Sister Mary Hyacinth Breaux
Sister M. Hyacinth Breaux, a Sister of Mount Carmel, died July 10, 2004, at Our Lady of Wisdom Health Care Center. She was 95 years old and in the 77th year of her religious profession.
Sister Hyacinth was born Inez Breaux on Nov. 20, 1908 to Felias Numa Breaux and Clarice Broussard in Loreauville, LA. She entered the Congregation of Our Lady of Mount Carmel on Sept. 9, 1924, and received the habit of the Sisters of Mount Carmel Aug. 6, 1925. On Aug. 6, 1927, she made her first profession, and pronounced perpetual vows Aug. 4, 1932.
Sister Hyacinth Breaux taught from 1927 to 1957 at parochial and Mount Carmel schools in Abbeville, Lafayette, New Iberia, New Orleans (St. Dominic, St. James Major, and St. Augustine), Rayne and Thibodaux, LA.
From 1957 to 1988, she served as a librarian at Mount Carmel Academy in New Orleans, remaining there as a consultant and volunteer until 1997. She also served as archivist for the Congregation from 1973-1997. She was instrumental in preserving and restoring archive materials after the flood of May, 1995 in Lacombe, La. and in moving them to the Motherhouse in New Orleans. She was the assistant archivist until her death.
Sister Hyacinth graduated from Mount Carmel Academy in 1925. She earned a Bachelor of Philosophy degree from Loyola University, New Orleans in 1936. She received her teacher’s certificate in 1936 from the Louisiana State Department of Education. She received her Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Library Science from Our Lady of the Lake in San Antonio, Texas , in 1948. In 1971 she received her MS in Library Science from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. In 2002 she celebrated her 75th jubilee of vows.
Sister Hyacinth Breaux, the third of seven children, was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Sadie Breaux and Candide Breaux and brother, Joseph Breaux.
She is survived by two sisters: Irene Breaux David of Opelousas, and Angeline Breaux Robertson of Cypress, Texas , and one brother: Allen Breaux of New Iberia.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in New Orleans at the Mount Carmel Motherhouse chapel on July 13, 2004, followed by interment in St. Louis No. 3 Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Mount Carmel Retirement Fund, P.O. Box 1160, Lacombe, LA 70445, are preferred.

Alberta Comeaux Seaux
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 13, 2004, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Father Buddy Breaux officiating, for Alberta Comeaux Seaux, 64, of Duson, who died Sunday, July 11, 2004, at 2:30 a.m. in her Duson home.
A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. Monday, July 12, in the funeral home chapel.
Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery No. 2 in Rayne.
She is survived by her husband, John Edwell Seaux, Judice; two sons, David Seaux and his wife, Pamela, of Duson, and Shane Seaux of Judice; one daughter, Jarmaine Jay Sonnier and her husband Dwane, of Scott; and two grandchildren, Brittany and Jacob Seaux, Duson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Gustave and Mrs. Noemie Comeaux.
Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne was in charge of funeral arrangements.

J. Roy Larive
A memorial service will be announced at a later time for J. Roy Larive, 64, of Sulphur, who died at 12 a.m. Sunday, July 111, 2004, at his residence.
He is survived by his mother, Bridget Larvi, Crowley; one sister, Barbara L. Hanks, Crowley; two brothers, Carroll Larive, Sulphur, and J.L. Larive, Tulsa, Okla., and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Larive was preceded in death by his father, Roy Larive, one niece, Francine Larive Cowls, two nephews, Harold Larive and Douglas Dronet; his maternal grandparents, Archille Winn and Perron Robin and his paternal grandparents, Louis Lavrive and Helena Cahanin.
Duhon Funeral Home of Crowley was in charge of funeral arrangement.

Larry Dale Hoffpauir
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m.Wednesday, July 14, 2004, in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel here, with the Rev. Vanm Hoffpauir officiating, for Larry Dale Hoffpauir, 56, of Crowley, who died at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, July 11, 2004, in the Crowley Guest Home.
Burial was in the Indian Bayou Methodist Cemetery.
He is survived by one son, Anthony Hoffpauir, Florida; his father, Cedric Hoffpauir, Duson, and one brother, the Rev. Van Hoffpauir, Duson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Johnston, and his mother,. Anez Hoffpauir.

Thomas Hilton Figaro
OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLA. –– Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 10, 2004, with Dr. J.H. Tucker officiating, for Thomas Hilton Figaro, Jr., who died July 4, 2004, in the Earl M. Temple Memorial Chapel in Oklahoma City, Okla.
Burial was in Resurrection Memorial Cemetery there, under the direction of Temple and Sons Funeral Directors, Inc.
Mr. Figaro was born May 10, 1952 in Lafayette to Thomas Hilton Figaro, Sr., and Joyce Marie Figaro.
He worked as a skycap for TWA Airlines, an occupation he treasured.
He is survived by a daughter, Tezlyn Figaro-Turner of Dallas, Texas ; a son-in-law, Jesfus Turner of Dallas; his father, Thomas Hilton Figaro, Sr., of Oklahoma City; a sister, Ella Mrs. Johon (Faye) Figaro-Scott of Oklahoma City; a brother, Daniel Ray Figaro and sister-in-law Carolyn Figaro of Houston, Texas ; brothers, Steven and Kirkland Figaro, both of Oklahoma City; a special friend, Juanita Hinton; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Marie Figaro; a son, Kareem Yamone Figaro; maternal grandparents, John and Ella Julian; paternal grandparents, Harold and Anita Figaro; and a nephew, Daniel Figaro, Jr.
Pallbearers were Anthony Figaro, Don Davis, Elmer Crumbley, Geon Figaro, Carl Hill and Bobby Johnson . Honorary pallbearers were Oscar Figaro, Bennett Figaro, Shawn Hill, Daniel Ray Figaro, Kirkland Figaro and Steven Figaro.

Lucille F. Thomas
Funeral services held Saturday July 3, 2004, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Lucille F. Thomas, 73, who died Thursday July 1, 2004 at Lafayette General Hospital.
Survivors include one son, Jay Thomas of Houston Texas ; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Chester W. Thomas; her parents; Julian and Agnes McGee Fontenot; sister, Anna Mae Cole; and three brothers Loney, Claude, and Leneuse Fontenot.
Burial was held in Rosewood Cemetery in Humble Texas under the direction of Gossen Funeral Home.

Marie B. Miller
Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 7, 2004, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Marie B. Miller, 91, who died Monday July 5, 2004 at the Rayne Guest Home.
Survivors include one daughter, Betty M. Latiolais of Rayne; one grandson and his wife, Gregory and Angelina Latiolais of Rayne; three sisters, Addie B. LeBlanc , of Duson, Beulah B. Abshire, Lake Charles, Helen B. Weber of Rayne.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Miller, grandson, Joseph Jude Latiolais, her parents Simeon, and Elise Sonnier Brasseaux, five brothers Aristile, Ophie, Andres, Whitney, and Joseph Brasseaux; two sisters Edmae B. Comeaux, and Yolande B. Miller, her son-in-law Ewel J. Latiolais.
Burial was in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Gossen Fun eral Home of Rayne.

Caroline Bollich Zaunbrecher
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 2, 2004, at St. Michael's Catholic Church for Annie Caroline Bollich Zaunbrecher, 98, who died June 29, 2004, at Southwind Nursing Home.
Fr. Gary Schexnayder officiatedfor the services.
interment was in Woodlawn Mausoleum.
She is survived by four daughters, Vera Jabusch and her husband Frank of Egan, Steila Doucet and her husband James of Houma, Louise Caffery of Crowley, and Suzanne Duncan of Crowley; two sons, James "Jim" Zaunbrecher and his wife Helen of Crowley, and Leonard "Doc" Zaunbrecher and his wife Charlotte of Crowley; thirty-six grandchildren; seventy-live great-grand children; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Zaunbrecher is preceded in death by her husband, Henry Zaunbrecher; one daughter, Lorraine Gordon; two sons, Leroy and Dennis Zaunbrecher; three sisters, Marcella Frey, Thelma Lejeune, and Clara Bollich; six brothers, Frank, Jr., Albert, Charles, Edward, Leonard, and Raymond Bollich.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael's Elementary 805 E. Northern Ave. Crowley, LA 70526 and Hospice of Acadiana 2600 Johnston St. Suite 200 Lafayette, LA 70503,

Mary Evelyn Martin
Memorial services will be held at a later date for Mary Evelyn Martin, 64, of Crowley, who died at 10:43 Tuesday, June 29, 2004, in American Legion Hospital in Crowley.
She is survived by three sons, Charles Clark, Crowley, John Clark, Pensacola, Fla., and Joel Clark, Biloxi, Miss.; one sister, Patty Bodkin; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Ms. Martin was preceded in death by a son, James Clark; her parents, Earl and Eula Mae Bartlett Newman; and one brother, Richard Newman.
Duhon Funeral Home of Crowley was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Geneva (Sis) Fontenot
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 5, 2004, in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel, with Father Buddy Breaux officiating, for Geneva (Sis) Fontenot, 83, of Estherwood, who dided at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, July 3, 2004, in Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.
She is survived by one daughter, Jeannell Fontenot Schexnider and her husband Rodney Schexnider of Estherwood; one son, Verlin Fontenot and his wife, Bonnie, of Gueydan; four grandchildren, Sean Schexnider and fiance Meredith Soileau, Egan; Edy Darlene Fontenot Karakos and husband Steven Karakos, Sealy, Texas , Shelley Fontenot Breaux and her husband, Alan Breaux, Rayne, and Kayla Fontenot Breaux and her husband, Ted Breaux, Rayne; five great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gilbert Guillory of Morse and T.L. Guillory of Crowley.
Mrs. Fontenot, better known as Sis, was born in Estherwood on Oct. 16, 1920 to the late Dominic Guillory, Sr., and Herbatine Lejeune of Estherwood.
Mrs. Fontenot was a native of Estherwood but lived and farmed in the rural Gueydan area from 1956 to 1983.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alton “Tanny” Fontenot; two brothers, M.L. Guillory and Dominic Guillory, Jr.; three sisters, Helen Guillory, Lauran G., Redlich, and Jeannette G. Hanks.

Hyacinth Jobe
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 3, 2004, in the Parkerson Baptist Church in Crowley, with Brother L.C. Lord and Brother Ernest Topher officiating, for Hyacinth Jobe, 74, of Crowley, who died at 3:25 p.m. Wednesday, June 30, 2004, in Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Burl Jobe, Crowley; one son, B.L. Jobe, Crowley; one daughter and husband, Kathleen and Horace Legros, Prairieville; two sisters and their husbands, Nelver and Floyd Breaux, Lafayette, and Ruth and Herbert Davis, Baker; one brother, and his wife, Paul and Mary Lou Creighton, Central; five grandchldren, Peter and Alice Legros, Troy Legros, Amy Legros, April Jobe and Andre Jobe; four great-grandchildren, Lylee Legros, Nadia Tonguis, Brandon Ellis and J.J. Ellis; and a daughter-in-law, Gayle Jobe, Youngsville.
She was preceded in death by her son, John Robert Jobe; her parents, Hyacinth and Clifton Creighton; one brother, Clifton (Buddy) Creighton. She was a member of the Parkerson Avenue Baptist Church in Crowley for 52 years. She belonged to the Eastern Star and Rebecca.
