Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2005, in St. Theresa Catholic Church in Duson, with Father Martin Leonards officiating, for Mae Ruth LeBlanc , 66, of Crowley, who died at 4 a.m. Monday, Feb. 28, 2005, in the Crowley Guest Home.
Burial was in St. Theresa Cemetery in Duson.
Visitation was observed Wednesday from 9 a.m. until time of services.
Ms. Mae Ruth was a native of Duson and a resdient of Crowley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mrs.Edmonia Aucoin and Gladu LeBlanc .
Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Patricia T. Arnould
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 4, 2005, at a 2:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for Patricia T. Arnould, 84, who died Monday, February 28, 2005, at 11:30 p.m. in Southwest Medical Center.
interment will be in the Lafayette Memorial Park.
The Rev. George Simon will be the celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the services. Jodi Bollich, organist, will sing for the services, Be Not Afraid, Hail Mary, Gentle Woman, How Great Thou Art and Yahweh You Are Near. Giftbearers are Tyler and Nicholas Dupuis and Kellie Boudreaux.
Survivors include two daughters, Patty Boudreaux and her husband, Wilson, of Duson, and Frances Dupuis and her husband, Barry, of Lafayette; two sons, Michael P. Arnould and his wife, Marsha, of Clinton, and John Stephen Arnould and his wife, Gerry, of Philomath, OR; eleven grandchildren, Chip, Luke, Carla, Ryane, Dustin, Cody Arnould, Paul, Andre and Kellie Boudreaux, and Tyler and Nicholas Dupuis; and two great grandchildren, Caleb and Collin Arnould.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Paul Raoul Arnould, Jr.; her parents; and one son, Anthony Paul Arnould, Jr.
A native of Kyushu, Japan and a resident of Lafayette for 53 years, Mrs. Arnould was a loving mother, grandmother and friend and will be missed by all who knew her.
She loved camping, traveling and sewing. Mrs. Arnould was also a well-known seamstress while being a housewife in Lafayette.
A rosary will be prayed Thursday at 7:00 PM in the Martin & Castille Funeral Home.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 2:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Thursday and from 9:00 a.m. until time of services Friday.
Pallbearers are Paul and Andre Boudreaux, Chip, Luke and Cody Arnould and Bobby Brasseaux. Honorary pallbearers are Nicholas, Tyler, Barry Dupuis and Wayne Arceneaux.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Martin & Castille Funeral Home, Inc. of Lafayette.

Frances Thevis Melancon
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2005, at a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Leo Catholic Church for Frances Thevis Melancon, 85, who died Monday, February 28, 2005, in the Rayne Guest Home.
interment will be in St. Leo Cemetery.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary M. Raine and husband Jack, of Houston, Texas .; one son, Russell Melancon and wife Mary, of Roberts Cove; seven grandchildren, Sara Melancon, of Roberts Cove, Aaron Melancon and wife Erin, of Roberts Cove, Reed Melancon, of Roberts Cove, Ethan Melancon, of Roberts Cove, Wes Raine, of Nashville, Tenn., Garrett Raine, of Lafayette, and Travis Raine, of College Station, Texas .
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alphonse Melancon; parents, Peter Joseph Thevis and Mary Magdeline Theunissen Thevis; two sisters, Mary Thevis, Gertrude Habetz; eight brothers, Joe Thevis, Gerard Thevis, Daniel Thevis, Leonard Thevis, Martin Thevis, William Thevis, Peter Thevis and Theodore Thevis.
Mrs. Melancon was a member of St. Leo Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters, and St. Leo Ladies Altar Society.
The family would like Memorial donations be made to Hospice of Acadiana, 2600 Johnston St., Ste 200, Lafayette, La. 70503-3240.
A rosary was recited at 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Wednesday and 10:00 a.m. Thursday.
The family requested that the visiting hours be observed from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and from 9:00 a.m. until service time Thursday.
Pallbearers will be her six grandson, Wes Raine, Garrett Raine, Aaron Melancon, Travis Raine, Reed Melancon and Ethan Melancon.
Honorary pallbearers will be Sara Melancon, Erin Melancon, JoAnn Thevis, Geraldine Dilly and Debbie Robinson.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Gossen Funeral Home Inc. of Rayne.

Jane Venable
Funeral services will be held at a later date for Jane Venable, 65, of Rayne, who died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005, at her daughter’s home.
Visitation was observed Thursday, Feb. 17, from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. at Duhon Funeral Home. A funeral Mass was held Saturday, Feb. 19, at St. John Berchman Church in Cankton.
She is survived by a daughter and her spouse, Karen and Blaine Dupont of Rayne; a son and his spouse, Stephen and Lorina Venable of Lafayette; four grandchildren, Brett, Dylan and Ashley Dupont and Amber Venable; two brothers, Lloyd Comeaux of Church Point and Verman Comeaux of Duson; and five sisters, Berdie Trahan of Lafayette, Bernice Lavergne of Rayne, Beaulah Alleman and Helen Martin of Scott and Vernice Allemand of Duson.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Evangeline Meche Comeaux and John Berchman Comeaux.
Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne was in charge of arrangements.

Hayward Martin Richard
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, February 24, 2005, at a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Catholic Church for Hayward Martin Richard, 78, who died Tuesday, February 22, 2005 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette.
interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery #2.
The Rev. Bill Ruskoski, pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Rayne, will be the celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the services. Organist will be Phyllis Simar and soloist will be Mr. Richard’s brother-in-law, Ron Moreau.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 57 yrs. Rosemary Moreau Richard, of Rayne; two daughters, Olivia R. Rayburn and companion Jeffery Richard, of Rayne, Darlene R. Primeaux and husband Kenneth, Sr., of Kaplan; one sister, Gladys R. Robichaux, of Rayne; six grandchildren, Kelli Bourque Meche and husband Perry, Lukas Bourque and fiancee Sheila Terro, Erik Bourque, Kenneth Primeaux, Jr. and wife Nicki, Aimee Primeaux and fiancee Timothy Monaghan, Adam Primeaux; one great grandchild, Alexis Bourque; three step great grandchildren, Zack, Hannah and Jake Meche.
Preceded in death by his parents, Martin J. Richard and Oliva Lagrange Richard; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Lester and Hazel Richard, Batson and Anne Mae Richard; one nephew, Irving Ricard.
Mr. Richard retired with Union Texas Petroleum with 40 yrs., he served in U.S. Air Force, Merchant Marine during World War II and the Korean Conflict. Members of American Legion Post 77 in Rayne as Past Commander, Veteran of Foreign Wars, 40 and 8 Club and St. Joseph Society.
Rosaries will be recited at 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Wednesday and 11 a.m. Thursday.
The family requested that the visiting hours be observed from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. Wednesday and from 8:00 a.m. Wednesday until time of service.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Primeaux, Jr., Adam Primeaux, Lukas Bourque, Erik Bourque, Jeffery Moreau and Hubert Robichaux.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Gossen Funeral Home Inc. of Rayne, 334-3141.

Lena LeJeune Lanthier
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2005, in St. Michael Catholic Church in Crowley, with Father Sonny Brown officiating, for Lena LeJeune Lanthier, 90, of Crowley, who died at 5:40 p.m. Monday, Feb. 14, 2005, in the Southwind Nursing Home in Crowley.
Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery in Crowley.
Visitation was observed Tuesday from 2 to 10 p.m. and Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Leroy (Joyce) Richard, Church Point, and Mrs. Ken (Patty) Matthews of Crowley; one son and his wife, Robert and Mabel LeJeune, Estherwood; one sister, Mrs. Melvy (Effie) Ledoux, Port Arthur, Texas ; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Abraham LeJeune; her second husband, Ivan Lanthier; her parents, Laurina Thibodeaux and Aristile Daigle; four brothers, Moise, Pierre, Noah and Willie Daigle; and three sisters, Cecile Kibodeaux, Mable Kibodeaux and Armas Jagneaux.

Robert Lee Bertrand
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2005, at 2 p.m. at Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley for Robert Lee Bertrand, 59, who died at 8:10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, at his home in Crowley.
Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery in Crowley by Deacon Rodless Leleux.
Visitation was observed Monday from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. and Tuesday, from 8 a.m. until the time of the funeral.
A rosary was held Monday at 5:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
He is survived by two sons, Joseph Bertrand of Highland, Texas and Kevin Bertrand of Singer; four daughters, Dewanna Schexnayder and Charolette Cormier of Crowley, Karen Broussard of Estherwood and Lajoy Soileau of Highland, Texas ; one brother, L.J. Bertrand of Crowley; two sisters, Ethel Bertrand of Estherwood and Myrtis Davis of Crowley; and 17 grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ada Thibodeaux and Oness Bertrand, and siblings.
Bertrand served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era and was a member of VFW Post 6720 in Crowley.
Duhon Funeral Home of Crowley was in charge of arrangements.

Ethel Julien
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 28, 2005, at a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church for Ethel Julien, 73, who died Tuesday, February 22, 2005, in Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.
interment will be in Our Mother of Mercy Cemetery.
Survivors include her uncle, Morris Julien, of Rayne; two brothers, Peter F. Julien and wife Rose B., of Duson, and John C. Julien and wife, Donna, of East Pale Alto, California; seven sisters, Mary B. Fiest, of Galveston, Texas , Ida Mae Montegomery, of Rayne, Willie Mae Sandles and husband L.T., of Texas City, Texas , Joyce Zeno, of Port Arthur, Texas , Helen Antione and husband Felton, of Rayne, Johnson , of Beaumont, Texas , Linda Mouton, of Rayne; one aunt, Julia Julien, of Rayne; one sister-in-law, Juanita Julien, of Hitchcock, Texas .
She was preceded in death by her parents, Phillip Julien, Sr. and Rosanna Frances Julien; three brothers, Preston Julien, Sr., Phillip Julien, Jr., Claude Julien; and two sisters, Louise Gabriel, Rosanna Julien.
A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Sunday.
The family requested that the visiting hours be observed Sunday from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and visiting will continue at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church Monday 8:00 a.m. until time of service.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Gossen Funeral Home Inc. of Rayne.
