Mary Octavia Landry
CHURCH POINT –– Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 19, 2004, in Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church, with Father Francis Butler officiating, for Mary Octavia Landry, 57, of Church Point, who died on Dec. 8, 2004.
Burial was in the new Our Mother of Mercy Cemetery in Church Point.
She is survived by one son and his spouse, Joseph and Jamie Landry, Church Point; two daughters, Shelia Landry and Mary Marie Landry, both of Church Point; and four grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her infant son, and by her parents, Nancy Davis and Natciece Joe Etienne.
Duhon Funeral Home of Church Point was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Gertha Daigle LeBlanc
LAKE CHARLES –– Gertha Daigle LeBlanc , 85, died Sunday, Dec. 12, 2004.
A native of Church Point, she had lived in Lake Charles for 64 years, She was a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church.
She is survived by four brothers, Leroy Daigle, Vernel Daigle, Lenton Daigle and Alvis Daigle, all of Rayne; a sister, Anna Mae Alleman, of Rayne; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in deatn by her husband, Estan LeBlanc ; a son, Gerald LeBlanc ; a daughter Jennette Qquain, and two brother, Curtis Daigle and L.J. (King) Daigle.
Her funeral was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2004, at Our Lady Queen of Heave Catholic Church. Monsignor Ronald Gorth officiated.
Burial was in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Hixon Funeral Home of Lake Charles.
A rosary was prayed at 5:30 p.m. Monday.

William “Raymond” Habetz
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 6, 2004, at a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Leo’s Catholic Church for William “Raymond” Habetz, 91, who died Saturday, December 4, 2004 in Crowley American Legion Hospital.
interment was in St. Leo Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Adeline Cramer Habetz, of Roberts Cove; one daughter, May Rose Habetz Bourgeois, of Roberts Cove; one brother, Wenzel Habetz, of Rayne; two sisters, Annie Habetz, of Rayne, Helen Habetz, of Rayne; one grandchild, one great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph August Habetz and Martha Ohlenforst; four brothers, L. August Habetz, John Habetz, Andrew Habetz, Ben Habetz; three sisters, Rita Habetz, Gertrude Habetz, Marie Foythlin.
A rosary was recited at 7:00 p.m. Sunday.
The family requested that the visiting hours be observed from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Sunday and 8:00 a.m. until time of service Monday.
Arrangements were entrusted to Gossen Funeral Home Inc. of Rayne.

Palmyra “Polly” Guidry Gilbert
Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 6, 2004, in Gossen Funeral Home Chapel for Palmyra “Polly” Guidry Gilbert, 99, who died Saturday, December 4, 2004, in Crowley American Legion Hospital.
interment was in St. Peter’s Cemetery in Carencro.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Francis “Buddy” Gilbert and wife Elaine, of Branch; one grandson, Wyatt Gilbert and wife Diane, of Branch; two great grandchildren, Ashley Moore, Brandon Gilbert; two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson L. Gilbert; parents, Gaston Guidry and Mathilde Guilbeau Guidry; one brother, four sisters.
The family requested that the visiting hours be observed from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday and from 8:00 a.m. until time of services Monday.
Arrangements were entrusted to Gossen Funeral Home Inc. of Rayne.

Della Alleman Soileaux
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, November 26, 2004, at a Mass of Christian Burial in Gossen Funeral Home Chapel for Della Alleman Soileaux, 91, who died Monday, November 22, 2004, in Rayne Guest Home.
Entombment was in St. Joseph Cemetery #2 Mausoluem.
Survivors include one daughter and her husband, Berneda Soileaux Comeaux and husband L.J. of Lake Charles; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Murphy Soileaux; one son, Delton Soileaux; one grandson, Douglas Comeaux, one great granddaughter, Angel Credeur; parents Felix and Teozia Alleman; five sisters, and three brothers.
Mrs. Soileaux was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Rayne Guest Home and Crowley American Legion Hospital for the care they gave to Mrs. Della Soileaux.
A rosary was recited at 10 a.m. Friday.
The family requested that the visiting hours be observed from 9 a.m. until service time Friday.
Arrangements were entrusted to Gossen Funeral Home Inc. of Rayne.

Merton J. Leger
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday November 27, 2004, at, 10:00 a.m.. at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Merton J. Leger, 79, who died at his residence in Rayne on Thursday, November 25, 2004.
The Rev. Bill Ruskoski, pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church, officiated at the services.
Readers were Jackie Ledford, and Abbie Baronet; Altar server was Courtny Roy; and gift bearers were Andrew Lyons, Brittany Leger, and Sherry Handley.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Ethel Leon Leger of Rayne; his children, Ruth Leger, Cecile Leger, and Mark Leger, all of Rayne, Faye and her husband Duane Ledford of Crowley, Myra and her husband Joe Lyons of Bogalusa, Joey and his wife Susan Leger of Jennings, and Sheila and her husband Lee Schexnaider of Abbeville; his eight grandchildren, Beth Schefcik, Jackie Ledford, Duane Ledford Jr., Abbie Barnoet, Andrew Lyons, Brittany Leger, Victoria Leger, and Courtney Roy; two great-grandchildren, Brantley and Gavin Schefcif; one sister Gert Heinen; and one brother, Avery Leger, both of Rayne.
Mr. Leger was preceded in death by one daughter, Claire Louise Leger; his parents Leza and Leonia Constantin Leger; seven brothers Elie, Clifton, Oris, Dudley, Bobbie, and Harry Leger; and three sisters, Amy Braquet, Iris Tompkins, and Racie Darcy.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and a veteran of World War II, Private first class Battery A, 324TH field Artillery Battalion, and a member of the American Legion Arceneaux Post 77 of Rayne.
He was retired from the Southwest Louisiana State School in Iota.
Pallbearers were Daune Ledford Sr., Duane Ledford Jr., Joe Lyons, Lee Schexnaider, Billy Heinen, and Barry Leon.
Visitation was Friday November, 26, 2004, from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., with a rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday November 27, 2004 from 8:00 a.m. until services.
In lieu of flowers the family wishes memorial donations be made to Hospice of Acadiana, 2600 Johnston St. Lafayette La. 70503
Burial was in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Gossen Funeral home of Rayne.

Joyce Delhomme Esmail
CROWLEY –– Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 28, 2004, in the Parkerson Baptist Church, with Brother L.C. Lord and Brother Chris Campo officiating for Joyce Delhomme Esmail, 75 of Crowley, who died at 12:35 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, 2004, in American Legion Hospital in Crowley.
She is survived by her husband, Jamil Esmail, Crowley, one sister, Marjorie D. Comeaux, Jennings.
Mrs. Esmail worked for 19 years as a cashier for the newsstand in Crowley.
She was a loving and giving person, always giving and helping people. She was a member of Parkerson Baptist Church in Crowley for at least 20 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Antoinette Fortunda and Jules Delhomme; and three brothers, Calise, Vernon Lee, and Hubert Delhomme.
Duhon Funeral Home of Crowley was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Loretta Frances Bott
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 30, 2004, at a Mass of Christian burial in St. Joseph Catholic Church for Loretta Frances Bott, 80, who died November 29, 2004, in American Legion Hospital.
interment was in St. Joseph Cemetery #2.
Survivors include three daughters, Patricia Meaux and husband Glen, of Rayne, Mary Rougeau, of Cameron, Dolores Menard and husband Butch, of Crowley; seven sons, Richard Bott, of Rayne, Francis Bott and wife Rose Mary, of Hardin, Texas , James Bott and wife Brenda, of Cameron, Paul Bott and wife Eva, of Rayne, Ronald Bott and wife Gail, of Duson, David Bott and wife Betty, of Rayne, Timothy Bott, of Rayne; five step-children, Milton Bott, of Crowley, Eva Mae Deville, of Port Barre, Laura Dell Baudoin, of Lake Arthur, Beatricia Sonnier, of Crowley, Betty Lou Romero, of Crowley; one brother, Charles Farrell, of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania ; 30 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, three step-great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Bott; one daughter, Barbara Ann Bott; parents, William Farrell and Anne Horan Farrell; one sister, Helen Fersch; and one step-son, Leslie Bott.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Monday.
The family requested that the visiting hours be observed from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. Monday and from 8 a.m. until time of service Tuesday.
Arrangements were entrusted to Gossen Funeral Home Inc. of Rayne.

Melissa Ann Breaux
Funeral services held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 1, 2004, at a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Catholic Church for Melissa Ann Breaux, 40, who died Sunday, November 28, 2004 at her residence.
interment was in Indian Bayou Methodist Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, Gilford Breaux, Jr., of Rayne; one daughter, Megan Breaux, of Rayne; two sons, Jordan Breaux, of Rayne, Zachary Breaux, of Rayne; mother, Virgie Richard, of Rayne; one sister, Karen Meche, of Rayne; five brothers, Ronald Richard, of Rayne, Errol Richard, of Rayne, Ricky Richard, of Alvin, Texas , Bryan Richard, of Rayne, Bob Broussard, of Rayne.
She was preceded in death by her father, Errol Richard, and father-in-law, Gilford Breaux, Sr..
A rosary was recited at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday.
The family requested that the visiting hours be observed from 11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. Tuesday, 8:00 a.m. until service time Wednesday.
Arrangements were entrusted to Gossen Funeral Home Inc. of Rayne.
