Irene Dupuis
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, 2005, in St. Joseph Church, with Father Buddy Breaux officiating, for Irene Dupuis, 80, of Rayne, who died at 12:40 a.m. Friday, Dec. 9, 2005, in Crowley’s American Legion Hospital.
Visitation was observed on Friday from 2 p.m. until time of services on Saturday.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Friday.
She is survived by three daughters, Verline Chapman, Ville Platte, and Verna Spell and Emma Lou Robinson, both of Rayne; one brother, Audrey Granger, Lafayette; 15 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Ms. Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Hector Dupuis; her parents, Mr. Colphe Granger and Mrs. Edmae Alleman Granger; one sister, Dorothy Trahan; and four brothers, Percy, Offord, Lortin and Wesley Granger.
Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Virginia Fremaux Soileau
Rayne - Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 5, 2005, at a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Catholic Church for Clara "Virginia" Fremaux Soileau, 86, who died Thursday, December 1, 2005, at 1:55 a.m. in Rayne Guest Home.
Entombment was in St. Joseph Cemetery #2 Mausoleum.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Blanche Vehlewald, of Loveland, Ohio, and Clara S. Acker, of Lewistown, Penn.; one son, Louis C. Soileau IV, of Plano, Texas ; five grandchildren; and two great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, L.C. Soileau III; parents, Paul Edward Fremaux and Mary Blanche Neely Fremaux; one brother, Charlie Fremaux; and one sister, Rose Mary Schlicher.
A rosary was recited at 7:00 p.m. Sunday.
The family requested that the visiting hours be Sunday from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Monday from 9:00 a.m. until service time.
Arrangements were entrusted to Gossen Funeral Home Inc. of Rayne.

Charles LeBlanc
Funeral services were held Saturday, December 3, 2005, in Our Mother of Mercy Shrine, with Father Richard Wagner officiating, for Charles “Pop Charlie” LeBlanc , 89, of Rayne.
Burial was in Our Mother of Mercy Cemetery.
Mr. LeBlanc died at 11:56 a.m. on Saturday, November 26, 2005, in the Heart Hospital of Lafayette. He was a retired rice company worker.
A wake service was held Saturday, December 3, in the church from 8 to 10:30 a.m., with a rosary prayed at 9:30 a.m.
He is survived by two sons, Harold J. LeBlanc of Rayne, and Charle Ray LeBlanc of Houston, Texas ; three daughters, Eva G. LeBlanc and Claudette L. Johnson , both of Rayne, and Mona Anderson, Houston, Texas ; three brohters, Lucas LeBlanc and Octave LeBlanc , both of New Orleans, and Peter Mitchell, Port Arthur, Texas ; two sisters, Grace McNeil and Delia Gilliam, both of Port Arthur, Texas ; 12 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
Final arrangements were entrusted to Frank Brothers Funeral Home of Eunice.

Jimmie Gardner
Jimmie Gardner was born June 22, 1923, in New Orleans, LA. And he went to be with his Lord and Savior December 5, 2005.
He had been a resident of Baytown, Texas , for 40 years. He worked for Iron Workers Local 84 for over 25 years. Jimmie was a local musician and could play all instruments but he enjoyed the guitar most of all. He had played with Hank Williams Sr. at one time. He was a member of the Catholic faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Lula Mae Gardner; parents: Jimmie and Laura Gardner; brother: Jimmie Vilas Steen.
He is survived by his four sons,: James J. Gardner of Baytown, Texas , Bobby Gardner of Clifton, Texas , Donnie Gardner of Baytown, Texas and George Gardner of Baytown, Texas ; three daughters, Sandra Benson of San Antonio, Texas , Cheryl Parker of Manvel, Texas and Bonnie Hill of Baytown, Texas ; three sisters, Evelyn Gould Nettie Campbell and Bobbie Gray, all of Baytown, Texas ; 14 grandchildren and 19 great-children; numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Doctor Nazari and his staff and Odyssey Hospice.
For those desiring memorials may be given to American Cancer Society or flowers may be sent to Gossen Funeral Home.
The family received friends 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, December 6, 2005, at Earthman Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, December 8, 2005, at Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne, with visitation from 9 a.m. until time of services.
interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery #2 in Rayne.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Arrangements were under the direction of Earthman Funeral Directors of Baytown, Texas .

Larry Paul Guidry, Sr.
JENNINGS ––– Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2003, in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley, with Father Joseph Greenwell officiating, for Larry Paul Guidry, Sr., 74, of Jennings, who died Sunday , Dec. 29, 2002, at 6:30 a.m. in his residence in Evangeline.
A rosary was recited Monday at 7 p.m.
Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery in Crowley.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby Guidry, Evangeline; two sons, Larry P. Guidry, Jr., Crowley, and Wayne M. Guidry, Evangeline; three daughters, Peggy Trahan, Crowley, Marilyn Prather, Branch, and Leslie Benoit, Jennings; one sister, Ethel Suire, Crowley; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Mr. Guidry served 24 years in the United States Air Force during World War II, Korean Conflict and Vietnam.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lessin and Elodie Fontenot.
Duhon Funeral Home ws in charge of arrangements.

Jerry Lee Primeaux
CROWLEY –– Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 30, 2002, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Crowley, with Father Joseph Greenwell officating, for Jerry Lee Primeaux, 55, of Crowley, who died at 10:16 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27, 2002, in the Crowley Guest Home.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Sunday.
Burial followed in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Crowley.
He is survived by his wife, Jane Miller Primeaux, Crowley; three sons, Kenneth Primeaux, Keith Primeaux and Patrick Lee Primeaux, all of Crowley; one daughter, Janell Davy, Crowley; six grandchildren; and two sisters, Geraldine Quebodeaux, Crowley, and Linda Smith, Missouri.
Mr. Primeaux was preceded in death by his parents, Lova and Olivia Primeaux; one brother, John Primeaux; one sister, Rita LaMaire; and two grandsons, Dustin and Justin Davy.
Duhon Funeral Home of Crowley was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Eva Wood Jolivette
Funeral services were held at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church Friday, Jan. 3, 2003, at 10:30 a.m. for Eva Woods Jolivette, 83, who died January 30, 2002, in Lafayette.
Burial was in the church cemetery.
She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Gossen Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Cody Brian Menard
MORSE –– Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, 2003, in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Rayne, with Father Bill Ruskoski officiating, for Cody Brian Menard, 28, of Morse, who died at 12:01 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2003, at University Medical Center Hospital in Lafayette.
Burial was in the Mire Cemetery in Kaplan.
He is survived by one daughter, Draven Menard, Maurice; a fiance, Virginia Dogay, Rayne; one brother, Sterling Menard, Abbeville; two sisters, Natalie Acord and her husband, Kenny, Erath, and Sheena Menard, Morse; and his grandmother, Alice Menard, Kaplan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Elizabeth Menard; a sister, Francesca Menard; maternal grandparents, Norris and Ida Roche; and paternal grandfather, Lionel Menard.
Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne was in charge of funeral arrangements.

C.J. Hundley
MOWATA –– Funeral services for C.J. Hundley, 80, of Mowata were held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 27, 2002, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Mowata. Mr. Hundley died at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2002, at a Crowley nursing home.
interment was in the St. Lawrence Cemetery Mausoleum.
Mr. Hundley was a retired rice farmer, having farmed in the Mowata community the majority of his life.
He served with the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a member and lifetime trustee of St. Lawrence Catholic Church and a member of the Parish Council, the Holy Name Society and the Perpetual Adoration Society. He also belonged to the Knights of Columbus Council in Eunice.
Mr. Hundley coached Little League baseball for many years and was the first Little League coach of Mowata baseball.
Mr. Hundley is survived by two daughters, Debra “Bedo” H. Stafford and her husband, Fred, of Lafayette, and Rosemary H. Minch and her husband, Randy, of Moline, Ill.; five sons, William Kelly Hundley, II, Nicholas William Hundley, Sr., and his wife, Clara, James Patrick Hundley, Sr., and his wife, Cathy, Michael Charles Hundley, Sr., and his wife, Katherine, all of Mowata, and Douglas Joseph Hundley and his wife, Kathy, of Lafayette; thirty grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Hensgens Hundley.
Pallbearers were his six grandsons, Nicholas Hundley, Jr., Kelly “Trey” Hundley, III, Stephen Hundley, Michael Charles Hundley, Jr., John Douglas Hundley and Erik Hundley.
Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home of Crowley was in charge of funeral arrangements.
