Funeral services wereheld at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2003, at a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Leo Catholic Church in Roberts Cove for Tanya Louise Hornsby, 19, who died at 6:45 a.m. Monday, April 7, 2003.
The Rev. Francis Bourgeois, Pastor of St. Leo Catholic Church, was the celebrant of the funeral Mass and conducted the services.
Survivors include her parents, Ronald "Tuba" and Rose Thevis Hornsby, of Branch; one brother, William Hornsby, of Branch; two sisters, Faye Smith, of Branch, and Karen Cart, of Iota; one nephew, Tye Cart, of Iota; and maternal grandmother, Agnes Thevis, of Branch.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather,William Thevis, and paternal grandparents, Aaron "Buck" Hornsby, Sr. and Shirley Murphy Hornsby.
A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Arrangement were entrusted to Gossen Funeral Home Inc. of Rayne.

Johnnie Lou Martin
DENISON, TEXAS –– Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 10, 2003, in St. Patrick Catholic Church, with Father John Dick officiating, for Johnnie Lou Dupuis Martin, 51, of Denison, Texas , who died on Sunday, April 6, 2003.
A rosary was prayed Wednesday, April 9, 2003, in the funeral home chapel.
Burial was in the Fairview Cemetery.
She was born Dec. 12, 1951 in McAlester, Okla., to Altus and Juanita Edwards Mills.
She was an employee of Fisher Control of McKinney, Texas , and a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, E. B. Martin, Denison, Texas ; a stepmother, Helen Dacus, Humble, Texas ; a son, Sean Dupuis, Aurora, Colo.; a daughter, Tammy Dupuis, Denison, Texas ; a brother, Altus Mills and his wife, Connie, Savanna, Okla.; two sisters-in-law, Glenda Richard and Barbara Dupuis, both of Rayne; a cousin, Jan Trotter and her husband, L. B., of Denison; a sister, Lanell Hartline, Farmersville, Texas ; and a grandchild, Sabastian Dupuis; numerous nieces, nephews and other cousins; and a former husband and friend, Richard Dupuis, Aurora, Colo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Altus Mills and Juanita Mills Dacus; a stepfather, Roy Dacus; and a sister-in-law, Celina Normand.
Pallbearers included Kevin Richard, Chad Richard, Jarrod Fabry, Colby Cunningham, Tim Martin and Rick Martin.
Honorary pallbearers were Robert Mills, Paul Fabry and Don Armstrong.
Bratcher Funeral Home of Denison is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Elton Godeaux
CHURCH POINT –– Funeral services were held at 2 p.;m. Monday, April 7, 2003, in the Duhon Funeral Home chapel, with Father Nicki Trahan officiating, for Elton Godeaux, 88, of Church Point, who died Saturday, April 6, 2003, at 6:59 p.m. in the Acadia-St. Landry Guest Home.
A rosary was prayed at 7:30 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home chapel.
Burial was in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery on Highway 35 in Church Point.
He is survived by one son, Elton Godeaux, Jr., Pine Prairie; two sisters, Wilma Bergeron, China, Texas , and Ruby Courts, Lake Charles; three grandchildren; and a friend, Peggy Greenfield of Carencro.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lula Marie Prejean and Joseph Godeaux; three brothers, Elvin, Nolton and Hamilton Godeaux; and a sister, Odile Doucet.
Duhon Funeral Home of Church Point was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Alicia “Chun” Gautreaux
Funeral services were held at 12:30 p.m. Friday, April 23, 2004, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church for Alicia “Chun” Gautreaux, 86, who died April 21, 2004, at the Crowley American Legion Hospital.
Father Rusty Richard officiated at the services. A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Thursday at Geesey Ferguson Funeral Home.
interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery.
She is survived by two nephews, Andrew Gauthreaux and his wife Pat and Allen Gauthreaux, both of Crowley; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Meonce Gauthreaux “Edith” of Crowley; two great nephews, Brett Gauthreaux and his wife Kysha, and Kevin Gauthreaux, both of Crowley; and new great-great-nephews, Griffin Dorr, and Grant Gauthreaux, both of Crowley.
Ms. Gautreaux was preceded in death by her parnets, Benjamin and Josephine Menard Gauthreaux; one brother, Meonce Gauthreaux; and one siste,r Angelle Delhomme.
Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home of Crowley was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Donald R.Stutes, Sr.
Funeral services for Donald R. Stutes, Sr., 69, were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 24, 2004, at Saint Michael’s Catholic Church in Crowley. Mr. Stutes died at 12:10 p.m. Thursday, April 22, 2004, in Crowley’s American Legion Hospital. Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Crowley.
The Rosary was prayed at 6:30 p.m. Friday
Mr. Stutes was a retired State Trooper who served 20 years with the Louisiana State Police. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Mona Arceneaux Stutes of Crowley, one daughter, Ann Marie Stutes of Lake Charles; seven sons, Donnie Stutes and his wife, Sabrina, of Crowley, Carl Stutes of Crowley, Brian Stutes of Plaquemine, Kenneth Stutes of Jackson ville, Fla., Michael Stutes and his wife, Roberta of Maxie, Jeffrey Stutes and his wife, Gretchen of Scott, and Robert Stutes and his wife, Deborah of Morse, one sister, Rudell Voorhies of Crowley and fourteen grandchildren, Allison, Hannah., Carl, Natalie, Jason, Alyssa, Brennan, Michael, Emily, Vivian, Lauren, Christopher, Samuel, and Lilly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sweeney John and Lucille Broussard Stutes; one brother, Sweeney Stutes, Jr.; and one sister, Merline Letz.
Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home of Crowley is in charge of arrangements.

Lawrence ‘LJ’ Smith
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 1, 2004, in Starlight Baptist Church for Lawrence “LJ” Smith, 63, who died at 5:05 p.m. on Thursday, April 22, 2004, at his Rayne residence.
He leaves to cherish precious memories nine daughters, Carla and Tammy of Rayne, Stacey of Scott, Trina of Houston, Texas , Theresa, Kristen and Marissa of Galveston, Texas , Ave of Texas City, Texas , and Mary of Arlington, Texas ; four sons, Lawrence Jr. of Los Angeles, Calif., and Charles, Michael and Herrera, all of Galveston, Texas ; three brothers, Lake and Frank of Houston, Texas , and Carl of San Francisco, Calif.; 28 grandchildren, 66 great-grandchildren; and a host of nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Pearl Sinegal
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 1, 2004, at Mt. Clavary Baptist Church in Branch, with Pastor Craig Gregory officiating, for Pearl “Gertie”Sinegal, 64, of Rayne, who died April 26 in the Rayne Guest Home.
A wake will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the church Saturday.
Burial will be in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
She is survived by nine daughters, Rita Guidry, Barbara Rochen, Harriet Rogers, Dorothy Randall Angela Sinegal, Cheryl Harmon, Nakeycha Monroe and Lee Audry Sinegal, all of Rayne, and Kimberly Yokum, Colorado Springs, Colo.; three brothers, Charles Butler, Jr., Jeanerette, Osborne Butler, Sr., Rayne, and Lawrence Butler, Crowley; three sisters, Mary Guidry, Lois Richard and Clara Brazier, all of Rayne; 28 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Gilbert Credeur
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 17, 2004, in St. Theresa Catholic Church in Duson, with Father Leonards officiating, for Gilbert Credeur, 87, of Duson, who died at 6:50 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2004, in Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.
A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. Friday.
Burial was in the St. Theresa Mausoleum in Duson.
He is survived by his wife, Edmay Credeur, Duson; two sons and their wives, Wallace and Geraldine Credeur of Carencro, and Donald and Laura Credeur, Madisonville; one daughter and her husband, Sallie and Larry Thibodeaux, Duson; one sister, Eunice Trahan, Carencro; five half-brothers, Joseph Credeur, Beaumont, Texas , Bobby Credeur, Orange, Texas , Jerry Credeur, Crowley, Golden Credeur and Cleamillie Credeur, Jr., both of Rayne; two half-sisters, Joyce Stelly, Kaplan, and Marie Myers of Tennessee; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Barbara Jean Credeur; one grandchild, Donald Credeur, Jr.; his parents, Azelima Trahana and Cleamille Credeur, Sr.; and five brothers, Odele, Willie, Gilford, Sammy and Frank Credeur.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

John Harry Royer
Funeral services were held at a 1 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, April 21, 2004, at the St. Basil Church in Judice for John Harry Royer, 75, who died Monday, April 19, 2004, at Lafayette General Medical Center.
Rev. Henry J. Broussard, Pastor of St. Basil Church in Scott, was the celebrant of the Mass and conducted the funeral services.
The Rite of Committal took place at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Royer, the son of the late Cloupha Royer and the former Alesia Alleman, was a native of Branch and a resident of Duson. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the Korean Conflict. Mr. Royer was presently employed by Winn Dixie part-time. He also worked in the oilfield for over 30 years.
Survivors include his wife, Azelie Hollier Royer of Duson; two daughters, Roxanne Marie Royer and friend Victor K. Garcia of Duson, and Rachel Ann Broussard and fiancé’ Paul LeBlanc of Duson; two sons, John Karl Royer and wife Cathy Lemmons of Bridge City, Texas , and James Rickey Royer and wife Patsy Matte of Lawrenceville, Ga.; eleven grandchildren, Summer Royer, Dusty Royer, Chelse Royer, Chad Royer, Bridgett Royer, Dina Broussard, Desi Broussard, Demi Broussard, Davin Broussard, Mandi Lemmons, and Tresia Lemmons; and two sisters, Alice Granger of Scott, and Lenora Wingatte of Rayne.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Pete Wedis Royer, Clifton Royer, Uday Royer; and three sisters, Eva Bouillion, Purnice Thibodeaux, and Eula Royer.
The family was present to receive friends for a recital of the Rosary at 7 p.m.
Pallbearers were John Karl Royer, James Rickey Royer, Dusty Royer, Rickey Chad Royer, Dennis Peterson, Galyn Hubbard, Sr., John W. Hollier, and Ronnie Granger.
Honorary pallbearers were Davin Broussard, Ralph Hogan, and Keith Broussard.
Delhomme Funeral Home, 705 Marie Street, Scott, was in charge of all funeral arrangements.

Lincoln Lee ‘Hicks’ Wilridge
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 17, 2004, in Starlight Baptist Church, with the Rev. Mack E. Crayton officiating, for Lincoln Lee “Hicks”Wilridge, 62, of Rayne, who died at 1:04 a.m. April 13, 2004, in Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.
A wake service was held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the church.
Burial was in the Rayne Protestant Cemetery.
Wilridge was retired after 35 years in construction.
He is survived by one son, Kenneth Mouton, Rayne; four dauighters, Marilyn Mayfield, Carolyn Mayfield, Connie Cook, and Shantel Smith, all of Rayne; two sisters, Louise Dugas, Rayne, and Glenda Faye Holdman, Houston, Texas ; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Final arrangements were entrusted to Frank Brothers Funeral Home of Eunice.
