Beaulah Anderson, 75
Funeral services for Beaulah Faye Anderson, 75, of Hodge were held May 16 at the Union Baptist Church in Union with the Rev. E.D. Morris officiating. Burial followed in the Union Cemetery.
Mrs. Anderson died May 14 at Lincoln General Hospital.
Born Jan. 6, 1927 in Hodge, Mrs. Anderson was a homemaker and a long-time member of the Union Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Prather M. Anderson; her parents, Emmett and Quinnie Lowery; and brother, Billy Everett Lowery.
She is survived by her son, Ronnie D. Anderson of Apalachicola, Fla.; sisters, Janis Fletcher and husband James of West Monroe, Nancy Bryant and husband L.E., Jr. of Jonesboro; and Karen Hall and husband Joe of Mount Holly, Ark.; life-long friend, Ernest Quarles of Hodge; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Eugene Anderson, Joey Anderson, Claude Brewer, Harold Carr, Cedric Smith and Jacky Sutton.
Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Crouse
Carolyn Crouse, 53
Funeral services for Carolyn “Kitty” Roach Crouse, 53, of Joyce were held at the Old Union Cemetery with the Rev. John Johnson officiating. Mrs. Crouse died May 16 at the Huey P. Long Medical Center.
Born June 12, 1948 in Emmett, Ark., she was a housewife.
She is survived by her son, Tommy Crouse and wife Dorothy of Joyce; sisters, Barbara Hamilton of Columbus, Ark. and Opal Sowell of Houston; brothers, Bobby Roach of Lubkin, Donald Roach of Joyce and Jesse Roach of Nashville, Ark.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were George Placker, Kenneth Sepulvado, Chuck Stroud, George Stroud, James Stroud and Paul Dauzat.
Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Williams
Ralph Williams, 77
Funeral services for Ralph W. “Doc” Williams, 77, of Jonesboro were held May 20 at the Southern Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Gene Cumpton and Ronnie Thompson officiating. Burial followed in the Garden of Memories.
Mr. Williams died May 18 at the Jackson Parish Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Gertrude Williams; brothers, Aubrey Williams, J.D. Williams and Barney Williams; and one sister, Margaret Brown.
He is survived by his wife Ethel Williams of Jonesboro; daughters, Patricia Caskey and husband George of Winnfield and Tina Sessions and husband Robin of Jonesboro; sisters, Helen Brown of Jonesboro and Bonnie Walker and husband Jimmie of Jonesboro; four grandchildren, Todd Beams and wife Lana of Winnfield, Ritchie Beams and wife Jodi of Charlotte, N.C., Tiffany Sessions of Jonesboro and Jeremy Sessions of Jonesboro; four great-grandchildren, Brennan, Dylan and Landan Beams of Winnfield and Lanie Beams of Charlotte, N.C.; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Services were under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

Conklin
Mary Conklin, 78
Funeral services for Mary Margaret Conklin, 78, of Jonesboro were held May 7 at the St. Lucy Catholic Church with Father Jerry Thelen officiating. Burial followed in the St. Lucy Catholic Cemetery.
Mrs. Conklin died May 3 at Forest Haven Nursing Home.
Born May 30, 1923 in New York City, Mrs. Conklin was a retired office clerk from Hodge Clinic.
She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Conklin.
She is survived by nephews, John Carroll of New York City and Edward Carroll, Jr. and wife Judy of Milwaukee, Wis.; and nieces, Cathy LeSage and husband Wayne of Paoli, Pa., Meg Corrigan and husband Eddie of Riverdale, N.Y., Gretchen Piceozi of Madrid, Spain and Amy D’Agrosa and husband Paul of St. Louis, Mo.
Pallbearers were Virgil Anderson, Richard Johnson , Donnie McLean, Nelson Moore, Shelton Moore and Ross Pullin.
Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Linton
Ima Linton, 78
Funeral services for Ima Inez Linton, 78, of Quitman were held at the Antioch Cemetery on May 10 with the Rev. David Walsworth officiating. Mrs. Linton died May 8 at Lincoln General Hospital.
Born May 31, 1923 in Jonesboro, she was a housewife.
She is survived by sons, Thomas Linton, Jr. and wife Susie of Hodge, David Linton and wife Louise of Quitman, Glen Linton and wife Karen of Jonesboro and Bobby Linton and wife Lisa of Quitman; daughters, Cheryl Moffett and husband Stanley of Jonesboro and Teresa Walker and husband Ralph of Quitman; brother, David Milton Carter of Natchitoches; 15 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Larry Lambert, Joshua Linton, Michael Linton, David Linton, Jr., Greg Moffett and Tim Moffett.
Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Smith
Vera Smith, 92
Funeral services for Vera Wooley Smith, 92, of Quitman were held May 10 at the Strange Methodist Church with the Revs. R.P. Willis, Robert Tyler and H.M. Roach officiating. Burial followed Strange Cemetery in Readhimer.
Mrs. Smith died May 8 at Lincoln General Hospital.
Born June 5, 1909 in Readhimer, she was a housewife and a long-time member of the Strange Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Willie Smith.
She is survived by her daughter, Eunice Burris and husband Jackie of Qutiman; son, Billy W. Smith and wife Carole of Florien; brother, John R. Wooley of Readhimer; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers were Michael Buchans, Shane Burris, Derek Johnson , Tyler McGuire, Gavin Neatherland and Dennis Robertson.
Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Weeks
Rudy Weeks, 68
Funeral services for Rudy Morton Weeks, 68, of Jonesboro were held May 13 at the Jonesboro Cemetery with the Rev. Marlin Betts officiating.
Mr. Weeks died at his home on May 11.Born Feb. 14, 1934 in Jonesboro, he was a bikesmith and a veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Clara J. Weeks of Jonesboro; sons, Gregory Weeks of Clinton, Miss., Gary Patton of Springdale, Ark., Jim Patton and wife Tina of Nashville, Tenn. and Charles Patton, Jr., and wife Carol of Chincoteague, Va.; daughters, Brenda Nicholson and husband Doyle of Baton Rouge and Jackie Parr and husband Terry of London, England; 17 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Avery
Durward Avery, Jr., 65
Funeral services for Dr. Durward R. Avery, Jr., 65, of Calhoun were held May 7 at the Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Russell Rhodes officiating. Burial followed in the Zion Rest Cemetery.
Dr. Avery died May 4 at the Glenwood Medical Center.
Born Sept. 8, 1936 in Weston, Dr. Avery was a veterinarian and horse breeder. He had a practice in Calhoun for many years and had worked earlier in Gaare Mill and Newellton. He was a graduate of Weston High School and attended Louisiana Tech and received a doctorate of veterinary medicine from Texas A&M University. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force Security Service where he was a staff sergeant with top-secret clearance. He was the past president of the Louisiana Veterinary Medical Association. He was a pioneer in embryo transplantation in the United States. Many of the horses bred on his farm were successful race animals, but most important to his clients and their owners were his concern and caring and his ability to diagnose their needs.
He is survived by his father, Durward Avery, Sr., of Jonesboro; mother, Opal Avery of Jonesboro; sons, Darrell R. Avery and wife Donna of Jonesboro and David R. Avery and wife Trissie of Summerfield; daughter, Allison Gault and husband Tim of West Monroe; sisters, Sarah Blackmon of Monticello, Ark., Jo Fitzpatrick and husband Jim of Lafayette and Carolyn Rhodes and husband Keith of Vernon; five grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Joe Avery, Larry Avery, Dan Kitner, Glen Nash, Wayne Nash and Phil Roper.
Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Davis
Dewanna Davis, 52
Funeral services for Dewanna Bryan Davis, 52, of Jonesboro were held May 6 at the Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Danny Stevenson and Elton Gunter officiating. Burial followed in the Beulah Cemetery in Calhoun.
Mrs. Davis died May 2 at the LSU Medical Center.
Born Aug. 28, 1949 in Hodge, she was a loan officer.
She was preceded in death by her father Erven Bryan.
She is survived by her mother, Mary E. Bryan of Hodge; sons, James Bradley Greer and Dowell Brent Mize, both of Jonesboro; brothers, Carey Lynn Bryan and wife Leica of West Monroe and Jerry Donald Bryan and wife Linda of Jonesboro; sisters, Nell Bryan Finley and husband Robert of Haughton and Darlene Bryan King and husband Dale of Calion, Ark.; grandsons Bradley Bryan Greer and Caleb Brock Greer, both of Jonesboro; friend, Dale Young of Jonesboro; three nieces; and five nephews.
Her mother is pastor of the Full Gospel Temple in Monroe.
Pallbearers were Larry Cobb, James Earl Gibson, Michael Jones, Todd Kelly, Rodney Mize and Richard Mize.
Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.
