Trampas Terwillegar
NEWPORT NEW, VA Trampas Terwillegar, 26, died Tuesday, March 23, 2004, in a helicopter accident in the Gulf of Mexico. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 30, 2004, at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Denbigh.
The Rev. Wes Taylor and Dr. Fred King conducted the services.
interment followed at Hampton Veterans Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Terwilleagar was a longtime resident of Rayne and employed by Offshore Energy Services. He was a native of Fort Hood, Texas .
Mr. Twerwlleagar is survived by his brother, Joshua Shawn Terwillegar and his wife, Tonya; their children, Gunnar and Haidee; his sweetheart, Regan Richard and her son, Logan Young; maternal grandmother, Mary L. Kellum, of Newport News, Va.; paternal grandparents, Ron and Shirley Guild, of Napa, Idaho; aunts, Sharon Dryer and family, of Kill Devil Hills, N.C.. Maru Fox and family, of Virginia Beach, Va.; his uncle, Bill and aunt JoAnne and family, of Newport News, Va.; and uncle John Guild and family of Napa, Idaho.
He was preceded in death by his parents, DeWayne and Donna Terwillegar; and his maternal grandfather, William G. Kellum, J.r.
Peninsula Funeral Home of Newport News, Va., was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Percy Richard
Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 30, 2004, in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel, with Father Rusty Richard officiating, for Percy Richard, 67, of Crowley, who died Sunday, March 28, 2004, at 1:45 p.m. in the Crowley Guest Home.
A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery in Crowley.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Richard, Crowley; one son and his wife, Ronald J. and Lucita (Lucky) Richard, of Crowley; one daughter and her husband, Madonna and Ronald Perry, Crowley; four brothers, Howard Richard, Murphy Richard, Antoine Richard, Jr., and Harry Richard, all of Crowley; three sisters, Agnes Castille, Rayne, and Dorothy Stutes and Jenelle Moore, both of Crowley; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Mr. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Antoine and Eunice Richard, Sr.; and one sister, Dorothy Marie Richard.
He loved his music and loved playing his accordion. For 46 years, he would plant a garden and shared his vegetables with everyone. He was loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be sadly missed.
Duhon Funeral Home of Crowley is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Mary Natka Melancon Stewart
CR0WLEY - “For I am ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:6-7.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 30, at 11 a.m. at Duhon Funeral Home Chapel, for Mary Natka Melancon Stewart, 77, who Passed away Sunday, March 28, 2004, at Lafayette General Medical Center.
interment was in Maxie Cemetery. Father Ken Broussard, relative of Mrs. Stewart and assistant pastor of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in New Iberia, officiated at the services.
Mrs. Stewart was native and life long resident of Crowley. Her life was filled with love and devotion to her family, friends, and her Catholic faith. This was very evident to all who knew her. Her life revolved around seeing to the needs of others before those of her own. Her special love was providing large meals at holidays and special occasions so that she could visit with her many friends and family. She has left behind a treasure trove of fond memories for those who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her husband of sixty-three years, Amos Stewart of Crowley; two daughters, Patricia Whitley and her husband Don of Bossier City and Rebecca Stewart of Crowley; one grandson Tye Christopher Whitley and his wife, Michelle; their daughter (Old Maw Maw’s special angel) Jillian of Lake Charles; one sister, Naomi Meyers of Crowley; two brothers, Jimmy Melancon and his wife, Carol, and Sheriff-Elect Wayne Melancon and his wife, Charlene. Also included for their love of Mrs. Stewart were foreign exchange students of Don and Patricia Whitley, Elena Bakcheeva of Russia, Dusan Nogulovic of Yugoslavia, Eliana and Paula Posada of Columbia, South America. They affectionately referred to Mrs. Stewart as “Maw Maw”.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Antoine and Clara Chaisson Melancon, and one brother, Rev. Robert Melancon.
Pallbearers were as follows: Wayne Melancon, Beanie Melancon, Dale Melancon, Larry Broussard, Tye Christopher Whitley, and Christopher Melancon.
Honorary pallbearers were as follows: Jimmy Melancon, Brent Stewart, Charles Broussard, Wendell Wyatt. Darwin Hayes, and Gene Stewart. Duhon Funeral Home of Crowley was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Louis Pellerin
Funeral services were held Friday, March 19, 2004, at a 1 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial in the Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Scott for Louis Pellerin, age 88, who died Wednesday, March 17, 2004, at 5:59 a.m. in the Medical Center of Southwest Louisiana .
Entombment was in the Sts. Peter & Paul Mausoleum.
The Rev. Gilbert Dutel, pastor of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, was the celebrant of the Funeral Mass and conducted the services. Lectors were Angie Nero, Pam Denais and Mel Guidry. Giftbearers were his great grandchildren.
Ron Moreau, accompanied on the organ by Phyllis Simar, sang for the services, “Just A Closer Walk With Thee”, “J‚irai la voir un jour”, “On Eagles‚ Wings”, “Be Not Afraid” and “The Old Rugged Cross”.
Survivors include his wife, Anna Mae Boudreaux Pellerin, of Lafayette; one son, Charles Rodney Pellerin and his wife, Gloria Winn, of Scott; three granddaughters, Angie Nero and her husband, Timmy, Mel Guidry and her husband, Troy and Pam Denais and her husband, Todd; six great grandchildren, Lauren Pellerin, Leah Guidry, Garrett Guidry, Cutter Denais, and Wyatt and Joel Nero; and one brother, Elus Pellerin and his wife, Mable.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dartiette and Emma Meche Pellerin; one daughter, Judy Vincent; two grandsons, Charles Kevin Pellerin and Chadwick Lewis Pellerin; two sisters, Zula Mae Guidry and Alma Mier; and three brothers, Amos, Lloyd and Leroy Pellerin.
A native of Church Point and a lifelong resident of Scott, Mr. Pellerin was a member of the Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Community in Scott.
Prior to his retirement he was employed by the State of Louisiana Department of Highway for 22 years.
A rosary was prayed Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Martin & Castille Funeral Home in Scott.
Arrangements were entrusted to Martin & Castille Funeral Home, Inc. of Scott.

Wayne Alleman
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m.Friday, March 19, 2004, in St. Peter &Paul Catholic Church in Scott, with Father Gil Dutel officiating, for Wayne Alleman, 24, who died at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 17, 2004, in his Scott home.
A rosary was recited at 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel.
Burial was in St. Peter &St. Paul Cemetery in Scott.
He is survived by his father and mom, Darrell and Theresa Alleman, Scott; mother, Jean Michele, Carencro; one brother, Chad Alleman, Scott; paternal grandparents, Leroy and Sybil Alleman, Duson; maternal grandmother, Rita Babineaux, Lafayette; maternal grandmother, Grace Boutte, Lafayette; aunts and uncles, Carson and Pricilla Alleman, Patrick and Windy Alleman, Francis and Eva Touchet, Robert and Bella Clotheaux, Alphe and Jeanette Lavergne, Vicky and Haitham Mohammed, and Mike and Brenda Benoit.
He attended Acadiana High School. He was an avid fisherman and loved motorcycles. He was a loving and caring person who never could tell anyone he could not help them.

Willie Floyd Senegal
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 27, 2004, at 2 p.m. at Starlight Baptist Church for Mr. Willie Floyd Senegal, 77, who died Monday, March 22, 2004, at 8:43 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.
The Rev. Mack Crayton will be the officiant of the services.
interment will be in Our Mother of Mercy ChurchCemetery.
A lifelong resident of Rayne, he was retired head custodian at Armstrong Middle School and was a self-employed bail bondsman and businessman.
He is survived by his wife, Theresa Guidry Senegal of Rayne; four sons, Sanders J. (Verna) Senegal, Nolton J. (Patricia Senegal, and Robert J. (Marie) Senegal, all of Rayne, and Herbert J. (Faye) Semegal of San Diego, Calif.; one daughter, Gracia P. Senegal (Austin)of Rayne; one sister, Legia Beverely of Rayne; and a favorite cousin, Willis Coleman, of Galveston, Texas . He is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, along with a host of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Pearly B. Domingue, father, Mayo Senegal; sons, Willie J. Senegal, Sr., Archie J. Senegal, Sr., and Travis J. Senegal, Sr.; a brother, Nelson Senegal; a sister, Willie Lee Smith; and grandchildren, Jonathan Keith Harmon and Tanisha Magdelene Senegal.
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 27, at Starlight Baptist Church from 9 a.m. until time of services.
Syrie Funeral Home of Lafayette is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Howard Lantier
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 13, 2004, at 11 a.m. at Assumption Catholic Church for Howard Lantier, 83, who died Thursday, March 11, 2004, at his residence in Mire.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 64 years, Louetta Breaux Lantier of Mire; five daughters, Mrs. Ricks “Barbara L.” Comeaux of Rayne, Ms. Sapha L. Richard of Mire, Mrs. Patrick “Beverly L.” Leger of Mire, Mrs. Joe “Erleen L. “ Avelino of Houston, and Mrs. Charles “Patsy L.” Bienvenu of The Woodlands, Texas ; one sister, Mildred L. Rourk of Sulphur; 10 grandchildren, David and his wife Rhonda Comeaux , Andrea Comeaux, Allison Comeaux, Jason Ricks and his wife Rebecca , Jeremy Monceaux, Rachael and her husband Chip Deviller, Kristi and her husband Todd Benoit, Chuck Bienvenu, Christine Bienvenu, and Steven Bienvenu; six great-grandchildren, Aimee Deviller, Zachery Comeaux, Jaelynn Comeaux, Blade Leger, Nicholas Benoit, Ethan Comeaux, and Caleb Comeaux.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mentor and Erise Richard Lantier; one grandson, Jon Ryan Monceaux, two sisters, Hilda L. Doguet, and Agnes “Noon” L. Hernandez Fontenot.
Howard was a member of the American Legion Post 77 of Rayne, VFW Post 9822 of Judice, and he was also an usher at Assumption Catholic Church for over 50 years. He also did volunteer work for the Mire Volunteer Fire Department.
He was employed by Gossen Construction Co. Trappy Foods, Barber Brothers, and was also a retired farmer growing cotton, corn, potatoes, and raised cattle.
He was a member of the U.S. Army during WWII and was stationed in Greenland.
A Rosary was recited Friday evening at 7 p.m.
Burial was in the Assumption Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Gossen Funeral Home of Rayne.

Edmonia LeBlanc
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 11, 2004, in St. Theresa Church, with Father Martin Leonards officiating, for Edmonia LeBlanc , 91, of Crowley.
Mrs. LeBlanc died at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, March 10, in the Crowley Guest Home.
A rosary was recited Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Life Center in Duson.
She is survived by one daughter, Mae Ruth LeBlanc of Crowley, and one brother, William Aucoin of Washington , La.
She was a native of Duson and a resident of Crowley.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gladu LeBlanc ; her parents, Marie Chaisson and Eugenus Aucoin; three sisters; and three brothers.
Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Joseph Schexnider
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 12, 2004, in Our Mother of Mercy Church, with Father Richard Wagner, S.S.J. officiating, for Joseph Schexnider, 74, of Rayne, who died Tuesday, March 9, 2004, at 11:38 a.m. at Meadow Brook Rehab in Lafayette.
He is survived by his adopted mother, Lucille Senegal of Rayne, and two adopted sisters, Rosa Mae Granger and Jane Logan, both of Rayne.
Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne was in charge of funeral arrangements.
