CHURCH POINT –– Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2002, in the Duhon Funeral Home chapel here, with Brother Keith Gallow officiating, for Earline LeJeune, 85, of Church Point, who died at 10:52 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 11, 2002, in the Acadia-St. Landry Hospital.
Burial was in the St. Edwards Cemetery in Richard.
She is survived by six daughters, Norma Jean Carriere, Glenda Savoy and Linda Savoy, all of Lawtell, Theresa Thibodeaux, Crowley, Lucille LeJeune, Rayne, and Tina Nelson, St. Martinville; two sons, Kermit LeJeune, Duson, and Ricky LeJeune, Rayne; one sister, Joyce Howe, Richard; two brothers, Vince LeJeune and Lorenza LeJeune, Jr., both of Richard; 21 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Essie LeJeune; her parents, Lorenza LeJeune, Sr., and Amanda LeJeune; three brothers, Kermit, Aaron, and Irby LeJeune, and one sister, Amanda Janis.
Duhon Funeral Home of Church Point is in charge of arrangements.

Alice Stutes Bearb
Funeral services were held at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 5, 2002, at a Mass of a Christian Burial in Gossen Funeral Home Chapel for Alice Stutes Bearb, 93, who died at 3:15 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2, 2002, at Evangeline Oaks Nursing Home in Carencro.
interment was in St. Joseph Cemetery #1 in Rayne.
The Rev. Bill Ruskoski pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church was the celebrant of the funeral Mass and conducted the services.
Survivors include one daughter, Una Bearb Sanz, of Mexico City, Mexico; five sons, Tracy J. Bearb and wife Melva, of Church Point, Bobby Bearb, of Beaumont, Texas , Donald R. Bearb and wife Jan of Lafayette, Jimmy Bearb and wife Frances, of Carencro, and William "Billy" Bearb and wife Cindy of Carencro; 15 Grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren; a host of nephews and nieces; and one sister, Aline Stutes Comeaux of Rayne.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Calise Bearb; parents, Aladin Stutes and Leah Leger Stutes; one sister, Corrine Stutes; four brothers, Clarence Stutes, Ernest Stutes, Dallas Stutes, and Jesse Stutes.
A resident of Lafayette for many years and a native of Rayne " Miss Alice" as she was affectionately known to all of her friends and customers, operated a small grocery store in Rayne and on Pine Street in North Lafayette for 25 years until her retirement in 1971.
A rosary was prayed at 7:30 p.m. Sunday in Gossen Funeral Home.
Arrangements were entrusted to Gossen Funeral Home Inc.

Daisy F. Latour
Daisy Foreman Latour, 89, was born February 18, 1913, died August 3, 2002, at 7:00 p.m. at the South West Medical Center in Lafayette, Mrs. Latour was the former Daisy Foreman. She was from the Judice Community.
She was Known as “Aunt Daisy” as well as liked by all. She was an excellent cook and Host.
Mrs. Latour had a real strong belief in the bible and as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses she taught this to many people as well as lived by these teachings for over 50 years.
She is survived by one niece, Willa Mar Duhon Marietta of Ridge Community; two great nieces Mrs. John “Geneva” Ellis of Orange Texas , and Mrs. Calvin “ Betty “ Robinson of the Ridge Community; one great nephew Larry Marietta and his wife Sandra Dale of Crowley.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years John Louis “J.L.” Latour of Carencro, her parents Alton and Anita Breaux Foreman; two sisters Corinne Foreman Duhon, and Mable foreman Foreman Boudreaux; one brother Clyde Foreman.
The family would like to thank her many physicians who cared for her, but special thanks to Dr. Chu for her understanding and compassion and excellent care.
Memorial services will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Lafayette West Congregation, 2203 Fieldspan, Friday, August 9, 2002, at 2;00 p.m. call 873-3720 if more information is needed.

Beulah Lavergne Daigle
Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 5, 2002, at 1 p.m. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel, with Father Bill Ruskoski officiating, for Beulah Lavergne Daigle, 84, of Rayne, who died Friday, Aug. 2, 2002, at 10:50 p.m. in the Rayne Guest Home.
A rosary was prayed Sunday at 6:30 p.m.
Burial was in the new St. Joseph Cemetery here.
She is survived by her daughter, Toni Foreman of Rayne; and her son, L.J. Menard of Lafayette; her step-children, Gertha LeBlanc of Lake Charles, Annie Alleman, Linton Daigle, Leroy Daigle, Elvis Daigle and Vernal Daigle, all of Rayne; two sisters, Almoza Meche of Rayne, and Birdie Dugas of Duson; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lovin Menard; her second husband, Henry Daigle; one daughter, Dorothy Domingue; two stepsons, Curtis Daigle and John (King) Daigle; her parents, Albert and Clarice Royer Lavergne; three brothers, Adam Lavergne, Isaac Lavergne, and Dominick Lavergne; and two sisters, Louise Breaux and Eva Guidry.
Ms. Daigle also raised numerous foster children.
Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Verda Mae David
CHURCH POINT –– Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug., 3, 2002, in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church here, with Father Nicky Trahan officiating, for Verda Mae David, 77, of Church Point, who died at 10:16 a.m. Friday, Aug. 2, 2002, in Doctors Hospital in Opelousas.
A rosary was recited Friday at 7:30 p.m.
Burial was in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Mausoleum in Church Point.
She was survived by a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ms. David was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie and Marie Savoy; and her husband, Hollard J. David.
Duhon Funeral Home of Church Point was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Wilma Mae Richard
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 5, 2002, at a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Catholic Church for Wilma Mae Richard, 76, who died at 11:45 a.m. Friday, Aug. 2, 2002, at her residence in Gonzales
The Rev. Bill Ruskoski, pastor of St. Joseph Church, was the celebrant of the funeral Mass and conducted the services.
interment was in St. Joseph Cemetery #2, Mausoleum.
Survivors include four nieces, Judy Norris of Gonzales, Jackie Meche of Rayne, Jennifer Guidry of Rayne, Gayle Leblanc of Rayne; and one nephew, Robert Richard of Youngsville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Jules Richard and Augustine Courville; one brother, Dalton Richard; and one sister, Irene Boudreaux.
Miss. Richard retired as a telephone operator with 35 years, She lived in Baton Rouge for the past 12 years.
A rosary was prayed at 8 p.m. Sunday in Gossen Funeral Home.
Arrangements were entrusted to Gossen Funeral Home Inc.of Rayne.

Stanley Richard
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2003, in St. Joseph Catholic Church here, with Thomas Vu officiating, for Stanley Richard, 60, of Rayne, who died on Sunday, Aug. 31, 2003, at 6:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy Richard, Rayne; one sister, Rose Lejeune, Rayne; two brothers, Roger Richard, of Scott, and Leroy Richard of Mims, Fla.; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Richard was preceded in death by his son, Terry Richard; and his parents, Beulah Villijoin and Alphie Richard.
Pallbearers were Bradley Semar, Mitchell Stafford, John Bourque, Shannon Trahan, Daniel Stafford, Thomas Richard, Kevin Menard, and Elridge Menard.
Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne was in charge of arrangements.

Valerie (Chin) Hayes, Sr.
CROWLEY ––Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 30, 2003, at 12 noon in Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, with Father Rusty Richard officiating, for Valerie (Chin)Hayes, Sr., 86, of Crowley, who died at 3:43 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2003, in Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Friday.
Burial was in the Hanks Cemetery in Morse.
He is survived by his wife, Ida David Hayes, Crowley; five sons, Herbert and Lenora Hayes, Sr., Lake Arthur, Hubert and Betty Hayes, Valerie and Amelia Hayes, Jr., Tommy Hayes, and Jeffery Hayes, all of Crowley; one stepson, Bobby Joe and Millie Watson, Gueydan; six daughters Helen Hayes, Lafayette, Janice H. Sensat, New Orleans, Becky H. and Dwayne Breaux, Rayne, Brenda Hayes, Cathy H. and Earl Trahan, and Kimberly Hayes, all of Crowley; 34 grandchildren; one step-grandchild; 40 great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren; one nephew, Willie Hayes, Sr. and one niece, Alberta Hayes.
Mr. Hayes was preceded in death by one son, Gregory Hayes; two grandsons, Huey Hayes and Justin Simon; one great-grandson, Nicholas Hayes; his parents, Mr. and Mrs.Arthur Hayes, Sr. ; and two brothers, Arthur Hayes, Jr., and Willie Hayes.
Mr. Hayes was a retired building contractor who was in business for over 30 years.
Duhon Funeral Home of Crowley was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Shannon Cole Curtis Kibodeaux
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., August 28, 2003, Thursday, in Gossen Funeral Home Chapel for Shannon Cole Curtis Kibodeaux, 6 months, who died August 24, 2003 at his residence.
interment was in St. Joseph #2 Cemetery in Babyland.
Survivors include his parents, Amy Cole Kibodeaux and Shannon Kibodeaux, of Rayne; one brother, Peyton Kibodeaux, of Rayne; one sister, Sydni Kibodeaux, of Rayne; maternal grandmother, Sonja G. Cole, of Butte Larose; paternal grandparents, Kathy Richard, of Rayne, Sidney Kibodeaux, of Rayne; great-paternal grandmother, Vercy Lee Richard, of Rayne; paternal great-grandparents, Lois and Wilford Kibodeaux, of Rayne; godparents, Sherrie Breaux, of Lafayette, Micha Wingate, of Rayne.
He was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Charles H. Cole; paternal great-grandfather, Leroy Richard; uncle, Curtis Marcantel, and a cousin, Parker Brooke Daigle.
Pallbearers were his father, Shannon Kibodeaux, and godfather, Micha Wingate.
Arrangments were entrusted to Gossen Funeral Home Inc., of Rayne.
