Funeral services for Samuel Monroe Mathews, 94, of Jonesboro were held at the Walnut Ridge Cemetery with the Rev. Jerry Dark Jr. officiating.
Mr. Mathews died April 17 at Jackson Manor Nursing Home.
He worked in the timber industry.
He is survived by nieces and nephews, Mary Wall, Carolyn Jackson , John Mathews, Roy Mathews and Jerry Mathews; and cousins, Johnnie and Ray Cotton.
Services were under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

Parker
Barbara Parker, 80
Funeral services for Barbara Williams Parker, 80, of Jonesboro were held April 15 at the McDonald Baptist Church with the Rev. Terry Mims officiating. Burial followed in the Midway Cemetery.
Mrs. Parker died April 12 in Jonesboro.
Born April 6, 1923 in Mills County, Texas , she was a homemaker.
Mrs. Parker was a resident of Winn Parish from 1955-1984, and had lived in Jonesboro for the last 19 years. She was a member of McDonald Memorial Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donis Parker; her father, Millard Edward Williams; brothers, Leo Williams and Grant Williams; and one sister, Laverne Williams.
She is survived by her son, Stanley Parker and wife Debbie of Jonesboro; daughter, Paula Parker Summers and husband Robert David of Charleston W. Va.; mother, Polly Irene Williams of Goldthwaite, Texas ; brothers, Joe Williams of Sweetwater, Texas and Jerry Williams of Copperas Cove, Texas ; sisters, Velda Blackburn of Goldthwaite, Texas and Juan Jones of Baytown, Texas ; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Rob Blackburn, David Chestnut, Ernie Lewter, Mark Parker, Parker Summers and Buddy Taylor .
Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Stroud
Alma Stroud, 94
Graveside services for Alma Leola Stroud, 94, of Jonesboro were held April 19 at the Garden of Memories with the Rev. Rodger Dale Patterson officiating. Mrs. Stroud died April 18 at Forest Haven Nursing Home.
Born Oct. 18, 1908 in Sikes, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her daughters, Eunice Browder Fonville and husband Thomas M. of Blanchard and Clavis Palmer Lodge of Bellaire, Texas ; brother, Horace McCarty and wife Johnnie of Jonesboro; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

DeCou
Marie DeCou, 94
Services for Marie P. DeCou were held at the First Baptist Church of Jonesboro, April 13, with the Rev. Dr. Matthew Wohlfarth officiating. Burial followed at the Winnfield Cemetery under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.
Mrs. DeCou died April 11 at age 94. A native of Winn Parish, she had resided in the Jonesboro area since 1943. She will be lovingly remembered and certainly missed. She began a teaching career at a mere 17, drawing on natural ability; later, she earned a degree from NSU attending summer schools. Mrs. DeCou primarily taught fifth grade at Hodge Grammar School. Her professional groups included Delta Kappa Gamma and later, the Retired Teachers Association.
Mrs. DeCou was a faithful Sunday School teacher and a constant Bible student, leading various ages up to the Gleaners Class. She was active in the W.M.U. dinners and outreach, serving always as secretary of her circle. Devotion to worship was paramount in her life.
Some community affiliations other than those mentioned above were L.E.A., Prayer Room Warriors, Jackson Parish Museum Hostesses, Jonesboro-Hodge Garden Club, Jackson Parish Homemaker’s Club, Triple L and AARP.
Mrs. DeCou is survived by two children: Kay D. Bond of Haynesville and Bill DeCou and wife Betty of Jonesboro. Daughter-In-Law, Myrna DeCou of Jonesboro. Seven grandchildren, Drs. Kathryn and husband Michael Ferry of Arlington, Texas , Dr. John Bond and wife Danna of Coppell, Texas , Mitchell DeCou and wife Kim of Cabot, Ark., Lesley Simmons and husband Al of Jonesboro, Lauren Lowe and husband Billy of Quitman, Brian DeCou of Chicago and Benjamin DeCou and wife Heidi of Jonesboro; 12 great-grandchildren, Andrew, Madeline, Jackson , Jared, Ryan, Alison, Megan, Daniel, David, Zack, Madison, Michael and one on the way; five sisters, Bill Barr and Edith Durrant, both of Atlanta, La., Louise Verver of Slidell, Mary Evelyn Geiger and husband Len and Nell White and husband Bobbie, all of Shreveport; Sister-In-Law: Dorothy Dewing of Portland, Ore.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. DeCou is predeceased by her husband, L.V. DeCou, who was a longtime sharer of like callings, a son, Jimmy DeCou, a sister Ruby Johnston, and a brother, Homer Parrish.
The family wants to thank Winnie Stuckey, Evelyn Terral and Ann Stuckey for their kind nursing care and a true friend, Arlena Bradford, in addition to many other friends through the years.
Pall Bearers were deacons of the First Baptist Church.
Memorials may be of the donor’s choice of church or charity.Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Dillard
Angela Dillard, 37
Angela Traina Dillard, 37, of Branch, La. Passed away Monday March 31, 2003 at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital, Lake Charles La. Angela was born April 30, 1965 in Gelnhausen, Germany. She graduated from St Mary’s High School in Colorado Springs, Colorado and attended Holy Cross College in New Orleans, La. Angela will be remembered by all who knew her for her loving and giving nature. Survivors include her parents Mel and Inge Traina of Colorado Springs, Colorado; one brother, Wayne E. Traina of New Orleans; grandfather, A.J. Traina of Jonesboro, LA; grandmother, Else Wilbert of Wiesbaden, Germany; aunts and uncles, Jody and Kim Traina and Bruce and Toni Traina and families; and three nephews Alexander, Ryan, and Grant Traina all of New Orleans.
A memorial service was held at St. Lucy Church in Hodge, Thursday April 3.

Fannin
John Fannin, 88
Funeral services for John Thomas Fannin, 88, of Winnfield were held April 10 at the Southern Funeral Home Chapel in Winnfield with the Revs. Lamar Carpenter and Danny Keyes officiating. Burial followed in the Cypress Creek Cemetery near Dodson.
Mr. Fannin died April 8 in the Parkview Care Center in Winnfield.
Born in Winn Parish, the son of Frank and Lottie Chandler Fannin, he was a retired construction worker for Brown and Root, a farmer and a carpenter. He was a member of the Calvin First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Molly Ray Fannin of Winnfield; sons, Kelly R. Fannin and his wife Carol of Winnfield, James R. Fannin and his wife Kitty of Jonesboro and Johnny R. Fannin of Winnfield; daughter, Dorothy Jean Ferguson of Atlanta, La.; five grandchildren; one step-grandchild; and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Matt Fannin, Delain Fannin, Brent Fannin, Mike Turk, Charles Perow and Sammy Smith.
Services were under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.

Kelly
Charles Kelly, 81
Funeral services for Charles Oscar Kelly, 81, of Jonesboro were held April 10 at the Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Robert K. Leach and R.C. Smith officiating. Burial followed in the Harmony Grove Cemetery in Gaars Mill.
Mr. Kelly died April 7 at Lincoln General Hospital.
Born July 27, 1921 in Dodson, he was a retired pipe fitter.
He is survived by his wife, Florence Elizabeth Taylor Kelly of Jonesboro; sons, Charles Wayne Kelly and wife Louise of Gaars Mill and Phillip Ray Kelly and wife Carolyn of Jonesboro; brothers, Eugene Kelly of Dodson, John Kelly of Dodson and Bobby Kelly of Monterey; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Jeff Kelly, Todd Kelly, Chris Smith, Reggie Pardue, Bruce Whitman and Jimmy Culpepper.
Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Taylor
Lisa Taylor , 28
Funeral services for Lisa Kellie Taylor , 28, of Farmerville were held April 12 at the Crestview Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne Whiteside officiating. Burial followed in the Crestview Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Taylor died April 10 in her home.
She was a nurse.
She is survived by her husband, Billy Dale Taylor of Farmerville; son, Derin Vahn Taylor of Farmerville; parents Larry and Linda Greene of Farmerville; sisters, Tammy Ray and husband Wayne of Newnon, Ga., Pamela Greene of Gibsland and Sheila Greene of Farmerville; and a host of relatives and friends.
Services were under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

Waggoner
Christopher Waggoner Sr., 86
Funeral services for Christopher Printes Waggoner Sr., 86, of Eros were held April 11 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Eros with Rev. Mike Devallier and Rev. Larry Eubanks officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. Olive Cemetery.
Mr. Waggoner was a loving husband and father. He was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Velma Waggoner of Eros; two daughters, Marie Varner and husband Harvey of Eros and Norma Massey and husband David of West Monroe; his daughter-in-law, Margaret Waggoner of Eros; five brothers, Ellie Waggoner of West Monroe, Houston Waggoner of West Monroe, John Waggoner of Columbia, Ernest Waggoner of Eros and Jerry Waggoner of Eros; sister, Dorothy Hargrove of West Monroe; seven grandchildren, Ken Massey, Ronnie Massey, Pat Magee, Connie Carr, Glenn Varner, Chris Waggoner and Kim Wickham; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Waggoner was preceded in death by his parents, James and Bessie Waggoner; a brother, Hansford Waggoner and his son, Printes Waggoner Jr.
Pallbearers were Ken Massey, Ronnie Massey, Glenn Varner, Chris Waggoner, John Magee, Jerome Carr and Jeff Wickham.
Honorary pallbearers will be Stephen Reeves and Jeremy Carr.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mt. Olive Baptist Church building fund.
Services were under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Jonesboro.
