Staggs
Connie Staggs, 71
Funeral services for Connie “Nan” Staggs, 71, of Ruston were held July 31 at the Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Donny Wilkinson and Andy Hurst officiating. Burial followed in Pines Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Staggs died July 29 in Monroe after a brief illness.

Mrs. Staggs attended the Trinity United Methodist Church in Ruston. She was retired from Central American Life Insurance Company after 17 years of service. She was also employed by Kilpatrick Funeral Home for a number of years.

She is survived by daughters, Renee Session and husband Donald of Sterlington and Sherri Stevenson and husband Joe of Arcadia; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four brothers; four sisters; and several nieces and nephews.

Honorary pallbearer was Paul Martin.

Pallbearers were Sam Ortego, Donnie Searcy, Danny Ponder, Stacey Guin, Wesley Foreman and Chris Lowery.

Services were under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston.

Adcock
Richard Adcock, 80
Funeral services for Richard V. Adcock, 80, of Chatham were held July 24 at the Southern Funeral Home Chapel in Jonesboro with the Revs. Ernest Norman and Randy Lee officiating. Burial followed in the Chatham Cemetery.

Mr. Adcock, born in Gray Eagle, Minn., died July 22 in Ruston.

He was a retired CPA and a veteran of the U.S. Army in World War II.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Charles T. Adcock; son, Roger Adcock; and daughter, Rose Adcock Barahch.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Adcock of Eros; children, David Adcock of Kenner, Charles Adcock of Baton Rouge, Charlotte Adcock of Baton Rouge, Barbara Phillip of Baton Rouge, Eve Landry of Baton Rouge; Sally Flores of Rocklin, Calif. and Gerald Adcock of San Antonio, Texas ; step-children, Glenda Mosley of Chatham, Brenda Sharp of Eros, Pamela Pardue, of Weston, Bettie Pardue of Springhill, Sissy Harper of West Monroe; Jimmy Brunson of Eros, Billy Brunson of Columbia; brother, Lloyd Preston Adcock of Baton Rouge; sister, Betty McDonald of Baton Rouge; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; and 16 step-great-grandchildren.

Services were under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

Beasley
Lucille Beasley, 95
Funeral services for Lucille Haigler Beasley, 95, of Jonesboro were held July 27 at the Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Nelson Womack and Kenneth Womack officiating. Burial followed in the Gansville Baptist Cemetery.

Mrs. Beasley died July 26 at Desoto Regional Hospital.

Born Dec. 9, 1907 in Dodson, she was a housewife.

She is survived by three daughters, Billie Jean Porter of Fort Worth, Texas , Patsy Womack and husband Jerry of Mansfield and Sharon Patterson of Carthage, N.C.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Honorary pallbearers were Jill Holtzclaw, Jason Rosamond, Joey Rosamond, Huey Robert, Delmar Womack and Jason Jordan.

Pallbearers were Bobby Allen, Richard Rosamond, Lee Stanford, Loyd Allen, Joey Jordan and Jimmy Jordan.

Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Parks
Beulah Parks, 82
A memorial service for Beulah Mathews Parks, 82, of Everett, Wash., formerly of Jackson Parish will be held at 3 p.m., Aug. 2 at the Briarwood Baptist Church in Reidhimer with the Rev. V.L. Montgomery officiating.

Mrs. Parks died July 12 at her home in Washington .

Born April 28, 1921 in Saline, she and her husband, Gilbert Washington Parks, moved to Washington in 1954 to start a church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, and one grandson, Larry.

She is survived by children, Scott and Penny Parks of Arlington, Wash., Bobbye and Ronald Hathcock of Texas , Charles and Cindy Parks of Fall City, Wash., Jack Parks of Buckley, Washington and Michael Wurdeman of Granite Falls, Wash.; sisters, Clydie Morgan of Shreveport, Lee Irma Hawkins of Saline, Gertrude Riddle of Bossier City, Mildred Ponder of Jonesboro, Jeweleen Keen of Panama City, Fla. and Mary Pullin of Hodge; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Services were under the direction of Purdy and Walters at Floral Hills Funeral Home in Lynnwood, Wash.

Walker
Harry Walker, 56
Funeral services for Harry L. Walker, 56, of Saline were held July 28 at the Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Larry Toms, V.L. Montgomery and Robert K. Leach officiating. Burial followed in the Taylor Cemetery in Liberty Hill.

Mr. Walker died July 25 at the V.A. Medical Center.

Born Sept. 5, 1946 in Jonesboro, he was a machine tender and a veteran of the United States Navy

He was preceded in death by one son, Jamie Walker; and father, E.L. Walker.

Mr. Walker is survived by his mother, Mrs. Virginia Robinson and husband E.C. of Saline; two sons, Harrison Reece Walker of Saline and Lucas Walker of Bristol, Tenn.; five sisters, Betty Dobson of Chestnut, Linda Thrasher of Hall Summit, Judy Walker of East Point, Robbie Breeland of Friendship and Margie Machen of Natchitoches; three brothers, David Walker of Campti, Sonny Robinson of Friendship and Tommy Robinson of Friendship; and two grandchildren, Allison and Andrew Walker.

Honorary pallbearers were Larry Carr, Keith Hall, Jim Gregory, Flop Stevenson, Bill DeCou, Buddy Stevenson, Terry Ewing, Rodney Alexander and the Jonesboro-Hodge Basketball Team of 1964.

Pallbearers were Colvin Robinson, Corey Dobson, Josh Walker, Clint Walker, Klint Robinson and Jon Dobson.

Funeral services were under the direction of Edmond Funeral Home.

Kirkham
Connie Kirkham, 42
Funeral services for Connie Lynn Kirkham, 42, of Quitman were held July 13 at the Quitman Baptist Church with the Revs. Donald Rudd, David Walsworth and Mrs. Susie Rowe officiating. Burial followed in the Walnut Ridge Cemetery.

Mrs. Kirkham died July 11 at Lincoln General Hospital.

Born Aug. 30, 1960 in Jonesboro, she was a custodian.

Mrs. Kirkham was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Earl Kirkham; grandparents, Edgar and Maurine Jiles; and grandfather, Lester Norred.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Earl Kirkham of Quitman; daughters, Emily Megan Toms and husband Jarrod of Quitman, Kylie Renee Kirkham of Quitman and Kayla Elizabeth Kirkham of Quitman; parents, Jimmy and Linda Norred of Quitman; sisters, Wendy Gaines and husband Eddie of Jonesboro and Pam Gibbs and husband Mark of Quitman; grandmothers, Iva Norred and Ruby Bullock; mother- and father-in-law, Marie and Ed Bedgood; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Honorary pallbearers were Mark Treadway, Bruce Kramer, Jessie Martin Jr., Todd Culpepper, Corey Thomas, Robert Stevenson and Ryan Norred.

Pallbearers were Bruce Thomas, Steve Williams, Butch Patton, Paul Johnson Jr., Heath Norred and Stephen Norred.

Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

McBride
Pauline McBride, 84
Funeral services for Pauline Irvin McBride, 84, of Jonesboro were held July 16 at the Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Stewart Sherman officiating. Burial followed at the Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Mrs. McBride died July 14 at the Glenwood Medical Center.

Born Sept. 13, 1918 in Atlanta, La., Mrs. McBride was a retired beautician. She worked in the Jonesboro area for 35 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James A. McBride; five brothers, Walter W. Irvin, K.B. Irvin, William R. Irvin, Hezzie H. Irvin and Howard Irvin; two sisters, Agnes Irvin Thomas and Clotieal Irvin Steinwinder.

She is survived by sons, Wade McBride and wife Becky of Jonesboro and Kent McBride and wife Cheryl of Jonesboro; one brother, Maxine Irvin and wife Agnes of Jonesboro; two sisters-in-law, Agnes C. Irvin of Jonesboro and Faye Irvin of Chatham; seven grandchildren, Melinda McBride Robinson and husband Jeff, Jay McBride, Kevin Alexander, Tracie Procell and husband Chad, Billy Shelton and wife Carla, Jamie Shelton and wife Carol Ann, Angie Snuggs and husband Todd; and six great-grandchildren, Dylan Procell, Emily Shelton, Noah Shelton, Lacie Snuggs, Joey Snuggs and Elizabeth Shelton.

Pallbearers were Jay McBride, Kevin Alexander, Mike Holder, Joey Earle, Chad Procell and John Dye.

Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Thompson
Norman Thompson, 79
Funeral services for Norman “Pete” Thompson, 79, of Quitman were held July 14 at the Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Larry Jinks and E.D. Morris officiating. Burial followed in the Beech Springs Baptist Cemetery.

Mr. Thompson died July 10 at Pinehill Nursing Home.

Born Sept. 22, 1923 in Sikes, he was a pipefitter and a veteran of World War II.

He is survived by his wife Joyce Norvelle Harper Thompson of Quitman; daughter, Cheryl Whitten and husband Robert of Hodge; son, Johnny Andrew Thompson and wife DeAnna of Denver, Colo.; sisters, Earlene Holly of Chatham and Alpha Tolbert of Jonesboro; three grandchildren, Julie, Monica and Victoria; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Ladell Pate, Eugene Tolbert, Montez Pate, Gary Morris, A.J. (Jr.) Tolbert and Buddy Tarvin.

Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home of Jonesboro.
