Richard Womack, 75
Funeral services for Richard Leonard Womack, 75, of Quitman were held May 24 at the Jonesboro Assembly of God with the Revs. Paul Bradford and Huey White officiating. Burial followed in the Hart Assembly of God Cemetery in Sikes.
Mr. Womack died May 22 in Quitman.
Born Jan. 3, 1928 in Sikes, he was retired from the forestry industry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence William and Ollie Verda Head Womack; and one sister, Glenda June McDow.
He is survived by his wife, Billie D. Womack of Quitman; sons, Bobby Ray Womack and wife Tsune of Quitman, Charles Richard Womack of Quitman, the Rev. David William Womack and wife Sharon of Ferriday and Thomas Michael Womack and wife Velvet of Quitman; daughters, Linda Blount and husband Ellis of Qutiman and Beverly Kay Knox and husband Jimmy of Quitman; brothers, C.W. Womack Jr. and wife Billie Jo of Corning, Calif., Henry Lee Womack and wife Barbara of Sikes, John H. Womack and wife Annette of Winnfield and Jake Womack and wife Madonna of Winnfield; sisters, Patty Jo Underwood of Sikes, Iwilla Brumfield of Sikes, Mary Moore of Tyler, Texas , Patricia Young and husband Ricky of West Monroe and Vickie Godsey and husband Maynard of Tyler; mother-in-law, Ruby Mangum of Quitman; 20 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Grandsons served as pallbearers.
Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Alexander
Barbara Alexander, 65
Funeral services for Barbara Janell Alexander, 65, of Shreveport were held May 14 at the Antioch Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Staples officiating.
Miss Alexander died May 12 at Willis Knighton Hospital in Shreveport.
Born Nov. 6, 1937 in Shreveport, she was a speech therapist.
She is survived by cousins, Bill Gatlin and wife Katie of Hodge, Pauline Gatlin Upton of Delhi and Frances Micha Jordan of Shreveport.
Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Hobson
Albert Hobson, 79
Albert Leo “Al” Hobson died Tuesday morning at his home in Hodge, La. after a lengthy illness. He was 79 years old. Al was a WWII veteran having served in the 87th Infantry Division. He was retired from Stone Container paper mill. Al was a well- known musician and bandleader throughout Louisiana , Arkansas and East Texas from the ‘50’s through the ‘90’s. His “Al Hobson and the Skyliners” played on KTBS radio in Shreveport and hosted most of the Grand Ole’ Opry stars. His band was a regular at the Skyway Club in Bossier City many years and broadcasted the Louisiana Hayride on KWKH from there with the late Horace Logan after the Hayride left Municipal Auditorium. He was inducted into the Locust Country Music Hall of Fame in Monroe on Dec. 10, 1993Al was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Geneva Wells Hobson and his mother and father, Garlon and Edwina “Echo” Hobson. He is survived by his three children, Dianne Hobson Clark and husband George Clark of Baton Rouge, La.; Al Hobson Jr. and wife Emily Whitehead Hobson of Marshall, Texas and Dale Hobson and wife Gayle Brown Hobson of Quitman, La. Seven grandchildren, Kayla Clark Saltz, Myriah Clark, Myranda Clark Eisworth, Al “Trey” Hobson, III, David Hobson, Kevin Hobson, and Kelly Hobson Saleh. Eight great-grandchildren, Kylie and Zoie Kramer, Logan and Joshua Hobson, Riley Saleh, Myrissa and Rayne Eisworth and Hannah Hobson. Two sisters, Mary Alice Williams of Hodge, La. and Garlon E. Mosby of Olympia, Wash. and aunt Bunah Goff of Dallas, Texas and uncle Lexie Hobson of Baytown, Texas , and a special friend, Imogene Brymer and numerous nieces and nephews. The funeral was held at Edmonds Chapel in Jonesboro, La. at 2 p.m., May 15, with the Rev. Jimmie Pyles officiating and the Rev. Stuart Toms and the Rev. Bill Strawbridge assisting. interment was at the Hodge Cemetery in Hodge, La. Pallbearers were Al “Trey” Hobson III, David Hobson, Kevin Hobson, Solomon Saltz, Seth Eisworth and David Saleh. Honorary pallbearers were Jamie Williams, Willard Willis, Merlin Womack, Laris “Shorty” Cathy and Charley Ray Harvey. Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home

Huff
Robert Huff, 65
Funeral services for Robert Lloyd Huff, 65, of Quitman were held May 20 at the Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Moss officiating. Burial followed in the Antioch Cemetery in Quitman.
Mr. Huff died May 18 in the Glenwood Medical Center.
Born July 21, 1937 in Troy, Ind., he was a retired tour foreman for Stone Container.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy Gene and Eddie Huff.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel Nunn Huff of Quitman; daughter, Trish McLean and husband Phil of Denham Springs; step-son, Shelby Green of Longview, Texas ; brothers, Jim Huff of Seymour, Ind. and Morris Huff of Port Charlotte, Fla.; grandson, Andy McLean; and step-grandchildren, Zach and Gavin Green.
Pallbearers were C.W. Benton, Phil McLean, Johnny Ponder, David Andrews, Carl Chiles and Bobby Borland.
Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Spillers
W.W. Spillers, 80
Funeral services for Dr. W.W. Spillers, 80, of Dodson were held May 18 at the Garden of Memories with Mr. Paul Havener officiating.
Dr. Spillers died May 16 at Forest Haven Nursing Home after a long illness.
He was a retired dentist.
He is survived by sons, Woody Spillers and wife Tina of Quitman and Tommy Spillers and wife Geneva of Dodson; daughters, Ellen Fitzpatrick and husband Joe of Grovetown, Ga., Jody Durbin and husband Gary of Jackson , Tenn. And Cathy Broomfield of Jonesboro; four brothers, Bill Spillers and wife Joyce of Leesville, Harvey Spillers of Eros, Eugene Spillers and wife Judy of Eros and Dalton Spillers and wife Velma of Leesville; sisters, Beatrice Williams and husband Earl of West Monroe and Nell Young and husband Joe of Alexandria; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services were under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

Thomas
Robert Thomas, 72
Funeral services for Robert Odoll Thomas, 72, of Quitman were held May 21 at the Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ashley Ambrose officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. Olive East Cemetery in Quitman.
Mr. Thomas died May 19 at Jackson Parish Hospital.
Born Oct. 15, 1930 in Mt. Olive, he was retired from South Central Bell and a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
He is survived by his wife, Maudie Henson Thomas of Mt. Olive; son, Robert Bruce Thomas and wife Connie of Mt. Olive; daughters, Debra Thomas Alexander and husband Bruce of Mt. Olive and Kathy Ranaee Thomas Walley and husband Mark of Ruston; brother, Guy Thomas of Saline; sister, Faye Collinsworth of Bienville; grandchildren, Joanna Gibson, Landon Perry, Courteny Batts, Cody Thomas and Thomas Walley; great-grandchild, Conner Gibson; step-grandchildren, Kevin Alexander; and Tracie Procell.
Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Wilson
Helen Wilson, 81
Funeral services for Helen J. Wilson, 81, of Jonesboro were held May 18 at the McDonald Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Terry Mims officiating. Burial followed in the McDonald Cemetery.
Mrs. Wilson died May 16 at Lincoln General Hospital after a lengthy illness.
She was a retired auto parts salesperson and dealer.
Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her husband, J.B. Wilson; son, George “Pat” Wilson; and brother, George J. Dallas of Horseheads, N.Y.
She is survived by son, Dennis J. Wilson of Greenwood; granddaughter, Courtney Wilson of Natchitoches; 4 step-grandchildren, Terri, Sherri, Wendy and Dave; and 10 step-great-grandchildren, Kayla, Drew and Jaimee Mills, Mat and Jason Warren, Ashlon and Julianna Bumgardner and Tory, Ashley and Becia Waldroup.
Services were under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

Crouch
Martha Crouch, 78
Funeral services for Martha Nell Crouch, 78, of Jonesboro were held May 3 at the Friendship Church of the Nazarene with the Revs. Ralph West and Chris Crawford officiating. Burial followed in the Friendship Cemetery in Robeline.
Mrs. Crouch died April 29 at Jackson Parish Hospital.
Born May 21, 1924 in Roxana, Ill., she was homemaker.
Mrs. Crouch was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. William M. Crouch Sr.
She is survived by her daughter, Dr. Rebecca Crouch Ryals, M.D. and husband Barry of Jonesboro; son, William “Bill” Crouch Jr. and wife Laura of Iota; sisters, Mary Harshbarger of South Roxana, Ill. and Betty Cox of Roxana; and granchildren, Cherie Cundiff of Houston and Tracy Crouch of Bethany, Okla.
Pallbearers were Scott Cundiff, Charlie Harshbarger, LaWayne Horton, Melvin House, Jerry Larpenter and Tracy Crouch.
Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Haile
S.W. Haile, 77
Funeral services for S.W. “Red” Haile, 77, of Calhoun, formerly of Jonesboro, were held May 5 at the Jonesboro First Baptist Church with the Rev. Drs. Greg Clark and Matthew Wohlfarth officiating. Burial followed in the Jonesboro Cemetery.
Mr. Haile died May 3 at Glenwood Medical Center.
Mr. Haile was a retired county agent with the Louisiana Cooperative Extension Service and a member of the Cedar Crest Baptist Church in Calhoun.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Oleta Haile of Calhoun; daughter, Rhonda Jones and husband Bill of Ruston; son, Rusty Haile and wife Lisa of Baton Rouge; brothers, Dr. William C. Haile of Baton Rouge and the Rev. George “Bub” Haile of Baton Rouge; sister, Nancy Futch of Farmerville; and grandchildren, Nancy Albin and husband Sean of Spring, Texas and Maggie Adams of Baton Rouge.
Memorials can be sent to the Cedar Crest Baptist Church, 3245 Arkansas Road, West Monroe, LA 71291. Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Haynes
Clarice Haynes, 54
Funeral services for Clarice Hanson Haynes, 54, of Minden were held May 7 at the Antioch Baptist Church with the Revs. Danny Warbington and Craig James officiating. Burial followed in the Garden of Memory.
Mrs. Haynes died in Minden. She was a retired secretary.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Nettie Hanson; sister, Vera Lee Hanson; and brother, Bob Hanson.
She is survived by her husband, Danny L. Haynes of Minden; sons, Darrell Finlay and wife Becky of Birmingham, Ala. and Wesley Haynes of Minden; father, Leon Hanson of Atlanta, La.; brothers, J.T. Hanson of Winnfield, Troy Hanson of Atlanta and Roger Hanson of Atlanta; and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Timmy McEachean, Joe Whaley, Billy Watson, Jason Hanson, David Finklea, Joe Lang, Cricket Lang, Adrian James, David James, Alvin Maynor and Terry Cole.
Services were under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home of Minden.
