.
interment was in St. Joseph Cemetery #1.
Survivors include four sisters, Mary Seaux Begnaud, of Rayne, Isabelle Seaux Chaney, of Crowley, Frances Seaux Veronie, of Lake Charles, May Joyce Seaux Bereligh, of Franklin; and one brother, Howard Seaux, of Rayne.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Darmas Daigle, Sr.; one son, Darmas Daigle, Jr.; parents, Gabriel and Dories Lavergne Seaux; one sister, Anna Joyce Courville; and three brothers, Dudley Seaux, Regis Seaux, Harry Seaux. She was a native and resident of Rayne all her life.
A rosary was recited at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 8 a.m. Wednesday until time of services.
Arrangements had been entrusted to Gossen Funeral Home Inc. of Rayne.

Jon Ryan Monceaux
Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 16, 2003, at 4 p.m. in the Assumption Catholic Church in Mire, for Jon Ryan Monceaux, 27, who died Tuesday.
Survivors include his mother, Sapha L. Richard of Mire; father, John "TAT" Monceaux of Morse; one brother, Jeremy Monceaux of Mire; his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Lantier of Mire; and numerous aunts and uncles.
Jon was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Deus Monceaux.
Burial was in the Church Of Assumption Cemetry under the direction of Gossen Funeral home of Rayne

Percy P. Duplechin
CHURCH POINT –– Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 14, 2003, in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, with Father Nicky Trahan officiating, for Percy P. Duplechin, 73, of Church Point, who died at 1:45 p.m. Saturday, April 12, at his Church Point Home.
A rosary was prayerd Sunday, at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
Burial was in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Church Point.
He is survived by his wife, Betty B. Duplechin, Church Point; three daughters, Donna and Bert Boss, Carencro, Bonnie and Darrell Boudreaux, Cankton; and Tammy and Mike Henry, Lake Charles; one son, Harvey and Ardys Duplechin, Church Point; two sisters, Mary Migl, Scott, and Crunis Hebert, Lafayette; one brother, Curley Duplechin; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Harvey Duplechin, Andrew Duplechin, Dale Babineaux, Alex Duplechin, Kenneth Venable and Curley Duplechin.
Honorary pallbearers were Bert Boss, Mike Henry, Darrell Boudreaux and Ronald Venable.
Mr. Percy was preceded in death by his parents, J.B. and Alfreida Duplechin; one son, Danny Duplechin; and one grandson, Eddie Boudreaux.
Mr. Percy owned and operated Percy’s Barber Shop in Church Point for several years.
Duhon Funeral Home of Church Point was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Frank E. “Sam” Morgan
Funeral services were held Thursday, April 10, 2003, at 11 a.m. in Ebenezer Nazarene Church in Ebenezer, with Pastor Talhelm officiating, for Frank E. “Sam” Morgan, 79, of Rayne, who died Monday, April 7, 2003, at 10:15 p.m.
Burial was in the Indian Bayou United Methodist Cemetery.
He is survived by one daughter, Janet M. Adams, Ethel, Miss.; two brothers, Leo Morgan and Austin Morgan, both of Crowley; two sisters, Ruth Boulet, Indian Bayou, and Bernice Crawford, Hattisburg, Miss.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nelma C. Morgan; his parents, Etta and John Morgan; one daughter, Mary Spaetgens; and one brother, Willard Morgan.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.
Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Linda Ann Cormier
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 14, 2003, at Abundant Life Assembly of God Church for Linda Ann Cormier, 53, who died at 3 a.m. Friday, April 11, 2003, at our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.
interment was in Abshire Cemetery.
Pastor Melvin Finley of Abundant Life Assembly of God Church, was the celebrant of the funeral and conducted the services.
Survivors include her husband of 32 years, Gerald Cormier, of Rayne; one daughter, Libby Cormier, of Rayne; four sons, Jason Briggs Cormier, of Columbus, Ohio, Joshua Cormier, Airman First Class U.S. Air force, of Anchorage, Alaska, Joseph Cormier, IT3 U.S. Navy, of Persian Gulf, and John Cormier, of Canada; her mother, Lawrence L. Hanks, of Rayne; two granddaughters, Jaidyn Cormier of San Diego, Calif, and Charli Cormier, of Pennsylvania ; and one sister, Evelyn Brown, of Rayne.
She was preceded in death by her father, Herbert Hanks.
Arrangements were entrusted to Gossen Funeral Home of Rayne.

Percy Leger
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2003, at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Father Thomas Vu officiating, for Percy Leger, 76, of Rayne, who dided at 9:05 p.m. Monday, April 14, 2003, at his Rayne home.
A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m.Tuesday.
Burial was in the Assumption Center in Mire.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel Leger, Rayne; two sons, Norris Leger, Rayne, and Harold Leger, Broussard; three daughters, Barbara Meaux, Rayne, Brenda Pryor and Linda Thibodeaux, both of Crowley; one brother, Alvin Leger, Rayne; one sister, Verna Mae Bourque, Lafayette; 18 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Carroll Leger; his parents, Inez and Valarie Leger; two sisters, Alita Leger and Theresa Alleman; and one brother, Pearly Leger.
Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne was in charge of funeral arrangments.

Clifton Comeaux
CROWLEY –– Funeral services were held Monday, April 7, 2003, at 10 a.m. in St. Michael Catholic Church in Crowley, with Father Gary Schnexnider officiating, for Clifton Comeaux, 81, of Patterson, who died Thursday, April 7, 2003, at 8:15 a.m. in the Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City.
A rosary was recited Sunday, April 6, at 6:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery in Crowley.
He is survived by one son, Lawrence Comeaux, Crowley; one daughter, Cynthia LaSalle, Patterson; one brother, Collins Comeaux, Iota; three sisters, Mrs.Roy (Winnie Regan, Crowley; and Geraldine Ewing and Clara Douglas, both of Egan; and four grandchildren, Greg LaSalle, Telly LaSalle, Marsha Comeaux and Amy Comeaux.
Mr. Comeaux served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Georgette Chachere Comeaux; his parents, Edward and Edna Leger Comeaux; and two brothers, Edward Comeaux, Jr., and Lil Jay Comeaux.
Duhon Funeral Home of Crowley was in charge of funeral arrangements.
