Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 2, 2004, at a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Catholic Church for James Burton Carriere, 59, who died November 29, 2004 in Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.
interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery #2.
Survivors include wife, Kay Carriere, of Lafayette; one daughter, Kim Menard and husband Neil, of Lafayette; two sons, Chad Carriere, of Lafayette, Scott Carriere, of Rayne; two grandchildren, Chelsea Carriere, Claire Carriere mother, Cedia Carriere, of Rayne; two brothers, Darrell Carriere, of Lake Charles, Kerney Carriere and wife Vicky, of Lafayette; one sister, Shirley Simon and husband Dudley, of Rayne.
He was preceded in death by his father, Cleve Carriere.
A rosary was recited at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday.
The family requested that the visiting hours be observed from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. Wednesday and from 8:00 a.m. until service time Thursday.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Gossen Funeral Home Inc. of Rayne.

Patricia Marie Cramer
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Dec. 2, 2004, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Leo Catholic Church in Roberts Cove for Patricia Marie Cramer, 57, who died Tuesday. November 30, 2004, at her residence.
Father Francis Bourgeois and Father Thomas Habetz will officiate for the services. Burial will be in St. Leo Cemetery, Roberts Cove.
The family request visiting hours be observed Wednesday from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Thursday from 8 :00 a.m. to service time. A rosary was recited Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Survivors include her mother, Felicitas H. Cramer of Roberts Cove; two sisters, Anna Margaret C. Zaunbrecher and Carolyn Cramer, both of Roberts Cove: three nieces, Trudy Z, Gary of Roberts Cove. Allison Cramer of New Orleans and Lyndsey Cramer of Lafayette; three nephews, Brian Zaunbrecher of Roberts Cove, Darryl Zaunhrecher of Roberts Cove and John Cramer of Lafayette; two great-nieces, Brianne and Kennedy Gary both of Roberts Cove; one sister-in-law, Kathy G. Breaux of Lafayette.
Miss Cramer was preceded in death by her father, John H. Cramer; one brother, Nate Cramer and one brother-in-law, Billy Zaunbrecher.
Miss Cramer was a devoted teacher at St. Michael Elementary School for thirty-six years, a member of St. Leo Ladies Altar Society and Roberts Cove Germanfest.
Pallbearers will be Brian Zaunbrecher, Darryl Zaunhrecher, John Cramer, Bryan Gary, Leonard Habetz and Charles Habetz.
The family request memorial contributions to the Fr. Seelos Center, 2030 Constance St., New Orleans, LA 70130 or St. Michael Elementary School.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home, 301 North Ave. F, Crowley.

Rosa Mae Trahan Spell
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2004, in St. Theresa Catholic Church in Duson, with Father Leonard officiating, for Rosa Mae Trahan Spell, 57, of Duson.
Mrs. Spell died Monday, Nov. 22, 2004, at 8:55 p.m. in her residence.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel.
Burial was in the the St. Theresa Cemetery in Duson.
She is survived by her husband, Wain Spell, Duson; three daughters, Tina Lavergne and Beverly Spell, both of Duson, and Barbara Spell, Eunice; six brothers, Wilton Trahan, Dalton Trahan, Wallace Trahan, Rodney Trahan, and Paul Trahan, all of Duson, and Carol Trahan, Carencro; two sisters, Delta Thibodeaux, Duson, and Linda Credeur, Carencro; and seven grandchildren, Jona Lavergne, Joshua Cormier, Blaze Cormier, Dylan Holzli, Chasity Lavergne, Emily Cormier, and Kaylan Holzli.
She was preceded in death by one son, John Wayne Spell; her parents, Ethel Ablarado and Edney Trahan.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be sadly missed.
Pallbearers were Jeffery Credeur, Carol Trahan, Darren Schexnayder, Sr., David Broussard II, Paul Trahan and Jobn Breaux.
Honorary pallbearers were Curt Shane Lebouef, and D.J. Schexnayder.
Special thanks to Hospice of Acadiana.
Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Margaret F. Thibodeaux
Funeral services were held Thursday, December 22, 2005, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Margaret Fontenot Thibodeaux, 87, who died December 20, 2005, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette.
Survivors include one son, Glenn Thibodeaux of Lake Charles; one daughter, Sandra Patin of New Orleans; one sister, Rita Gray of Alexandria Virginia ; six grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Thibodeaux was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Ford Thibodeaux; and her parents, Olide and Emma Bellard Thibodeaux.
Visitation was Wednesday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm with a rosary recited at 7:00 pm and Thursday from 8:00 am until services.
Burial was in the Our Lady of Sacred Heart Cemetery in Church Point under the direction of Gossen Funeral Home of Rayne

Bernice B. Credeur
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, December 23, 2005, at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Duson for Bernice Breaux Credeur, 91, who died Wednesday, December 21, 2005, at the American Legion Hospital in Crowley.
Survivors include one daughter, Barbara and her husband William Gresham of Flomaton Alabama; one granddaughter, Jennifer and her husband Bobby Thompson Sr.; one grandson, Dwayne Gresham; two great-grandchildren Bobby Allen Thompson, Jr., and Jessica Lyne Thompson; a half-brother, Essie Breaux of Judice; a half-sister, Hassell Simoneaux of Lafayette; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Credeur; one grandson, her parents Thelesmar and Anita Bourque Breaux; her siblings, Ulyesse, Alton, Lewis, Louis, Eunice, Enise, Luke, Wilbert, Curtis, James, and Eugene Breaux.
Visitation was in the St. Theresa Church Hall in Duson starting Thursday at 2:30 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and Friday from 8:00 a.m. until services.
Burial was in the St. Theresa Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Gossen Funeral Home of Rayne.

Lee “L.B.” Melancon
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, Dec. 22, 2005, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Crowley for Lee Bernice “L. B.” Melancon, 79, who died Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2005, at 3:00 p.m. at American Legion Hospital in Crowley.
Father Gary Schexnayder, pastor of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, officiated.
Burial was in Woodlawn Mausoleum.
The family requested visiting hours be observed Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to service time. A rosary was recited at 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Survivors include five daughters, Deani Melancon of Butte LaRose, Becky Lormand and her husband Greg of Crowley, Annette Hollier and her husband Greg of Crowley, Shelly Miller of Denham Springs and Renee Breaux of Denham Springs; one son, Brian Melancon and his wife Carol of Atlanta, Ga.; four brothers, Charles “Buster” Melancon, Cornelius “Connie” Melancon, Andrew Melancon and Bobby Melancon; one sister, Anna Mae Thibodeaux; nine grandchildren, Dawn, Van, Andree, Taylor , Jordan, Chase, Haley, Graycie and Drew; and one great-grandchild, Jacob.
Mr. Melancon was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Gaspard Melancon; five sisters, Ethel Melancon, Leora Amlang, Mary Sensat, Viola Mire and Lillian Perrodin; two brothers, Mose Melancon, A. J. Melancon.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy having served his country during World War II.
Arrangements were been entrusted to Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home of Crowley.

Barbara Matthew Mire
Memorial services will be held at a later date for Barbara Matthews Mire, 67, of Scott, who died Friday, Dec. 23, 2005, at University Medical Center in Lafayette.
She is survived by her husband, James MIre, Scott; three daughters, Paula Sattler, Maria Mire and Jamie Doucet, all of Lafayette; one sister, Gayle Boudreaux, Lafayette; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Mire was preceded in death by one grandson, Tirney Blaine Mire; and her parents, Mr. Leo Matthews and Mrs. Lillie Mae Sensat Matthews.
Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne was in charge of arrangements.

Wesley Wade Fusilier
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 24, 2005, in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Bill Hudson officiating, for Wesley Wade Fusilier, 68, of Branch, who died at Thursday, Dec. 22, 2005, in the Acadia-St. Landry Hospital in Church Point.
Burial was in the Elizabeth Memorial Cemetery in Branch.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Fusilier, Branch; two daughters and their husbands, Jeanne and Carl Meaux, of Jennings, and Tavia Clair and Brad Richard, of Branch; two brothers, Bruton Marion Fusilier, and Dennis Dale Fusilier, both of Odessa, Texas , one sister, Linda Lee Young, Oxford, Miss.; and four grandchildren, Cameron Meaux, Jared Meaux, Wesley Richard and Warren Richard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Wilbur Fusilier and Ina Fusilier.
Mr. Wesley served in the U.S.Army as a paratrooper during two years and Lebanon.
Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Sybil D. Hardy
Memorial services will be held Thursday December 29, 2005, at 9:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, for Sybil D. Hardy 92, who died Sunday December 25, 2005, at the American Legion Hospital in Crowley.
Survivors include one son, Charles “Bob” and his wife Nell Hardy of Rayne, three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Mrs. Hardy was preceded in death by her husband Charles “Buck” Hardy; her parents Arthur P. and Jeanne Rome Dejean; one sister Nettie Holbrook; and one brother Raoul Dejean.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Gossen Funeral Home of Rayne.

Lewis Joseph Bertrand
Memorial services will be held at a later date for Lewis Joseph Bertrand, 74, of Crowley, who died Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2005, in his home there.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Eunice Bertrand of Crowley; two daughters, Joann Ludwig, Rayne, and Rebecca Penn Bertrand, Crowley; one sister, Ethel Bertrand, Estherwood; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Mr. Lewis was preceded in death by his parents, Mrs. Ones Bertrand and Mrs. Ada Thibodeaux Bertrand; five brothers, Minus, Hubert, Weston, J.C. and Robert Bertrand; and one sister, Hazel LeBlanc .
Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne was in charge of funeral arrangements.
