Lisa Anne Butaud
BOERNE, TEXAS –– Lisa Anne Butaud, beloved daughter of Connie Devillier Butaud and Lou Butaud, Jr, entered into eternal life on June 30, 2003.
Lisa loved the outdoor life, hunting, riding horses, and snow skiing. She especially loved spending quiet times on the beach in Corpus Christi, Texas .
The family will have a service, in a format requested by Lisa, at Bob Hall Pier in Corpus Christi. The memorial will start at sunrise, with the sound of waves, the soft wind blowing, and the smell of ocean air. And then, her ashes will be committed to the sea.
She is survived by her parents, Connie and Lou Butaud, of Boerne, Texas ; two children, Celissa Rae New and Dustin James New of Wimberley, Texas ; one brother, Mark Stephen Butaud of Colorado Springs, Colorado; two sisters, Marla Butaud Holsomback of Alexandria, Louisiana and Nadine Butaud Taylor of Castle Rock, Colorado. Also surviving her are three nieces and six nephews.
Lisa was a graduate of Madison High School, San Antonio and owner of Cuttin-up Beauty Salon in San Marcos, Texas . Lisa’s salon specialized in total body care, including hair, nails, pedicures and massage therapy.
Lisa had many good and loyal friends to help support her in her time of need. Her “Prayer Warriors” stretched across this land. This support continues even after death. A “Celebration of Life” benefit will be sponsored at the Hays County Civic Center in San Marcos, Texas on July 12 starting at noon. Proceeds from this benefit, not used for medical expenses, will be donated to the Cancer Therapy and Research Center in San Antonio, Texas .

Anne Leon
EL PASO, TEXAS –– Anne Leon, 45, Passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2003, in El Paso, Texas .
She was born in Pillsburgh, Penn., and grew up in El Paso, Texas .
She was a graduate of Andress High School and had a degree in Medical Record Science. She worked at the State Center in El Paso for 10 years and was a volunteer for the residents during the Special Olympics.
She was a beloved wife, daughters, sister and aunt. Married for 26 years, Anne was a devoted wife to Roland Leon and mother of Roland Leon, Jr., and Amanda Rae Leon.
She is survived by two sisters, Cathy Wagner and her husband, Orin Peterson, and Pat Bishop and a brother, James J., Foran and wife Sophie.
She will always be remembered by parents, Alice Foran and James J. Foran as a loving and caring daughter. She is also survived by her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. David Leon; sisters-in-law, Lydia Higginbortham and husband Pete, Lisa Alford and husband Any and brothers-in-law, Don Leon and David Leon. There are also many nieces and nephews who will always cherish the memories of thier Aunt Anne.
Her life was devoted to family and friends. The last year of her life was spent courageously fighting cancer.
She will always be remembered as a role model and missed by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation was held Thurday, June 26, with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home.
The Funeral Mass was held on Friday, June 27, 2003, at 1 p.m. with interment following at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.

Glenn D. Veronie
MIRE –– Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2003, in Assumption Church, with Msgr. Russell Harrington officiating, for Glenn D. Veronie, 39, of Mire, who died Monday, June 30, 2003, at 7:50 p.m. in Crowley’s American Legion Hospital.
A rosary was recited Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Burial was in Assumption Maussoleum in Mire.
He is survived by two daughters, Michelle Renee Veronie and Jennifer Lillian Veronie, both of Lafayette; his mother and father, Roma and Albert Veronie, Mire; three brothers, Ronald James Veronie and Dwayne Veronie, both of Mire, and Daniel Veronie, Lafayette; two nieces and five nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Hermina Syphrien Burleigh and Bennel Veronie; and Rena Meche Veronie.
Because of the wonderful care that was given to Glenn, the family wishes to thank the following people: Dr. Curtis, all the Home Health aides, Sleek with PCA, American Legion nurses and staff, especially the ones in ICU, the Mire Volunteer Fire Department and Mrs. Bulsy Mire for bringing Holy Communion to the home. He was a victim of ALS for 11 years.
Pallbearers were Ronald Veronie, Daniel Veronie, Eddie Durio, Dwayne Veronie, Carroll Paul Guilbeau, Jr. and Jackie Alleman. Honorary pallbearers were Michelle Veronie, Jennifer Veronie, and Paige Veronie.
Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne was in charge of arrangements.

Gilford Joseph Breaux, Sr.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 7, 2003, at 2 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Gilford Joseph Breaux Sr. , 74, who died Saturday, July 5, 2003, at his residence in Rayne.
Survivors include his wife, Eula Mae LeBlanc Breaux of Rayne; two sons, and their wives, Michael and Deborah Breaux, and Gilford and Melissa Breaux, all of Rayne; two daughters, Mary and her husband Windel Boulet of Crowley, and Jeanette Breaux of St. Martinville.
Mr. Breaux was also survived by eight grandchildren, Chris and Nikki Boulet, Rebecca, Joshua, Emily, Megan, Jordan, and Zachery Breaux; five great grandchildren, Hillary, Haylie, Hollie, and Harlie Boulet and Jake Harris; three brothers, B.R. and Percy Breaux both of Rayne and Patrick Breaux of Baton Rouge.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Medice and Rita Alleman Breaux; two brothers, Edward and Dave Breaux; and one sister, Betty Breaux, one granddaughter Jennifer Harris.
Mr. Breaux was a member of the National Rifle Association, and the North American Fishing Club.
Visitation was Sunday July 6, 2003, From 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. and Monday from 8 a.m. until services. A Rosary was prayed Sunday at 7 p.m.
Burial was in the Indian Bayou Cemetery under the direction of Gossen Funeral Home of Rayne

Hilda Gootschald Griffin
CROWLEY –– Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 6, 2003, in the Lutheran Church, wiht the Rev. David Green officiating, for Hilda Gottschald Griffin, 81, of Crowley, who died Friday, July 4, 2003, at 12:01 a.m. at her daughter’s home in Branch.
Burial was in the Maxie Cemetery in Maxie.
She is survived by one son, Dr. Thomas E. Griffin III and wife Liz, DeRidder; four daughters, Paula Domingue and husband Ed Domingue, Slidell, Frieda and Prentiss Barousse, Branch, Myra and Roger Schwinn, Crowley, and Adela and John Prejean, Lafayette; 18 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Paul Gottschald and Roy Gottschald, both of Goliad, Texas .
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Frieda Gottschald of Goliad, Texas .
She retired from the Louisiana Department of Public Welfare after 28 years of service.
Duhon Funeral Home of Crowley was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Mary Pat Welter
CHIPPEWA FALLS, WIS. –– Mary Pat Welter, 54, of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, died peacefully in her sleep and surrounded by her family on July 3, 2003. She had been under the care of hospice, after a valiant three-year fight with cancer
Mary Pat was born in Milwaukee on May 31, 1949, to Donald J. and Kathryn Mae Welter.
After graduating from Shell Lake High School in 1967, she earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minnesota, in 1971.
She taught in elementary schools in Flint, Michigan and Stone Mountain, Georgia.
She married John Rogers on July 8, 1978 at Calloway Gardens, Georgia, and they lived near Atlanta, where she worked in the banking industry. Mary Pat enjoyed her travels to locations such as Banff, Salzburg, Hawaii, Micronesia, and Glacier National Park, the company and support of family and friends, and a cozy home on the edge of still waters which she found quiet and calming.
She was a graceful downhill skier, a loving sister and aunt, an avid reader and an eager collector of cookbooks and kitchen paraphernalia.
She is survived by two sisters, Nancy Nauer and Betsy Kelly, three brothers, John, Joseph, and Fritz, and by 15 nephews and nieces, whom she dearly loved. She was preceded in death by her parents. She will be greatly missed.
Timberlee Jade Pellerin
Timberlee Jade Pellerin, the 12-day-old daughter of Travis and Melissa Pellerin of Lafayette, died Monday, July 7, 2003, in Tulane Medical Center in New Orleans.
She is survived by her parents; a sister, McKay Pellerin of Lafayette; paternal grandparents, Jimmie and Charlene Pellerin of Rayne; maternal grandparents, Gene and Bea Alleman of Rayne; and a host of aunts and uncle. Visitation was observed Wednesday at Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne.

Lorraine Merritt Humble
HOUSTON, TEXAS –– Mrs. Lorraine Merritt Humble died peacefully Saturday, July 31, 2004
She was born in Branch, Louisiana , to Beulah and Ira Merritt.
She is survived by her devoted sons, James Hoyt Humble of Houston and Weldon G. Humble, Jr. of New York; her sister, Henrietta Bruner of Lafayette, Louisiana , and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Weldon G. Humble; her daughter, Linda Lorraine Humble; and a brother, Tommy Merritt.
A beauty queen during her college years, Lorraine was a graduate of University of Southwestern Louisiana in Lafayette. Lorraine met her future husband while she was attending USL, where he was in training as a United States Marine before serving overseas during World War II.
After the war, she came to Houston and taught at River Oaks Elementary School, while her new husband pursued his successful football career; first as an All-American at Rice University, and then as an All-Pro for the Cleveland Browns and Dallas Texans.
When Humble turned to banking, Lorraine busied herself with raising their three children and the happenings on Pamellia Drive and on Broken Bough.
Later she was employed at Stationers, Intl. and was co-owner of the Village Boutique for several years.
Known for her quick wit and effortless charm, Lorraine enjoyed a good book, playing the piano and being able to grow a perfect amaryllis. She was never happier than when she was holding a winning bridge hand and she will be missed by her coffee drinking bridge partners and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Lorraine's memory to Memorial Drive Baptist Church. Lorraine loved her church, and was a devoted member there for 45 years.

Emma Jane Gary
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 31, 2004, in the funeral home chapel, with Father Buddy Breaux officiating, for Emma Jane Gary, 68, of Rayne, who died at 12:20 p.m. Thursday, July 29, 2004, in the Rayne Guest Home.
A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m.Friday, July 30-, in the funeral home chapel.
Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery No. 2 in Rayne.
Visitation was observed Friday from 12 noon to 10 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. until time of services.
She is survived by eight sons, Paul Martin, Kenneth Martin and Allen Dale Martin, all of Youngsville, Terry Martin and Mervin Martin, both of Duson, and Leo Gary, Chester Credeur and Ivy Credeur, Jr., all of Rayne; two daughters, Wanda Martin, Opelousas, andMargaret Martin, California; 25 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, Taylor Martin, Hunter Malcom, Lance Martin, Christian Nicholas Delhomme; five brothers, Oran Credeur, and Andy Credeur, both of Duson, Gene Credeur, Rayne, Joe Credeur, Judice and Raymond Credeur, Louisiana ; and two sisters, Mary Thibodeaux, Duson, and Marjorie Trahan, Judice.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Joseph Gary; her parents, Dorothy Cormier; and two brothers, Eulis and Richard Credeur.
Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Oran Evans
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 31, 2004, in Cunningham C.M.E. Church, with the Rev. W.K. Rucker officiating, for Oran Evans, 73, of Rayne, who died at 5:05 a.m. Tuesday, July 27, 2004, at his residence.
A wake service was held at the church form 8 a.m. until time of the service.
Burial was in the Rayne Protestant Cemetery.
Mr. Evans was a retired truck driver.
He is survived by a son, Ron Carr, Jena; a daughter, Cynthia Marie Washington , Rayne; two brothers, Amos Evans and George Evans, Sr., both of Port Arthur, Texas ; a sister, Nettie Hazel Wycoff, Port Arthur, Texas ; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Final arrangements were entrusted to Frank Brothers Funeral Home of Eunice.

Eugene W. Bihm
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 27, 2004, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Eugene W. Bihm , 63, who died Sunday, July 25, 2004, at the American Legion Hospital in Crowley.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Robinson Bihm of Rayne; one son and his wife, Matthew and Jeanette Bihm of Rayne; two daughters and their husbands, Valarie and Dwayne Roy of Shreveport La., and Tracie and Jamie Broussard, of Lake Charles; two grandchildren, Drew and Taylor Roy of Shreveport La.; two brothers, Frederick and his wife, Claudette Bihm of Rayne, and Troy Bihm of Phoenix, Arizona; two sisters, Madeline McCaleb of Baton Rouge, and Beth and her husband David Waxman of Jasper Texas .
He was precededed in death by his parents, Leroy and Louisa Schumacher Bihm, and one brother, Rankin Bihm.
He was Deputy Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council Sts. Peter & Paul #7568, and a Eucharistic minister at St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was a past member of the Rayne Civil Defense with a rank of lieutenant, Rayne Jaycees, Grand Knight of Council 1897 (two terms), Boy Scout and Cub Scout Leader, and also a T-Ball coach.
Before retirement, Mr. Bihm was employed by Body Masters for 14 years. He owned and operated Dixie Farm Supply. At the time of his death, he was a part-time Winn Dixie associate in Rayne.
Pallbearers were his son Matthew Bihm, Reno Leblanc, Lionel Boudreaux, his son-in-law Jamie Broussard, his grandson Drew Roy, and his brother Fredrick Bihm.
Honorary pallbearers were John Bihm, David Waxman, and Brett Hoffpauir.
Visitation was Monday from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. and Tuesday from 8 a.m. until services.
A Rosary was recited Monday evening at 6:30 p.m.
Burial was in the St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of Gossen Funeral Home of Rayne.
