Funeral services for Joseph Benjamin Harper, 83, of Saline were held Feb. 16 at the Carolina Baptist Church with the Rev. Malcolm Self officiating. Burial followed at the Carolina Cemetery.Mr. Harper died Feb. 13 at the Healthsouth Rehabilitation Hospital.
Born May 25, 1918 in Saline, he was a retired barber.
He is survived by his wife, Amy Harper of Saline; daughter, Lavon Sullivan and husband Muriel of Saline; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Kirk Andrews, Brad Dison, Jereme Dison, Eric Sullivan, Nunnally Walters and Gary Dison.
Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Bamburg
Louise Bamburg, 77
Funeral services for Louise S. Bamburg, 77, of Jonesboro were held Feb. 13 at the Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Malcolm Self officiating. Burial followed in the Hawthorn Cemetery in Ashland.
Mrs. Bamburg died Feb. 11 in the Winn Medical Center.
Born Oct. 12, 1924 in Lecompte, she was a retired retail clerk.
She is survived by son, Ernie Bamburg and wife Linda of Winnfield; daughter, Cindy Jordan of Doyline; sisters, Willie Mae Drilling and husband Clarence of Houston, Gladys Rayburn of Baton Rouge and Mary Powell of Vivian; four grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Ike Funderburk, Jim Gregory, Cary Pardue, Charlie Smith, Dennis Smith and Philip Underwood.
Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Corbitt
Audrey Corbitt, 85
Funeral Services for Audrey Bell Corbitt, 85, of Bienville were held Dec. 20 at the Old Saline Baptist Church with the Revs. Calvin Phelps and Jerry Martin officiating. Burial followed in the Old Saline Cemetery.
Mrs. Corbitt died Dec. 18, 2001 at the Homer Memorial Hospital.
Born Jan. 18, 1916 in Dubberly, she was a retired nurse’s aid.
She is survived by daughters, Faye Bates and husband Vellar of Houston and Ernestine Stanfield of Minden; brother, Ralph Turner and wife Gladys of Shreveport; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers were C.H. Cheatwood, Curtis Dyson, Hartwell Fair, Roy Fair, Jimmy Fields and Hilburn Toms.
Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

Head
Clara Head, 92
Funeral services for Clara Elizabeth Swanson Head, 92, of Quitman were held Feb. 11 at the Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Nancy Walker officiating. Burial followed in the Greenwood cemetery.
Mrs. Head died Feb. 9 at Pinehill Nursing Home.
Born Aug. 29, 1909 in Ruston, she was a retired teacher.
Mrs. Head was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Arlo Head.
She is survived by sons, Benjamin L. Head of Savannah, Ga. and H.A. Head and wife Norma of West Monroe; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Todd Culpepper, Martin Gilbert, Bob Humble, Larry Humble, Roy Earl Koonce and Charles Tilley.
Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Ross
Louise Ross, 67
Funeral services for Louise Ross, 67, of Jonesboro were held Feb. 11 at the Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Billy Mac McBride officiating. Burial followed in the Yankee Springs Cemetery.
Mrs. Ross died Feb. 9 at the Healthsouth North Louisiana Rehabilitation Hospital.
Born Oct. 29, 1934 in Brewtons Mill, she was a bag puller. Mrs. Ross was preceded in death by her parents Aubrey Peterson and Velta Stewart Peterson; and brothers, Douglas and Donel Peterson.
She is survived by sister, Nellie Hughen and husband Joe of Saline; brother, Bobby Peterson and wife Olline of Goldonna; and several nieces and nephews.
Honorary pallbearer is Kevin Chandler.
Pallbearers were Lonnie Cheatwood, Luke Cheatwood, Josh Peterson, Ricky Peterson, Matt Cheatwood and Greg Stephens.
Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Thomas
Angus Thomas, 92
Funeral services for Angus Denton Thomas, 92, of Mt. Olive were held Feb. 11 at the Southern Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Wayne Morrow and Robert Tyler officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. Olive East Cemetery. Mr. Thomas died Feb. 10 in the Lincoln General Hospital after a long illness. He was a retired Bienville school board member and a member of Quitman Baptist Church.
He is survived by sisters, Faye Collinsworth of Bienville, Rhodessa Smith of Simsboro and Daffie Bowman of Boomeville, Ark.; brothers, Guy Thomas of Saline and Robert D. Thomas of Mt. Olive; two grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Services were under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

Hogg
Ernest Hogg, 90
Funeral services for Ernest Hogg, 90, of Saline were held Feb. 1 at the Southern Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Staples officiating. Burial followed in the Antioch Cemetery.
Mr. Hogg died Jan. 28 at his residence after a long illness.
He was retired from the United States Air Force.
Mr. Hogg was preceded in death by his wife Virgie M. Hogg.
He is survived by son, James Earl Hogg of Saline; daughter, Mildred Bryant and husband James of Saline; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one step-great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

Holliday
Mildred Holliday, 90
Memorial services for Mildred “Mimi” Kelly Holliday, 90, formerly of Jonesboro were held in the chapel of the Memorial Drive United Methodist Church in Houston on Jan. 29. She died Jan. 26.Born Dec. 19, 1911 in Jonesboro, to Robert T. and Emma Nettles Kelly, she attended the University of Houston and had a career as an employment counselor.
She is survived by daughter, Pat Holliday Boone; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services were under the direction of George H. Lewis and Sons Funeral Directors of Houston.

DeJean
Olive DeJean, 98
Funeral services for Olive Jenkins DeJean of Hodge were held Jan. 26 at the Hodge Baptist Church with the Revs. Walter Rogers and Dwayne M. Boudreaux officiating. Burial followed in the Jonesboro Cemetery.
Mrs. DeJean died Jan. 23 at the Lincoln General Hospital.
Born in Winnfield on Oct. 29, 1903, Mrs. DeJean was a retired post mistress.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Edward Jenkins and Martha Marina Peters; her husband, Fernand A. DeJean; five brothers, Joseph Mallory Jenkins, Sion Edward Jenkins, George Wallace Jenkins, James Riley Jenkins and William Amos Jenkins; and three sisters, Eva Hughes, Ella McDowell and Lela Harlan.
She is survived by son, Fano DeJean and wife Patricia of Corsicana, Texas ; daughters, Nell Melton and husband Jim of Baton Rouge and Loraine Rogers of Hodge; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers were Hewell Heard, Dewitt Jones, Everett Odom, Lamonte Templeton and the deacons of the Hodge Baptist Church.
Pallbearers were Bobby Brinson, Jim Finton, Wilfred Foster, Travis Hall, Richard Johnson , Bobby Schmidt, Troy Smith and Joey Tait.
Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.
