Funeral services for Ernest Donald Searcy, 63, of Jonesboro were held Dec. 29 at the Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Hudey Beaubouef, Greg Guillot and Kelly Tingle officiating. Burial followed in the Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Searcy died Dec. 27.Born July 16, 1938 in Lake Charles, he was a Greywolf Drilling motorman.
Mr. Searcy was preceded in death by one grandson, Donnie Ray Searcy.
He is survived by his wife Jackie Searcy of Jonesboro; daughters, Sissy Evans and Husband Terry of Jonesboro and Debra Abedi and husband Walid of Shreveport; sons, Donnie Searcy of Jonesboro, Danny Searcy and wife Lisa of Jonesboro and Moe Searcy and wife Teresa of Jonesoboro; sister, Linda Borden of Jonesboro; special friend, Sidney Walker of Jonesboro; and 11 grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers were Chantry Borden, Daniel Diffey, Mark Lowery and Joshua Searcy.
Pallbearers were Truman Harding, Tommy Harper, Jackie Jordan, Mike LaGrandier, Jerry Springfield and Elmo Swanner.
Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Coleman
Roy Coleman, 52
Funeral services for Roy Bernell Coleman, 52, of Quitman were held June 3 at the Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Stuart Toms officiating. Burial followed in the Sweetwater Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Coleman died May 31.Born Nov. 17, 1949 in Jena, he was a veteran and a retired law enforcement officer.
He is survived by hi wife Emma D. Coleman of Quitman; daughter, Melissa Ann Sutton and husband Kyler of Hampton, Ga.; son, Brian Welch of Vidalia; brother, Carl Wayne Barker of Jena; sisters, Pam Bradford of Jena, Elaine Madden and husband Gary of Denham Springs, Wanda Mattoon and husband Dwight of Jena and Anita McDowell and husband Jesse of Jena; and four grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Carl Barker, Emmett Blundell, Jerry Leach, Gary Madden, Dwight Muttoon and Jimmy Tilley.
Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Gunn
Sarah Gunn, 81
Memorial services for Sarah Elizabeth Gunn, 81, of Escondido, Calif. were held May 2 at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego, Calif. Ms. Gunn died Feb. 9.Born in Winnfield, Ms. Gunn was the eldest of nine children, descendents of Mr. and Mrs. Neil F. Gunn of Jonesboro. She attended Jonesboro-Hodge High School and was one of the first groups of WACS in World War II. Sarah was a disabled veteran and was buried with honors.
She was loved and will be deeply missed by family members, relatives and friends. She is survived by her sister, Alice C. Carman and her brother-in-law Jesse L. Carman of Romona, Calif; brother, Neil F. Gunn and her sister-in-law Joanne of Wellington, Nevada; four nieces; two nephews, two great-nieces; and four great-nephews.

Kelly
Maggie Kelly, 82
Funeral services for Maggie Faye Sims Kelly, 82, of Ruston were held June 1 at the Trinity United Methodist Church in the Burkhalter Chapel with the Rev. Fred Widerman officiating. Burial followed in the Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Kelly died May 28 in Ruston after a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Kelly was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Louisiana Tech and Tulane University and was a retired medical social worker for the Louisiana State Department of Health. She was preceded in death by her husband F.G. Kelly.
She is survived by daughter, Nancy Spain and husband Sam of Summerfield, Fla.; son, Charles Kelly of Hendersonville, N.C.; sister, Jane Sherrard of Ruston; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Kevin Kelly, Stanley Spain and Casey Sherrard.
Services were under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston.

Walker
Louise Walker, 88
Funeral services for Louise Walker, 88, of Quitman were held May 27 at the Beech Springs Baptist Church with the Revs. Larry Jinks and Robert Tyler officiating. Burial followed in the Beech Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Walker died May 26 at Pine Hill Nursing Home.
Mrs. Walker was a retired schoolteacher and principal and was the last principal of the Beech Springs School. She was a member of the Beech Springs Baptist Church for more than 58 years and taught Sunday school.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kennie L. Walker; son, Martin Luther Walker; and granddaughter, Dondi Walker Copeland.
She is survived by daughter, Dorothy Fullerton of Star City, Ark.; sons, Kenneth Walker and wife Shirley of Weston and Tommy Walker of West Monroe; three brothers, H.L. Henry, Jr. of Ruston, Clay Henry of Ruston and J. Hugh Henry of Devinshire, England; sister, Frances Scray of Ruston; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Memorials can be made to the Beech Springs Baptist Church.
Services were under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

Whitman
Myrtis Whitman, 88
Funeral services for Myrtis Marie Whitman, 88, of Hodge were held at June 3 at the Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Perry Lassiter and Dwayne M. Boudreaux officiating. Burial followed at the Antioch Cemetery.
Mrs. Whitman died May 31 at Lincoln General Hospital.
Born Feb. 21, 1914 in Sikes, she was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Whitman.She is survived by daughter, Faye Gaines of Hodge; sons, Bruce Whitman and wife Ann of Hodge, Ray Whitman and wife Lanette of Jonesboro and Rodger D. Whitman of Hodge; sisters, Roxie Aldy and husband David of Jonesboro, Josie Campbell of Shreveport, Annette Emanus and husband Tommy of Jonesboro, B.J. Ross of Westport, Wa. and Mary Johnson of Jonesboro; brother, Joe Parker and wife Vickie of West Monroe; step-brother Willie Terry of West Monroe; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Kent Gaines, Tim Gaines, Darron Whitman, Gaylon Whitman, Michael Whitman and Stacey Whitman.
Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Butler
Dorthia Butler, 80
Funeral services for Dorthia Melbia Butler, 80, of Chatham were held May 26 at the Chatham Methodist Church with the Revs. Wallace Ingles and Cage McLemore officiating. Burial followed in the Chatham Cemetery.
Mrs. Butler died May 23 at Pinehill Nursing Home.
Born March 19, 1922 in Urania, she was a housewife.
Mrs. Butler was preceded in death by her husbands, Henry Silas Simons and Elzie Butler; daughter, Shirley Marie Simpson; and great-granddaughter, April Marie Lawrence.
She is survived by daughters, Edna L. Smith and husband Tommy of Hodge, Wanda F. Matthews and husband Roy of Sikes and Helen M. Crawford and husband Michael of Jonesboro; sons, John B. Simons and wife Shelby of Layton, Utah, Doniva J. Simons of Chatham and William H. Simons and wife Mary of Chatham; sisters, Mavis Fluitt of Columbia, La., Helen Marie Mills and husband Brian of Jena and Bobbie Smith of Urania; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Honorary pallbearers were Ace Catlin, Charles Higgins, Jimmy Johnston, Donald Waggoner and Jessie Wayne Waggoner. Pallbearers were Homer Allen, Mike Crocker, Larry Hardwick, David Jacobs, Bart Waggoner and Mike Wilson.
Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Caskey
William Caskey, 85
Funeral services for William Newton Caskey, 85, of Jonesboro were held May 25 at the Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Joe Hamilton officiating. Burial followed in the Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Quitman.
Mr. Caskey died May 22 at Shumpert Medical Center.
Born July 20, 1916 in Liberty Hill, he was a retired milwright from Stone Container Paper Mill and a United States Army Veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife Alice Caskey.
He is survived by his daughter, Cheryl R. Caskey of Shreveport; and son William H. Caskey and wife Nancy of Kansas City, Mo.
Pallbearers were Tom Andrews, Talton Barron, Flip Long, T. Malone, Glen Nash and W. L. Ponder.
Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Farrell
Bernadette Farrell, 77
Funeral services for Bernadette Farrell, 77, of Quitman were held May 27 at the St. Lucy Catholic Church with Father Rob Leonhardt officiating. Burial followed in the St. Lucy Catholic Cemetery.
Miss Farrell died May 24 at her home.
Miss Farrell was born in Middlebrough, England on March 28, 1925. At the age of 15 she joined the English armed forces and served during World War II as a driver. She came to the United States in 1947 and lived with her sister and brother-in-law, Phil and Harold Thomas of Quitman. She went back to England for a few years, but came back to stay in the United States in 1953. While living in Quitman with her sister, she worked various places as a private nurse. She was a Catholic and attended church in both Hodge and Ruston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, St. Lucy Catholic Church or to the charity of your choice.
She is survived by her brother-in-law, Harold Thomas of Quitman; niece and nephew, Shirley Ann Westley and Lionel Shaun Webb, both of Newmarket, England.
Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.
