Funeral services were held Monday, May 31, 2004, at 1 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Jeanette Abshire 69, who died Saturday, May 29, 2004, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital.
Survivors include four sons, Hubert Abshire Jr. of Rayne, Danny Abshire, Lafayette, Billy Abshire of Mire, and Bobby Abshire of Rayne; one daughter, Janet Richard of Rayne; stepfather Wilfred Benoit of Lafayette; four sisters, Anette Lormand of Kaplan, Loyce Crouch of Groves Texas , Yvonne Pasterlla of Port Arthur, Texas , and Loraine Baker of Bridge City, Texas . She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren
Mrs. Abshire was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Abshire ,Sr.; and her parents, Andrew and Lillian McGee Trahan.
The family wishes to thank Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital and Staff.
Burial was in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Gossen Funeral Home of Rayne.

Amanda Ann Meaux
Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 2, 2004, at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church for Amanda Ann Meaux, 58, who died Monday, May 31, 2004, at her residence in Rayne.
Survivors include her husband, Emery Meaux Sr. of Rayne; one son, Emery Meaux Jr. of Rayne; three daughters, Theresa Arcemont of Broussard, Pamela Seaux of Duson, and Laurie Leger of Rayne; three brothers, Kenneth Menard of Florida, Elridge Menard of Kaplan, and Maurice Menard of Rayne; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marion and Viola Dupuis Menard.
Burial was in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Gossen funeral Home of Rayne.

Kathryn Yvonne Callicotte
Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 2, 2004, at 12 p.m. at Gossen Funeral Home Chapel for Kathryn Yvonne Callicotte, 52, who died Monday, May 31, 2004 at the Rayne Guest Home.
Survivors include her husband, Malcolm Callicotte, of Houston Texas ; one son, Robert Callicotte, of Houston, Texas ; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Richard of Rayne; mother-in-law, Erid Callicotte; one sister, Gail and her husband, Billy Joe Brunet of Golden Meadows La.; three brothers and their wives, Fred and Janet Richard of Rayne, Larry Richard of Rayne, and Jonathan and Chelsea Richard of Rayne; one sister-in-law and husband, Connie and Sam Clark of Houston Texas ; and four great nieces and nephews.
She will be sadly missed by all. Yvonne has been battling the terrible disease of diabetes for fifty years. We are grateful for the time God has allowed her to be with us.
Burial was in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Gossen Funeral of Rayne.

Mable Domingue
Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 2, 2004, at 10:30 a.m., at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church for Mable Domingue 78, who died May 28, 2004, at the Crowley American Legion Hospital.
Survivors include one daughter, Dorothy Domingue, Rayne; three brothers, Claude Domingue of San Antonio, Texas , Willie Domingue of Eunice, and Ronnie Domingue of Rayne; two sisters, Olivia Jarreau of Beaumont Texas , and Rose M. Reno of Houston Texas ; two grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Forrest Domingue, her parents, Oliver and Felonise Charles Price, and one son, Carrol Domingue.
Burial was in the Mother of Mercy Cemetery under the direction of Gossen Funeral Home of Rayne.

Carlton James Prevost
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 24, 2004, at a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Catholic Church for Carlton James Prevost, 62, who died Friday, May 21, 2004 at Crowley American Legion Hospital.
interment was in St. Joseph Cemetery #2.
Survivors include friend and companion, Thelma Smith, of Rayne; one daughter, Dawn Rae Gerbine of Rayne: and her mother, Barbara Gerbine, of Rayne; father, C. J. “Clarence” Prevost, of Rayne; one sister, Nell Prevost Istre and husband John, of Rayne; one brother, Leewood J. Prevost, of South Carolina; one nephew and his family, John Istre and wife Rachel and children Brittany and Ashley; one niece and her family, Jena Istre Bordes and husband Coty and child Andy.
He was preceded in death by mother, Mary Alice Faulk Prevost.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Sunday.
Arrangements were entrusted to Gossen Funeral Home Inc. of Rayne.

Arasam Wheeler, Sr.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 22, 2004 in the funeral home chapel for Arazam Wheeler, Sr., 53, of Church Point, who died at 8:40 p.m. in his home on Saturday, May 15, 2004.
Burial will be in Sunrise Baptist Church Cemetery in Sunset.
He is survived by his stepmother, Della Solomon, Crowley; his wife, Susan Wheeler, Rayne; seven daughters, Trudy, Latasha, Pearl, Kirstin, Hilda, Rashalian and Delphaine Wheeler, all of Rayne; six sons, Aarazan, Ozen, Jr., Mervin, Ladracus and August Wheeler, all of Rayne, and Gerald Jankins, Lawtell; six brothers, Roy Wheeler and Eugene Wheeler, both of Rayne; Bill Anderson, Crowley; Samuel Wheller and Armstead Wheeler, Jr., Church Point, and Raylon Wheeler, Opelousas; four sisters, Fabiola Pierrce, Ruthie Sengal, Jeanette Malbrough, Jeanelle Malbrough, all of Church Point; and 13 grandchildren.
Duhon Funeral Home of Church Point was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Ethel Lynn Leger Faulk
Graveside funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 21, 2004, in Arceneaux Cemetery, with Father Bill Ruskoski officiating, for Ethel Lynn Leger Faulk, 52, of Crowley, who died at 11:45 a.m. Wedneday, May 19, 2004, in the Crowley Guest Home.
She is survived by her husband, Riley Faulk, Crowley; one daughter, Patricia Trumps Breaux, Rayne; one brother, J.D. Leger, Deer Park, Texas ; one sister, Margaret Leger, Crowley; and one grandson, Rusty Shayne Trumps.
Ms. Faulk was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Josephine Leger; two sisters, Jean Coleman and Mrs. Anna Mae Monceaux.
Duhon Funeral Home of Crowley was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Prince Trenell Morris
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 29, 2004, at Owens-Thomas Funeral Home in Crowley, with Pastor Wesley Roy, Jr., officiating, for Prince Trenell “Nukie”Morris, 28, who died Saturday, May 22, 2004.
The wake will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday.
Burial will be in the West Crowley Cemetery.
He is survived by his mother, Joanna Morris; his stepfather, Edward J. Senegal, Sr., both of Rayne; one daughter, Danique Simmons of Opelousas; one son, Ty’ren Morris, Rayne; one stepson, Ty’rese Dugas; a girlfriend, MarKeitha Dugas, Rayne; one brother, Godfrey Morris, Crowley; three sisters, Tracey Morris, Rayne, Dianne Marie Morris, New Orleans, and Deanna Monique Morris, San Antonio, Texas ; his grandmother, Willie Mae Morris, Crowley; five uncles, Bob Rochelle, Robert Lee Morris, Michael Fontenot, all of Crowley, David Fontenot, Rayne, and Carlton Guidry, Jennings; five aunts, Cynthia Richard, Ramona Freeman, Viola Morris, Renee Nelson, all of Crowley, and Dinah Moore of Church Point; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Godfrey Guidry; his grandfather, Winston Richard; a great-grandmother, Lorina Morris; and a cousin, Dy’Quincy Richard.

Elaine Marie Saltzman
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 13, 2004, at a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Catholic Church for Elaine Marie Saltzman, 50, who died May 11, 2004 in Lafayette General Medical Center.
interment was in St. Joseph Cemetery #2.
Survivors include her husband, Ernest Saltzman, Sr., of Rayne; four daughters, Bobbie Campbell, of Rayne, Tina Simon, of Church Point, Betty Saltzman, of Rayne, Billie Montenegro, of Rayne; one son, Ernest Saltzman, Jr.; father, Wilson Dupuis, of Rayne; three brothers, Donald Dupuis, of Jeanerette, John Dupuis, of Rayne, Dalton Dupuis, of Rayne; one sister, Loraine Pellisier, of Rayne; and eight grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Shirely Dupuis.
A rosary was recited at 7:p.m. Wednesday.
Arrangements were entrusted to Gossen Funeral Home Inc. of Rayne.

Lilly Mae Bunker
Funeral services were held Wednesday May 19, 2004, at 2 p.m. in the Gossen Funeral Home Chapel for Lilly Mae Bunker, 76, who died Sunday, May 16, 2004.
Survivors include one daughter, Linda Bunker McCall of Indian Bayou; three sons, Allen Ray Duhon of Branch, Ronald Duhon of Crowley, and Jerry Sylvester Bunker II of Indian Bayou; one sister, Rose Viator of Abbeville; seven grandchildren, Cody Louviere of Indian Bayou, Kihra and Myles Bunker of Indian Bayou, Dawn and Tiffany Duhon, and Lisa Hebert all of Crowley, Bonnie Ashby of Missouri, and Angel Rawles of Houma; 16 great grandchildren Lexie Ashland Louviere, Brylan Villien, Megan and Gaige Duhon, Austin, Tyson, and Brent Duhon, Dylan, Broc, and Christian Hebert, Anna, Quinlan, and Kit Rawles, Lauren, Charles and Rachael Ashby.
Mrs. Bunker was preceded in death by her husband Jerry Sylvester Bunker Jr.; one son, Donald Duhon; her parents, Odile Pommier and Bernard Hebert; and two sisters Lula Comeaux, and Bea Johnson .
A rosary was recited Tuesday evening at 7 p.m.
Burial was in the Elizabeth Memorial Baptist Church in Branch under the direction of Gossen Funeral Home of Rayne

Rose Bollich Leonards
Funeral services were held 10 a.m. Saturday, May 15, 2004, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church for Rose Bollich Leonards, 90, who died May 11, 2004 at Southwind Nursing Home.
Fr. Louis Richard officiated for the services. A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Friday at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home in Crowley.
interment was in St. Leo’s Cemetery in Roberts Cove.
She is survived by four daughters Mrs. Michael (Audrey) McBride of Crowley, Mrs. Tom (Lucille) Chisholm of Crowley, Mrs. Lawrence (Louise) Heinen of Vinton, and Mrs. Cecil (Judy) Hoffpauir ot Iota; six sons, Stephen Leonards and his wife Susan of Baton Rouge, Lawrence Leonards and his wife Carol of Crowley. Gregory Leonards and his wife Vickie of Abbeville, Albert Leonards and his wife Brenda of Vacherie, Alfred Leonards of Crowley, and William Leonards, Jr. and his wife Bobbi of Crowley; two sisters, her twin, Rosalie Olinger of Crowley and Hilda Robicheaux of Rayne; twenty-eight grandchildren, and thirty-three great-grandchildren
Mrs. Leonards was preceded in death by her husband, William Joseph Leonards, Sr.; her parents, William and Regina Hensgens Bollich; three sisters, Marie Zaunbrecher, Helen Robicheaux, and Leona Zaunbrecher; and four brothers, Joseph, Willie, Pete and Nick Bollich.
Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home, 301 North Avenue F, Crowley, was entrusted with arrangements.

Paula Courville Fontenot
Memorial services were held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, May 13, 2004, in Gossen Funeral Home Chapel for Paula Courville Fontenot, 29, who died Sunday, May 9, 2004.
Survivors include her fiance, David Kilchrist, of Rayne; one daughter, Cortney Himel, of Broussard; father, Raymond Courville, Sr., of Breaux Bridge; one brother, Raymond “Buddy” Courville, of Arnaudville; sisters, Peggy Green, of Prarieville, Darlene Conrad, of New Iberia, Gwen Touchard, Maurepas, Nannette Gauchat, of Leeton, Mo, Shannon Courville, Warrensburg, Mo.
She was preceded in death by mother, Patricia Bryan Courville.
