Anna Langley
Funeral services were held Sunday, May 18, 2003, at 1 p.m. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel, with Father Bill Ruskoski officiating, for Anna Langley, 84, of Rayne who died Saturday, May 17, 2003, at 3:45 a.m. in the Rayne Guest Home.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Saturday.
Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery No. 2.
She is survived by one son, Douglas Langley, Rayne; four daughters, Norma Duhon, Ruth Meche, Brenda Delhomme and Sandra Credeur, all of Rayne; one sister, Winnie Benoit, Lake Charles; 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Langley; her parents, Zula Mae Richard and Alexandria Comeaux; four brothers, Wilbert, Nelson, Harmon and Eudy Comeaux; and two sisters, Lelia Fontenot and Hilda Lognion. Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne was in charge of arrangements.

Shirley Venable
CHURCH POINT –– Funeral services were held Saturday, May 17, 2003, at 1 p.m. in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, with Father Nicki Trahan officiating, for Shirley Venable, 67, of Church Point, who died Thursday, May 15, 2003, at 3:30 a.m. in the Acadia-St. Landry Hospital.
She is survived by two sons and their wives, Mark and Wendy Venable and Brian and Donna Venable, all of Church Point; two sisters, Irma Carr, Michigan, Alice Byrd, Illinois; Marge Close, Michigan; and Helen Zychowicz, Ohio; one brother, Otto Lemke, Arizona; and three grandchildren.
Ms. Venable was preceded in death by her husband, Dallas Venable; her parents, John and Mary Lemke; three sisters; and two brothers.
Duhon Funeral Home of Church Point was ain charge of arrangements.

Gladys Romero Leger
Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 20,2003, at 10 a.m. in the St. Joseph Catholic Church for Gladys Romero Leger, 90, who died Sunday, May 18, 2003, at the Crowley American Legion Hospital.
Survivors include three sons, William Leger, Calise Leger Jr., and Kenneth Leger all of Rayne; one daughter, Geraldine L. Domingue of Egan; 15 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren.
Mrs Leger was preceded in death by her husband, Calise Leger Sr.; one son, Uda Roy Leger; three brothers; and one sister.
Burial was in the St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of Gossen Funeral Home of Rayne.

Carla Jenise Salter
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 20, 2003, at Gossen Funeral Home Chapel for Carla Jenise Salter, 31, who died Wednesday, May 14, 2003 at Medical Center of Southwest La. in Lafayette.
interment was in Rayne Inc. Cemetery.
Survivors include her parents, James and Isabelle Villery Salter, of Baton Rouge; two sisters, Catherine Salter, of Baton Rouge, Mary Darbonne, of Lake Charles.
Arrangements had been entrusted to Gossen Funeral Home Inc. of Rayne.

Harvey Walter Arceneaux
CROWLEY –– Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 22, 2003, for Harvey Walter Arceneaux, 73, of Crowley, who died at 10:30 p.m. in the Crowley Guest Home.
Burial will be in the Maxie Cemetery in Maxie.
Mr. Arceneaux is survived by one brother, Ervin Arceneaux, Church Point; three nephews, Wendell Smith, Eunice, William Smith, Baton Rouge, and Ray Larson, Starks; four nieces, Mona Hoffpauir, Church Point; Brenda Jenkins, Walker, Linda Hampton, Mobile, Ala., and Sharon Black, Georgia; and a special companion, Azelia Breaux, Crowley.
Mr. Arceneaux was preceded in death by his parnets, Walter and Fannie Arceneaux; three sisters, Beatrice Smith, Verna Mae Smith, and Florine Arceneaux.
He served in the United States National Guard for six years.
Duhon Funeral Home of Crowley was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Archie Joseph Senegal, Sr.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 10, 2003, at 10:30 a.m. at the Shrine of Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church for Archie Joseph Senegal, Sr., 56, who died at 6:15 p.m. on Monday, May 5, 2003, at the home of his daughter.
The Rev. Richard Wagner, S.S.J., pastor of The Shrine of Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church, officiated at the service.
interment was in the church cemetery.
Mr. Senegal was a life-long resident of Rayne. He worked for R.E. Heidt for a number of years, and later worked at Lafayette Regional ( Louisiana Technical College of Lafayette).
He leaves to cherish his memory a devoted wife, daughter and grandson: Lillian Breaux Senegal, Latanya Senegal and Dillon Charlot; three sons, Archie Jr. (Stephanie), Jared, and Marcus; nine grandchildren, his mother and father, Theresa G. Senegal and Willie Floyd Senegal; one sister, Gracia P. Senegal (Austin); four brothers, Sanders (Verna), Hebert (Faye), Nolton (Patricia) and Robert (Marie) Senegal; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters-in-law and friends.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Willie J. Senegal, Sr., and Travis J. Senegal, Sr., and one nephew, Jonathan Keith Harmon.
Syrie Funeral Home, Inc. of Lafayette was in charge of arrangements.

Beatrice Dugas Alleman
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial, Tuesday, May 13, 2003, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, for Beatrice Dugas Alleman, 71, who died Sunday, May 11, 2003, at Lafayette General Medical Center.
Entombment was in St. Joseph #2 Mausoleum.
The Rev. Bill Ruskoski, pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church conducted the services.
Survivors include one son, Marroll Alleman, of Rayne; one daughter-in-law, Rhea Alleman, of Rayne; three grandchildren, Brandy Alleman, of Rayne, Christana Alleman, of Baton Rouge, M.J. Fern, of Lafayette; three great grandchildren, Destiny Alleman, Lance Alleman, Bryson Alleman; and one brother, Luke Dugas, of Duson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Emory Alleman; two sons, Darryl Alleman, Mallory Alleman; one daughter, Charlene Marie Alleman; one grandson, Lance Alleman; Parents, Ulysse Dugas and Frances Billedeaux Dugas; two brothers, Clifton Dugas, Travis Dugas; step mother, Eunice Breaux; two step brothers, Clifton Short, Wilfred Short.
“Miss Bea”, as she was known by all who loved her, had a kind, gentle nature. She continued to smile and call everyone “Sha”.
The family wishes to extend sincere thanks to the doctors and staff of Meadowbrook Rehabilitation of Lafayette, and Lafayette General Medical Center. Special thanks to Dr. Gary Guidry, Dr. Tami Lagraize, Dr. Carroll, Dr. Christopher Lagaize, Dr Riszk, Dr. Lamarche, Dr. Stephen Person, and very special thanks to Dr. Lawrence Russell, longtime physician and dear friend. To the entire nursing staff of Lafayette General on 5th Floor, 7th Floor, SNF, ICU, and PCU, Respiratory Therapists and Physical Therapist, we thank you all.
Pallbearers were Earl Dugas, Elwood Broussard, Joshua Leckey, Jacob Dogua, M.J. Fern, Ricky Champagne, Dexter Barousse and Raylin Alleman.
Honorary pallbearer was Luke Dugas.
Arrangements were entrusted to Gossen Funeral Home Inc., of Rayne.

Wade Anthony Comeaux
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Monday, May 12, 2003, at Gossen Funeral Home Chapel for Wade Anthony Comeaux, 46, who died Friday, May 9, 2003 in Crowley American Legion Hospital.
The Rev. Bill Ruskoski, pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church, conducted the services.
Survivors include his wife, Melissa Duhon Comeaux, of Rayne; two daughters, Rhonda Faye Comeaux, of Rayne, Amber Caire Comeaux, of Rayne; one son, Derick Wade Comeaux, of Rayne; one grandchild, Cheryln Paige Fusilier, of Rayne; one brother, Kenneth Dale Comeaux, of Rayne; one sister, Betty J. Doucet, of Rayne.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Asa Comeaux and Rosa Mae Boudreaux.
Mr. Comeaux was a member of the Rayne Riders Club and Rayne Jaycees.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Sunday.
Arrangements were entrusted to Gossen Funeral Home Inc., of Rayne.

John Credeur
YOUNGSVILLE –– John Credeur, 71, of Youngsville, Passed away at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 10, 2003, in Lafayette General Medical Center.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 12, 2003, at St. Anne Catholic Church in Youngsville, with the Rev. Louis Vu as the celebrant. Rite of Committal followed in the church mausoleum.
Musical selections performed included On Eagle’s Wings, Be Not Afraid, I will Never Forget You and Battle Hymn of the Republic.
Born on June 19, 1931, in Mire, Mr. Credeur was the son of Clopha and Telesia Hebert Credeur and was a longtime resident of Youngsville.
He was a carpenter and a cabinet maker for 31 years and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served druing the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed reading and doing yard work.
Survivors include his wife, Grace Boudreaux Credeur, of Youngsville; his sisters, Winnie Prejean, of Rayne, and Wilma Laughlin and her husband, William, of Rayne; his caregiver and adopted son, Tommy Menard, of Youngsville; four nephews and seven nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his siters, Aloncel Trahan and Elise Venable; and a nephew, Billy Laughlin, Jr.
Pallbearers included Richard Trahan, Mike Prejean, Thomas Laughlin, Mike Richard, Haywood Comeaux and Randy Menard.
Honorary pallbearers were Troy Cooper, Bill Guidry, Ronald Prejean, Thomas Menard, Carol Mouton, and Donald Guidry.
The family would like to extend special thanks to caregivers Thomas Menard and Randy Menard; staff of Acadian Rental Physicians AMC of Lafayette; and the staff of Vermilion Dialysis Center of Abbeville.
A gathering of family and friends was held Sunday from 2:30 to 9 p.m. at David Funeral Home in Lafayette.
A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. Sunday. Visitation continued Monday from 8 a.m. until time of services.
