Todd Allen Synder
Memorial services will be announced at a later date for Todd Allen Synder, 39, of Rayne, who died Thursday, Feb. 27, 2003, at 4:30 p.m. in the LSU Medical Center in Lafayette.
He is survived by his wife, Tammy Synder, Rayne; two sons, Cody Snyder, New Iberia, and Joshua Thibodeaux, Rayne; three daughters, Brittney Snyder and Kristy Snyder, both of New Iberia, and Judith Snyder, Rayne; one brother, Rick Snyder, Texas ; and one sister, Julie Atkins, Oregon.
He was preceded in death by an infant son and parents, Dean Allen and Judith Snyder.
Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Joseph Alroid Breaux, Sr.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 8, 2003, in St. Joseph Catholic Church here, with Father Bill Ruskoski officiating, for Joseph Alroid Breaux, Sr., 58, who died Feb. 7, 2003.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. Saturday in the church.
Mr. Breaux was born on Oct. 19, 1944.
He was a resident of Ingleside, Texas , for the past 20 years.
He is survived by his wife, Maria Janie Breaux of Ingleside, Texas ; three daughters, Angela and her husband, Albert, Demett, and Maria and her husband, Glen, Monte, all of Kaplan, and Amie Menard of Rayne; two sons, Joseph Alroid Breaux, Jr., and his wife, Nicole, and Albert Breaux and his girlfriend, Alicia, all of Rayne; five stepchildren, Armando, Eddy and John Salinais and their wives, all of Inglesside, Texas , Flo Salinais of Austin, Texas , and Alma Lahmon of Kingsland, Texas ; two sisters, Rose Breaux and Laura Leger and their families of Rayne; eight grandchildren; and nine step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nettie and Estelle Breaux; and a son, Jeffery Scott Breaux.

John Ashton Thibodeaux
LAFAYETTE 末 Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, March 3, 2003, in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for John Ashton Thibodeaux, 83, who died Friday, Feb. 28, 2003, at Medical Center of Southwest Louisiana .
The Rev. Bill Hudson, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Rayne conducted the funeral services. Musical selections were performed by Luther Birney and Ramona Carmichael.
interment took place in Lafayette Memorial Park.
Mr. Thibodeaux, a native of Bristol, La., was the son of the late Sidney Thibodeaux and the former Rose Richard. He was a self-employed construction worker and a retired commercial fisherman. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church community in Rayne.
Survivors include his wife, the former Effie Prejean; two daughters, Annie Marie Thibodeaux of Lafayette, and Linda T. Peltier of Thibodaux; one son, John Gerald Thibodeaux, of Lafayette; four sisters, Ruby Gillaland, of Broken Arrow, Okla., Hazel Breaux and Hilda Richard, both of Rayne, and Mary Bertand, of Beaumont, Texas ; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Antoinette Robert Thibodeaux; and three brothers, Gabriel, Gus and Larry Thibodeaux.
Pallbearers were Ricky Thibodeaux, Gregory Thibodeaux, Chris Thibodeaux, John Gerald Thibodeaux, Bryan Patin and Harvey Drew Peltier.
Delhomme Funeral Home of Lafayette was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Alex "Petie" Bertrand, Jr.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, 2003, in Gossen Funeral Home Chapel for Alex "Petie" Bertrand, Jr., 34, who died at 10:40 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2003.
interment was in St. Joseph Cemetery #2 Mausoleum.
Survivors include his mother, Brenda Smith and husband Bob, of Crowley; birth father, Alex Bertrand, Sr. and wife Donna, of Crowley; four brothers, Thad Berken, of Crowley, Eric Berken, of Philadelphia, Penn., Reggie Berken, of Iota, Ron Berken, Jr., of Crowley; three sisters, Wendy Berken, of Rayne, Julie Morton, of Crowley, Yvette Arceneaux, of Rayne; three stepbrothers, Blaine Hebert, of Crowley, Marcus Hebert, of Crowley, Blaine Smith, of Mermentau; two stepsisters, Dinah Hebert, of Crowley, Alyassa Smith, of New Iberia; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Cleveland Creduer, of Rayne, and paternal grandmother, Anna Belle Bertrand, of Crowley.
He was preceded in death by his father, Reinhard John Berken, Sr.; grandparents Casper and Thelca Berken; and paternal grandfather, Alex Bertrand.
Arrangements had been entrusted to Gossen Funeral Home, Inc. of Rayne.

Wanda Mae Terro Jeanise
Funeral services were held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Feb, 21, 2003, in St. Joseph Catholic Church here for Wanda Mae Terro Jeanise, 64, of Rayne, who died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2003, at 4:37 p.m. at her home.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Thursday.
Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery No. 2.
She is survived by her former husband, Nelson Jeanise, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; one son and his wife, Roderick and Sharon Jeanise, Branch; three daughters and their husbands, Lana and David Hebert and Daisy Jeanise and fiance Jeremy Istre, all of Rayne, and Wenona and David Miller of Eunice; five grandchildren, Racheal LeJeune, Matthew Miller, Derrick Jeanise, Hunter Miller and Heather Jeanise; and five sisters, Mabel Duhon, Annabelle Abshire, both of Kaplan, Ruth Burton and Ruby Comeaux, both of Rayne, and Olite Quinn, Vinton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Maurice and Olita Terro; two sisters, Yolanda Smitty from Port Arthur, Texas , and Shirley Higginbotham from Vinton; and one brother, Wilford (Boone) Terro of Rayne.
Wanda was a retired clothing inspector for the Fruit of the Loom factory in Jeannerette and Garan, Inc. of Church Point. She was a loving and devoted mother and friend to her family and all of many friends.
Music selections were sung by Rodney Deville and David Benoit at the church and cemetery. Selections included Amazing Grace, House of Gold, I Saw The Light, Where The Soul Never Dies, and I値l Fly Away.
Readings were presented by a niece, Verna Doucet, and were taken from the Book of Wisdom and the Letter of Paul to the Corinthians.
Pallbearers were Roderick Jeanise, Dave Miller, Kevin Richard, David Hebert, Shane Prejean, and Jeremy Istre. Honorary pallbearers were Shawn Prejean and Devin Richard.
Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Bertha Lejeune
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 25,2003, in the Gossen Funeral Home Chapel for Bertha M. LeJeune, 91, who died Sunday in the South Cameron Memorial Hospital.
Survivors include one son, Howard J. and his wife, Alma DeRouen Sr. of Rayne; one daughter, Carita D. and her husband, Joseph L. Guidry Sr. of Rayne; two step daughters, Mary Jane and her husband Bertrand J. Guidry Jr., and Grace L. and her husband Merlin (Jack) Guidry of Rayne; 22 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Howard J. DeRouen Sr.; her second husband Ulyssee LeJeune; her parents, Eloi and Marie Ophelia Domingue Mouton; her brothers and sisters, Lucille M. Meche, Loucia M. Melancon, Horace Mouton, Sidney Mouton, Jean Clyde Mouton, Jean Mouton, Antoine and Clynton Mouton; one step-daughter, Lou Ethel Venable.
She was a member of yhe American Legion Auxillary for 50 years.
Visitation was Monday from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. and Tuesday from 8 a.m. until services.
Burial was in the St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of Gossen Funeral Home of Rayne.

Clifford R. Mitchell
EAGAN, MINN. 末 A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 7, 2003, in the Church of St. John Neumann in Eagan, Minn., for Clifford R. Mitchell, 87, of Eagan, who Passed away on Sunday, Feb. 16, 2003.
Mitchell was a former resident of Watertown, South Dakota, and Willmar, Minn.
There will be a gathering of friends to begin one hour prior to the Mass at the church.
Private inurement was held at St. Mary痴 Cemetery in Watertown, South Dakota.
Mr. Mitchell is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Carolyn; children, Gary (Mariel), Ross (Nina), Monica (Charles) Stutes of Rayne, Joan Hanken, Carol (Dennis Dingman, and Ken (Georgia); grandchildren, Charles Stutes, Joseph Stutes, John Hanken, David Hanken, Steven Dingman, Leah Stutes-Demarest, Sara Dingman, Elizabeth Mitchell, Daniel Dingman, Clifford Mitchell, William Mitchell, Matthew Hanken, Kate Mitchell, Michael Mitchell and Brian Sheehy; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Helen (Joe) Panaccione.
Funeral arrangements were handled by the Joseph S. Klecatsky & Sons Funeral Home in Eagan, Minn.

Anna Mae Prejean Mire
MIRE 末 Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2003, in Assumption Catholic Church in Mire, with Msgr. Russell Harrington officiating, for Anna Mae Prejean Mire, who died at 4:13 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, 2003, at 4:13 p.m. in her home in Lafayette.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m.Tuesday in the funeral home chapel.
Burial was in Assumption Cemetery in Mire.
She is survived by one daughter and her husband, Nellie Mire and Harry Holloway, of Lafayette; one son and his wife, Melvin and Beverly Arceneaux Mire, Thibodeaux; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cleveland Alphonse Mire; one daughter, Deloria Marie Mire; her parents, Elvie Marie Prejean and Leo Prejean; and two brothers, George and Ashton Prejean.
She was a native of the Mire Community.
Pallbearers were Myron Mire, Darrell Mire, Harry Holloway, Skipper Holloway, Evan Hebert and Pat Prejean.
The family offered a special thanks to the staff of Hospice of Acadiana for their support.

Josephine Hornsby Harmon
BRANCH 末 Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2003 in the Elizabeth Memorial Baptist Church in Branch, with the Rev. Rogers officiating, for Josephine Hornsby Harmon, 91, of Branch, who died at 10:20 a.m. Monday, Feb. 17, 2003, in the Crowley Guest Home.
Burial was in the Elizabeth Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery.
She is survived by three sons, Sidney, Richard and Nola Harmon, all of Vidor, Texas ; one granddaughter, Kay Jeanis, Vidor, Texas ; one great-grandson, Brandon Harmon, Vidor, Texas ; one grandson, Bobby Harmon and three great-grandchildren, Tristan Harmon, Kendric Harmon and Brandt Cormier, all of Scott; a son and his wife, Everett and Orlanda Harmon, Shreveport; granddaughter and her husband, Patricia and Richard Shoalmire, Shreveport; two great-grandsons, Patrick and Jon Shoalmire, Shreveport; great-granddaughter and her husband, Brandice and Darrell Shanklin, Charlotte and Rusty Goodman, Shreveport; daughter and her husband, Charlotte and Rusty Goodman, Shreveport; two great-grandsons, Christopher and Chad Goodman, both of Shreveport; a son and his wife, Bentley and Marvis Harmon, of Branch; three grandsons, Benjamin, Lakelie and Donovan Harmon, all of Lafayette; a great-grandson, Christopher Jaret Harmon, Lafayette; four great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Rose Gorsch, Vicksburg, Miss., Lois Richard, Branch, and Marjorie Mosley, Lake Charles; and one brother, Charles D. Hornsby, Crowley.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Allen Harmon; parents, Racheal Labby and Charles A. Hornsby; one brother, Roy Charles Hornsby; and two sisters, Esther Harmon and Eunice Murphy.
Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne was in charge of funeral arrangements.
