Early Joseph Hanks
CHURCH POINT — Funeral services for Early Joseph Hanks, 71, of Church Point, were held Wednesday, Dec. 4, in the chapel at Duhon Funeral Home with the Rev. Niki Trahan officiating. Burial was in Our Lady of Sacred Heart Mausoleum.
Mr. Hanks died Monday, Dec. 2, 2002, at 3:10 p.m. at his home.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Post 6720 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars conducted graveside services with full military honors.
Survivors include his wife, Freda Mae Hanks; a daughter and son-in-law, Charlene and Mike Latiolais of Church Point; three grandchildren, Stacy L. Briggs, Shannon Latiolais, and Chad Latiolais and his wife Ashley; six great-grandchildren, Bailey Briggs, Casey Briggs, Briley Briggs, Lane Latiolais, Alexis McBride and Shannon Latiolais Jr.; four brothers, Ellis Hanks of Jennings, Clarence Hanks of Carencro, Curley Hanks of Cankton, and Merlin Hanks of Bosco; a sister, Bernice Guidry of Church Point. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Azama Hanks; a brother, Lee Hanks; and a sister, Adolphina Menard.

Angela Denise Meche Fielder
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, March 4, 2004, at Mass of Christian Burial in St. Edmond Catholic Church for Angela Denise Meche Fielder, 38, who died March 2, 2003, at 12:30 p.m..
interment will be in St. Edmonds cemetery in Branch.
Survivors include her husband Thomas Warren Fielder, of Branch; one son, Chad Michael Fielder, of Branch; two daughters, Airelle Elizabeth Fielder, of Branch, Michala Elizabeth Fielder, of Branch; parents, James C. “June” Jr. and Gloria Kibodeaux Meche, of Branch; two brothers, Neal Meche, of Branch, Ned Meche, of Lawtell; and paternal grandmother, Lilly Meche, of Branch.
She was preceded in death by paternal grandfather, James Curtis Meche, Sr.; maternal grandparents, Bertile Lavergne Kibodeaux and Etienne Kibodeaux.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 3 p.m. until 10 p.m. Wednesday and from 8 a.m. until time of funeral service Thursday.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Gossen Funeral Home Inc. of Rayne.
Whitney J. Garrie
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, February 27, 2004, in ST. John the Baptist Church in Lyons Points, with Father Pousson officiating, for Whitney J. Garrie, 72, of Crowley, who died at 10:05 p.m. Tuesday, February 24, 2004, at his residence in Crowley.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Thursday.
Burial was in St. John the Baptist Cemetery
in Lyons Point.
He is survived by one son, Ronald Garrie, Rayne; two daughters, Patricia Thibodeaux, Rayne, and Tina Magnon, Crowley; two sisters, Eunice Leblanc, Lafayette, and Audrey Abshire, Lake Charles; one brother, Donald Garrie, Crowley; two stepsons, Floyd Mouton and Lloyd Mouton, both of Lyons Point; six grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Mr. Garrie was preceded in death by one stepson, Dudley Mouton; his parents, Joseph and Eudia Garrie; one brother, Willie Garrie; and three sisters, Wilma Verzina, Lucille Myers, and Winnie Monceaux.

Angella Constantin Trahan
Funeral services were held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, February 29, 2004, in St. Joseph Catholic Church for Angella Constantin, 101, who died Thursday, Feb. 26, 2004, in Crowley American Legion Hospital.

Survivors include one daughter, Betty Trahan Guidry, of Romona, Califorina; two sons, Boyce J. Trahan, Lafayette, and Nolbert L. Trahan, Linden, Michigan; eight grandchildren, three step-grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren, five step-great-grandchildren; one great-great- grandchild, one step-greatgreat grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Issach Trahan; one son, Ardner J. “Sonny” Trahan; parents, Jean Constantin and Carmelite Simon Constantin; two sister, Editha Foreman, Louise Gary; and two brothers, Lou Constantin, Martin Constantin.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Saturday.

Ada Richard Kibodeaux
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Friday, February 27, 2004, in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel, with Brother Carl Wheatley officiating, for Ada Richard Kobodeaux, 84, of Pineville, who died Wednesday, February 25, 2004, at 9:10 p.m. in the Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria.
Burial was in the South Crowley Cemetey.
She is survived by four daughters, Mary and Leeward Meche, Mire, Ada and Charles Martin, Melville, Rosa and Jerry Credeur, Taoga, and Laura and Odie Broussard, Crowley; one sister, Ida Richard, Crowley; 19 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
Ms. Kibodeaux was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Kibodeaux; her parents, Simon and Mary Richard; two sons, Flyod, Jr., and Arthur Lee Kibodeaux; one daughter, Ida Lee Kibodeuax; two sisters, Nola ABshire and Effie Navarre; seven brothers; one grandson, Douglas Wayne Martin; one granddaughter, Hillary Parsely and two great-grandsons, Glen Miller, Jr., and Waddy Allen Faul.

Allen Wayne Smith
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, February 27, 2004, in the Delhomme Funeral Home Chapel in Scott for Allen Wayne Smith, 41, who died Tuesday, February 24, 2004, at the Medical Center of the Southwest.
The Rev. Paul Bienvenue, pastor of St. Leo The Great Catholic Church, officiated.
The rite of committal took place at Sts. Peter &Paul Cemetery
in Scott.
Mr. Smith, the son of Harold Smith and the former Betty Boudreaux, was a native of Lafayette and a resident of Youngsville.
Survivors include his father, Harold Smith of Lafayette and his mother Betty Pryor of Scott; one sister, Monica Smith Boyer of Rayne; maternal grandparents, John and Eurella Boudreaux of Scott; and his beloved companion, Sherre Guilbreaux.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Edward and Alicia Smith; one uncle, Keric Boudreaux; cousin, Lex Trahan; and first wife, Antoinette Giddings Smith.
The family was present to receive friends for recital of the rosary at 7 p.m. Tnursday.
Pallbearers were Lance Menard, Edward Smith, Jr., Ricky Smith, Tommy Bates, Greg Menard, and Kelvin Boyer.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial donations be made to P.O. Box 1231, Scott, La. 70583.
Delhomme Funeral Home of Scott was in charge of all funeral arrangements.
Hazel Arsement
Funeral services were held Sunday, Feb. 29, 2004, at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Father Bill Ruskoski officiating, for Hazel Arsement, 83, of Kaplan, who died at 6:45 a.m. Friday, Feb. 27, 2004, in Kaplan Health Care in Kaplan.
A rosary was recited at 6 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel.
She is survived by one adopted daughter and her husband Angel Kibodeaux Hebert and Presley Hebert of Kaplan; one step-sister, Mrs. Vinton (Louise Arsement, Lafayette; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildrnen; nine great-grandchildren in the Acadiana area, seven grandchildren in the Acadiana area and one great-grandchild in Austin, Texas .
She was a native of Rayne and a resident of Kaplan for two years. She was a seamstress all her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Aresement; parents, Theresa Hoffpauir and Pascal Bordes; one brohter, Wilson Bordes; six sisters, Nedia Credeur, Mrs. August Leger, irene Terrro, Eula Boudreaux, Anna Mae Derouen, and Lucille Cormier; and two grandchildren, Rachel Grace and John David Hebert.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 1, 2004, at a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Catholic Church for Teresa Z. Bailey, 94 who died at her residence Friday, February 27, 2004, at 3:21 p.m.

Survivors include one daughter, Kathleen Burk, of Pensacola, Fla.; two sons, Karl Bailey, of Rayne, and David Bailey, of Natchitoches; three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; four sisters, Julia Zaunbrecher, of Rayne, Louise Carpenter, of Rayne, Eleanor Ousse, of Church Point, and Patricia Zaunbrecher, of Rayne; three brothers, Karl Zaunbrecher, Jr., of Rayne, Bernard Zaunbrecher, of Rayne, and Thomas Zaunbrecher, of Rayne.
She was preceded in death by her husband, B. Hillman Bailey, Jr.; parents, Karl Zaunbrecher and Helena Frey Zaunbrecher; one sister, Stephanie Zaunbrecher; and two brothers, John Zaunbercher, Hubert Zaunbrecher.
A rosary was recited at 5 p.m. Sunday.

Paul David Lejeune
CROWLEY –– A memorial service was held at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 27, 2004, in the Ebenezer Church of The Nazarene, with the pastor officiating, for Paul David Lejeune, 61, of Crowley, who died at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2004, in Crowley’s American Legion Hospital.
He is survived by one sister, Elizabeth Bertrand of Crowley; and three brothers, Joseph W. Lejeune, Rayne, Hubert Lejeune, Doublin, Texas , and Edward Lejeune, Clarksville, Texas .
Mr. Lejeune was preceded in death by his parents, Wilson and Alice Lejuene, and two brothers, Addley and Johnson Lejeune.
