Mary Alice Credeur
Funeral services for baby Mary Alice Credeur were held on Thursday, February 5, 2004, at 6 p.m. at Vincent Funeral Home with Deacon Chris Mouton officiating.
Burial was in St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery.
Mary Alice died on Thursday, Feb. 5, at Women’s and Children’s Hospital.
Survivors include her parents, Gerard and Jennifer Breaux Credeur, Jr. of Abbeville; paternal grandparents, Roy and Linda Credeur, Sr. of Rayne; maternal grandmother, Nancy Breaux of Albbeville; godmother, Dommie Credeur of Rayne, and an uncle, Ben Credeur, also of Rayne..
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Joseph Breaux.
Visitation was from 3 p.m. Thursday until time of service.
Vincent Funeral Home of Abbeville was in charge of arrangements.

Nelson Johnson
Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 9, 2004, at 2 p.m. in Assumption Catholic Church in Mire, with Msgr. Russell Harrington officiating, for Nelson Johnson , 34, of Rayne, who died suddenly Friday, Feb. 6, 2004, in Scott.
A rosary was recited at 6 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home chapel.
He is survived by two sons, Slade Francis Johnson , ChurchPoint, and Brennan Grey Johnson , Lafayette; his mother, Patsy Johnson , Rayne; and three sisters, Samantha Ann Leger, Sulphur, Cherie Marie Johnson , Hammond, and Stephanie Anita Savoy, Rayne.
He was preceded in death by his father, Mike Nelson Johnson .
Nelson attended the Singapore American School., when the family lived overseas until 1986 when they moved back to the States and he attended Church Point High School.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that monetary donations be made.
Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Charles Joseph Girard, Sr.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, February 9, 2004, at St. Edmond Catholic Church in Branch for Charles Joseph Girard Sr., 69, who died at his residence in Branch Friday, February 6, 2004.
Survivors include his wife Barbara Alleman Girard of Branch; five daughters and their husbands Patsy and Larry Clark of Duson, Susan and Jimmy Menard of Rayne, Jackie and Richard Vincent of Ridge, Vicky and Tyson Breaux of Lafayette, and Birdie Girard of Mire; two sons, Victor Broussard of Duson, and Steven Girard of Carencro; 23 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren; three brothers Paul Girard of Lafayette, Steve Girard of Carencro, and Clement Girard of Florida.
Mr. Girard was preceded in death by his parents, Clemar and Carmelite Louviere Girard; one son Charles Girard Jr.; and two sisters, Mary Romero, and Audrey Girard.
A rosary was recited Sunday evening at 7 p.m.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Cain and the staff of Hospice of Acadiana.
Burial was in the St. Edmond Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Gossen Funeral Home of Rayne.

Joe Duplechan
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2004, in the funeral home chapel, with Brother Charles Edward and Brother Bill Hudson officiating, for Joe Duplechan, 87, of Rayne, who died Saturday, Feb. 7, 2004 at 6:04 p.m. at his home in Rayne.
A Praise and Worship Service was held at the funeral home Monday at 6 p.m.
He is survived by his wife, Stella Duplechan, Rayne; one daughter and son-in-law, Jo Ann D. and Joseph Donnie Fontenot, Lake Charles; and two grandsons and their wives, Jeremy and Callie Tucker, Dallas, Texas , and Joseph and Jennie Samantha Tucker, Mandeville.
Mr. Duplechan was co-owner and operator of D&R City Motors in Rayne for approximately 20 years, specializing in transmissions.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his parents and seven siblings.
Thanks to the heavenly Father for providing the best husband, father and grandfather. He truly gavbe of himself, as Jesus would in all aspects of his life.

Anna Senegal
Funeral services were held Saturday, February 26, 2005, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church for Anna Senegal, 93, who Passed away Sunday, February 20, 2005, in Houston, Texas .
Father Richard Wagner, S.S.J., was the celebrant of the Mass.
interment was in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Scott.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary L. Malbrough and her husband Henry of Houston, Texas ; son, John Sanders Senegal, Jr., and his personal friend, Virginia Batiste or Rayne; grandchildren Darrell Batiste Senegal, Ludy Bellard, and Anthony Campbell; an ex-daughter-in-law, Vergie Iles, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Sanders Senegal; her parents, Camille and Ella Square Augustine; her sisters, Beatrice and Leola Senegal and Alleen Stevens; and brothers, Ernest and Will Augustine.
Visitation wsa held Saturday, February 2a6 at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church beginning at 8 a.am util time of services.
Syrie Funeral Home of Lafayette ws in charge of he funeral arrangements.

Seth Randell Trahan
CROWLEY – Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 26, 2005, at Assembly of God for Sergeant Seth Randell Trahan, who died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2005, while serving our country in Iraq. Sergeant Trahan served with Charlie Company of the 3rd Battalion of the 256th Brigade Combat Team. Sergeant Trahan was on a dismounted patrol when he was struck by an improvised explosive device.
Rev. Loyd Singley officiated for the services.
Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Visitation was observed at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home on Friday from 7 to 11 p.m. and at Northside Assembly of God on Saturday from 9 a.m. until time of services.
Seth was 20 years old from Crowley and a 2002 graduate of Northside Christian School.
He is survived by his fiancée Kacie Gatte, his parents, Randy and Emma Trahan; his four sisters, Tara, Sarah and her husband Lance Olimb, Emily and her husband Rock Nelson and Anna Brooke; his paternal grandparents, Jake and Genevieve Trahan and godmother, Vickie Kibodeaux.
Seth was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Johnson and Dorothy Hanks.
Seth was an active member of Northside Assembly of God where he served in multiple capacities. Seth was a student of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette where he majored in criminal justice.
In an email to his family on Jan. 18, Seth wrote: “I am proud to serve my country and I am willing to make any sacrifice, whatever it may be. Every time I put on this uniform I take pride in it because I love the American flag on my right shoulder. I have lived free in America for 20 years and I am willing to give up one year so that someone else can have the chance to experience the freedom that we take for granted everyday.”
Arrangements were entrusted to Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Northside Assembly of God for the “Seth Trahan Memorial Fund.”

Kenneth Charles Kibodeaux
EGAN- Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 27, 2005, at St. Michael Chapel in Egan for Kenneth Charles Kibodeaux, 48, who died Friday, Feb. 25, 2005, near Kaplan.
Father David Broussard officiated for the services. Burial was held in Sensat Cemetery.
Visitation was observed Saturday from 3 p.m. until 10 p.m. On Sunday visitation was from 8 a.m. until the time of services.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
Survivors include three daughters, Crystal Kibodeaux of Lake Arthur, April K. Lavergne of Scott and Mazie Kibodeaux of Cow Island; one son, Adam Kibodeaux of Cow Island; his mother, Viola C. Kibodeaux of Egan; two sisters, Barbara K. Landry of Iowa, Judy K. Lacroix of Rayne; two brothers, James Kibodeaux of Crowley and Albert Kibodeaux of Egan; and one grandson, Braydon Lavergne of Scott.
Mr. Kibodeaux was preceded in death by his father, Adam Kibodeaux.
Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Roy W. Keene
CROWLEY –– Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2005, in the Bible Missionary Church, with the Rev. Spencer Johnson officiating, for Roy W. Keene, 82, of Crowley, who died Sunday, Feb. 27, 2005, at 1:40 a.m. in his Crowley home.
He is survived by his wife, Annette Faulk Keene, Crowley; two sons and their spouses, Larry and Umorn Keene and Timothy and Terry Keene, all of Lake Charles; two daughters and their spouses, Linda and Jack Webb, Lafayette, and Dianne and Terry Moore, Ragley; two grandsons, Jason roy Keene and Timothy Scott Keene; five granddaughters, Angie webb, Latosha Moore, Joanne Keene, Jessica Keene and Caitlin Keene; three great-grandchildren; Sheila Keene, Jason Roy Thomas Keene and Jada Rayne Keene; and two sisters, Opan Keene Simon of Lafayette and Marge Keene Krahe, Crowley.
Mr. Keene attended schools in Rayne, Crowley, Lafayette College, Colorado A&M and Sowela Tech.
He loved art and took lessons locally as well as in college.
He retired from Cities Service Refinery after 33 years of service. At night he taught school in Crowley and Lake Charles. He attended Bible Missionary Church and was an active member in the church and made more than a dozen trips to mission fields as a troubleshooter for the young missionaries.
He started a scholarship fund to help young men and women prepare themselves for mission work abroad. If anyone wants to contribute to Roy’s Scholarship Fund in lieu of flowers, they can make the donation to Rev. William Whited, who is in charge of the fund.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clovelia and Henry Lelland Keene; one sister, Sadie Keene, and one brother, Leland Keene.
Duhon Funeral Home of Crowley was in charge of funeral arrangements.
