Marion Brasseaux
CHURCH POINT –– Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2005, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Bill Hudson officiating, for Marion Brasseaux, 83, of Rayne, who died at 12 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005, at his home in Rayne.
Burial was in the First Baptist Church Cemetery in Church Point.
He is survived by one son, Rocco and Katherine Brasseaux of Rayne; and two grandchildren, Haley and Leonard Castille and Brock Brasseaux, all of Rayne.
Mr. Brasseaux was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Brasseaux; his parents, Lessian and Margarite Brasseaux; and one brother, Alva Brasseaux.
Mr. Brasseaux was graduate of Southwestern Louisiana Institute Class of 1955 with a bachelor in education. He was a retired teacher of Rayne High School.
Mr. Brasseaux served in the U.S. Army and Air Force during World War II, and he was a member of the American Legion Post No. 77.
The family requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Hospice of Acadiana, 2600 Johnston St., Suite 200, Lafayette, La. 70503-3240.
Duhon Funeral Home of Church Point was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Vivian Matt
CHURCH POINT –– Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Jan. 13, 2005, at 2 p.m. at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point for Mrs. John S. Matt, Jr., the former Vivian Constantin, 76, who died at 10:25 a.m. Monday, Jan.10, 2005, at her home in Rayne.
Visiting hours were observed from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday and will be observed from 8 a.m. to time of services Thursday.
interment will be in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Church Point.
Monsignor Fred Swenson will conduct the services.
Survivors include four daughters, Jackie M. Guillot and husband Ronald M., Sr. of Westwego; Dorita M. Brunet and husband, Albert P. of Harvey; Brenda Matt of New Orleans, and Sally M. Cormier and husband, Randel P. of Rayne; one son, Michael J. Matt of Rayne; nine grandchildren, Ronald M. Guillot, Jr., Jason A. Guillot and wife Shantell; Nicole C. Veillon and husband Raymond; David A. Brunet, Emma A. Brunet, Victor P. Cormier, John E. Cormier, Brandon P. Cormier and Dylan J. Cormier; five great-grandchildren, Ed. R. Veillon, Seth H. Vellion, Jacob A. Guillot, Julie A. Guillot and Byron J. Guillot; four brothers, James Constantin of Duson, Howard Constantin of Abbeville, Calice Constantin, Jr., of Rayne, and Michael Constantin of Rayne; two sisters, Anna Lou Thibodeaux of Waggaman, and Gloria Thibodeaux of Rayne.
Mrs. Matt was preceded in death by her husband, John S. Matt, Jr.; one sister, Mary Cutrer; her mother, Leah Trahan Constantin; and her father, Calice Constantin, Sr.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Guidry Funeral Home of Church Point.

Antoinette Breaux Monceaux
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 13, 2005, at a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Catholic Church for Antoinette “Toinette or Maw Maw” Breaux Monceaux, 88, who returned to the Lord surrounded by her family in prayer on Tuesday, January 11, 2005, in Crowley American Legion Hospital.
interment will be in St. Joseph #2 Cemetery.
Survivors include her two sons, Leroy Trahan, of Rayne, Otis Monceaux and wife Bonny, of Rayne; one brother, Willie Breaux and wife Sylvia, of Lake Charles; eight grandchildren, Bryon Romero and wife Stephanie, Monique Bush and husband John, Barry Romero and wife Nicole, Duke Romero and wife Laurie, Janee’ Romero, Nicholas Monceaux, Andrea Hollier and husband Josh, Renee’ Monceaux; and eleven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Otto Monceaux; two sons, Richard Monceaux, Robert L. Romero; Great Grandson, Ren M. Romero; Parents, Cyprien and Anna Baronet Breaux; four brothers, Calais, Theall, Joseph and Antiona Breaux; four sisters, Maylia Baronet, Edith Lapoint, Dora Pepper and Bertha Richard.
Mrs. Monceaux loved visiting with her family and friends as of late with her declining health spent most of her day praying. She enjoyed gardening and nursing flowers and plants back to life.
The family would like to thank Geneva and Samantha who lovingly cared for her.
A rosary was recited at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday.
The family requested that the visiting hours be observed from 12:00 noon until 10:00 p.m. Wednesday and from 8:00 a.m. until time of services. Arrangements have been entrusted to Gossen Funeral Home Inc. of Rayne.

Donald “Scott” Trull
Graveside services were held at 2:15 p.m. Tuesday, January 4, 2005, at Rayne Cemetery Inc. for Donald “Scott” Trull, 52, who died Saturday, December 25, 2004, in Garland, Texas .
interment was in Rayne Cemetery Inc. in the Trull/Sills family plot.
Survivors include his son, Matthew J. Trull, of Garland, Texas .; parents, Donald E. and Thelma R. Sills Trull, of San Antonio, Texas .; and one sister, Susan C. Trull, of San Antonio.
Scott graduated from Yolo (California) High School in 1971, after which he worked for various collection agencies. He was a pseudo-philosopher, interested in various forms of religion. He was a collector, especially of baseball cards. He liked pranks and jokes and had a very creative imagination. He will be missed and long remembered by his loving family.
The family requested that the visiting hours be observed from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. Tuesday.
Arrangements were entrusted to Gossen Funeral Home Inc. of Rayne.

Drake Michael Seaux
Graveside services were held Tuesday, January 4, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. at Assumption Catholic Cemetery in Mire for Drake Michael Seaux, infant son of Dwight and Vanessa Deshotels Seaux of Mire. He is also survived by two brothers, Anthony Paul and Hunner John Seaux both of Mire; maternal grandparents, John and Dianne Deshotels of Mire, maternal great-grandfather, Olen Grabener of Hemphill Texas ; maternal great-grandmother, Rose Deshotels of Lafayette; maternal step-great-grandmother, Dorothy Grabener of Hemphill Texas ; paternal grandparents, Andrus and Mary Seaux of Mire; paternal great-grandfather, Clauis Gallet of Kaplan, and Larry Mouton of Mire.
Gossen Funeral Home of Rayne in charge of arrangements.

Eddie Joseph Pellerin
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Jan. 6, 2005 at 2 p.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Father Bill Ruskoski officiating, for Eddie Joseph Pellerin, 79, of Rayne, who died at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2005, in Lafayette General Medical Center.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel.
Visitation was observed on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and on Thursday form 8 a.m. until time of services.
Mr. Pellerin is survived by his wife, Orphise Pellerin of Rayne; one son, Jimmie Pellerin, of Rayne; two daughters, Barbara Pellerin, Rayne, and Lucy Smith of Pearl River; one brother, Freddie Pellerin, Mamou; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Mr .Pellerin served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 77 of Rayne. He was a farmer in the Rayne community until his retirement.
He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Tiomberlee Pellerin; his parents, Mr. Leonce Pellerin and Ms. Alicia Callais Pellerin; one brother, Curtis Pellerin; and one sister, Carrie Pedigo.
Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Alvord C. Peltier
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday July 27, 2002, at St. Joseph Church in Rayne for Alvord C. Peltier, Sr., 69, who died Thursday, July 25, 2002, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette.
Burial was in St. Joseph Mausoleum.
He is survived by seven sons, Chuck and his wife Sylvia of Rayne, Wayne and his wife Patricia of Rayne, Paul and his wife Teri of Destrehan, Joe and his wife Jeanne of Sugarland, Texas , Phillip and his wife Kristi of Rayne, David and his wife Colleen of Arlington, Texas , and Carl of London, England; three daughters, Frances Moreno and her husband Carl of Gonzales, Terry Lormand and her husband Merlin of Mire and Ann Peltier of Rayne; one brother, Emile George Peltier, Jr, Baton Rouge; five sisters, Ollie Mae Waggenspack, Dutch Town, Mary Blanche Marchand, St. Gabriel, Catherine P. Sharp, St. Gabriel, Linda Landry, Houston, Texas , and Carol Peltier, St. Gabriel; 26 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Claudia Petitjean Peltier; parents, Emile George and Mary Blanche Keller Peltier, Sr.; and two brothers, John Selby and Robert Emmett Peltier.
Mr. Peltier, a resident of Rayne for the past 45 years, was born in St. Gabriel and graduated from Catholic High in Baton Rouge. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and co-founder of Quality Solids Separ-ation.
A rosary was recited Friday at 7 p.m.
Gossen Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Berlin J. Guidry
A memorial for Berlin J. Guidry, 71, will be held at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church in Church Point on Sunday, Aug. 4, 2002, at the regular 10 a.m. Sunday Mass.
Duhon Funeral Home was in charge of the cremation funeral rite.
Berlin died on Sunday, July 21, 2002, at 11:15 a.m. at his Rayne residence. He was under the care of Hospice of St. Landry, 1307 N. Parkerson Avenue, Crowley, La. Phone # 337-785-1407. The family requests that any donations be given in his memorial to an organization that helped grant the respect of life and the dignity of death.
Berlin founded B.J. Guidry Construction Company through the assistance of his wife, Joyce D., in the year 1980. This is a family business dealing in the operation of oil-field construction located in Rayne.
Berlin is survived by his three children, Geraldine Richard and Keevin Guidry, both of Lake Charles, and Philip Guidry of Sulphur. He is also survived by one brother, Lee Guidry of Rayne; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ignace Guidry, and his mother, Loraine Godeaux.

Elva ‘Shun’ Roger
Funeral services were held Friday, July 26, 2002, at a 10 a.m. Mass in St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Carencro for Elva Roger, age 90, the former Elva Brasseaux, who died Tuesday, July 23, 2002, at 5:35 p.m. in Lafayette General Medical Center.
interment was in St. Peter Catholic Cemetery in Carencro. The Rev. Bill Melcanon, pastor of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, officated at the services.
Musical selections were provided by Ron Moreau, accompanied by Phyllis Simar on the organ. The songs were Amzaing Grace, Notre Pere, Hail Mary, Gentle Woman, Just A Closer Walk with Thee and J’Irai la Voir Un Jour.
Ms. Roger was a native of Carencro and a resident of the Carencro/Scott area all of her life. She was a parishioner of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Carencro.
Survivors include one son, Herman “Rog” Roger and his wife, Raetta “Sis” of Thibodaux; four grandchildren, Angelique Rogert, Monique Roger Velez, Melanie Roger and John Roger; and three great-grandchildren, Nicholas Velez, Brandon Velez and Hailey Nichol Darby.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ovey Roger; one son, Clasmae “C.J.” Roger; her parents, Romain Brasseaux and the former Alice Melancon, borth natives of Carencro; three brothers, Bryan Brasseaux, L.J. Brasseaux and Clasmae Brasseaux; and two sisters, Edmae Landry and Bernice Bernard.
A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
Pallbearers were Larry Darby, Mike Casey, Aubrey Leger, Vernon Roger, John Dale Landry, Errol Menard, and Kyle Casey.
Melancon Funeral Home of Carencro was in charge of arrangements.

Belinda Gail Gobert
Funeral services for Belinda Gail Gobert, 48, of Eunice, were held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2002, in Greater True Light Baptist Church in Eunice, with the Rev. Christopher Arvie conducting the service.
A viewing was held at Our Mother of Mercy Shrine in Rayne from 8 to 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 31, prior to burial there.
She is survived by her parents, Stanley Strauss, Sr., and Valentine G. Strauss, both of Eunice; two sons, Brian K. Strauss and Brandon J. Gobert, both of Baton Rouge; two daughters, Natalie N. Strauss and Tonya M. Gobert, both of Eunice; a brother, Stanley Strauss, Jr., Lake Charles; a sister, Glenda A. Strauss Semien, Eunice; and three grandchildren.
Frank BrothersFuneral Home of Eunice was in charge of funeral arrangements.
