Iris Andrew Daigle
SHREVEPORT ––Services for Mr. Iris A. Daigle were held on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2004, at 1 p.m. at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating was the Rev. Melvin Finley of the Abundant Life Assembly of God Church inRayne.
interment was at Centuries Memorial Cemet-ery in Shreveport.
He was born on Jan. 21, 1924 in Rayne. Mr. Daigle entered into rest Saturday, Jan. 17, 2004 at Christus Schumpert Medical Center in Shreveport. He was a member of the AmericanLegion.
He is survived by his daughter, Dedra Reneaux and her husband Robert of Shreveport; one sister, Willama Cook and her husband Bill of Dalton, Ga.; two grandchildren, Matthew Jamison and Chase Reneaux, and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Louis Daigle and Mrs. Telise Thibodeaux Daigle; two brothers, Preston and Berlin Daigle; and one sister, Irene Arceneaux.
Centuries Memorial Funeral Home of Shreveport was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Marilyn “Tootsie” Wright LaCroix
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 17, 2004, at a Mass of Christian Burial in Gossen Funeral Home Chapel for Marilyn “Tootsie” LaCroix, 82, who died at 3:45 p.m. Thursday, January 16, 2004, in Crowley’s American Legion Hospital.
interment was in St. Joseph Cemetery #2.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Russell “Puggy” Broussard and Sharon Breaux Broussard, of Rayne; five grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde LaCroix; parents, William Wright, Sr. and Mathilda Boutte Wright; one sister, Evelyn Wright; and one brother, William Wright, Jr..
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Friday.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday.
Arrangements were entrusted to Gossen Funeral Home Inc. of Rayne.

Olide Dupuis
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2004, in the funeral home chapel, with Father Bill Ruskoski officiating for Olide Dupuis, 66, of Crowley, who died at 9:40 a.m. Monday, Jan. 19, 2004, at his home in Crowley.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 17, in the funeral home chapel.
Burial was in Arceneaux Cemetery in Rayne.
Visitation was observed Monday from 7 p.m. til time of service on Tuesday.
He is survived by his wife, Edna Dupuis, Kaplan; three sons, Michael Dupuis and Wayne Dupuis, both of Kaplan, and Tommy Dupuis, Scott; four daughters, Gail Bott, Scott, Carolyn Guidry, Crowley, Pauline Terro, Rayne, and Paula Reed, Cleveland, Texas ; two brothers, Eli Dupuis, Lafayette, and Sidney Dupuis, Rayne; two sisters, Isabelle Forestier of Lafayette and Audrea Menard, Rayne; 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was a native of Rayne having lived much of his life in Rayne. He moved to Crowley with his daughter after his health failed him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Estelle Lavergne and Alexon Dupuis; three brothers, Bert, Jessie and Eddie Dupuis; and one sister, Nonoon Comeaux.
Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Pearl Arceneaux
Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 12, 2004, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Pearl Arceneaux, 71, who died Friday, Jan. 9, 2004, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.
Survivors include her husband, Charles J. Arceneaux of Rayne; two sons, Randel Arsement of Rayne, and Patrick Dale Arceneaux of Sunset; two daughters, Brenda Ann Malbrough of Rayne, and Parrie Gail Arceneaux Guidry of Lyons Point; one brother, Curtis Chaisson of Westlake ; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Mathilda Roy Chaisson.
Visitation was Sunday Jan. 11, 2004, from 10 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. and Monday, Jan. 12, 2004, from 8 a.m. until time of services.
A Rosary was recited Sunday at 7 p.m.
Burial was in the St. Joseph Mausoleum under the direction of Gossen Funeral Home of Rayne.

Clifton Butler
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, 2004, in Starlight Baptist Church, with the Rev. Craig Gregory officiating, for Clifton Butler, 59, of Rayne, who died on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2004, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.
A wake was held at the church from 10:30 a.m. to time of services Saturday.
He is survived by three brothers, Charles Butler, Jr., Jeannette, Osborne Butler, Sr., Rayne, and Lawrence Butler, Crowley; four sisters, Mary Guidry, Pearl Sinegal, Louis Richard and Clara Brazier, all of Rayne; and a special friend, Thelma Lewis, Rayne.
Owens-Thomas Funeral Home of Crowley was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Shirley Seaward
CROWLEY ––Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2004, in the funeral home chapel, with Deacon Rev. Mr. Rodless Leleux officiating, for Shirley Seaward, 49, of Crowley, who died at 11 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 11, 2004, in Crowley.
Burial was in the Leblanc Cemetery in Midland.
She is survived by two sons, William Wheat, Grayson, and Frank Phillip Wheat, Clarks; one daughter, Frances Yvette Wehat, Gonzales; one brother, Charles S. Seaward, Jr., Olla; one sister, Wanda Mae Finley, Abbeville; and five grandchildren.
Mrs. Seaward was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Betty Jane Seaward; and one brother, Frank Poncho Seaward.
Duhon Funeral Home of Crowley was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Evans Cormier
DUSON ––Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 15, 2004, in the funeral home chapel, with Father Gary schexnaider officiating, for Evans Cormier, 80, of Duson, who died at 3:10 p.m. Monday, Jan. 12, 2004, in Lafayette General Medical Center.
A rosary was recited Wednesday at 7 p.m.
Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Visitation will be until 10 p.m. Wednesday and from 8 a.m. until time of services Thursday.
He is survived by one son and his wife, Larry and Betsy Cormier, Houma; two daughters and their husbands, Kat and Lloyd Broussard of Duson, and Edith and Wayne Monte of Memphis, Tenn.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Mr. Evans was a native of Breaux Bridge. He worked for Marshall and later Marshall Huval Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge. Then later, he worked at Lafayette Charity as an ambulance driver for 14 years. When they did away with ambulances, he worked in Central Supply before retiring.
He serviced in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was a member of Parks American Legion Post 289 and was a member of the Boys Scouts in Breaux Bridge.
Pallbearers will be Larry Cormier, Shawn Cormier, Lloyd Broussard, Wayne Monte, Lionel Boyer, Jr., and Tyce Cormier.
Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne was in charge of funeral arrangements.

James Morrow
Graveside services were held Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2004 at 3 p.m. in the Hebrew Rest Cemetery for James “Jim” Edward Morrow, age 73, who died Monday, Jan. 12, 2004, at 9:30 p.m. at his Lafayette residence.
Rabbi Barry Weinstein conducted the services.
Survivors include his wife, Lily K. Morrow, of Lafayette; two daughters, Susan Morrow Vorjac and her husband, Phil, of Miami, Fla., and Lynda Morrow Rodsiguez and her husband, John, of Orlando, Fla; and three grandchildren, John Rodsiguez, Michael Rodsiguez and Daniel J. Vorjac.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Twila Hiser Morrow.
A native of Camden, N.J. and a resident of Lafayette for 33 years, Mr. Morrow loved traveling and the stock market.
He was a veteran of military service having served in the United States Army in Vietnam.
Mr. Morrow was a member of the congregation of the Gates of Prayer in New Iberia where he served as past treasurer.
He was a past Duke of the Krewe of Triton and was a former member of the Rotary Club.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mr. Morrow’s name may be made to the Gates of Prayer, c/o Carolyn Lewald, 501 Santa Clara W., New Iberia, LA 70560.
Pallbearers were Robert Billeaudeau, Donald Guillaumin, Steven Lahasky, Vic Devalcourt, Joel Wallins and John Rodsiguez. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Jacob Lahasky, Jim Jeanmard, Jack Wormser, Leighton Devillier, Ronnie Lahasky, Steven Jankower, Dr. Ronnie Lahasky, Dr. Ronnie Lahasky and Expadie Laperouse, Jr.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Martin & Castille Funeral Home, Inc. of Lafayette.

Leroy J. Gautreaux
VINTON ––Leroy J. Gautreaux, 68, died Sunday, January 4, 2004, in his residence.
He was a native of Port Arthur, Texas , and had lived in Vinton since 1978. Mr. Gautreaux was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School in Port Arthur and attended Texas A. He retired as a supervisor from Texaco in the Port Arthur Plant.
Survivors include his wife, Dolores “Dee” Gautreaux of Nibletts Bluff; two sons, James Roy Gautreaux of Warren, Texas , and Marcus A. Gautreaux of Nibletts Bluff; two daugthers, Cynthia Ann Green of Corydon, Ind., and Susan Beth Suire of Nibletts Bluff; two sisters, Beulah Bosarge and Celma Smith, both of Port Arthur, Texas ; and 12 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Jane Patterson Gautreaux; one son, John Aubrey Gautreaux and one sister, Vivian Hayes.
His funeral was at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 7, in Hixson Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Rob Tibbits officiated.
Burial was in Nibletts Bluff Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Vinton.
Visitation was from 10 a.m.- 10 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.mem.com.
