Edna Spell Barnett
CROWLEY –– Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2002, at 3 p.m. in the Duhon Funeral Home here, with the Rev. Paul Estes officiating, for Edna Spell Barnett, 87, of Crowley, who died at 3:20 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, 2002, in the Crowley Guest Home.
Burial was in the Indian Bayou Methodist Cemetery.
She is survived by two daughters, Irene Stoute and Gloria Hoffpauir, both of Crowley; one son, Webb Barnett, Jr., Crowley; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Ms. Barnett was preceded in death by her parents, Mervin Spell and Elizabeth Foreman; three brothers, Willie, Piley and Rheul Spell; and two sisters, Hazel Hoffpauir and Alice Spell.
Duhon Funeral Home of Crowley was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Auguste Venable
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2002, at a Mass of Christian Burial in Church of the Assumption, Mire for Auguste Venable, 72, who died Monday, Sept. 2, 2002 at his residence.
interment was in Church of the Assumption Cemetary, Mire.
Msgr. Russell Harrington, pastor of Church of the Assumption, Mire, conducted the funeral services.
Survivors include his wife, Lee Etta Godeaux Venable, of Mire; two daughters, Darleen Venable, of New Orleans, Donna Venable, of Mire; four sons, Tim Venable, of Monroe, Ricky Venable, of Mire, Nolan Venable, of Lafayette, Joe Venable, of San Diego, California; seven grandchildren, one great grandchild; one sister, Frances Doga, of Rayne; two brothers, Charlie Venable, of Rayne, Preston Venable, of Rayne.
He was preceded in death by one son, Tommy Venable; his parents, Louis Charles and Rosa Meche Venable; one niece, Kathy Venable; and one nephew, Carl Venable.
A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Gossen Funeral Home.
Arrangements were entrusted to Gossen Funeral Home of Rayne.

Louis Clyde Bergeron Jr.
OPELOUSAS ––Funerasl services for Mr. Louis Clyde Bergeron, Jr., 24, were at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 29, 2003, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church here, with burial in the church cemetery.
Survivors included his father, Louis Clyde Bergeron, Sr., of Port Barre; his mother, Cynthia Romero and her husband, Elias J. Jr. of Eunice; mathernal grandparents, Hilda and Gerald Thibodeaux of Port Barre; paternal grandmother, Pearl Bergeron of Opelousas; his maternal grandparents, Chester and Geraldine Darbonne of Opelousas; four sisters, Julie Duhon of Eunice, Sherry Bergeron, Michelle Bergeron and Crystal Bergeron, all of Port Barre; and step-brothers, Jimmy Romero of Crowley and David Romero of Rayne.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family of Louis Bergeron.
A rosary was said at 5 p.m. Sunday.
Sibille Funeral Home of Port Barre was in charge of arrangements.

Joyce Bercier Servat
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, 2003, at a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne for Joyce Bercier Servat, 78, who died at 3:07 a.m. Thursday, October 2, 2003, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.
interment was in St. Joseph Cemetery #2 Mausoleum.
The Rev. Bill Ruskoski, pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church, was the celebrant of the funeral Mass and conducted the services.
Survivors include her husband, Sidney G. Servat, Sr., of Rayne; three daughters, Michelle Johns and husband Ronnie, of Sulphur, Yvette Lavergne and husband Richard, of Lafayette, Simonne Servat, of Rayne; one son, Sidney Servat, Jr. and wife Becky of Rayne; one brother, Al Bercier, of Crowley, and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin Bercier, Sr. and Lucille Pavy Bercier; four sisters, Lucille Smith, Lula Mae Pharr, Mercedes Bercier, Yvonne Sarsfield; one brother, Edwin Bercier, Jr..
Mrs. Servat was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. Friday.
Arrangements were entrusted to Gossen Funeral Home Inc. of Rayne.

Louise Bellamy
Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, 2003, in Our Mother of Mercy Church, with Father Richard Wagner, S.S.J., officiating, for Louise Mildred Boudreaux Bellamy, 72, of Rayne, who died Monday, Sept. 29, 2003, at 1:02 a.m. in Our Lady ofLourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.
A rosary was recited Saturday at 10:15 a.m.
Burial was in Our Mother of Mercy Cemetery.
She is survived by one son, Paul Bellamy, Rayne; one brother, Delmar J. Allen, Duson; four sisters, Brenda B. Francis, Rayne, Paula A. Pitre, Jennings, Christine D. Francis, Lake Charles, and Patricia J. Norris, Crowley; a granddaughter, Alysia B. Johnson , Lake Charles; a sister-in-law, Hilda T. Bellamy, San Antonio, Texas ; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Bellamy retired from teaching at the following schools:Acadia Parish Training School, later known as Armstrong High and now Armstrong Middle. She also taught at Rayne High School. She was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority, Inc., a member of the Knights of Peter Claver Auxiliary Court 75 at Our Mother of Mercy Church, an associate of the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament, of the Louisiana Democratic Central Committe and National Association of University Women. She taught CCD, and was an Eucharistic minister and lector at Our Mother of Mercy Church. Mrs. Bellamy was a member of many other organizations and a well loved and respected member of the community.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Coley Bellamy; her parents, Victoria Rochon Boudreaux and Renal Boudreaux; one brother, R.L. Boudreaux; two sisters, Lorene Z. St. Mary, and Shirley Allen Shallow; and brother-in-law, Herbert Bellamy.
Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne was in charge of arrangements.

Myrna A. Menard
Rayne - Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 27, 2003, at Mass of Christian burial for Myrna A. Menard, 61, who died Thursday, September 25, 2003, at Crowley American Legion Hospital.
interment was in St. Joseph Cemetery #2 Mausoleum.
Survivors include her husband, John H. Menard, of Rayne; one daughter, Jackie Menard, of Rayne; one son and daughter-in-law, Fred Menard and wife Dawn, of Rayne; three grandchildren, Sydney Menard, Gracie Menard, Gabriel Menard, all of Rayne; four sisters, Joy Ann Mier, of New Richmond, Wisconsin, Joycelyn A. Lalande, of Rayne, Barbara Breaux, of Egan, Kathleen Lege, of Carencro; two step-sisters, Janice Cart, of Iota, Paula Doucet, of Rayne; five step-brothers, Keith Arceneaux, of Mire, Carroll Arceneaux, of Mire, Harold Arceneaux, of Mire, Kem Arceneaux, of Mire, Robbie Arceneaux, of Carencro; step-mother, Verdie Arceneaux, of Mire.
She was preceded in death by parents, Earon Arceneaux and Bernice Benoit; and one sister, Louella Arceneaux.
Mrs. Menard was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and The Ladies Altar Society.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Friday.
The family requested that the visiting hours be observed from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. until time of services Satuday.
Pallbearers were David Lalande, Mark Lalande, Lynn Menard, Allen Menard, Randy Hux, and Kem Arceneaux. Honary Pallbearers will be Gabriel Menard, Rickey Hulin, and Scott Summers.
Arrangements were entrusted to Gossen Funeral Home Inc. of Rayne.

Ophe Credeur
SCOTT -- Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 27, 2003, at 11 a.m. in St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, with Father Gil Dutel officiating, for Ophe Credeur, 90, of Scott, who died at 6 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, 2003, at his residence.
A rosary was recited Friday at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Lillian Credeur, Scott; one son and his spouse, Gilbert and Betty Credeur, Alexandria; two daughters, Dorothy Credeur, Lafayette, and Brenda Guidry, Scott; two stepsons, Raymond Navarre, Lafayette, and Ray Thibodeaux, Bell City; two stepdaughters, Agnes Gentry, Lake Charles, and Shirley Ingram, Jonesboro; three brothers, Oliver Credeur, Crowley, Lennis Credeur, Rayne, and Ernest Credeur, Scott; 16 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Michael Abshire, Randy Dugas, Mark White , Allen Abshire, Gilbert Credeur, and Chuck Naomi.
Mr. Credeur also leaves behind numerous step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, and step-great-great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind neighbors and two very special friends, Dolphy And Beulah Alleman.
Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Stella Faulk Fields
Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 26, 2003, at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Stella Faulk Fields, 94, who died Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2003, at 11:57 p.m. in Crowley American Legion Hospital.
interment was in St. Joseph Cemetery #2.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Mae Belle and Leo “L.J.” Alleman, of Lafayette; one son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Irene Zaunbrecher Fields, of Moss Bluff; one sister and brother-in-law, Helen Faulk and Wilmer Boudion, of Delcambre; eight grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Fields; one daughter, Audrey Ann Fields; three sisters, Rose F. Hebert, Sylven F. White , Mary Alice Provost; eight brothers, Rene Faulk, Freddie Faulk, Willie Faulk, Ernest Faulk, Wilton Faulk, Joseph Ewell Faulk, John Dennis Faulk, and Jean Savan Faulk.
Mrs. Fields was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and the Ladies Altar Society.
A rosary was prayed at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
Pallbearers were Jeff Fields, John Fields, Will Baudoin, Mike Alleman, Chad Granger, Raymond Prejean, Jay Ryan Prejean, and Mac Dore’. Honorary pallbearers were Clarence Provost, Wilmer Baudoin, and Leo Alleman.
Arrangements were entursted to Gossen Funeral Home Inc. of Rayne.

Theresa Cloteaux Girard
Rayne - Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 1, 2003, at Mass of Christian Burial in Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Scott for Theresa Cloteaux Girard, 66, who died September 29, 2003, at Our Lady Of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette.
interment was in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Scott.
Survivors include two daughters, Patsy Clark and husband Larry, of Duson, and Birdie Girard, of Mire; one son, Steven Girard, of Carencro; one brother, John Cloteaux and wife Emily, of Lafayette; ten grandchildren, four great grandchildren, five nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one son, Charles Joseph Girard, Jr.; parents Leonce Cloteaux and Matilde LeBlanc Cloteaux; one sister, Birdie Cloteaux; one brother, Lawrence Cloteaux.
A rosary will be prayed in French Tuesday at 6:00 p.m..
The family would like to deeply thank the staff of Hospice of Acadiana, especially Father Mike Champagne, the Pastoral Care and Comfort Care and most especially the nurses and aides of five central of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital for the tender, loving care given to our mother and ourselves during her short illness.
Pallbearers were Steven Girard, Joseph Guidry, III, Charles “ Chuckie” Jarvey, Christopher Jarvey, David Cloteaux and Rodney Jarvey.
Honorary pallbearers were be Dusty Quillen and Larry Clark.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Gossen Funeral Home Inc. of Rayne.
