Clophe (C.J.)James Comeaux
CROWLEY ––Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, 2003, in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Crowley, with Father Rusti Richard officiating, for Clophe (C.J.) James Comeaux, 61, of Livingston, Texas , who died at 12 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2003, at his home there.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Burial was in Abshire Cemetery in rural Kaplan.
He is survived by four sons and their spouses, Bryan and Heather Comeaux, of Morse, Michael and Linda Comeaux, of Rayne, Troy and Tammy Comeaux, Crowley, and Chris and Tracie Comeaux of Jennings; three daughters, Casey Miller and her husband Ray, Christine Lormand and her husband, Frankie, and Ciel Comeaux, all of Crowley; one stepdaughter, Mandi Guthrie, Austin, Texas ; two brothers, Jean Comeaux, Crowley, and Thomas Comeaux, Judice; three sisters, Barbara Overstreet and Rita Smith, both of Livingston, Texas , and Shirley Wright, Baytown, Texas ; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren.
Mr. Comeaux was preceded in death by his parents, Clopha Comeaux and Ematile Dupuis Comeaux; his maternal grandparents, Loudis Dupuis and Agatha Mier Dupuis.
He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 5499, where he held office as the grand knight. He was also a member of the George Mollo Assembly and on the auxiliary police force.
Duhon Funeral Home of Crowley was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Helen Istre Bernard
CROWLEY ––Funeral services were held at 12 noon Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2003, in Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, with Father Rusti Richard officiating, for Helen Istre Bernard, 71, of Crowley, who died at 4:20 p.m. Monday, Nov. 10, 2003, at her daughter’s residence in Crowley.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel.
Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery in Crowley.
She is survived by one son, Benton “Benny”Richard and his wife, Cherie, of Welsh; four daughters, Pamela Richard and her husband Burford, Midland, and Susan and Joey Cormier, Patsy and David Kibodeaux and Marie and Burnell Istre, all of Crowley; one sister, Irene Smith, Midland; two brothers, Mitchell Istre, Crowley, and Adam Istre, Vidor, Texas ; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.; and a special nephew, Linus and Theresa Broussard of Midland.
Mrs. Bernard was preceded in death by her husband, Bernice “Smokey”Bernard; one brother, Roy Istre; and her parents, Amar and Mable Istre.
She was a founding member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, and a 25-year employee of Rayne-Branch Hospital.
Duhon Funeral Home of Crowley was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Zoe Trouve Menard
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2003, in St. Joseph Catholic Church here, with Father Bill Ruskoski officiating, for Zoe Trouve Menard, 89, of Rayne, who died at 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 10, 2003, in Opelousas General Hospital.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel.
Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery No. 2.
She is survived by two daughters and their spouses, Lula LeBlouf, Rayne, and Gerdie and Roy Clavier, Eunice; three sisters, Nora Trahan and Mable Venable, both of Duson, and Marie Alleman of Scott; five grandsons, 1 granddaughter, 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cloday Menard; her parents, Joseph and Blaze Trouve; three sisters; and one brother.
Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Daryn Kent Baronet
Funeral services for Daryn Kent Baronet, 44, who died Monday, Nov. 3, 2003 in Rayne, were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, 2003, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Crowley.
interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery with Fr. Rusty Richard officiating.
A rosary was recited at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home in Crowley.
He is survived by his brother, Gregory Baronet and his wife Mary of Rayne; his sister, Tricia Turner and her husband Glenn of Glenmora; three nephews, Jacob Turner of Glenmora, Cody Baronet and Brady Baronet, both of Rayne; two aunts, Jeanelle Guidry and Linda Young, both of Crowley; and one uncle, Warren Guilbeaux of Lafayette.
Mr. Baronet is preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Laura Guilbeaux Baronet.
Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home of Crowley was in charge of arrangements.

Audrey Mae Thibodeaux Hassan
LAFAYETTE ––Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Monday, Nov. 10, 2003, in the Islamic Center of Lafayette for Audrey Mae Thibodeaux Hassan, 59, of Lafayette, who died at 8:45 a.m. Monday, Nov. 10, 2003 in the Southwest Medical Center in Lafayette.
Burial was in Fountain Memorial in Lafayette.
She is survived by one son, Andy Hassan, Lafayette; four daughters, Molly Maung, Texas , Cappy Hassan, Egypt, Angie Hassan and Julie Hassan, both of Lafayette; one brother, Larry Thibodeaux, Spring, Texas ; and nine grandchildren.
She will be greatly missed. May God have mercy on her soul.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hassan A. Hassan, and her parents, Mr. Arnold Thibodeaux and Mrs. Eldine Thibodeaux.
Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne was in charge of funeral arrangements.

William “Bill” LaPointe, Sr.
Funeral services will be held in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 545 Savannah Ave., Port Arthur, Texas at 12 noon Saturday, Nov. 8, 2003, for William “Bill”LaPointe, Sr., 80, who died on Saturday, Nov. 1, 2003, at Park Place Medical Center in Port Arthur, Texas .
Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. until time of services on Saturday.
A native of Rayne and a resident of Port Arthur for over 50 years, Mr. LaPointe is survived by two sons, William LaPointe, Jr., Port Arthur, and Anthony LaPointe, Beaumont, Texas ; two daughters, Rosalind Chevalier and Audrey Nell Paddio, both of Lafayette; and three sisters, Alma Pierce, Palham, New Hampshire, Elnora Dominic, Port Arthur, and Eva Babin, Lafayette.
He was preceded in death by five sisters, Mary Broussard, Eunice Alexander, Lucille Alexander, Thelma Babino and Goldie Naville; four brothers, Alphonse LaPointe, Charlie LaPointe, Albert LaPointe, Felix LaPointe, Jr., and one great-granddaughter, Kayla Matthews.
He had 12 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, Mr. LaPointe was a custodian retired from the Port Arthur Independent School District.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Hannah Funeral Home, Inc., of Port Arthur, Texas .

Edmond A. Stelly, Sr.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 4, 2003, in St. Joseph Catholic Church at a Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Edmond A. Stelly, Sr., 83, who died at 6:02 p.m. Sunday, November 2, 2003, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.
interment was in St. Joseph Cemetery #2.
The Rev. Bill Ruskoski, pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church, conducted the funeral services. Readers were Kristin Stelly and Denise Kartsimas. Giftbearers were Mase Gonzales, Cameron Stelly, Hillary Stelly, Hunter Stelly. Music was provided by Valerie Andrus, singing Our Father in French, Amazing Grace, How Great Thou Art, On Eagles Wings.
Survivors include his wife, Verna Mae “Timmy” Stelly, of Rayne; two daughters, Marie Adele Gilbert and husband Dana, of Rayne, and Lisa Stelly, of Rayne; two sons; Ken Stelly and wife Diane, of Lafayette, and Timmy Stelly and wife Dayna, of Rayne; two sisters, Hazel Stelly Guillory, of Port Barre, and Jane Chautin, of Port Arthur, Texas .
He was preceded in death by one son, Edmond “Sonny” Stelly, Jr.; parents, Clayus Stelly and Amente Lalonde Stelly, three brothers, Eunice Stelly, Collin Stelly, and Clarence Stelly.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Monday.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Gossen Funeral Home Inc. of Rayne.

Felicia Ann Oliver
Funeral services were held Monday Nov. 3, 2003, at 2 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Felicia Ann Oliver, 24, who died Friday in Crowley.
Survivors include her mother, Jackie Reherman, of Rayne; her father, Mark Bertrand of Rayne; her boyfriend, Blaine Venable of Mire; two sons, Bricen Theall of Rayne, and Trenton Venable of Mire; stepfather and stepmother, Shannon and Karen Cormier of Rayne; one brother, Stonie LeBlanc of Lafayette; maternal grandmother and grandfather Joyce and Allen Thibodeaux of Rayne; paternal grandmother, Alice Melancon of Rayne; her godparents, Brian Quebodeaux, and Janice Simar; her uncles and aunts, Joey Oliver and Brain Quebodeaux, and Lynn Royer and Janice Simar.
Burial was in the Arceneaux Cemetery under the direction of Gossen Funeral Home of Rayne.

Chad Patrick Breaux
CARENCRO –– Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 24, 2004, at a 3:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Carencro for Chad Patrick Breaux, 20, who Passed away Sunday, November 21, 2004, at 10:50 p.m. at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette.
interment was in Evangeline Memorial Gardens in Carencro. The Rev. Bill Melancon, pastor of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, officiated at the services.
Musical selections were provided by Julie Broussard, accompanied by Phyllis Simar on the organ. The songs were You will Always Be A Child In My Eyes, Hail Mary Gentle Woman, On Eagle's Wings, Here I Am Lord, and One Day At A Time.
Mr. Breaux was a native of Lafayette and a resident of Roberts Cove. He attended Carencro, Crowley, and Rayne High Schools.
Mr. Breaux was employed by Smith Services in Broussard.
Survivors include his father, Patrick Breaux and his fiancee', Nadine Leger, of Rayne; his mother, Yvette Berken Arceneaux of Demopolis, Alabama; his step-father, Michael Arceneaux of Breaux Bridge; one brother, Michael Alan Arceneaux II of Demopolis, Alabama; one sister, Ashley Elizabeth Arceneaux of Demopolis, Alabama.; paternal grandparents, Ellis Breaux and the former, Lula Mae Robin Breaux, of Carencro; maternal grandmother, Thelma Abshire of Crowley; maternal step grandmother, Faye Arceneaux of Breaux Bridge; great paternal grandmother, Anaise Cormier Robin of Carencro; great maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Felix Abshire of Crowley.
He was preceded in death by his paternal great-grandfather, Alexander Robin; maternal greatgrandparents, Odon and Mathilda Breaux.
The family requested visiting hours be observed from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Tuesday and continue from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Wednesday.
A rosary was prayed at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home by Rev. Bill Melancon.
Pallbearers were Michael Arceneaux, Reginald Berken, Michael Alan Arceneaux, Jonathan Doucet, Larry Breaux, and Patrick Breaux.
Melancon Funeral Home of Carencro, was in charge of arrangements.
