Hazel Boudreaux Prejean
Mire - Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 18, 2003, at a Mass of Christian Burial in Assumption Catholic Church for Hazel Boudreaux Prejean, 80, who died Wednesday, July 16, 2003.
interment was in Assumption Cemetery
in Mire.
Survivors include one son, Gerald Prejean, of Scott; two daughters, Joyce Roger, of Scott, and Margaret Hebert, of Mire; one sister, Virginia Mire, of Mire; five grandchildren, Cheryl Denais, Jeffery Roger, Angela Prejean, Christopher Prejean, Dwight Hebert; and five great-grandchildren, Casi Boudreaux, Christi Boudreaux, Conner Denais, Ryan Roger, Jacob Hebert.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alibe Prejean; parents, Maurice and Alice Boudreaux; four brothers; and four sisters.
A rosary was prayed at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
Pallbearers were Gerald Prejean, Jeffery Roger, Dwight Hebert, Christopher Prejean, Johnny Stelly and Joey Denais. Honorary pallbearers were Henry Roger and Scotty Boullion.
Arrangements were entrusted to Gossen Funeral Home Inc. of Rayne.
Estella Holloway Blanchard
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2003, in the Duhon Funeral Home chapel, with Father Thomas Vu officiating, for Estella Holloway Blanchard, 81, of Rayne, who died at 8:05 p.m. Sunday, July 20, 2003, in the Rayne Guest Home.
A rosary was recited Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the chapel.
Burial was in Assumption Cemetery
in Mire.
She is survived by three daughters, Laura Venable, Linda and Dale Meche, all of Rayne, and Sharon Schexnayder, Branch; one sister, Gladys H. Dugas, Rayne; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Blanchard was preceded in death by her parents, Theo and Melina Holloway; her husband, Elton Blanchard; and two sisters, Telecia Touchet and Sarah Credeur.
She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas.
Pallbearers were Dale Meche, Ronnie Venable, Nicole Hayes, Erica Bowling, Jason Guidry, and Amy Guidry.
Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne was in charge of funeral arrangements.
Goldie Morgan Hebert
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, July 25, 2003, in the Gossen Funeral H ome Chapel, for Goldie Morgan Hebert, 95, who died Monday, July 21, 2003, at the American Legion Hospital in Crowley.
Survivors include one son and his wife, Thomas James and Janell Hamblet Hebert of Colorado Springs, Colorado; two grandsons, Gregory and his wife Britta Hebert of San Antonio Texas , and David G. Hebert of Mesa Arizona; she is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; and great great nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Goldie was preceded in death by her husband Frank J. Hebert; three brothers, Shelton Davis Morgan, Murry Hal Morgan and Herman "Dago" Morgan; and two sisters Roxie Sills, and Ethel Hoffpauir.
Mrs. Goldie was a member of the Women's Society of Christian Services, and the Wesleyan Service Guild.
Visitation will be Thursday July 24, 2003, from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Friday July 25, from 8 a.m. until services. A Rosary will be recited Thursday at 7:00 p.m.

Winnie C. Prejean
Funeral services were held Friday, July 11, 2003, at 2 p.m. at St. Joseph Chatholic Church, for Winnie Credeur Prejean, 76, who died Wednesday, July 9, 2003, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital.
Survivors include two sons and their wives, Mike and Sheila Prejean, of Prairieville, and Ron and Georgette Prejean, of Lafayette; two daughters, Cheryl and Bill Guidry of Rayne, and June and Troy Cooper of Dallas Texas ; one sister, Wilma Laughlin of Rayne; nine grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
Mrs. Prejean was preceded in death by her parents, Clopha and Telesia Hebert Credeur; one brother John Credeur; two sisters Elise Venable, and Scial Trahan; also one grandson, Phillip John Guidry.
Mrs. Prejean was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, and St. Joseph Ladies Altar Society, a lay minister for the shut-ins, and was a teacher’s aide at both Rayne High School and also Rayne Central School for 18 years.
Visitation was Thursday from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. until services. A Rosary was recited Thursday at 7 p.m.
Burial was in the St. Joseph Mausoleum under the direction of Gossen Funeral Home of Rayne.
The family requests in leiu of flowers donation be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
Jeffrey (Jeff) Stoute
A memorial service was held Saturday, July 12, 2003, for Jeffrey (Jeff) Stoute, 43, of Rayne, who died Tuesday, July 8, 2003, at his home in Rayne.
Stoute is survived by one son, Willie Stoute, Duson; one daughter, Jessica Stoute-Roy, Rayne; three granddaughters, Bailee Roy, Irin Roy, and Zoe Roy; his mother, Mamie Stoute, Crowley; two brothers, Luther Stoute, Jr., and Curtist Stoute, both of Mississippi; one sister, Ella Stoute, Kaplan; and his ex-wife and best friend, Angie Ehlers, Duson.

Frank Glynn Cox
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 11, 2003, in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor L.C. Lord officiating, for Frank Glynn Cox, 48, of Duson, who died at 5:15 a.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2003, in the Autumn Breeze Nursing Home in Lafayette.
Burial was in the St. Joseph Cemetery
in Rayne.
He is survived by one son, Glynn David Cox, Lafayette; one daughter, Laura Cox, California; three brothers, James Edison West, Lafayette, Thomas Cox, Arnaudville, and Daniel Meaux Reed, Texas ; two sisters, Bernadine Thibodeaux, Rayne, and Linda Yearsley, Texas ; one grandchild, Palin Cox, Indiana; adopted mother, Norma Jean Gates, Lafayette, and one stepsister, Kim Gates.
Mr. Cox was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Lou and Thomas Henery Meaux; his adopted father, Frank Lynn Cox; one sister, Betty Meaux Van Tassell; and one brother, Joseph Meaux.

Beginning this fall, all AMS students attending the middle grade school will be required to purchase an I.D. picture. The price will be $5.00. “All students will be required to wear their I.D. pictures at all times,” Principal Thibodeaux emphasizes in a letter to parents.
Students are asked to wear their school uniform shirts when taking their identification pictures on Monday, Aug. 4, beginning with sixth graders from 9 to 10 a.m., seventh graders from 10 to 11 a.m. and eighth graders from 11 a.m. to 12 noon.
Tony Domingue
ALICE, TEXAS –– Tony Domingue, 75, Passed away at his home on July 9, 2003.
He was born November 1, 1927 in Rayne to Amelca and Zulmae Domingue.
He was retired from Texas after 35 years of employment.
Tony was a rancher, and a horse lover; he also enjoyed dove and quail hunting.
He worked many years with the Alice Youth Rodeo and was a member of the Beef Masters Association and the American Quarter Horse Association.
He was a member of the Alice Volunteer Fire Department for many years and was a World War II Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jerry Collinsworth, in 1993; a sister, Antoinette Boudreaux; and two brothers, Leroy “Pete” Domingue and Lenis Domingue.
Survivors include his wife, Dena Domingue of Alice; one daughter, Roberta Meadows of The Woodlands; three sisters, Bertha Royer, Eula Comeaux and Alma Romero, all of Rayne; one brother, Wallace Domingue of Sulphur; two grandchildren, Soctt (Neva) Meadows and Traci Meadows, all of Houston, Texas ; and one great-grandchild, Tanner Meadows of Houston.
Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 12, 2003, at the Holmgreen Mortuary Chapel in Alice, Texas .
Burial was at 4:30 p.m. in the Combes Cemetery
in Combes, Texas .

Emile Joseph Comeaux
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2003, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Father Bill Ruskoski officiating, for Emile Joseph Comeaux, 83, of Rayne, who died at 4:20 a.m. Monday, July 14, in Crowley’s American Legion Hospital.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Monday.
Burial was in Assumption Cemetery
in Mire.
He is survived by two sons, Harry Comeaux and Rodney Comeaux, both of Rayne; three daughters, Murmay Comeaux, Crowley, Laura Thomas, Duson, and Judy Dogua, Rayne; one sister, Angela Morvant, Rayne; 12 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Mr. Comeaux was preceded in death by his wife, Fannie Comeaux; two grandchildren, Harry Troy Comeaux, and infant Comeaux, sons of Harry Comeaux; his parents, Thobert Comeaux and Tozer Comeaux; five brothers, Jules, Nodel, Arthur, Leonard, and Charles Comeaux; and two sisters, Ellenor Credeur and Odessa Breaux.

Leo Joseph Trahan Sr.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 17, 2003, at a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Catholic Church for Leo Joseph Trahan Sr., 88, who died Tuesday, July 17, 2003, in Crowley American Legion Hospital.
Entombment will be in St. Joseph #2 Mausoleum.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-three years, Leatrice Richard Trahan, of Rayne; one son, Leo Trahan, Jr. and his wife Gail; one grandson, Andrew "Andy"; one granddaughter, Brianna, all of Pascagoula, Miss.; and one sister, Delia Beaugh, of Church Point; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Emethile Credeur Trahan; and six brothers, Eddie, Dennis, Emile, Ursin, Edmond and Irby.
He was a master carpenter working for Rayne Lumber Yard, and a volunteer fireman with Rayne Fire Department since 1958 and a member of Knights of Columbus. He was a veteran of WWII, serving as a airplane mechanic as a Staff Sgt. in the U.S. Air Force in Texas and Japan.
He was interviewed numerous times by the compilers of books on the Cajun French language for his extensive knowledge of the Cajun language, and is cited as such in Tonnerre Mes Chiens by Amanda LaFleur. He was instrumental in helping his niece Phoebe Trotter translate Floyd Sonnier book, From Small Bits Of Charcoal.
A rosary was recited at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 6:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, and from 8:00 a.m. until time of services Thursday.
