Beulah Simon
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 23, 2004, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Father Buddy Breaux officiating, for Beulah Simon, 86, who died at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 21, 2004, in American Legion Hospital in Crowley.
A long time resident of Rayne, she was residing at the Southwind Guest Home in Crowley at the time of her death.
A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel.
Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery No. 2. in Rayne.
She is survived by two sisters and their spouses, Bernice and Inson John Simon, Kaplan, and Veda and John Davis of Maurice; one brother and his wife, Andrus and Vera Simon, of Rayne; one sister-in-law, Elsie (Lou) Simon, Sulphur; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Adonia Simon; two brothers, Sidney and Whitney Simon; and two sisters, Agnes Simon and Evelyn Trahan.
Ms. Simon had no children, but she was very much loved by her many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Jeremy Lavergne, Lester Simon, Blake Simon, Wayne Constantin, Ray Constantin and Teddy Simon.
Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne was in charge of the arrangements.

Thomas Olivier
Memorial services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 21, 2004, with Rev. Mr. Bryan Winn officiating in the funeral home chapel for Thomas Olivier, 86, of Church Point.
A private viewing for the immediate family was held from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m.
Mr. Olivier died Monday, July 19, 2004, at 3:05 p.m. in Acadia-St. Landry Hospital in Church Point.
He is survived by one daughter and her spouse, Donna and Michael Guidry, Church Point; two sons, John Olivier and Kenneth Olivier, both of New Iberia; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Mr. Olivier wsa a farmer for many years. He was a rice farmer in the Chataignier Community for many years. After retiring from farming, he open a grocery story in the Pitreville Community for several years until the death of his wife. He came to the Church Point Community and opened a farm equipment business called Olivier Farm Equipment until he retired at the age of 65.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Aurelia Lejeune Olivier; one son, Thomas Clinton Olivier; his parents, Olive Latiolais and Eugene Olivier; five brothers, Dewey, Noah, Eugene, Vorice and Gabriel Olivier; and five sisters, Dewell Miller, Lucy Savoy Chachere, Ledeana Olivier, Odile Miller and Lena Guidry.
Duhon Funeral Home of Church Point was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Charles Solomon
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 25, 2004, in Starlight Baptist Church of Rayne, with the Rev. Mack Crayton officiating for Charles Solomon, 32, of Rayne, who died on July 17, 2004, in Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.
Burial was in the South Crowley Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Solomon of Rayne; his mother, Hilda S. Boudreaux, Crowley; father, Charles Christian, Lafayette; daughters, Shakiyla Solomon, Sulphur, Charlesa Solomon, Crowley, and Angel Solomon, Rayne; a son, Charles Solomon, Jr., Rayne; two sisters, Trellis Marks and Starshema, both of Crowley; five brothers, Wilson Marks, Crowley, Desmond Senegal, DeMarcus Senegal, Charleston Senegal and Donal Senegal, all of Lafayette; and a grandfather, Edward Solomon, Crowley.
Owens-Thomas Funeral Home of Crowley was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Eunice G. Duhon
Funeral services held Saturday, July 24, 2004, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Eunice Guidry Duhon, 96, who died Thursday, July 22, 2004, at Medical Center of Southwest.
Survivors include one son, Calvin J. and his wife Audrey S. Duhon of Lafayette; two daughters, Bernida D. and her husband Elmo Hebert of Lafayette, and Maudra Labbe Duhon of Duson; and a daughter-in-law, Dorothy L. Duhon; and sister-in-law, Beverly Jagneaux; 18 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Duhon was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Duhon; her parents, Edmond and Elodie Gary Guidry; one son, Maxson J. Duhon, and one brother, Lennis Guidry and one son-in-law, Leo Labbe.
Pallbearers were Jasper and Carl Labbe, Bryan and Michael Duhon, Christopher Meyers, and Grady Petry.
Honorary pallbearer was David Duhon.
Visitation Friday, July 23, 2004, from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m., and Friday from 8:00 a.m. until services.
Burial was in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Gossen Funeral Home of Rayne.

William Charles Crappell
Funeral services were held on Moniday, July 26, 2004, at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel in Crowley, with Brother John Hunter officiating, for William Charles Crappell, 81, of Branch, who died at 2:30 a.m. Sunday, July 25, 2004, in Southwind Nursing Home in Crowley.
He is survived by his wife, Virgie Crappell, Branch; two daughters, Stephanie Bertrand, Branch, and Subrena Crappell, Houston, Texas ; one son, Stephen Crappell, Lafayette; one brother, Burgen Crappell, Morgan City; five sisters, Eula Champagne, Tomball, Texas , Stella Roe, Lake Jackson , Texas , Lucille Dardar, Louise Daigle and Shirley Scadlock, all of Morgan City; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Medora Lovell and Alex Crappell; one sister, Vivian Young; and three brothers, Wilbert, Wilton and Preston Crappell.
A baptized servant of Jehovah since 1954, he was a member of the Crowley Congregation of Jehovah Witnesses.
Duhon Funeral Home of Crowley was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Anna Mae Prejean Alleman
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 29, 2004, at 10:30 a.m. at Assumption Catholic Church in Mire for Anna Mae Prejean Alleman, 65, who died Tuesday, July 27, 2004.
Survivors include four sons, Calvin Thibodeaux of Mire, Gene Alleman of Rayne, Dale Alleman of Duson, and Bobby Alleman of Rayne; two daughters, Peggy A. Hebert of Rayne and Debra A. Foreman of Mire; two brothers, Curley and Vicky Prejean, both of Carencro; one sister, Violette Prejean of Texas ; and 11 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Spurgen “Keno” Alleman; her parents, Polite and Evelyn Vincent Prejean; two brothers and one sister.
Mrs. Alleman fought a four year long and courageous battle with cancer.
Visitation was Wednesday from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. with a Rosary recited at 7 p.m. Visitation continued Thursday at 8:00 a.m. until services.
Burial will be in the Assumption Catholic Church under the direction of Gossen Funeral Home of Rayne.

Enorman J. Hanks, Sr.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 27, 2004, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Enorman J. Hanks Sr., 75, who died Saturday, July 24, 2004, at the American Legion Hospital in Crowley.
Survivors include his wife, Annie Bates Hanks of Rayne; three daughters and their husbands, Vicki and James Hernandez of Rayne, Linda and Willard Foreman of Delcambre, and Josette and Donnie Venable of Rayne; two sons and their wives, Randy and Chyrel Hanks of Rayne, and Enorman Jr. and Stephanie Hanks of Pensacola, Florida; one sister, Neomie Hanks Sonnier of Rayne; 13 Grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Hanks was preceded in death by his parents, Ovillia and Josette Guidry Hanks; one son, Jackie Hanks; one brother, Nolan Hank; and one sister, Hilda Junot.
He was a member of the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus.
Burial was in the St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of Gossen Funeral Home of Rayne.

James Trent Hollier
A memorial service was held Wednesday, July 21, 2004 at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Mr. Bryan Winn officiating, for James Trent Hollier, 54, of Church Point.
Mr. Hollier died at 8:38 a.m. Monday, July 19, 2004, in Morgan City.
He is survived by a companion of 15 years, Charlene Roger, Church Point; one son, Shane Hollier, Maurice; two daughters, Brandy Hollier, Youngsville, and Nikki Hollier, Church Point; one sister, Diane Lampman, Toledo Bend; and one grandson, Hunter Hollier, Maurice.
Mr. Hollier was a graduate of Lafayette High School. He was an avid fisherman and football fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernell Breeding and Warren Hollier.
Duhon Funeral Home of Church Point was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Gilbert J. Domingue
A special memorial service, celebrating the life of Gilbert J. Domingue, will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 1, 2004, in the Rayne Guest Home. Sunday which would have been his 69th birthday. The service will allow his “family” there to participate. Family and friends are invited to attend the memorial.
Mr. Domingue died on Saturday, July 3, 2004, at the Rayne Guest Home where he resided for many years.

Casey Cahanin
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 22, 2004, in the funeral home chapel, with Father Buddy Breaux officiating, for Casey Cahanin, 13, of Rayne, who died suddenly Tuesday, April 20, 2004, at his home.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery No. 2 in Rayne.
Visitation will be observed Wednesday from 2 to 10 p.m. and Thursday from 8 a.m. to until time of services.
A rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 21, 2004, in the funeral home chapel.
He is survived by his parents, Kathy and Malcolm Cahanin of Rayne; three brothers, Skylar Cahanin, Thylar Cahanin, and Christopher Cahanin, all of Rayne; paternal grandparents, Leroy and Annie Cahanin, Rayne; maternal grandmother, Barbara Marceaux, Midland; and step-grandfather, Aubrey Marceaux, Midland.
Casey attended Armstrong Middle School in Rayne. He liked to skateboard and play drums with his friends.

Ray Daniel Adams
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 21, 2004, in the Church Point Duhon Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Berl Adams officiating, for Ray Daniel Adams, 83, of Church Point, who died at 11:40 p.m. Sunday, July 18, 2004, in Opelousas General Hospital.
Burial was in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church in Church Point.
He is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Ardys and Harvey Duplechin, Church Point, and Sarah and James Fann, Kenai, Alaska; three grandchildren, Alex Duplcehin, Andrew Duplechin, and Andrea M. Duplechin; and a former wife, Rose Marie Horecky Adams, Opelousas.
Mr. Adams was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Oza Adams and one brother, Roy Adams.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the American Kidney Association or a favorite charity.
Duhon Funeral Home of Church Point was in charge of funeral arrangements.
